What You Will Need
A Rhodium/TouchPro2/Tilt2 device
PC with an internet connection (I'm assuming you have one if your reading this thread)
Micro SD card
USB cable or Micro SD Adapter
Steps
1. Go to to XDAndroid thread(when at the thread hit the big logo) or the official site either link will take you to where you need to go. It should look something like this.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Click the download link on the left next to HOME it should bring you to the page pictured below. Archive link has the older releases of XDAdroid.
3. You can download the rar or the cab but I prefer to use the rar method. Keep in mind the Blazin(custom) and Reference(stock) are different from each other. Save to your desktop and make sure you have an extractor like 7zip or Winrar.
4. Once you have downloaded the files to your desktop extract them in advance and make sure to save them to your desktop for easy reference.
5. Now press the link to the Official GenY Dualboot thread and download the v1.0.6.0 CAB .
6. Now extract the download to your desktop.
7.Go to the extracted folder you downloaded from XDAndroid and double click the andboot folder and make sure it looks like this. You may have to get the startup.txt from andboot>AndroidApps folder, it should say startup.backup.txt.
8. It is essential you have these folders and files because they are needed for XDAndroid to work.
AndroidApps(folder)
conf(folder)
media(Folder)
haret.exe
initrd.gz
modules-x.x.xx.xx
rootfs.img
startup.txt
system.ext2
ts-calibration
zImage
9. Go to the GenY Dualboot folder you extracted and copy the WVGA cab to the andboot folder you compiled. The highlighted file.
Your completed folder should look something like this.
10. Now transfer( copy and paste or cut and paste your choice) all the contents in the andboot folder(DO NOT MOVE THE ACTUAL FOLDER JUST THE FILES IN IT) to the root of you Micro SD card.
11. Once you've done that insert your Micro SD card into you device and head to the file eplorer
12. Now install the GenY Dualboot cab to your sd card. Its should say internal or storage card but choose storage card. Its is essential you install this to your storage card or it wont boot when you turn the phone on.
13. Reset your phone or power off then power on and it should boot. You can choose to boot windows or android and you done. Just give it a little time to load android.

Update 1
If your are using a GSM device I recommend you make sure force CDMA in the startup.txt is at 0. Also before you boot into Android make sure you are not in AIRPLANE MODE in windows.

Pretty handy. Just a note, you can use a registry editor to tell it to boot from your andboot folder instead of the root of the SD card. Working nicely here now, thanks!

What if you decide to use the andboot folder and not transfer the files into the main dir of the sdcard. Is there a setting that we can modify to point to the andboot folder?
Nevermind, found an answer...
v1.0.6.0 and newer: "AndroidBootFolder"="string" ("": boot from root of storage (e.g. \Storage Card\haret.exe)| "andboot": boot from \Storage Card\Andboot\haret.exe, string can be edited in registry)
v1.0.5.0 and older: "AndroidBootFolder"=dword:0 (1: boot from \Android\ folder on storage (e.g. \Storage Card\Android\haret.exe)| 0: boot from root of storage)

I just noticed that string on GenY thread someone posted about that earlier.

nice- it's much less painful to reboot android this way. I also changed the registry key to boot from andboot I like to have an organized storage card

wow this is awesome thanks, i needed this to test a website i made for my phone but the lack of browsers with a good wekit for winmo is crap.
i do use the android emulator but to test it on a device is much better so thanks, i did not want to lose my windows mobile rom because of the software i have on it.
i have however one problem, i cant connect to my mobile operator here in the uk, i have set my locale to UK and set the network to search but it finds nothing, so far i have browsed only via the working wifi, but no GPRS, which i would like to for real testing, does anybody know of this issue, or is it just unique to my set.
FYI HTC touch pro 2 on virgin mobile network

T-mobile touch pro 2 not working..
Is t-mobile touch pro 2 compatible for this...when i inatalled ,no radio signal appear on mobile.please help me

Your startup txt should have force CDMA at 0 and make sure your not in airplane mode when your windows before you enter android

great tutorial, good job =]
edit*
1 question,
I installed this on my sd card, rebooted the phone but at booting the gen Y screen did not pop up or is that normal?
i tought this program would show up as soon as winmo is booting right? so i can choose faster wich OS i wanna boot in.
so yeah this program does not auto start for me on startup, i can start the program manualy in the menu though but thats not much faster then booting haret...
so what did i do wrong :S
edit2*
After an second reboot it worked.. and after an third reboot it also works oh lol.
Guess i had to start the program once to be recognized or something like that.
Anyway great thanks =]

Awesome! quick and easy! thank you so much!

