[Q] Audio/Video Sync on camcorder when running kernel with voodoo sound - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm currently running on Trigger 2.1.1 with a kernel with voodoo sound support and I am having an intermittent audio/video sync issue when recording in HD (not sure with resolutions below HD as I only record in HD )
This issue only happens when I have hi-fi record oversampling checked/ticked. Turning it off brings the audio/video sync to normal level.
Any of you guys having this issue as well? And does ticking hi-fi record make a real good improvement compared to when it's not ticked?
Thanks.

Voice communication sound quality issues

I am having an issue with sound quality out of Acer Iconia A501 tab with Honeycomb 3.2 installed (ROM Harkon 1.0, KERNEL HoneyVillian 3.7). Unfortunately I didn't test it with the stock ROM.
The problem: voice sound in video/voice chat software (Skype, CSipSimple etc.) is of very poor quality (very low volume and very high amount of background noise, as if i'm talking from a closet). The same is true for various voice recording apps.
The only exception so far is TapeMachine.
If I use a _wired_ mobile phone headset AND record using TapeMachine with AutoGain turned off and Input gain set to +20dB, the voice recording is of very good quality, clear and loud. But with the same headset the sound through Skype Echo Test Service is awful. A strange and a very disappointing thing is that with a built-in mic the same TapeMachine settings do not produce any change in voice quality - it was still awful.
Sound Meter reports my background sound (with the headset) at 40dB when silent and 65-70dB when talking.
My understanding of the issue is that starting with API Level 11 (Honeycomb 3.0) voice/video chat software uses android.media.MediaRecorder.AudioSource.VOICE_COMMUNICATION audio source, which is a "Microphone audio source tuned for voice communications such as VoIP. It will for instance take advantage of echo cancellation or automatic gain control if available. It otherwise behaves like DEFAULT if no voice processing is applied."
And it seems like it's not working very well.
My question is: could somebody, please, develop a hack that would allow tweaking of system wide echo cancellation and automatic gain control settings if that's at all possible?
Or is there any other solution?
Thank you!

[Q] Stereo audio recording in CM

Hi
I'm using CyanogenMod 10.2 official nightly (20130104) and when i record a video, only have mono audio (recorded with the bottom mic), despite video properties says it have two audio channels (stereo). (I saw them using MediaInfo on my PC). Before install CM i had Chameleon 3.0.4 rom with Samsung stock camera, and the audio recording on videos was in stereo. I also tried CM11 Linaro by _infected, and the Focal camera app on 10.2, but is the same thing.
This "bug" is due to camera libs, camera app, audio libs or what? is possible to implement stereo audio recording in CM roms?
Thanks in advance

Ihave the same issue on CM11 and Boeffla-Kernel 2.2. Where is a problem with record a stereo audio on camera app, and on any app for voice recording (like Easy Voice Recorder Pro)

record audio through camcorder mic

i can't seem to record audio through the camcorder microphone using any audio recording apps (i've tried easy voice recorder, recforge and field recorder) though the sound is fine through that microphone when i record video using the camera.
when i use an audio recording app, the sound through that microphone is just garbled, glitchy mess. i get the same results whether i record in stereo or mono, and in both stock rom and custom roms.
i used to use my old i5800 as a sampler all the time using easy voice recorder, and never had problems.

Low Audio Issues

I'm thinking of getting the 7.1 as a second device,I had the the 7 plus but it had issues with audio, specifically if you were using Snapchat or Whatsapp to record audio, the playback of that audio would be extremely low,
Is this an issue with the 7.1 ?

recording games with internal audio

i am using AEX for mido, the latest one, but i can't seem to record internal audio. if the option is toggled off "won't include audio from microphone" the audio of the recorded video will be muted and if it is toggled on "will include audio from microphone" the recorded video will have poor audio. i think the recorder with internal audio works fine if used in stock rom. is it really not implemented in custom roms such as AEX or LineageOS? what are the other alternatives for me to record video with internal audio from games?
thanks in advance
