fresh firmware install to fix the wifi problem after rooting or upgrade - XPERIA X8 Android Development

hi frens. i am here to share my own experience and solution that i found to solve the problem with wifi due to upgrade to 2.1 from 1.6 and other things which i dont know.i tried following things
editing config file for wifi as stated in x10 forum
flash firmware using bin4ry flashtool
repair using sony eric pc companian
reinstall firmware using sony eric update service
formatting internal memory
using other wifi tools in market to check config and so on
but nothing solved the problem and i tried one thing and it solved
you need to install the sony eric update service
first delete the db folder inside sony ericsson in program file of c drive or C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\ db refer to database of update
then connect your phone and try to update the phone it will say that no update but install the fresh firmware in phone
then turn on your phone and root the phone and install the xrecovery
then in xrecovery inside partation tool use format data format cache and format system option and the reboot .
then it will stuck at boot loop then that what i want to see.
after that turn off the phone by pulling out the battery .
then connect to pc and use update service to reinstall the fresh firmware.
tada wifi problem will be fixed. tested by me .

Sounds like dancing with a tambourine =\

I have never had this bug. over ~12 upgrades from stock 1.6 to stock 2.1 and nothing. i don't know where did u find it =|

Is fix but after rooting the phone is bug again .....
Sent from my E15i using XDA App

what I did was I went from o2 firmware to generic then chinese then generic then polish firmware. Then at the same time every firmware is been rooted so later I got the bugs so this will install the fresh firmware which you have in your computer so this fixed my problem cause nothing in the firmware is been touched from cache data system everything is literally empty so no bug frim previous root. After that I have not rooted my firmware. Now I an in generic firmware not the latest one. 47 one. So even in that firmware I am not getting any problem which I used to get before.

I think I know you've done...you may have actually deleted(full wipe) everything via xrecovery,
I did that once and it kept doing what you described.
Just connect to Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)and reinstall firmware.

Also then leave your phone alone, on charge on wall for a while

well i backed up the firmware whit xrecovery now it doesnt even have that but in order to do what you said i need to make my phone charge right? well my phone doesnt even do that ! :O
flash bb .54 first, wipe in xrecovery, after that reinstall Wolfbreak TW7.
if it can not fix your problem, try to using another charger (with the same micro usb port like original charger).
hope this help
Never mind. Just repaired everything.

Just leave it connected on wall charger for about 45 minutes coz you'll probably know SEUS won't do anything if battery is below 50%. Then do what I said.
I reckon it IS still charging, so even though it keeps rebooting it should still charge.
Finally after leaving on charge you'll need to pull the battery out to turn phone off. Then connect to SEUS in flash mode like normal.
Worth a try, like I said I had something familiar.

He ran his battery down completely and then freaked out cuz it would not switch on.
But if you just leave the phone charging for a hour it will charge and it will switch on.
Not really.. I've actually just tried what he did. I tried to flash bb67, and got a bootloop as he did. I'm using wolfbreaks Rom and it doesn't load up the Rom.
I fixed it by pulling the battery out and then reflashing bb49 which was what I was on before.
Confused..is anyone else managed to get bb67 on wolfbreaks?

Flash WB rom.
Reboot a few times or crash system server.

Help if possible :)

Hello people,
right yesterday i have sold my Xperia x10i and bough my self Omnia 7 Samsung....now after selling the phone i did factory reset deleted all files from phone and i formated my 16gb HC SD hard that i had inside.
Now after i did facotry reset, the guy that bough a phone(my good friend) have next problems:
1.Market not showing all application as it did before.
2.Cant find the Wi-Fi as we all can,and before reset phone found it everytime. So the wireless i used on that phone before i did factory reset is not showing anymore ....
-Now i am wondering what problem could be.Because i didnt do much flashing and so on on Xperia i am asking is it possible to get Market Back showing all apps and make wi fi work again as it did?
-I am using new baseband i am sure it's .61 and new rom that got realsed reacently on the forums...
Baseband is : 2.1.67 and Firmware or Rom w/e is 2.1.b.0.1...
-If i root my phone again and install xrecovery and do a Clear Chache and everything to reset to default and flash the rom or firmware again could that solve a problem? If not please say what i could go.
How about using sues and then root and install recovery again. Probablly quicker in the long run.

