A japanese rock garden just in your pocket. To relax and meditate creating the beautiful symbolic representations of natural landscapes on your device
The japanese rock gardens or "dry landscape" gardens, often called "Zen gardens" were influenced mainly by Zen Buddhism and can be found at Zen temples of meditation. Though each garden is different in its composition, they mostly use rock groupings and shrubs to represent a classic scene of mountains, valleys and waterfalls taken from chinese (and later also japanese) landscape painting. Now you can have these symbolic representations of natural landscapes using stone arrangements and sand on your mobile.
You can download a freeware "lite" version, while if you want to upgrade to the "pro" version you have nothing else to do than sending me a small donation to say "thank you", and i'll send you the cab via mail.

Nope. I've tried when the app was in early stage, but the result, in such a small resolution, was really, really poor. So this time i decided to drop (w)qvga

You never, EVER cease to amaze me! And just when I can totally use some zen

Thanks, Dorothy!

Anyone got one? A few questions...

Hi there,
For anyone that has/used one of these I've got a few questions if you'd be able to answer...
1. Does the camera have a decent sounding speakerphone?
2. I presume it uses Opera as the web browser?
3. How does this feel in the pocket? I'm so unsure about the slanty bottom as if it is in the pocket, surely it doesn't feel that good?
4. Again, the slanty bottom... Does it make it hard to text in landscape mode?
If anyone has this and is using it, can you give us your feel compared to other phones. I have a Touch Pro 2 at the minute, and want to base this android vs windows mobile as they have more or less the same hardware.
Thanks
Hi there,
I do *not* have a Hero, waiting for its release...but I was at a local store today and they had dummy handsets, correct weight and size.
I asked to put one in my jeans pocket to see how it felt, and it was fine. I thought exactly like you but trust me, you cannot feel any major diff from a non angled phone.
That issue will be fine for you, trust me on it.

Getting it from Expansys, think you've seen my other post...
Why would it use Opera?
I think it uses the more or less 'default android browser'. I didn't even hear of an Opera version for Android.
And for the rest, mobile-review has an in-depth review of the Hero, and a two-part look at Android (the Hero is the first Android device in Russia).

1. Played with both a white and Graphite handset... both felt extremely solid, had a great weight to them and build quality was superb.
Screen very responsive (along with the UI) and great visual quality.
Feel of teflon back was very soft and quite grippy. Both units have the coating. Prefer the white handset personally, but the graphite was also very very nice.
Metal trim around screen a great touch.
Feels a solid, comfortable quality product in the hand.
Easily pocketable, no issue with 'chin'. Not that I thought there would be.
2. No problems using the most excellent on screen keyboard landscape or portrait with very subtle haptic feedback. Accuracy of hitting the right 'keys' was not an issue, the keyboard seems to second guess what you're writing and offers very sensible and logical suggestions. Just hit space or suggested word to continue typing and have the word auto completed.
3. Browser very fast scrolling and multi touch with text re-flow makes most sites I visited a breeze to read. All appeared rendered very well.
Do I want a Hero ???
Oh YES

Where did you have a play? did they have any stock available?
It was not in a retail location. If it was I would have bought one there an then
The thing that still sticks in my mind is the quality feel the product has.
Nokia REALLY is screwed if this is what is appearing on the market. They are still delivering Nseries creaky plastic rubbish with an ancient UI... S60 5th Edition looks and works in such a dated way compared to Hero and iPhone 3GS.
N97 - the great amazing S60 handset... PAH.
Apple seriously have competition now hardware and UI wise. The availability of good quality apps is now the battleground.
What did you think to the speed then? Honestly? Was it fast loading messages, calendar, going into new applications? Or is it quite slow which I seem to be seeing on more and more YouTube apps.
Cheers

