[Q] Set Full screen wallpaper on X10 mini/pro - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I'd been trying to set my pictures as wallpaper but every time I try it, it come up with the square crop suggesting me to adjust where do I need to set as wallpaper. So this end up with only portion of the picture being display as wallpaper.
I'd download some wallpaper specially for x10 mini pro screen size of 240 by 320.
But none of them can set as full screen wallpaper.
1) Any default way to do this that I'm not aware of??
2) If there aren't any, then how about alternative way of doing it to display full screen wallpaper.

Same happens to me, someone can help us ?

Could you direct me to this "wallpaper set"... Is it also an APK which you need to install to run the wallpaper??
FYI: I'd download some wallpapers based on this x10 mini/pro screen resolution 240x320 but I could never be able to set anyone of them as wallpaper in full screen(apart from the top notification section). The phone will ask to crop the picture before it can be display as wallpaper, Thus, this will only showing half of the entire picture.

Wallpaper Set and Save app could be the answer. If you can't find it in the market, just download it thru google.

Will give it a try now.. thanks..

Try This..!!
Hey Bro,
I have a solution..
Download an image of any size ...
And then using paint re-size it to 320*240 and not 240*320..
It works ... Try it...!!!

Try Wallpaper Wizardrii

very easy, install "wallpaper wizardrii" free from googleplay

FFS i have something I want to contribute to this thread but iv lost my old xda account coz my email provider deleted my account due to inactivity -.-
I cant post any images or create new threads and I have to wait 5 minuets between each post.
ill come back after iv spent 50 minuets "spamming" messages like this one just to get a post count of ten
and the I can share my wallpaper tool
"The string you entered for the image verification did not match what was displayed."
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Heres a tool I made to help you find the optimum size for your wallpapers

I'd have to agree with this. It's a very useful app as it has much better cropping options and can resize pictures to fit the screen.

If you're talking about the cropping, dl an app called "Wallpaper Slideshow" which will let you set wallpapers without it cropping them.

You know, I don't know if you noticed, I hope not, but when you go to that site, right underneath the wallpaper you select, it shows what your resolution is, and then below that it has different sizes listed that you can click on, for your screens resolution.
Edit- this response was in reference to the person above saying they needed to resize. I hit "quick reply", instead of "quote", accidentally.

Use wallpaper wizardrii from the market to set it without cropping
I haven't found any actual really good quality wallpapers. So I have started downloading the largest wallpaper size at interfacelift.com and shrinking it to fit 1920px by 1408px. You can also add a bit of sharpening, and these tend to usually come out really really nice.
Use 1920 x 1200 - taken from default_wallpaper.jpg out of framwork-res. After trying a few different things including wallpaper wizardrii and wallpaper slideshow i am now using this rez. No probs at all, just the right size.
I just found out Wallpapyrus from the market and it set the wallpaper without cropping and doesn't eat as much resources as Multi-Live

[Wallpapers] Optimized For Honeycomb! [PIC HEAVY!] [6/30]

Fix For Cropping: Here is the best solution for that problem. Download Wallpaper Wizardrii and install it. Open the app and choose the menu button at the bottom. Select "No Scroll" and exit to your home screen. Now you will be able to crop most of the picture so Batman and Mario's heads are cut off for example. The only downside is that panning will be disabled. This is all we can do until Google comes out with a better solution.
Today I spent a long time trying to make my wallpapers not look like **** on this tablet and got pretty frustrated. After doing some Googling, I discovered you can crop pictures to 1920x1408 for the best possible look in both landscape AND portrait. I'd like to share some of my cropped wallpapers I picked up from Wallbase.net now. I'll continue to add more, too. These work very nicely with the default wallpaper setter. Download from the link. Not the pics! Enjoy!
I've added a second optimized wallpaper pack.
Click Me
And here's a third optimized wallpaper pack. Majority of these use a 1920x1600 resolution so you can decide how much of the top or bottom you want in your background.

Excellent work on these. I do have a question though as I am still learning how the wallpaper settings work:
When you select the wallpaper do you still have to resize the box to fix the whole picture or how does the selection process work?