It's Unbranded and it's X10i not X10a or so
Flash to any stock firmware and he ll be fine

[HELP]Xperia malfunction

i just unlocked the phone but during the process of flashing the 2.1 firmware the cable popped out if.
after that i got the firmware in, unlocked the phone.
after that if i insert a simcard it will enter in a bootloop, even if the phone detect the signal and makes a call, after a few mins it will crash and bootloop
any idea of what its happening?
I used to think Asa was a rare name and suddenly there are 3 ppl on this forum with that name myself included lmao
Something most likely got messed up when the cord fell of, have you tried recovery through SEUS? If that doesn't work use flash tool to flash the appropriate firmware.

Oh ok, from an anime i suppose?
Well the custom firmware still uses some elements of the stock. So if the custom doesn't overwrite an area that was messed up with it's own configurations you'd still be gimped. So reflashing stock or repair should fix it up for you.
did you have a xrecovery backup?

no everytime i reflash the stock firmware it kills the xrecovery.
anyways now it "works" stlll having problems with the calls, i made a call and it rebooted and to get the phone working i had to remove the sim card.
and after the first call with the other simcard which im using to test the phone, it doesnt get signal anymore...
atleast it "works" but since the phone its for my gf... i want it atleast stable on reboots hehehe
Did u wipe all data with flashtool when u flashed the stock rom?

[Q] Help- Xpiria mini st15i constantly rebooting!

Hi,
As of yesterday, just out of nowhere, my Xpiria mini started randomly rebooting itself in a loop...at first it happened once every few hours and then the phone went back to normal, but now it just happens non-stop, and i can't use the phone at all!
some background:
my phone was rooted and the bootloader unlocked, as a result of solving an overheating issue a few months ago..
so, at first i thought that maybe upgrading the software will solve the rebooting problem, but i couldn't install the upgrade version...i guess because i already messed with the phone in the past it won't let me upgrade it in a "normal" way (tried via pc-companion and via the phone itself).
anyway, i guess i have 2 questions...1. how do i solve the rebooting problem? 2. how do i upgrade the software?
(i don't know much about phones etc, so if you could give me a detailed step-by-step explanation it would be great, and would save many of my stupid questions
please help, my phone is completely useless at the moment...
Use flashtool and flash stock gingerbread or ics firmware. Take a look at the stickies for the firmware and guide about how to do it.

Did everything the guides said, upgraded to ICS which works great, with one "little" problem- the phone only works when connected to charger/pc...
the moment i disconnect it (even when fully charged) the screen goes black and nothing works...it vibrates once when pressing the power button, like it's turning on, but nothing happens...

Wiping dalvik cache won't help, it does nothing, because dalvik cache will be rebuilt on every reboot anyway :good:
So is there any chance solving this or the phone is dead?? :crying:

So you are on ics right now, but it won't boot? Is there any vibration or nothing? Can you flash a custom kernel and enter cwm? Can you charge it?

RIght now it's on ICS..it works fine, but ONLY when connected to a charger/usb..the moment i disconnect the cable it shuts off and won't boot at all, no vibration or anything...the moment i put the cable back in it starts normally and works well...
Just flash it with flashtool. Ics generic can be used for flash.

already did that...still won't boot unless connected to charger.
Are you really sure the battery is okay? Maybe this is the reason? Because if it's bricked up (it=the battery) you can only boot when the usb cable is inserted and you won't get any other reactions...
Maybe you can try another one from a friend and report?

Will not boot

Okay I have seen loots of threads saying that my device got bricked and so on, well my X10 was working fine until I loaned it to a friend, I noticed that the phone would remove the kernel all by itself apparently if I remember correctly, then at one point I mistakenly in recovery formated every single partition, now idk if issue came after that but phone now every single time you try to turn it on it just vibrates once and the after 5sec it starts to vibrate and doesn't stop, it also foes this if you put it to charge after a min or so, also when you plug the phone up to a pc it always is in fastboot without even pressing the back button, now I found another thread from 2010 (dont have link cause im writing from phone) that you must root and downgrade all the way back down to 1.6, but all the files in that thread were hosted in places where the us took down the sites, so I tried using flashtool to flash the original ftf of AT&T 1.6 that shipped with phone and it finishes flashing but it stays with the same issue. Can someone help or is my first android phone dead? Thanks in advance.

hmm.. You can try some things.. on your risk
Charge your phone.
1. Flash X10_aZuZu_Kernel_Downgrade_Generic.ftf
Try to boot. If ok, flash 2.3.3 stock firmware
Or
2. Hotmail is dead.. so you may use this
Old SEUS and others files you can download from my link.
For example, use "UK Generic X10i Firmware (R1FA016)"
Or Working ftf file with Android 1.6 for XPERIA X10
P.S. I'll sent for you PM with key
