I guess Barnacle works for you, It did for me with an X10i.
And it's free.

Barnacle works well but I found not all versions with 1.6 so I'd recomend upgrading but if you've rather not just find old versions on the devs website and try them one by one, can't remember which one worked sorry, but hopefully the most recent one will work fine by now.
Think you might have to fill in some of the fields yourself (interface in settings) on older versions but don't worry theres a guide on this forum.

is there is a way to root us beta streak?

Title say it all... I know our euro buddies have it done... anyway I can join in on the party? been to MoDaCo but no info
Thanks in advance,

I don't see why the current Modaco root would not work for the Texas beta Streak. Although I have not tried it myself...

The Modaco root and rom work just fine on my ATT Streak! Just follow all the instructions.

ATT Streak? Do you have an actual ATT streak or just calling your's an ATT one?
Thanks guys... coming from a sony xperia x10a where having different baseline and signal versions messed up the phone i was a bit weary of rooting my streak... thanks for the conformation I will root soon.

Well I suppose I should have clarified and said mine probably is one of the Dell Texas giveaway ones. It did however come with the 3562 rom version if that helps classify it.

All I did is debranded my phone to LAM Generic R2BA026.
I backed up these files before I debranded my phone to Generic.
Did AT&T brand this firmware like crazy?
By the look of the file size posted by the OP, this firmware looks very slimmed down.
The generic 026 NAM weighs in about 124MB in size. This AT&T firmware is only 116MB. I am assuming PlayNow is not there and maybe other stuff.
Anyone install it on their device yet?
il try it
give me some time il throw it on right now il take that back my update app wont let meflash my phone sucks

I only spent 15 min on the ATT software before I debranded it, here is what I noticed
1) phone comes with at least 7 ATT apps
2) ATT boot screen ..DUH!
3) no play now
4) timescape is the same, mediascape has ATT music at the bottom
5) phone only comes with stock Android keyboard
6) google search widget has microphone icon next to it
7) youtube login account finally worked!! didnt work any of the generic firmwares for some reason
8) new wallpapers

Question: Is Multi-Touch on ATT X10a Hardware disable? or Software Disable?
I am trying to figure out, which phone to get, comparing this phone with ATT Captivate.

It were said many times that X10 does not supports Multi-touch, so skip asking around about it.
It is seem the R2C firmware is just a customize for ATT, so sad
I'm quite curious to see anyone debrand it and upgrade it to 2.2...1.6 is soo old for a phone like that..
I asked the people at att and they say it was 2.1..turns out they lied.
Can you post apps and boot screen

You know they always will! Did they even know what you were talking about? I don't think so bro. A bunch of MORONS there. I plan on getting this phone too it looks sexier than captivate.
Did any one have any luck rooting their Xperia x10 on AT&T yet? If so, can you please tell us which of the rooting methods you used? I'm dying to get rid of all the bloated AT&T crap on the stock rom, and put my own on so that I can use the phone to its full potential.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has rooted their Xperia on AT&T and can tell us how they did it!
I used both methods. I used the 5 step (actually 7 for X10a) initially and then redid it with the 3 step for the 026 rom. On the three step I had to edit the third batch file to correct a syntax error.

And this was on the AT&T version of the x10a or a different version of it? If it's the AT&T version, can you tell me exactly how you did it so that I can root my phone as well?
Thanks!

[Q] Are there any downsides to using the Nordic Update method?

I was just wondering if there are any downsides to updating with the nordic method. theres no word yet from rogers about an update yet and I don't really want to wait.
I'm on Rogers and I'm using that firmware. No problems or issues.

Same!!! Its been perfect for me. Im extremely happy with 2.1
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Cool thanks, I might give it a try then
I am on Rogers as well, it's great but I noticed today that I can not do a file transfer over bluetooth like I could with 1.6...can do audio but that's it.
I would suggest maby go for the WORLD GENERIC it seems more stable than the NORDIC maby its just me but after trying the NORDIC when it first came out the WORLD GENERIC seems to be a bit better
note im not on ROGERS Im on VODA in the UK but if your going to do the update try it and see which is best
remember to backup first as much as you can (root your 1.6 and use Titanium backup to backup your apps and data)
World Generic eh, do ya got a link handy for a how-to on that

Rogers' FW update is released starting tomorrow
No problems here at all! I now hear someone has successfully updated their X10 to 2.2 and it is running perfectly as well.