Aren't you supposed to actually install it to internal memory not storage card?? this is what the offical Gen.Y Dualboot post says
"This app MUST be installed on your internal memory in order for autoboot to work. (installing on internal storage/storage card will cause the app not to launch on boot)
Also make sure that all registry entries are correct, since an incorrect/missing registry key can cause errors (v1.0.6.0: make sure the AndroidBootFolder key is a STRING (not dword!)"

I feel it is best to install to SD in case you continually auto-boot into android when you dont want to after setting auto-boot/fast-boot for Android. Sometimes when the phone reboots it does not respond immediately and does not give you a chance to tap so when that happens your can remove SD and boot up again in windows.

Thank you sooo much .. Everything worked well but my sim card won"t connect or dial . It stays in "Flight Mode" I have the AT&T Tilt 2 Please advise???

Before you boot into android make sure you are not in airplane mode in Windows. Also make sure force cdma is at 0.

I've got a small issue I hope someone can help with:
I'm dual booting WM6.5 and XDAndroid Froyo7.1 with Gen Y Dual booter on an AT&T Tilt2 (Rhodium300).
The issue I'm having is that Gen Y only allows for either a 3 sec or 10 sec boot and neither is long enough for either bluetooth or WiFi to initialize before booting to Android. If I boot into Winmo from Gen Y and let it fully load before running Haret.exe I have both bluetooth and Wifi on Android with no problems.
Does anyone know how to add an additional delay to Gen Y so that it loads after 30 sec or 60 sec?

I've never had this problem, and I have Android boot in 3s. Is WinMo in Airplane Mode when you boot Android? I always leave WinMo in Airplane Mode, maybe that's the difference...?
Some crazy guy used mortscript to delay Gen.Y running. You can try that I guess...

...made a revision of my soundbox to fix the storage name issue.
FlaxBOX2 v3:
Its now easier to use, I left the sound names on a txt file still because its easier to change on you PC's notepad or PPC's notes than on 100 separated registry variables. :/
The folder and mp3 names are hardcoded so there are no mistakes.
"Theme 10" is empty so that you can add your own sounds (you can change all, of course).
Its limited to 10 folders with 10 sounds each, so that's 100 sound files.
What's new in v3:
-----------------
- More colors.
- More sounds (now 90 + your 10)!
- Favorite sound, on open it will play automaticly your pre-selected sound.
- Auto-configurable path, thanks to Wedge, the cab creates everything for you now.
- Shortcut on the start menu (wo-hooo).
- Quick-config paths in different languages (only needed if you open the app in a rom or PDA where you didnt installed the cab).
To install:
---------
- Install Flash 7: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/downloads/player.html
- Download and extract the Zips and then the 2 part RARs, with Winrar.
- Install the CAB.
- Have fun.
To customize:
--------------
- Rename the names on the data.txt.
- Add your own Mp3 on the right folders with the right filenames.
- Create your own, following the same variables and placing them on the correct folders.
Create your own funny pack and upload it here for everyone to use.
Works Great on HP iPaq 210
Just tried your new version and it works great! I loaded FlaxBox on the CF Card following your very simple instructions, set the path and started using my new PDA Executor! Even better, this version should be easy to upgrade, just replace the exe ...
Thanks very much!
Works Great on Diamond
Thanks for this App,
works onmy diamond on storage card (AZTOR X2Ultimate), very simple to use and customize with 8 folders.
I start to complete 8th folder.
Thanks for the Ap! I have a problem though. I set the path for the sounds but it does not save. The program will find the folders up to the point where I restart my phone and then it does not find them. It also does not work with the default location. Any ideas?