I still get the option to crop :/ - I thought I could use the entire pic.
Unfortunately, the only way that would work is if you were okay with Portrait looking all jacked up.
EDIT: I found a quick solution that works with all these wallpapers. I'll add the fix to the OP.
yay for mario!

If you use a wallpaper that is the native res of the screen it wont scroll AFAIK.
Allrite thanks guys.. I just want to get rid of the lag when I scroll the home pages. I had a 'still' live wallpaper, and noticed no lag when I scrolled.
BUT
Now, i have a wallpaper of 720 x 1280. Android keeps wanting me to resize. I mean like this as seen in the picture.
So that means the wallpaper still ''scrolls''
Anybody can help me out?

[Q] How to set a 1080x1920 wallpaper--without cropping??

This is my first HTC phone, and I don't plan on rooting any time soon. Running Nova Launcher Prime. I keep running into all these tiny but frustrating issues, one of which is that I can't make custom wallpapers because no app I use will accept a full 1080x1920.
I disabled the notifications bar, so any 1080x1920 wallpaper I choose should, hypothetically, fit to a tee. The problem is, I can't for the life of me set it exactly. I know a bunch of people use Quickpic, but this is what happens when I try it:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
^can't expand the area, no matter what I do--all it does is contract to form a skinnier, longer rectangle. but the actual area of the crop never increases.
I tried the apps Image 2 Wallpaper and Wallpaper Wizardrii, but did not have success with either app. I edited every possible setting, I tried to manually fix the dimensions, I excluded/included the status bar, etc. Nothing worked.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there something bizarre I need to change with the settings in order to allow exact fit with wallpapers? I tried everything both with scroll on and off in Nova (not that it does anything, wallpapers can't scroll on my DNA).
Would like to know as well. Using nova as well although I used the "crop" feature and it got most of the picture in.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to do what you are asking about without the use of an app. Might try Wallpaper Wizardrii. Or get a pic with height resolution of 1920 and larger width, so cropping doesn't affect final clarity.

yeah try the "Image 2 wallpaper" app... sounds cheap and lame but it's perfect for setting wallpapers like you are looking for.
LOL I actually stated that I used Wizardrii and Image 2 Wallpaper . Unfortunately neither worked. Absolutely nothing I've tried has worked, even customizing the height/width in both apps.
Another random thing I noticed--I can't get any of my wallpapers to scroll--is that just HTC not playing nice with apps/launchers?
LoL you totally did. My bad for not fully reading. Smh.

Use "Simple Image Wallpaper" app. Its what I use. Just be sure to look under live wallpapers as its not a static image technically. Thats why it works without having to crop.
Thanks so much! That's exactly what I was looking for . Funny thing is, I got Quickpic to work once, but it never worked after that.

The full scale H x V dimensions for Sony Tablet S and Xperia Tablet S ICS wallpaper images is 1920 x 1280 pixels, but the images must be cropped if they are to be displayed correctly.
Sony explains how to select and crop a wallpaper image in ICS HERE. To the best of my knowledge, Sony has not yet released a video showing how to crop an image in ICS, however, they do show how to crop an image in HC in this VIDEO located at YouTube's web site. Cropping a wallpaper image in ICS is done pretty much the same way as it was in HC.
I provided a wallpaper image template and explained the pixel dimensions and viewable areas of wallpaper images HERE. I hope you find the template and information useful.
I make my own wallpaper images using an image editing program on my PC then copy them to my tablet into a folder I created and named /sdcard/Pictures/Wallpapers. Any images stored in the tablet's /sdcard/Pictures folder and its subfolders can be previewed and chosen via the "Gallery" selection on the "Choose wallpaper from" pop-up that appears whenever you long-press on any blank area near the center of the tablet's screen. You can also get to the "Gallery" selection via Settings > Display > Wallpaper.
Of course, you could always download and install wallpaper apps, but most of them are advertisement based and they never provided the control you can have by making your own wallpaper images and cropping them yourself.
I hope you find my reply helpful.