Couple of questions before I decide on getting an atrix.

I am thinking of trading for an atrix and have a couple questions.
1. Whats the latest os stock version number and is it rootable? Sideloading?
2. Has the update been released yet to fix the upload speeds?
3. Is the tethering hack still working with the latest stock build?
The potential deal is a iPhone 3gs and dell streak for the atrix. Thoughts?

1) 1.8.3 rootable wth Gingerbreak and sideloading enabled with Gladenable
Gingerbreak
Gladenable
2) in 1.8.3 there is new modem firmware AFAIK, If not then there is the Modem available from the Telstra Firmware
Telstra Modem
3) Not sure but there is "One Click Wifi Tether available"
One Click Unlock Wifi Tether
there is also a build.prop mod
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057665
Hope that helps
Thanks. Does glad enable work on 1.8.3 doesn't say so on the link you posted. What do you think of your atrix. What are the pluses and minuses? Think the deal is fair?

I don't have 1.83 yet (as it's still in beta, though an SBF has been leaked), but I'd bet the bank GladEnabler works on it (enabling sideloading is a simple and given thing so long as you can obtain root -- it is merely a matter of changing a "0" to a "1" in settings.db).
The deal is more than fair in my opinion. This phone has way (WAY) more processing power than both 3gs and Streak put together.
Sideloading defiantly works on 1.8.3. Just tested it
Note: am using gingerblur and never gladenabled

I don't want to derail this thread, but I keep seeing people saying this. Is it actually the case? Because I got the update last week from the Motorola website, and I was not in any beta test.
-Doogs™
The .83 available now is not a beta file. They have been sending the update out in batches over the last week.
Thanks for the help guys. Yeh I just checked the motorola website and 4.1.83 is on there available for download.
I played with the atrix at at&t today. I like it but feels so small compared to the streak.

baseband .61 and baseband .67 for telstra

hi guys
with the new baseband, i noticed that these are built for x10is, and from what i gathered the rogers update did not update the baseband?
if so is there any performance gains from moving to .61 or .67 for a x10a like mine?
.54 is working the best so far..
any other Aussie testers out there with feedback??
thanks
I cant even flash the new BB to my X10i but as soon as I do I'll let you know
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i gave .61 a quick try before, but it doesn't seem to be better than .54
just want to know if ti's just me
I installed 2.1.B.0.1 lastnight with bb .67 on EW's V001 and it gave me nice d/l and u/l speed, (2200kbps/1500kbps) but this morning my data dropped in and out alot.
I flashed .54 and .58 and it wasn't as fast as it normally is (tested for about 1/2 hour) so it might of just been bad weather or heavy traffic.
Went back to .67 and it was the same as .54/.58 so I'll give it a day to see how it goes tonight and tomorrow.
*edit.... anyone know the APN settings for optus, i can't recieve mms
You have pm LJE.
thanks guys for the feedback
keep them coming
especially if there are other fellow x10a users out there
edit:AT&T update soon, good news for x10a
Finally flashed new bb to x10i and can definately feel a difference in battery life, touch screen responsiveness and less lag

.54 is definitely faster here on the Gold Coast

So are you saying here that the AT&T branded firmware/baseband update would be recommended for Australian X10a users? Or just X10a in general and maybe not for us in Australia?
Cheers.
i think in general
but i do know that AT&T uses the same frequency as Telstra, hence there might be better performance compare to a more x10i centric baseband such as .61 or .67
i haven't had time to do speed test so far
i mainly use .65 now to stay compatible with Trip's ROMs

Well if they use the same frequency them I'd have to say that it would have to be best. (I'm actually on three but they use telstra network so out should be okay!)
Cheers!
I have x10 from virgin, but use 3. Have tried alot of diff.basebands nut .54 is the best. I use trip mui rom, 1.02 and 1.08

I heard that the shared frequently between three and telstra would be switch off next year as a apart of telstra building their 4g network
so yeah ... don't rely on it
Anyways anyone tried. 65? I heard there might be a SMS bug...

Agreed - Cannot send sms.
Going to try .67 next
:EDIT:
So I can sms with .67, but it stuffs up the automatic date/time function somehow.... :S It thinks it's 1/1/2010 @ 11AM :-O
What about performance? When I used it I wasn't very convinced of its performance