Thanks, but I tested it and saves the path on mine... :/
Are you sure your not giving him the wrong path?
Mine is like this:
Yeah I am sure. Tried it so many times and different ways. Is there maybe a registry entry I should clear somewhere that may be corrupt from FlaxBox 1?
Thanks for any help!
Also this is on a VZW Touch Pro.
Nope, the older version relied completly on the txt file, so no registry at all.
You can use a freeware registry viewer or resco explorer to see whats on the:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\FLAXBOX -> PATH
Whats the name of your storage card on the explorer?
My storage card is "Storage Card".
That registry entry is not there. Could that be the problem?
Well... it should create it... :S
But if its not there, it would read the default value... And if you are using that one, it's even more strange.
I agree. Can you copy the Registry entry as I should create it and see if that helps?
BTW - I am running custom ROM with lots of hacks so I am not trying to say there is anything wrong with your program. Others seem to be running it with no issue.
Well, you should only need flash 7. :/
Here it is, use it on any registry tool or Resco explorer.
hey! really nice app, but i have some problems with it. It looks like this:
Any ideas?
wow....thats a major video-card repulse to flash...
You have flash 7, right?
Never saw that before.
Yeah, i just installed it (on to my storage card). Maybe i should have installed FP on the internal storage? Or is my phone really crappy? (Asus P320)
edit: ok, my phone just sucks. I've reinstalled FP to the internal storage, no effect.
Oh well, the buttons work even if they are unreadable.
I think flash 7 always installs itself to the windows folder, even if you tell him to go to the storage card.
It is because of the rom, something about the video driver that isnt reading the colors correcly, it looks like an old bug in windows 3.11 (PC) that happened if you choose the wrong color limit... Not that this helps on anything... :/
Thanks but no luck. I think it must have something to do with the ROM. I will try it out again after my next ROM flash. I did try your no sd card version also with no luck.
Thanks again!

Could be the ROM... It's custom one. The strange thing is that other apps that require the video card work just fine (games, multimedia, even flash). Anyway, windows mobile is generaly buggy so this doesn't seem all that strange.
Thanks!

You deserve honor this is sooo funny app!
I post here over 60 fart sounds as wav!!
Maybe somebody have interesting about that!
I have one question, did exist a WVGA Version for my Touch HD?
Thank you in advance!

Olá twolf,
Thanks for this, it's a funny one!
I've tried to make a CAB for this and it almost worked. The main problem is that you're using "/" as a path separator instead of the standard (in the windows world) "\".
Maybe that is what is also causing problems to other people. If you could use "\" on the registry entry it would greatly simplify installation.
BTW, you keyboard is great, but just try to enter "Cartão de Memória" with it... You should know better!

Obrigado, I didnt understood the "\" "/" problem, but the tool's api I'm using for the registry only works with those commands, if I try to use it any other way it simply wont work...
Ouch, lol...you are right, I never had Windows Mobile in other languages, including my own, so never thought of that, hehehe...
You can still edit the registry manually with a reg tool, sorry about that...

[APP][25MAR10]Gen.Y DualBOOT v1.0.6.0[W|Q|VGA][CAB|EXT]

Just to clear up the most asked question in this thread, this app will NOT work with the HTC HD2, because there is no android distro available yet for that platform (SnapDragon)
Gen.Y DualBOOT: Dual boot solution for Windows Mobile devices with XDANDROID
Before I start, I wanted to give my props to all android developers that made android possible on our devices: please support these guys: XDANDROID team (Diamond/Raphael/Blackstone..), Topaz Android Team & others that I might have missed
*Just to clear things up, this is only a bootlauncher app, u still need to install android for yourself on your device
Introduction
Android on WM devices is getting more and more popular, especially with the latest developments, and it's almost ready for daily use. I wanted to have an app so we could easily boot into both WM & Android, and Gen.Y DualBOOT was the solution. This release is made for VGA devices, and supports booting Android both from Internal Storage (moviNAND, e.g. Touch Diamond) & Storage Card (SDMemory, e.g. Touch Pro). WVGA version and QVGA version is also ready. This app has been tested on WM6.1, but will work perfectly on WM6.5.x as well.
Keep in mind that your android setup must be installed already at the root of your storage card in order for this app to work correctly (e.g. \Internal Storage\haret.exe or \Storage Card\haret.exe respectively)
User Guide
Here's a quick User Guide, showing the interface and what the buttons are for:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This app is launched by a registry key created in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init], so it launches directly at boot after shell gets initialized.
Chefs: If u are going to cook this app into your ROM, make sure that this key gets added DURING your customization procedure (and not before!)
There are 2 checkboxes, enabling automatic boot:
AutoBoot: enabling this mode will automatically boot the OS of your choice after a 10 second countdown
> disabling autoboot will remove the countdown completely
FastBoot: enabling this mode will automatically boot the OS of your choice after a 3 second countdown (requires AutoBoot to be enabled first)
Now apart from these 2 checkboxes, u have 2 radiobuttons, which allow u to choose which OS gets automatically booted.
And last but not least, u have the 2 manual launch buttons. Pressing these buttons will directly launch (overriding autoboot) Windows Mobile or Android.
Registry
Gen.Y DualBOOT checks for 5 registry keys, which allow some form of customiation. Apart from the last key (StorageBootMode), all keys can be modified utilizing the radio & check buttons in the GUI. All of these keys can be found in:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gen.Y\DualBOOT]
Here's quick list describing what the keys are for
"AutoBootEnabled"=dword:1 (1: enable autoboot | 0: disable autoboot)
"FastBootEnabled"=dword:0 (1: enable fastboot | 0: disable fastboot)
"AutoBootAndroid"=dword:1 (1: boot Android | 0: boot Windows)
"StorageBootMode"=dword:0 (1: boot from Storage Card (SDMemory) | 0: boot from Internal Storage (moviNAND))
v1.0.6.0 and newer: "AndroidBootFolder"="string" ("": boot from root of storage (e.g. \Storage Card\haret.exe)| "andboot": boot from \Storage Card\Andboot\haret.exe, string can be edited in registry)
v1.0.5.0 and older: "AndroidBootFolder"=dword:0 (1: boot from \Android\ folder on storage (e.g. \Storage Card\Android\haret.exe)| 0: boot from root of storage)
The example values are the ones that are in the CAB for Internal Storage devices.