Found a Great App for 2010 World Cup

Hey Guys,
Found a great app for the 2010 World cup over at:
greendoorapps.com
Worth a look on all WVGA devices, diamond 2 or HD2
Gave my friends the fright of their lives
what makes it so great?
Sorry OP, passing an annoying vuvuzela soundmaker app for a WC2010 app is blasphemy!
I found one, but it's in some combination of Chinese and German... If anyone can figure out where the laguage files are it would be great!
As anoying as it might be to some...
You should be part of a group... or around at the moment in South Africa to know...
It is a LOT of fun!
World Cup is Going to Rock... can't wait to watch the first game!
They now posted a cool Anchor Man App...
funny

So, last year while Inter Milan was in the US, I went to see their all 3 games against Club America, Chelsea and AC Milan. All around me people with the annoying vuvuzelas, all blowing them, not to mention vendors selling them!
See, not having a soccer culture, or any culture at all for that matter, the US adopts whatever seems cool and interesting, prime examples of which are the famous drinking days of St Patty's, Cinco de Mayo (Cinco de Drinko) and Oktoberfest. And since there is absolutely NO soccer culture whatsoever, they'll adopt whatever too... and the stupid vuvuzelas are no exception. Sorry but their usefulness in a game is as necessary as a crotch protective cup is for Superman.
They dropped the price
Heya...
I see they dropped the price....
Worth the buy now...
Going to get myself a copy too
Recommended South Africa 2010 World Cup app
Searching at different places, I found a FREE South Africa 2010 World Cup application called, of course, "World Cup 2010".
In my opinion, this applications has all necessary features: nice and clean interface, fixtures and news and scores that can be updated.
According to the author, the application is free because is a "proof of concept", that uses Windows Phone 7 panoramic UI.
It has a minor problem, because left-right swift only works at the top of the application, but everything else is working perfectly on my HTC TD2.

[GAME] Wheel 0.4.3

Wheel 0.4.3
Let me introduce you my new platform game for Windows Mobile, playable at Pocket PC 2002 and above (yes, really). I’m not a big fan of apps that works on one display resolution only, so the game is screen resolution independent (you can play on QVGA or WQVGA), however it looks best on the HVGA, VGA and WVGA screens.
The most important is that you can press more than one virtual button on you classic resistive screen (as it was capacitive), which makes this type of game comfortably playable even without hardware buttons. Nice, isn’t it?
What is the game itself all about? You control small robotic wheel (which was actually wooden in non-public releases ) chased by devil from outer space (or something like that) who wants your score (but not you life). Score is obtained by collecting yellow stars.
There are no levels, there are dimensions. In each dimension, you have to found interdimensional gateway, which takes you to the new dimension, similar to the previous one, or to completely different. Red arrow accelerates the devil (red aura), green arrow slows down him. Green sprout accelerates your wheel (blue aura), but only for limited time. Also, in the beginning of every dimension, you will get little bit of extra speed, just like when you die and are resurrected.
To save your game, use X -> SAVE. In main menu, use CG to continue.
The game is not yet entirely completed (and I’m not fully convinced if it is worth finishing since Windows Phone 7 are coming). Even so, let me know of any problems, ideas or thoughts. I don’t promise anything, but it could help to make the game better.
Note: I know it's ironic, but the multitouch effect can't work on HTC HD2 because of it's real capacitive screen.
Note 2: The game does NOT use any "multi-touch SDK", as stated here (I don't know why the author wrote it).
The game is completely free for your personal use, although it can be downloaded from the following site ONLY (I know it's annoying, but be fair and respect it):
DOWNLOAD
I hope I haven't forgotten anything and that you will enjoy the game .
(As you probably noticed, english is not my native language so I’m sorry if I have written anything funny .)
AWESOME GAME!!! Works great on my GSM treo pro. No lag and the multitouch is really nice.
Yes, it's really cool !!!
thx !!!
Thanks for your hard work! Nice game...
nice. but please keep a graphical update in mind
I tried your game on my XDA Flame (VGA with WM5).
Must say I'm impressed -especially with the multitouch. Too bad we dont see this in other games!
I'd like a bit faster scrolling and some in-game sound or tune..
Keep up good work plz!
Thank you all for your positive reactions, I am sincerely delighted and a little bit surprised .
I know about poor graphic. I’m not very good at creating it . If there is anyone who wants to help me, I’m enclosing the main graphics files. Transparent color is magenta (R = 255, G = 0, B = 255).
If someone creates something, post it here and I will try to build the game with it .
Good that i still have my Toshiba E830. Will try it tomorrow.
it looks great. One problem on the HD2 - since it is capacitive instead of pressing both keys you need to utilize the resisteive multitouch trick you impoy. in other words, to do multitouch on the HD2 you need to single touch between the two directions you want to go which is actually a little confusing in practice because you need to remember the variables. it does seem to be pretty nice otherwise.
nice game, good design for control
Very, very strong arcade feeling
Graphics may not be top notch, but it fits perfectly with the kind of game, my only glitch is that, no matter my HD2 being obviously multitouch capable, I still cannot press two buttons at the same time... maybe it's because I have LMT installed which "steals" multitouch from the game?
@bugsykoosh
just read your post, nevermind I can play by pressing the middle area, yes it is somehow harder to get the hang of it,m but after that, it kicks in my genetic adversity for arcade games, I die no matter what
Thanks for testing on HD2. I don't know why I didn't get i sooner, but it naturally can't work on real capacitive screen of HD2. I'll add it into the first post...

