Welcome to phiremod for Nook! This rom is based off CM7.0.3, so thanks to Cyanogen and teamdouche for the awesome work.
I am not a developer - I do this for fun - thank your devs for all of their much appreciated work.
Let me make this clear: If you want stock CyanogenMod on your nook, please download it from here. I tweaked it for my purposes, and decided to share it with the community. Feel free to take it or leave it. To follow the progress of CM7 development for the Nook, please see Dalingrin's thread here. If you are a developer of an included app and wish for me to remove it, just let me know.

Your warranty was void long ago, so I am not responsible for any damages you may encounter (though you probably won’t). This is a Clockwork flashable zip only. It WILL erase your internal memory. Please make the necessary backups.
Installation for V6.3:
- NOTE: If you would like to run phiremod off your SD card rather than EMMC, XDA user racks11479 made a nice guide here.
- Flash with ClockworkMod Recovery =)
- Also available via Rom Manager

woo!! Downloading and installing right now!!

"- System fonts are still black (so status bar text/menu setting text aren't readable)"
I'm no themer, but I would think this would be fairly easy to fix.
That aside, it's great to see a new release on the NC scene. Downloading now!

For what it's worth, i'm having the same problem setting up my google account on your rom as I was having on nookie froyo .6.7 with gapps an hour ago. With the same errors in the logcat as well.

sorry for my ignornce but other than market already being in place how is this different from nookie froyo?

Features
- Froyo 2.2.1
- Sudo-Gingerbread theme (ADW)
- Default LCD density of 160 (user adjustable)
- Some larger framework image files for the larger screen
- Miui Music and Gallery
- Droid X keyboard
- gTab simi Clock widget included
- LCDDensity included

Looks nice, just wondering why you wanted to keep the stock launcher that has the phone.apk shortcut on it.
While we have no phone?

do the "read to me" books still work with just the Nook app?

Since not everyone likes to flash to eMMC, can we get a version for boot via SD or failing that instruction for converting it and I will be happy to do the work and make it available.

Notice the OP mentions the use of ADW for the launcher, so this ROM does not use stock launcher. This means that the phone icon is customizable.

Soooo guys dont try to format your sd cards in this rom because it will brick your nook. It wont boot into anything. it wont even boot. Apparently instead of formatting the card it formats the boot partition which is the worst idea ever. Soo learn from my mistakes. I now have a 250 paperweight and no books to read...

Wow very nice.

Before you declare a "BRICK", try this:
Read through the Dummies Guide to Fixing 'My Nook Won't Boot'.
I did it last night and I'm back up and running again. Here's my post for an abridged version of what I did last night: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11374824&postcount=29

*Facepalm* They've said countless times to not format card inside this, plus formatting boot doesnt screw your nook permanently, theres hundreds of threads about booting into CWR and then flashing a restore to stock ROM. I even wrote an entire guide in the general section about what you did and how to fix it. Check it out, its called "Dummies guide to fixing my nook wont boot"

turns out my sd card was faulty, just spent the last half an hour figuring that out. Borrowed one from my dad and ur guide worked flawlessly! Thanks guys... il never lose faith in my nook ever again...

Has phiremod fixed the notification drawer so it takes up the full width of the screen?

If you set the LCDDensity to 220 (maybe 200, unsure though) then it should fill the entire screen. Otherwise, no I haven't.

I noticed that the Gallery behaves weirdly when it encounters an empty album (from Picasa). It hides the empty albums but still occupy the space in the grid, sometimes it stops other albums from loading and makes it impossible to go into those albums.
All is ok after deleting the empty albums through Picasa Web Albums.
been running cm_passion-07122010-001202.zip for 10 hours, all wiped, no major problems here.
Nice Nice.. I'll be giving this a go..
EDIT:

With all of the nightly's and RC1, it takes FOREVER for widgets to load and for SU to grant root permissions to many if not all apps.
Very nice to see this thread as I have been running nightlys for several days.
The latest seems to be the best (122010), very fast, great carrier signal reception. So far I haven't had any fc's. Not a single issue so far. Good job on this one.
Ditto on the SU permissions problem.
Other than that, great battery life, speed and oh my how I missed all of the Cyan goodies when I defected to try another Froyo build.
Thank you Cyanogen and all of the other devs involved in this project!
can i just do a thrid [dammit im 7th] poster thingy ... gonna give it a try !!
Oh, I only did a wipe when I first went from 5.8 to the alpha 1, after that I haven't had to do a wipe.
I am having trouble running Metamorph with this version of CM. It is saying that I either do not have a SDCard in the phone or that there is not enough space. This message appears right after Metamorph is opened. Tried wiping it and even verified that I have over 60mb of space on the phone (metamorph says it needs at least 20mb). Can anyone verify this error? I know there are those who have installed blackbar morph successfully so any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Netlocation has been a pain in my arse ever since Alpha 1, will post a log when I get back to my computer. It will only find my location over wifi, not network.