There are 5 versions available:
QVGA, boot from Storage Card (e.g. Vogue, Kaiser,..)
WQVGA, boot from Storage Card
VGA, boot from Internal Storage (e.g. Diamond)
VGA, boot from Storage Card (e.g. Raphael)
WVGA, boot from Storage Card (e.g. Blackstone, Topaz, Xperia,..)
Gen.Y DualBOOT v1.0.6.0 CABs (QVGA|WQVGA|VGA|WVGA)
Gen.Y DualBOOT v1.0.6.0 VisualKitchen EXT packages for Chefs (QVGA|WQVGA|VGA|WVGA)
This app MUST be installed on your internal memory in order for autoboot to work. (installing on internal storage/storage card will cause the app not to launch on boot)
Also make sure that all registry entries are correct, since an incorrect/missing registry key can cause errors (v1.0.6.0: make sure the AndroidBootFolder key is a STRING (not dword!)
For chefs: if u are also cooking in RunCC, cooking this app to the \Windows folder is recommended to save storage space (since the progress image are the same)
For chefs: u can make Gen.Y DualBOOT start faster by moving editing the following (be aware, this will not work in all roms!). Open mxipupdate_xdandroid-genyboot_100.provxml, and change "Launch62" to "Launch52" in the following line:
Code:
<parm name="Launch62" value="genyboot.exe" datatype="string"/>
The CAB works for all languages (v1.0.6.0)

Your work as always amazes me, now I can stop looking at the Exeda. Grat work again cant wait
Did I get it right, with this app I am able to choose between android and windows mobile?
And Android works "perfect" on windows mobile devices? I have seen a video showing android on blackstone, and not all of the functions were usable?
Does this works better, now?
If it turns out to be right, this would be awesome :-D
But I will need a detailed plan to get it running on my device :-D

Sorry to be a noob.
Is there a version of Android for the Omnia i910?
I tried searching but came up blank. Also... if so, I thought that downloading the android OS would replace the WM OS. Is this true, or does it just overlap WM, and this app makes it possible to run either?
I know this app isn't WQVGA. I hope it becomes WQVGA.

MODERATOR WARNING!
All of us here are ecstatic that DS is back. This new Build marks the next level in Android Development for WinMo phones. It's a very exciting time but there are a few things we all need to keep in mind.
1) No THANK YOU Posts. Anyone found doing so on high volume threads will be given as infraction. We have implemented a new THANKS button here at XDA. Use that to convey your gratitude.
2) The first few pages of this thread have already informed us of this build being incredibly fast. Everyone knows it now which means NO more "This is so FAST!" posts.
3) There are several issues with this build, which have come to light over the last 30 pages. Check to see if your problem has been listed (Chances are that 999 out of 1000 are already listed). If it is, then you are not allowed to post asking for a solution to the same problem.
4) STRICTLY NO REQUESTS!
Any discussions in this thread have to be limited to the build provided here. No discussions and arguments about the pros and cons of Sense Builds.
5) NO asking for ETA of the next build.
Any deviation from the above will result in an Infraction.