Thank you very much for your game, RDT!
It is really the kind of games I like to have on my Touch HD: simple but addictive!
I've created a post for your game on a french website by translating your post to french.
I've respected your choice not to create any mirror download link, and people will have to download it from your website.
Again, thank you very much!
You're probably in the last dimension, the hardest one . I created a video showing how to complete it .
2 michoob: Thanks for writing about my game, I really appreciate it .
The game is a platform where we help our wheeled robot to travel through dimensions and avoid obstacles and enemies.
i guess you have to think about a good story of this game. For example: a little dragon that tries to escape from his bad father or something like that. Make a nice story, and that will be the begin of a nice game
But, when you say I can tap onm two places, do you really mean it? I mean, I am using it on HTC Gene as well as HD2. Double touch not working on HD2 is fine. But I can't make two touches on my Gene too. What's wrong?
dakujem - thanx
gr8t stuff
Playing this game almost after year and a half. Nostalgic. Great work! For those who are curious, I have still maintained my Gene along with the other devices.

Football Manager Handheld

Football Manager is finally making it's way from iOS to Android! It'll be out on Wednesday and needs support and feedback to get a skin to fit our tablets! If your a fan of the old Championship Manager series it's a lot like the versions from 2001 in terms of complexity. I played the original iOS release and thought it was superb.
To clarify - the game will be released on wednesday and will work fine on any device with Android 2.2 (or above) and a resolution of 480x320 (or above).
However on certain devices it won't be wholly full-screen, that is it'll centralize the largest skin available within the devices screen (it can't stretch the user interface as it makes the text rendering look horribly blurry).
Post release we'll be listening to feedback from users and will create additional skins based upon the most popular requests from our user-base.
Hope this helps,
Marc Vaughan - Sports Interactive Ltd
Marc.
The game basically stays in the middle of the screen leaving large black border around all sides.
Deffo could use a skin to expand out onto the screen.

This game is awesome !
I did the first 3 challenges (save the club from relegation, finish the season with most of the player being hurt, and finish the season with many player unhappy) Great great game !
I hope that further updates will includes some new scenarii... i've to admit those first 3 were pretty easy using Man City due to the amount of International player they have.
I'll give it another try with another club to make it more difficult.