Anyway, I filed a bug report when I was still on RC-1 about the SU set on boot things, and I starred a report about exchange.
I'm not getting root access anymore, even when manually opening apps (10min after boot). Rebooting doesn't solve it. Are more people having this issue, if so is there a fix for at least getting manual root access after losing it?
EDIT: nvm, got it after 15min of waiting.

Technically you were third, you could start your own topic and be first poster, although I fail to see why this is entertaining.
Most of the nightlies seem to be pretty stable, I'm running the current one and all seems to be ok. Cross-flashing from MCR breaks things horribly but that's not all that surprising. There's still a fair bit to be added in by the looks of things but most of it seems to be pretty stable. Just make sure to keep a couple of generations of Nandroid backups as one of the builds a couple of nights ago broke a few things fairly badly and I had to revert.

GUI is about 50% Done
Running shell commands or su commands works now like it should
Another great Project. I saw that GUI status is at 50-60%, if you would like help with graphics (buttons, etc) send me a PM, maybe I can help you
Hey slade, awesome project again!
I can give you 2GB storage with direct access (eg. mydomain.hu/ROMs/sladefroyo.zip- it is downloadable no need to upload rapidshare, megaupload, etc.) and FTP uploading. It is enough about 20 ROMs. PM me is interested, I think it's easier coding than downloading from filesharing portals, update check is implemetable with editing a text file, minimal traffic on the device.
Edit: of course, for free

does this rom fixed the video decoding?
The video decoding issue seems still exist.
Of course all the same normal bugs are in this rom. It is just the Team-B cm7 with a theme and a couple of apps applied.
Read the OP, this is a softmod version (Google it) . It is a modified version of CM7 Alpha12 that I released as an upgrade to the Stock version with Ribbon ICS style. NOW DO NOT SPAM THIS THREAD. Use the thanks button, no need to post it.

Ya, it brings up the right zip on the PC,
Dont understand. I tried three different browsers and it kept pointing me to the same ,wrong, file.
Thing is I have never even downloaded that other B&N ribbon zip you put together.
running CM7 alpha 12
As stated by Celtic, and I quote:
"It is requested that currently people do not use this build for any other public release until we give the OK for you to do so."
I do not mean any disrespect to you, but please show some courtesy to Celtic as he has shown us. He's put in a lot of hard work and he only made this one request of the community. I fully respect Celtic as a dev and as a person, and I am not trying to bash. I am simply defending Celtic (but not speaking for him), and I know that he does not appreciate the lack of consideration. The request was made to discourage fragmentation and to isolate bugs, and this is aside from the fact that this rom is all Celtic's work with what are essentially free apps bundled in.
Again, no disrespect and thank you for trying to improve our CM7 experience.
Mod Edit: Quote removed, there is no need to quote the whole first post!
I am stuck at step 5.2: It keeps saying "no files found". I have all the files there. But I can't restore from internal sd card. Is there something missing from this how to?
Is your sdcard mounted? If not, pop it out and re-insert it and try again.
Alright OP & post #2 Updated >> added a new link for RibbonICS Transparent Package.zip and added more screenshots and market links.
I just realized the theme has a bug sometimes some window will pop up full transparent, ill try to fix it but after that won't make more updates so it will be final version. I write and share for people that appreciate what it's been done. If you have any issues referring to this mod, then post it up i be glad to help but avoid the off-topic. Thanks

[ROM][SAMMY-ICS 4.0.3]MJ ROM-version 1.3[XWLP7_XENLP3][16.04.2012]

Greetings!
I have decide long enough and here i am, trying to build my own ROM and share with you guys.
I am still new in creating my ROM, yet i wanna challenge myself and try to have fun with it. To be honest, it is harder than i thought with no complete tutorial out there.
I am planning to start things slowly and learning as i go along. Thus, i start with the basic, modifying stock ROM, and de-odex them. Clear all the bloatware or what i think is not necessary.
Please take note this is just a trial. If you are interested, do try out, and let me know how or where i can improve. I am noob, please don't flame me.
Current Release
MJ ROM: Trial Version 1.3 - 16.04.2012
Firmware: I9100XWLP7
CSC: XENLP3
Kernel: current LATEST Siyah Kernel v3.1rc4 (dual boot supported )
Coming Soon:
add in call recording feature
add in toggle bar - Postpone! Seems like Lidroid method will supercede my translucent status bar.will fine other method to make both thing works.
planning to switch launcher, as i am not too fond with Apex (suggestion please)
create my own logo (might take times, still figuring out)
Beats audio, anyone? (some claim it doens't work, does it? )

Bugs:
Not everything is perfect, though i expected a perfect ROM to ease everyone. However, there are some minor bug i encounter. Not a big deal.
- Keyboard not poping up at the initial setup the ownership of the phone
solution: i realise it takes time for the ROM to load up the keyboard (maybe due to language change from netherland to english - united state issue). what i do is, i just press back and forward few time, and the keyboard will initially pop up. don't worry, it just happen the very first time android setup. no more issues after that.
- Messaging app cannot use
solution: i suspect this is Apex Launcher issues. just delete the dock bar Messaging shortcut. Drag and put the new Messaging app from app drawer and you are good to go.