SuperRAM FroYo by darkstone1337

If you don't know anything, SEARCH GOOGLE FIRST.
------------------------------------------------------------
What is SuperRAM FroYo?
- It is an AOSP rom with some modifications added, but kept as close to stock as possible. The only thing that is modified is the keyboard, some menu options and the launcher.
What is special about this build?
- What is special about this build is that the entire Android O/S filesystem is stored in RAM before it is booted.
What does this mean?
- Well, RAM is faster than NAND(ROM) and SD Card which in turn will make the build superfast too! Very fast. Very very fast!
I don't understand what NAND(ROM) or RAM is!
- NAND is a slower memory type (ROM) which is designed to hold data even after the phone is turned off. This is where your Windows Mobile operating system is stored.
- RAM is a much faster memory type which is designed to hold information on a temporary basis. After your phone is turned off, the data in RAM is lost.
- Running Android on your HD2 does not touch your ROM in any way! So when you turn off the phone and turn it back on, Windows Mobile will be loaded. No changes are made to ROM.
Does this mean I'm going to lose the stuff that I put in Android when my phone goes off or crashes?!
- NO. Only the operating system files for this build will be stored in RAM. User data and downloads will be saved to your SD card in a special file called data.img
- Remember if your phone crashes in Android, nothing will affect your Windows Mobile operating system since this build runs off RAM.
What other advantages does this build have?
- Unlike normal builds which are ran from the SD card, this build will not stress your SD card nearly as much. This will allow faster transfer speeds and less chance of data corruption.
- Battery usage will be less than SD card based builds as the operating systems files will be accessed from RAM instead of the SD card.
- Quick android boot!
Something isn't working properly!
- First of all check the build thread by SEARCHING FIRST to see if there is a solution to your problem or if it is already listed as a known issue. If there is no solution and the problem has not been posted by someone else, ONLY THEN should you post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518
- Please include details about the issue, such as how to replicate the problem.

Installation and Setup:
Make sure that you do not have another Android folder on your SD card. If you do, then either rename the folder or back it up to another location and delete the folder.
Copy the folders named Android and media to the ROOT of your SD card. If you don't know what the root of the SD card is, look here: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080521052942AAMW3kA
On your HTC HD2, use file explorer to browse to the Android folder on your SD card. Run the program CLRCAD.EXE (nothing is supposed to show up when you run this program.). Then run haret.exe.
You will now see a green HTC logo on a black background for a couple of seconds, then you will see nothing but a blank screen for a couple of seconds.
After this, you will see the android unlock screen. Unlock the lock screen and go through the setup wizard. After this is done, import your SIM contacts if you have any.
To do this, open the Phone app, press the Contacts tab, then press the Windows hardware button on your HD2 and select Import/Export. Select Import from SIM card. From here, press the Windows button again and select Import All.
If you do not see your SIM contacts then follow the instructions below:
*****************************************************************************
If you are using an existing data.img then you will need to delete the one that you are currently using, and copy over a fresh data.img that is included with this build. If this is your first time booting this build, then this does not apply to you.
- Open the phone app and dial this code in: *#*#4636#*#*
- You should now see a list of menus, choose the one named Phone information.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the 'Turn off radio' button. Wait for your signal to drop.
- Now press the 'Turn on radio'. Wait for your signal to be restored.
- Now change 'Set Preferred Network Type' to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL).
After doing this, return to the home screen (press the Home hardware button on your HD2) then open the phone app again and follow the instructions on how to import your contacts as described earlier.
YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS ON YOUR FIRST BOOT. YOU MUST KEEP THIS IN MIND.
*****************************************************************************
- After importing your contacts, you MUST reboot your phone. If you do not do this, then your data connection will not be enabled.
- Hold down the end call hardware button and select Reboot.
- You will now boot back into Windows Mobile. Run CLRCAD.EXE and haret.exe as described earlier to load Android.
After this, the installation is fully complete and you can now start using Android.

------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
- I have included a 256MB data.img, however you can use any size that you wish if you have your own data.img.
- I highly recommend starting with a new data.img regardless of whether you have used this build previously. There is some changes that may conflict with your current image.
- If you wish to make changes to the build, use the file structure in Android/root/ on your SD card to put your modified files in. They will be copied upon boot. Do not worry if they are not deleted, this is normal.
- After your first boot, make sure to delete the DATA folder on your SD card. It is stored under Android/root/data.
- If you plan to reinstall the build again, make sure to copy back this folder from the ZIP file.
- Robot voice issue may occur when in a call. If this happens, during the call press the LOUDSPEAKER button then END THE CALL. Do this exactly and every call after will no longer have this issue.
- You are left with around 280MB+ free RAM after booting the build. This is enough memory for anything!
- Build.prop is easy to modify, I have included a copy in /Android/root/system on the SD card. Modify this as you with and your changes will be copied over upon the boot of Android. If you mess something up, just delete the file and the changes won't be applied upon next boot. This goes for any file you put in the Android/root/ folder.
- I'm not going to be like other chefs and say "THE BATTERY LIFE IS EXCELLENT I PROMISE" etc. Everyone's setup is different, just test the build for yourself!
- Forget quadrant scores! If you're judging this build by quadrant scores then I pity you. This type of build is different from other builds, yes the quadrant scores may not be in the 2000+ range, but honestly, can you actually say to me that this build is slower than other builds that have a higher score? I sure hope not.
- To delete LauncherPro just uninstall it from the Application Manager! Before you do this, make sure you install another launcher such and ADW Launcher or Gingerbread launcher which can be found from the Market free of charge.
- If you want to remove ads, this is very easy.
- Download this adfree hosts file: http://gamesquare.co.uk/hosts.zip (COPY AND PASTE THIS LINK IN YOUR BROWSER.)
- Unzip this file to the /Android/root/system/etc folder on your SD card. Boot into Android and there will be no more ads.

