I have a Samsung Galaxy 551 (Froyo) mobile
Rooted my mobile and installed Live Wallpapers!
I badly need the water (with leaves) Live Wallpaper.
Whatever I downloaded from xda forums is force closing with Froyo.
Probably it works only for 2.1.
Could someone point me to a 2.2 version?

I am planning to buy this Model how is it ? And i have also planned for rooting this Device for enabling Live Wallpaper. I guess you must check that on Andriod Market in Thems Section.
I've tryed all of them from Galaxy S i9000 but they don't work.

Hi Joy,
It's an awesome mobile and I'm totally in love with it!! I'm not comfy with touchscreen keypads and the physical keypad on this is superb! Froyo is fast! Live wallpapers work fine, though battery drains faster. Need for Speed:Shift works smoothly. Not sure about battery life though. I use a lot of apps and battery drains faster. Probably need to check battery life without opening any apps for 1-2 days. GPS is fast and spot on. Browsing, games.. etc everything works fast and smooth. Would say go for it if you are keen on a physical keypad too. Otherwise the LG Optimus One is there with better resolution and more RAM.

I have rooted my phone and Live Wallpapaer is enabled and its wrking fine. But now i am looking for the Flash Played.apk which can work for this device. I have downloaded one flash 10.1.apk for Froyo but after installing the Browser stops working so i uninstalled it. So need apk for this model

Galaxy S & nexus S live wallpapers won't work on galaxy 3. I tried it. maybe galaxy 3 can't handle large resolution wallpapers meant for galaxy S & so fc

In indroid 3.0 work perfect, i have a lot of livewallpapers and work fine.

Firstly i will not take any responsibility of any damage done to your phone so do this AT YOUR OWN RISK!
1. Make sure your phone is rooted or this will not work
2. Download --> sdcard
3. Extract contents of sdcard on to your sdcard
4. Download Terminal Emulator from google store
5. After Terminal Emulator is successfully download and install open it!
6. Run the following Commands
$su
#busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
#cat /sdcard/LiveWallpapersPicker.apk > /system/app/LiveWallpapersPicker.apk
#cat /sdcard/libRS.so > /system/lib/libRS.so
#cat /sdcard/librs_jni.so > /system/lib/librs_jni.so
#reboot
DONE!

I was digging through the apk files of the leaked Pyramid rom and have been trying to get the new clockwidget and Streak live wallpaper ported over for the ThunderBolt and all my efforts to what I know as far as coding anyway, I can't get it working.
It could be related to it being encoded using Gingerbread, but these two alone are worth a look since they have new features and the new Live wallpaper "Streak" is going to be the new flagship background for all devices.

These willl not work yet, read the op.
I think one of the main things needs to be addressed is the resolution / dimension (regarding the live wallpaper) .. i tried it on my HTC Desire (i know i just gave it a try) and it did not work

Yes, i can tell you how. First, port Sense over to a samsung phone as this is the framework needed to run most of these. Second, i'm done with the sarcasm. Seriously though, unless there is a sense port to samsung, you're not getting these things on your S 2. Sorry bud.

I can't find youtube in the market, I can however find it on the web market but cannot overall since I have no compatible device...
although it its installed on my desire, galaxy tab and archos tab
But no way to get it working on my sgs II.

Did you search the miui ROM thread? And have you asked in there?
That would be the best (and correct) place to start.
Well it is a release thread, so I prefer to keep that one clean. Therefore I chose the QnA. I have searched there but there are only reports about green videos not about the app itself.

You may get an answer in here, but that thread is the correct place to ask. As per forum rules you shouldn't start a new thread to ask questions relating to another thread. You're not supposed to start development threads unless you're releasing, but discussion in them is correct.
Anyway, have you tried taking the youtube app off your Galaxy Tab? That should work with it, unless there's something incompatible with the miui ROM, in which case you're back to the ROM thread again.
I suppose one of your other devices is rooted?
On the rooted device go to /data/app and copy com.google.androi.youtube-2.apk to your pc. You can do this with either root explorer or a similar app, or with adb.
Then copy it to the internal storage of your galaxy s 2 and place it in /data/app and overwrite everything, use root explorer, or similar, and remember to activate r/w. You can also use adb push for this.
Please tell me if this works. Otherwise I would recommend, as always, backup, not youtube ofcourse , wipe everything and install again.
Oh, and don't mind the thread, as you can see it already is a horrible mess over there...
Use the MIUI backup, wipe everything, redownload (could be a bad download) and reflash MIUI, check market for youtube, if it isn't there tell me and I'll grab the youtube apk from my phone running MIUI.

The full wipe didn't work nor did the root explorer way. Keep getting FC's. Had this problem on miui for the desire as well...
Could this be country specific my mate had the same problem on his desire with miui...

Unzip youtube.7z to /data/app, give it the correct permissions and reboot the phone.