LP7 it's not AOSP man ! it's SAMMY-based.
by the way, welcome here and good luck in this jungle.
for the beginning, try to post some screenshoot, of course to full root your rom, choose a sympathic theme, put call recording and the new siyah kernel.

thanks man! btw, is it legal to use theme provide here? can i use the mod they provide here? i scare i violate the rules or whatever copyright thingy.
U can use themes, apps and other mods from developers just ask their permission first and credit them in your op.
About supersu, you need to install(push) binary for it to work. Think it's binary is a xbin file, but not sure ask in chainfire thread.
anyways good luck with your project

thanks for your hints and advise. really appreciate it.
edit: i think i found the reason on why my custom ROM is not rooted. it seems like i am using stock ROM unrooted, that's why it is not rooted. base on my research, i just have to flash the stock ROM, root it, flash kernel and old bootloader. back up, and start cooking afterward. correct me if i am wrong.
anyway, gonna try it tomorrow. used almost full day in trial and error, at least i can flash and run my first trial.

[ROM] [N1] Evervolv Kitkat 4.4

Presenting Google's latest treat. Android 4.4 Kitkat.
What is Evervolv?
We are an AOSP port aimed at Snapdragon powered devices.
Our rom includes all the basics:
Extended PowerMenu
Battery %,
Volume button music control.
Trackball Wake
Theme manager
Unique additions include:
sixbar signal strength
lockscreen dialpad, and a few lockscreen mods
However our biggest feature is the ability to turn all that off with one switch in the toolbox, giving you 100% aosp look and feel.
We also do eng builds (instead of userdebug like everyone else) providing more open experience (ie adb root by default) and full complement of commandline tools (busybox, vim, ssh, curl/wet with ssl support!)
Our newest addition is a custom updater written from scratch by Preludedrew and myself, featuring automatic update checks, support for downloading gapps, and advanced automatic install (TWRP and CWM supported but TWRP prefered)
Notes:
Superuser is in the toolbox.
Some display issues.
wifi hotspot (tether) is broke
4.2/3 issues carry over:
data (3g) might be unstable
no camcorder
no usb tether
Everything else should be fine.
Gapps:
available in updater ( source http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857 )
STOP!! NOT FOR STOCK HBOOT
Q: What is blackrose? A: DON'T download if you don't know http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1270589
About space constraints. Kitkat is the biggest android to date. To save space the following apps have been removed from the system img.
VideoEditor
Calendar (can download GoogleCalendar from Market)
Email/Exchange (use gmail or flash attached zip to add them back.)
QuickSearch (replaced by GoogleSearch in gapps anyway)
Only including newest sounds package (Ringtones/Notifications/Alarms)
No bootanimation
If demand is high enough i am open to adding Calendar back in. VideoEditor is out for good its just way too big. I have attached a flashable zip containing Email/Exchange if you need it, at 6mb they are also too big to put back in by default.
If you have other ideas of things to remove, feel free to comment. Obviously any evervolv apps are not going to be removed so don't even ask.
Download:

Evervolv version 4.0.0
Squished package should fit (with gapps) on 250MB /system
Nightlies will return soon.

Holy crap man! This is amazing. Great Work!
WOW.... That is just amazing... I was thinking about that this morning... Haha! Well Done. Thanks very much. Will have a try now.
Does not appear to be working with ART (I get a bootloop) This is on a 250/10 system partition, do I need larger for ART? This is both with and without gapps.
Still, awesome work!

I believe ART only works with odexd (user) builds
EDIT: I tried a user build. ART is broken on that as well.
SUCCEEDED...
This deserves to be on the XDA portal. C'mon guys vote for it!

Just flashed the ev_passion-4.0.0p1-perdo-squished.zip and can't believe how smooth it is. Very good job!
One major problem I find is that I cannot screen capture using ddms and there's is no "preview" on "recent" (long press home button). So I wonder if it is due to the display driver isn't quite fit to this ROM.
Here's logcat when I tried to take screenshot using ddms:
Code:
11-24 15:43:03.219: E/libgenlock(125): perform_lock_unlock_operation: GENLOCK_IOC_DREADLOCK failed (lockType0x1,err=Not a typewriter fd=80)

This is a humongous job, many thanks Texasice, i was was hoping for a full working camera/camcorder app, do you think we have a chance?

Great stuff here! Looks like Google Maps is acting right as well.
For some reason my notification bar stopped working though, no notifications are coming through and I can't get it to show the settings panel. Also the home key doesn't seem to do anything.
Other than that, so far so good!
i play this rom about 12 hrs, this only no work is : hotspot(even in open), screen caption, camcorder.
others just perfect, this is the best rom ever.
the six bar signal change to 5 bar are work perfect
long press home key go to "recent app"

I think the problems I was having were caused when I installed gapps and somehow the phone got partially stuck in the setup mode where those functions are disabled. I reformatted and tried again (making sure to install gapps before booting) and everything seems fine.