- The base rom is from AdamG's OxygeN Desire rom which has been modified by myself.
- The initrd and CSSync updates is based on that from cedesmith. However, I've modified the initrd for my own build.
- The PPP wrapper update is from LeTama's thread, version 0.7
- The HaRet loader is custom made by NetRipper, thanks to him for helping me increase the initial ramdisk size limitation!
For developers only:
- The kernel included is hastarin's r8.6 eb_oldcam kernel, this has been modified for my build!
- Kernel source: http://www.gitorious.com/~hastarin/linux-on-wince-htc/hastarins-linux_on_wince_htc

Follow these instructions if you have higher battery drain!
DarkStone1337 said:
Lets see how many people will ignore this...
To fix high power drain / usage in standby (60mA or 70mA) disable 'Use wireless networks' in Settings>Location menu. You will now get 7mA or less constantly. I discovered this as the main culprit last night. Also works in other builds.

Since its aosp its sense-free? (hoping) anyway ..this must be a must have!! Will try soon and do some testing . Oh and darkstone..welcome back
As said on IRC: build works awesome. Quadrant scores even get higher after you boot for the second time. Keep it up!

Viruses, surveys? I've just put ads up to cover server costs
I never put up any virus or survey
But if you're loading entire file system in RAM, it would reduce free RAM that we get after boot? How much free ram we get with it in compare to normal builds? How big entire system for android is?
Download size is 78mb, so I assume it would take about 78mb out from RAM?
Great Work !
will see if you able to put the amazing cedesmith desirehd rom away from my phone.

Yeah - just like you said, straight away got a full screen pop-up ans when I tried to click out of it my AV kicked in immediately with a security warning. Not a very friendly ad provider
Like he says, it boots insanely quickly after the initial boot.
Very nice AOSP build.

Thanks Darkstone,
This build is fast, very fast indeed.
Boot time is the fastest thing i've seen so far.
However i do get robot voice and i can't seem to get rid of it.
Using OzDROID ROM 2.00 with 2.15 radio
few questions:
how much ram is left for running applications ?
is there all of changes made by me in system (install apps, changing settings) will save anywhere ?
is this build for normal daily use good ? Or keeping android in ram making some limitations ?

Ram is usually 240mb+ available after boot, don't worry about that, it's plenty!
Changes to /system won't be saved since android is loaded into ram. If you want to make permenant changes, you can either modify the system file in linux and rebuild the file. Or you can can create a file structure in the Android folder on your sd card and create the folders named Root, Update.
Insert the files you want changing in there and create an update script. The changes will be made upon every boot as long as you have the files stored on your SD card
Your settings and apps are stored to SD card, so all your changed made in Android via normal usage will be saved
Don't mean to be pushy..but are there any plans of a sense version of this build
I don't like stock froyo much and if yes, I will hold out till its released
jan-willem3 said:
The real advantage of this is the boot speed.
The rest of the speed is produced by the intret.gz from cedesmith or am I wrong.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
No not only boot speed, the build is faster overall as it is stored in ram and not on the SD card. Therefore, your SD card will be less stressed, will have more speed available to be used when reading/writing files.
I have HSPL 2.08 and 3.14 ROM, well this gives some problems with low RAM(?) or something. Does that mean that this android rom will run slow(er) as well?
hey im glad you are back Darkstone... but can you display more information about the build...like....
-how to install it
-whats working
-whats not working
-battery life?
-put pictures
-does it have Widgets?
and some other information??
thanks!!