Visible Body Medical App on Android

Hi everyone Noob here,
Just wondering if anyone has tried the now famous Visible body app on Android that was just released in the Amazon market place a few weeks ago.
I'm thinking of getting it, but I've been so disappointed with medical/anatomy applications on android platforms that I'm skeptical. I've tried others: Blausen 3d, anartica, etc.....non have reached there potential. Visible body is ranked the best app for ipad etc....
My device: samsung galaxy tablet 10.1 rooted
By the way if you're a medical profession/student with an android tablet a must have is touchscreentune app with a Adonit Jot Pro Stylus. It truley makes your tablet useful in the hospital

It looks just like Google Body, which is free. Have you tried it out?
Visible Body, Zygote Body, Biodigital Human
Looks like zygote body (formerly google body) but there are alot of differences.. I went ahead and got Visible body from the amazon marketplace for my galaxy tablet 10.1. At first I was hesitant because I assumed it would probably be optimized more for the Kindle Fire than a larger tablet, but the app still works great. I really don't get why they don't include the app in google play... perhaps they will soon.. The app runs smoothly throughout. The app is simply classified according to organ system and location with the use of thumbnails to search. One can also simply click on a specific body part and choose othere areas to make transparant or hide all together. The layout is the best I've seen of all the human body apps i've tried thus far. Although there was some lag when bringing up some body sections, the lag tendency seemed to increase only in body sections that included more than 2 organ systems in a given thumbnail.. For example if I choose a coronal slice of the abdomen that includes elements of the digestive tract (stomach, intestine, pancreas), skeletal vertebrae, nervous system and parts of the blood vasculature, the app seems to have more trouble loading the various systems together and slows down when you try to zoom, rotate or select certain body parts. However this is only a small quibble as the app seems to work faster the longer I'm analyzing particular section (perhaps this is only a loading issue).
As far as human anatomy/physiology apps in general go, visible body is the most well rounded out of the 3 I consider legitimate....the other two being zygote body (google) and biodigital human (both which are free and webbased). The biggest advantage of visible body is speed. Since it is a fully downloaded app, all the information is in the system so no need for internet connection/browser issues. The rendering and layering effects are best this way and most areas of the body are included. Zygote body is very slow to load even in a webgl/html5 supported browser like google chrome. Biodigital human was moderately faster but still lagged in speed in comparison to visible body. I want to include that I was able to find a very early version of google body on some obscure website which included the entire application. It worked great, fast and very accurate. Unfortunately it only included the female anatomy with barely any labels.
One issue I have with all 3 apps are detalied information. Granted, me being a medical student, I'm more detail oriented than some who want to use the app just as a reference.
Google/zygote body is the worst in this aspect. If you visit their website, type in a search for the human eye and you will know what I mean. It will lead you to the general area of the eye and bring up "eye lashes" You would think that with an organ as profound as the eye there would at least be a label for. One benefit of google's system is the search function, but with few body parts labeled and no reference information included, the app seems more like an unfinished digital version of a cadaver in anatomy class that I have to pin myself.
Biodigital human is probably the most complete our of the three in terms of level of detail and references (Using the eye example again ) I was excited to see that when I search the human eye, the app was so detailed as to include the different areas of the eye including the lens, vitreous, iris, and each selection brought up a list of related disease specific to that area, as well as a link to some internet rescourse (mostly wikipedia). It's graphical detail was also the most complete. For example, a search of the human retina showed details of even the central retinal veins and arteries drawn in on the retina within the graphics of the retina itself. This is something that zygote body, and even visible body are no where close to. I was actually looking forward to using this app above all, but sadly it only works only on desktop (the version I tried) or on a tablet with an advanced browser like google chrome beta (haven't tried myself) on Ice Cream Sandwich. The app requires web gl/html5 and advanced graphics to work and no current android browser on honeycomb tablet supports it's advanced graphics (I tried Opera....no luck)
So for now Visible Body it is and I'm not disappointed, Biodigital Human, when it becomes available on android as a regular app is my next must have. sorry for being so long, but nobody seems to go into detail about medical apps on the internet (besides imedical apps....which they focus too much on ipad related applications)