Try and use galnetmiui. YouTube will work with galnetmiui. No offence to the other miui's but they ain't no where near as good and stable as galnet's

Custom boot animation on Samsung Galaxy tab
First – Your device MUST be rooted.
Secondly – the disclaimer -
You do all or any of the things below, at your own risk. If you mess it up, don’t blame me, and don’t say I didn’t warn you.
If you mess anything up, or something else decides to break, the brick is yours to keep – you did it – not me =)
Seriously, worst case scenario would be having to do a few adb lines or to re-flash a few files on the tab, and it will be working again.
So, let’s get started and get custom boot animations working on the thing!
First off, we need to get root acess, so just do, once connected to the ssh server;
Code:
[B]su[/B]
and allow the shell superuser access.
Following this, we want to make the system partition writeable.
Code:
[B]mount -o remount rw /system[/B]
Then, we want to place ourselves in the correct folder.
Code:
[B]cd /system/media[/B]
Now, to get rid of the Samsung boot branding, we need to rename a few files, you might want to keep them on the tab, just in case you want them back..
Code:
[B]mv bootani.qmg bootani.qmg_X
mv bootstill.qmg bootstill.qmg_X
mv samsungani.qmg samsungani.qmg_X
[/B]
Next, we need to drag in the boot animation you want, and have placed on the SD card (internal memory).
Code:
[B]cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip bootanimation.zip[/B]
Now, if you want, you can test it by typing “bootanimation“.
To get out of it, as it will loop indefinitely, you have to press CTRL C.
If you want to change the boot animation, just copy in another one, and test it as above.
Once you are happy, do the following.

[B]mount -o remount ro /system[/B]
Now, it is time to view it – restart your tab, and the Samsung boot animation should be gone, and your new boot animation is in place......
Hope this will help you figure out ways to use any custom bootanimation.....

Just go into the system/media folder with root explorer and replace the bootanimation.zip with the nexus one.

can't we lay our hands on a SYS dump from the prime? then extract it? but then again, with lower resolution, the end result would not satisfy.

That's because I changed that files already. Push the bootanimation.zip into \system\media and it should work.

I was surfing and get this awesome app for the Gamers who like to play PlayStaion, now it is on Mobile and works on our low-end device Galaxy Y.
I thought it to share it you all.
Now lets back to the topic.
Steps to follow :
1)Download the Playstation®Mobile.apk and install it.
After installing it you will get an error. Dont worry.
Download : http://www.playstation.com/psm/store/en.html
2)Now you need to download the following zip and flash(I have modified the zip)
Download : http://db.tt/k3Wbmn8Y
Note: Just to be clear once again, you have to be rooted to install the helper files com.playstation.playstationcertified.jar and com.playstation.playstationcertified.xml. If you're not rooted yet, first figure out how to do so to your device and then come back.
This relies on having busybox, which if you're rooted, you likely already do.
3)Alternatively, if you don't want to flash from recovery or just like to know what you're doing, you can perform the steps manually while booted into Android:
Unzip the zip file downloaded in step 2.
Copy playcertetcpermissionscom.playstation.playstationcertified.xml to /system/etc/permissions/ on your device.
Copy playcertframeworkcom.playstation.playstationcertified.jar to /system/framework/ on your device.
Set the permissions on com.playstation.playstationcertified.jar to 644 (read/write, read, read) using your favorite file manager or command line.
4)Reboot.
Note : You need to be registered on playstation network to play games.
Register as citizen of United kingdom or Japan as I have tested other countries are not working.

Buddy,I use chainfire 3D and is working fine for me.

You can only download files larger than 20mb if you are on a wifi connection!
How old is that! I download gigabytes a week on my mobile network as I have no data limits so to make this app usable only if you have wifi makes the app useless to me
I know this isn't the op fault it's Sony - just reviewing the app

app will not start & crash to home screen if set to auto sign in - have to clear data & sign in each time

Well, if you want to play then you have to buy it but rather i suggest play the free one in the feature menu list.

I have only Galaxy Y. So cant say anything. But it may work on other device also as it is compatible with galaxy y.
Hello all. I just recently updated my N10 to 4.3 and found out a bunch of apps aren't working for it, namely the ones above. I had to flash back to 4.2.2 in order to get the apps working again. Just an FYI.

Ditto on PA 4.3.
Can vouch for gamekiller not working, on a different device though. Not that it matters.

i m using android 4.3 pac rom on my i9305,
i installed supersu https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu&hl=zh_TW
and it will ask u to update the supersu binary
after the update and reboot, the game killer will successfuly detect the root, and u r able to use the game killer app!
hope i helped u, like this post to let everybody see this and please share it out if this does work for everyone to help other!

mines not working. my device is rooted, using custom rom ditto note 3.1.1, and updated Super su binary many times. even tried cwm / twrp mode still not working. HELP

Chances are there is a problem with SELinux. I'm not sure if it's specific to Samsung TouchWiz ROMs/kernels, but I'm having this issue again once I left AOSP 4.3 and started running TW 4.3.

its not working with most of the games like subway surfers , temple run , asphalt 8 etc
Something changed in selinux or something with SU that broke game killer. Other similar apps work fine, but they don't have the ability to change multiple values at once, or set a variable to a negative value.