V4.31.44.12
v4.32.44.12 applied with theme from he_stheone64.
Important note:
I create the Desire Series together with freak, and also got a lot of help from many technical experts, so, please thank them as well if you like the build.
This thread is for discussing the SD builds only.
All the releases please check: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=962600.
Please discuss the NAND builds at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913597&page=457
Before flash or install new builds:
1. DON'T expect it will work out of box.
2. DON'T expect it will be as light and fast as Gingerbread.
3. DON'T expect that some legacy problem will disappear
4. Reboot your phone at lease twice after flashing or installing, after 1st boot into setting screen, long press the right button to recall the boot menu, reboot. Can not use /Update_DL method to install app before 3rd reboot.
5. For this version, due to the base has been changed throughly, can not use previous data.img or ext4, remove existing data.img and set data_img=1 to let system generate one for you, or set format_ext4=1 to format your ext4 if you are using ext4
6. DON'T set any config for 1st installation except data_img=1(for data.img) or format_ext4=1(for ext4 user). if your have tmous phone, no need the config.txt.
7. For SD or magldr, if 1st installation failed, must delete the system.ext2 file under /Desire_DL to let system convert it again.
8. Use Windows notepad create a file named config.txt, save it under /Desire_DL, only need to put the necessary config inside it, say:
data_img=1
Important Release Note
This build is another endeavor by freak and me to improve the performance of our build, now, besides our existing optimization methods: squashfs, ext4, etc, this build has been added in the following features to improve it performance furthermore:
1. AUFS + SquashFS.
this is the 1st android version that can support the aufs+squashfs, we
even worked with the author of aufs to make it usable to android.
a lot of innovations within this build from the technical perspective,
for users, the benefit of it are:
a. high performance
b. despite of squashfs is used to reduce the size of file system, user
still be able to change any file directly with the power of aufs.
c. a lot of frequent accessed files are squashed and loaded into ram
to improve the performance.
2. RE-Odexed.
there flood a lot of misleading messages on xda of odexed, same as
squashfs. Odex can actually improve system performance, and at the
same time, reduce the whole system's size(because the odex is
optimized dex), and odex build has less chance of system crash that
lead to wipe the davlik-cache. an odex build doest not generate the
davlik-cache which is odexed.
3. Re-Engineering Sense:
All the apps and framework were re-compiled and reduced the size to get the lowest RAM consuming and Highest performance.
4. Merged DesireZ and DesireHD into one.
Merged the advantage features from both DesireZ and DesireHD into one build.
Please refer to this thread for download and detail info of v5.xx

How to config SuperInit v4.4(advance user)
Bugfix and enhancement
Upgrade to v4.32.45.13 and v4.31.45.13 (yes, we upgrade the SuperInit and kernel together.)
How to ask for help:
1. First, make sure you ask at the proper place, this thread is only for ask the question related to the NAND, please ask questions related to SD or MAGLDR at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881937
2. Please indicate the following information when asking for help:
a. your phone modal: EU or TMOUS modal.
b. your loading mode: NAND, SD or MAGLDR
c. Please post the content of init.log(this file is on the root of your sdcard).
3. Please be patient and polite.
4. We(myself and freak) will only answer question that follows the above rules, thanks!!!
Naming convention
1. the 1st digit is for the build base, say DesireZ v4.xxx, is for the v4.0 base which based on the HTC RUU 1.85.
2. the 2nd field is for the subversion, normally, x.0 means the first relase which should based on a totally new base, and from x.0 till x.3, there will be a lot fix and testing, if you want a stable version, DON'T use it, and the build will be stabilized after x.4.
3. the 3rd field is for the init version, currently, our init is at v42, which is also not a stable version.
4. the 4th field will be used for the kernel, currently, freak is working on it, and will have the 1st kernel soon.

Uploaded by viperd using DL Desire Z v3.5, DL Data2SD/Ext4 v3.0
Since the DL Desire ARA v1.1 was disclosed in this thread, in order not to cause more confusion, have to release it before my plan.
v2.0 is based on Desire HD 1.72, and themed similar to Coredroid.
v1.0 is based on Desire HD 1.84, pure stock version, and actually, the base is much newer and advance than v2.0
Btw, my focus is still on desire z, if you want prompt support or have problem with this build, suggest you try rafpigna or markinus or imilka's, they are all excellent dhd builds.
If you have problem, please post to my test place or ask my testers, I may not be able to visit this thread frequently.
to my testers, I don't mind you disclose my test place to others as long as they are kind enough.

