i am using both timescape and facebook android app in my X10
Facebook app allows me to chat and other stuffs but doesn't allow me to type more than 160 chars in status update.(check it out if u haven't yet) whereas timescape allows me to type more chars and at the same time when we update in timescape, it says 'via sonyericsson X10' in fb.
But the problem is. since i am using FB via android app and timescape, i am having two FB accounts in each contact of ma phonebook - same ones repeated twice.
(one says Facebook-my mail id and other facebook- timescape)
is there anyway in removing timescape integration with the phonebook?
just uncheck on the settings to phonebook not to synch to fb android, while check synch to timescape.
if you just want to remove your timescape facebook on your contacts just go to your contacts, then on the upper left hand side next to the search button, click the button with the three heads, then under display contact click the facebook timescape and a drop down menu will show and uncheck the contacts.
I tried that too, all contacts under timescape is unchecked, but still when i go to edit contacts i can stil see two fb accounts and when viewing a contact also, there are two mail ids and phone nos.

I heard that facebook application updates its contact display pic with facebook display pics ? Mine doesnt do so , is that because of andriod 1.6 or somthin elc stopping to do so? any other software which does the same?
go to contacts, press app button, show updates and you can select either facebook, twitter or both (you need to link the contacts from phone and fb)
to link contacts, go to timescape, look for the contact spline, click on the infinity button, addcontact, and select from your contacts list
I have sync my phonebook contacts with facebook have a few problems
1. i go in to edit a contact and it says (Facebook contact info is not editable on this device) or i get Timescape Plugin Manager contact info is not editable on this device
2. synced photos are of poor quality and blured

I think the faacebook info is read only - there's no sync back to facebook account, but you can import to the phone. I don't know if it helps, but I was having a similar issue trying to add facebook accounts to my phone contacts. I ended up pressing the "3 people" icon in top left of contacts page, then under "Display contacts" select "Phone contacts" and "Facebook" contacts (note you may have facebook twice, once for your timescape and another for facebook app???). Anyhoo now you can long press a phone contact and join the facebook contact with your phonebook contact.
I couldn't find a way of even copying and pasting the facebook contact email address into my phone contact, as I said, it seems to be a one-way sync! I'd be pleased to be proved wrong ....
When the original software in the phone book Up X10, synchronizing contacts facebok people just added the forum settings guide rom, I installed 2.2 coming to facebook gmail contacts does not guide people tick box is not selected settings, contacts, how do we do to facebook
Syncronizing contact via timescape is not avaliable on 2.2 yet. You can try it via Facebook application. but at that time contact pictures are blurry.
You can try this theme for a small but quality display pictures on phonebook.

well i flashed to coderom v2x-2b but this rom doesn't includes the default sns accounts integration for facebook and twitter contacts, i already tried moving snsprovider.apk and snsaccount.apk into system/app with root explorer, but the option in the accounts and syc menu aren't there...
maybe because this rom is deodex? can someone help me?
what i did is downloaded Friendcaster for Facebook frm market..
so can sync the contacts with the phone..
and for calender reminders Friendcaster notifies me whn the event is trigered..
so pretty much does the trick for me..

EDIT: Even Facebook for android would also do the trick for contact syncing.. if u are not much concerned for calender events..
i am going to try but... i installed the facebook app and it haves contact sync, i can see my contacts display pictures in the contacts list but i can't see those display pictures when someone calls me.
didn't knwd that... i m using fullscreen caller id.. so didn't knwed about the stock incoming screen..

"Sync existing contacts only" doesnt work. Mine just syncs all my FB friends numbers to my phone.. and doesnt even update the contacts picture on phone..
same problem....but some contacts were updated and some others not
i have had this problem as well, and there is a small work-a-round when in the contacts menu i go to Options > Visible contacts > Edit , and simply only have the desired contacts show up.
as for your picture problem, i have always done this by hand simply merging the contact with the corresponding facebook account
Yeah thats a workaround, but then when you start typing receiver in text messages for example, random people from facebook with number pops up.. kind of annoying.
SyncMyPix, is a app that does the job but i would want FB native app to do the job..
If anyone knows, please share!
