[Q] Superclean 2.5 broke LauncherPro - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just flashed the new sc 2.5 and now my LauncherPro app will not let me make any changes that require a restart. It has happened before and i fixed it by deleting /dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher in root explorer, but it is not working now. Any suggestions?

Hmmm, it's working fine for me. Did you wipe before you flashed sc 2.5? If so, did you try uninstalling LP and then reinstalling it clean?

I wiped cache and dalvik cache, i think it might have something to do with the VA Green theme because it has themed widgets and the apk is in system/app instead of data/app. It will not let me completely remove it because everytime i delete anything to do with it in Root Explorer, it goes right back.

I would restart. Wipe data, not just cache and davlik and let's see if that helps...

I somehow got it working so I'm just gonna leave it for now and not mess anything up.

I wiped everything before installing and then restored my apps with Titanium Backup. Launcher Pro is working perfectly. No theme installed yet.

Same thing happening here. Going to wipe data and see if that solves it.

How exactly are you transferring them to your sd card?

Can you elaborate a little bit on exactly what happens? Do you mean the apps are uninstalled, or that they just don't appear in the launcher right away? Whenever you have apps on the SD, when you first boot it does take a few minutes for them to show up in the app drawer, since the system has to rescan the SD card and make sure everything is still there.
Same thing happened to me today. I'm rooted and was previously running one of the few 2.2 roms compatible with DL09.
In Adryn's new 2.8 thread, he stated that SC2.8 was compatible with DL09, so I decided to give it a try. I restored my apps via TB, making sure to restore "apps only" (no system data). All was well until I rebooted today in an effort to get Voodoo enabled (kept stating "enable on next reboot"). After rebooting, I now have 0 apps in my app drawer.
I re-DL'd Root Explorer to check my app drawer. Sure enough, they're all there... just not viewable or launchable in my app drawer.
I flashed via CWM (red) wiping: cache, dalvik cache, and system wipe before doing any of this, so I'm not sure where I went wrong?
Nevermind... got off easy. A simple reboot fixed my problems!

Hmm ... what launcher are you using? What ROM are you using? Just so I understand ... the icon is just gone, not turned into something different (i.e. a green and white box with an android on it - or something like that)?
If you are using Launcher Pro Plus, I had the same issue. Asks for unlock code, I put it in, says accepted, then forgets that it was input. I asked LP support about this and got this response. "You can solve this issue by using a root explorer and erasing /dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher
If you are not rooted, a factory reset should work. I would recomend performing a backup prior to the reset."
I erased the file and it worked.

I am unable to install any app market or not, i just flashed bamf 1.7 did 2 wipes before install, have proper radio...astro installed from market just fine after first boot, only thing i have done since is install the theme pack from the cubed rom. That definitely did it. There was a problem in one of the add-on files for Cubed ROM. He updated it the other day, but it still seems to intermittently cause that same issue on my phone. Unfortunately, the only way to definitely fix it is to flash back to the backup you made when you installed the Cubed themes. You did do a backup, right?

What you're gonna have to do is install ROM explorer, then head into the /system/app folder and delete (or move to a backup location) Swype.apk
Then, go into the /system/lib folder and delete (or move to a backup location) libSwypeCore.so (or something like that).
Then, install Swype using the installer on their website (sign up for the beta).
http://beta.swype.com/
I don't believe you can reinstall the stock Swype that is included with Alien, though I'm not entirely sure. I highly recommend using the beta though.
awesome that works thanks
I did this but after I reboot, force closes again, works really well up to a reboot though
try uninstalling and reinstalling (not joking about windows, really that is a known fix).
IF that fails, uninstall, reboot into recovery, wipe DALVIK cache, then reinstall.

Why is my lockscreen not showing up?

I am running BAMF gingerbread and for some reason, my lockscreen does not appear whenever i wake my phone up. I tried running other gingerbread roms and the same problem happened. I always wipe the phone plus the cache.
Why isn't my lockscreen showing up?
I have kinda that prob when I reboot my CM7 rom while plugged in.

Do you think its a problem with gingerbread roms or just my phone?
You checked all the settings? Tablet tweaks? For cm7 its under tablet tweaks but Idk if your rom has that.
Yes I checked all the settings, nothing about a lockscreen option.
Hmm I will check out some info. You can always download a lockscreen app if it doesn't get resolved.
It works sometimes and then sometimes it doesn't, I don't get it. Thank you for the help man, appreciate it.
Not a problem. I would try booting to recovery and wiping cache. Then reboot. See if that works. You can reflash rom and clear cache/delvik cache if you need. Good luck. Hope it is resolved.
I've wiped all the cache and the data. The last rom I was running had this problem, and the one before that it would sometimes not come up but not as bad as this.
I have no idea what the problem could be.
I realize you said that you wipe data and cache before installing but are you by any chance restoring any system data with TitaniumBackup? Restoring some system related stuff (red or green. I think it's the green Settings Storage one but I haven't looked into it personally.) has been known to cause issues such as the lockscreen, home and search keys not working.

Nope, I don't even have titaniumbackup on my phone.
it is a gingerbread problem, you can either reflash your rom to get it back or use a car dock to unlock it and change your lockscreen the change it back,if it is not there use rootexplorer to copy it from the rom to your system/apps folder set permissions reboot then change it back, just happens that the lock screen disappears never got an answer as to why but that is how I have fixed it everytime

[HOW TO]Fix app issues after restore...

Description:
I have flashed a few ROMs and before I do, I backup my apps with app2zip or titanium backup. After a flash, I restore the apps without issues, but when running them some do run fine others just crash. If you run into the same thing, here is what I have done.
Step 1:
Download ROM Manager->Run it->and look for "Fix Permissions"->Run it & wait...After it is done, run the apps you had issues with.
*You can reboot to CWM recovery->advance->Fix Permissions.
Step 2:
If that doesn't work, unfortunately you are going to have to install them again from Play Store.
Hope this helps.
A standard method for badly behaving apps is to go to settings, manage apps, then delete cache or delete data for each app.
Or just don't use add2zip, it doesn't set permissions. Stick with tbu, never an issue and allot faster.
Again, do everything right and there won't be any issues and you shouldn't have to fix permissions
Twrp works the best for wiping cache and delvik. Doing it the other way mention, you're going to have to reboot anyway, might as well do it the right way. Plus with 76 apps, that would take forever

I wish that would've worked, but it didn't.

Everyone experiences a different thing with backup apps, I've seen some that had issues using tbu. I did use Wipe Cache/Dalvik methods multiple times and didn't solve the issue. The above methods worked for me.