Features:
All my new builds have the following features:
1. All in one package, can be flashed to Nand or boot from SD or Load from Magldr.
2. All the build is squashed, once set the swap_mode=2, can delete the squashed.sqsh file from /system to release 160M space from system, but you must keep the swap_mode=2 untouched.
3. All the build can use Update_DL to update or change anything you want.
4. Equipped with DL Data2SD/Ext4 v3.0 developed by myself and freak, with following features:
-- auto detect and make use of your 2nd and 3rd partitions with high performance
-- auto convert the system.img to system.ext2 for SD/MAGLDR
-- auto partitioning your SD Card once set the format_ext4=9 (need test).
-- format 2nd partition with proper block size of ext4 with format_ext4=1, which is used for data partition
-- change ppp/rmnet with ppp_mode=0 or 1.
-- set you gps zone with gps_zone="your country code"
-- can use Update_DL to update system incrementally, all the Update_DL plugin I previous published(backup/restore, secue) is still applicable
-- the backup/restore can backup and then restore your whole system including: settings, sms, email, etc, you even can use this to migrate your data.img to ext4(set data_img=1 to use data.img and do the backup, and then set the data_img=0 to use the ext4 and do the restore.)
-- once you encounter the boot loop and FC, you can use the rescue plugin to rescue your system.
-- we are now testing the next version of our Data2SD/Ext4 which is more intelligent, can even detect where the system is loaded from(nand, magldr or sd), and your mobile type(EU modal or Tmous) to choose the best settings automatically.
Actually, many builds in this forum adopt part or full of our initrd to provide the high performance ext4 support.

How to install
For Nand:
just extract the Desire_DL and Update_DL(for upgrade) folder from the package to the root of your SDCard, flash.
change the config.txt.nand to config.txt and modify the config in it.
For SD/MAGLDR:
just extract the Desire_DL and Update_DL(for upgrade) folder from the package to the root of your SDCard, answer yes when ask for overwrite.
change the config.txt.sd to config.txt and modify the config in it. (Nand)
or change the config.txt.magldr to config.txt and modify the config in it. (Magldr)
If you encounter mobile data issue, please check here
The first boot will take a very long time, especially for SD/MAGLDR due to system will convert the system.img to system.ext2, need 10-20 mins depends on the speed of your SDCard.
After the install, please reboot your system at lease twice to let the system settle down.
Suggestion changing the kernel to gpc if you encounter any issue.

How to upgrade or change kernel or customize the system
1. more kernel can be found here,
--a. For Nand, just extract the Update_DL folder to the root of your sdcard, boot twice.
--b. For SD, extract the Update_DL folder to the root of your sdcard, and copy the zImage file from /Update_DL/update/kernel_files to Desire_DL, boot.
--c. You can also use the same kernel package, but replace the kernel file with your own under /Update_DL/update/kernel_files. (for SD/Magldr version, the zImage file should be put under Desire_DL)
2. for system upgrade or bugfix, extract the Update_DL folder from a update package to the root of your sdcard, reboot.
3. if you intend to replace any file from the system, use rootexplorer to delete the target file first, then put the file to /Update_DL/root/system..., e.g, if you want to change the framework.res, just delete the origin file from /system/framework, then, put your own file under /Update_DL/root/system/framework, boot.

Hallo, master!
firts of all many thanks for your big and amazing work!
sorry for the stupid question, but if I have installed your DL DesireZ v.3.4, now may just put into the sd root the DL DesireHD Update_DL folder?
and the other folder zipped in (called Desire_DL)??
I'v tested the 1.1 now, and there is stil no mobil-data by me
wifi and all other, I tested runs best.
I started from WinMob in the normal way
what is this??can anyone here tell me??..
Haha, I never think of ppl want so many builds, so unfortunately, you can only run one of my build at one time and rename the other.

I put another mobile data fix in the desire z v3.5 upgrade package under Desire_DL folder, I believe it should be able to solve this issue.

oh... can't be that long, should not more than 15min, maybe you will have to check your SDCard.
or just remove the battery and reload it again.
If still have problem, delete the system.ext2 in the Desire_DL and let system regenerate it.
Are there any major differences between this and DesireZ? Obviously this won't rotate at the homescreen(which I like) but what about other things?
Forget it, I'm gonna try it anyways I'm also trying the new format_ext4=9. I'm using a 2GB SD card, I'm curious to see how well/bad it works. I'm gonna wait about 20 minutes for the boot, if it doesn't finish then I'm rebooting.
Good build but with MAGLDR it is giving me a very bad wake up lag of 5-10 second. Rest everything is fine.
