Any vnc server works on atrix? - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

I just tried droid vnc server . it doesn't work.
Connection was reset every time by server.

the best and easiest way that i have come across to this is TeamViewer. works flawlessly. you need to download on every pc you want to remote with...im sure you know how this works. Make an account save all the connections to your account log on from your phone and if the PCs are on and running TV you can connect to them.

VNC Client app on market, aint connecting to desktop with VNC server

I was trying this out but cant seem to connect to my home desktop with the VNC Client thats available for free on the market place. It would be cool if I could get this functionality. Anyone else have any issues with this?
The server is set to port 5800 and the user details and IP are all correct.

i open both 5800 and 5900 on router but change the port to 5900 on the vnc app, is what i did

[Q] Use Android phone as samba server over portable wifi hotspot?

I used an app Samba file sharing for android and this makes my phone a samba server. I was then easily able to access my SD card on my laptop on LAN (wifi).
I now have a mapped network drive for my SD Card and it is super easy to transfer data to my SDCard.
But(I tried this, but was unsuccessful), I want to use my phone as a portable wifi hotspot and then use my phone as a samba server so that I can easily share my SDCard contents with any other (android) device which connects to my phone's wifi network. Is it possible?
This is what I was thinking the other day when I was at a freinds house when I didn't have my cable with me and he does not have a WiFi router, I had to email him the file which was about 5mb which would of been alot faster for his laptop to connect and pull the file from my phone on its own.
Very interested if this can be done.......
I guess the app would have to deal out dhcp and dns
+1 - really want this, would be so much better than using Bluetooth to shift files from one droid to another without a router. Don't really see why Samba reports 'wifi is down' when there's an active client connected to the hotspot
What about using you phone as a portable wifi hotspot and switching on an ftp server?
Edit: just tried it with "ftp server" and hotspot switched on. Appeared to work but have no-one to test with :-(

Anyone ever get this working?
I've tried this using "LAN Manager" from play store. And using a beelink gt1 ultimate TV box as client. It working fine so far. But if I boot the box with CoreELEC, I'm able to connect but file read is extremely slow.

[Q] 2X Remote Desktop Client

Just wondering if anybody has had any luck getting the 2X remote desktop client to connect with their desktop/laptop? I'm on stock 2.3.4 and first I connect to my workplace VPN with the native android VPN, then try to remote desktop to my windows 7 work computer. I get the blue "Windows 7 Professional" screen, sometimes getting as far as the "Welcome" message, but then it just hangs there.
If anyone has got this working can you post what android rom you're using and what version of windows you're connecting to? Thanks... if it works with a non-stock rom this may be the thing that gets me to go away from stock...

Check out the teamviewer app on the market it works great for remote desktop. I use it all the time. You will have to install the teamviewer software on your computer. It works great and it's free.
sent from my CM7-dx2 using XDA premium
Thanks. I may try Teamviewer but it sounds like VNC. The thing stopping me from using VNC is my work laptop has a dynamic IP. With RDP I can point it to my computer name as long as I'm connected to the VPN. One post on another forum says when they switched to another tablet they could not remote desktop any more. I'm going to flash CM7 tonight and see if it works on there.
No luck on CM7, same issues trying various RDP apps. I can VPN then RDP to my work computer from my home computer every time, so I doubt it's a problem with my work computer or network.
Wann say also that I really enjoyed the time I spent with CM7. Just its camcorder focus was blurry and home videos are my number one priority besides work.

Thanks,
but i dont search an app to control the pc via tablet.
Instead, i would like to control the tablet (that i leave at home) with the pc that i have in the office where i work.
So i need an app to be installed in the tablet, that acts like the windows remote desktop server ...
Is this what you are looking for?
To control your PC from phone/tablet, use TeamViewer. Of course, you need to have TeamViewer installed in the other device as well. Dunno if the reverse (controlling phone/tablet from PC) is possible. Never tried.

Yes, i was looking for something like the VNC server link you suggested me.
But perhaps it does not allow remote connection (over internet)...

Hello,
finally i was able to remote access my android tablet (acer a500) by another android tablet (dell streak):
i rooted the tablet and installed a VNC server on the tablet a500;
i configured my wireless home router to enable forwarding port 5901 to the (static) ip address of the tablet a500.
Then i installed a VNC client on the other tablet (dell streak).
Now i can with the dell streak and 3g connection, remote access the a500 that i leave at home.
The 'remote desktop' works well, its nice to see the screen of the a500 as screen of the dell streak...
and when i touch the screen of the dell streak , i 'touch' in same time the screen of the a500...
the only thing i dont like is that the connection is very slow...sometimes i have to wait many seconds to see the answer of the a500 on the dell streak...
Bye!

Strange that there is so few such solutions. I'd imagine people would create apps for this just like there is plenty of those WiFi File Managers where you start server on the phone/tablet and move files using web browser on PC.
Maybe LogMeIn will finally develop something proper for remote controling Phones/Tablets, there is a need for this, I for example need to support a person in another country and I need to be able to at least see the screen remotely, not necessairly control it remotely.
access a server on a 3g wireless phone directly is almost impossible, this is not for technical reasons, instead the wireless operators blocks all server ports on mobile devices.
One way is to do NAT punch through, or use proxy, none of these is easy, so I don't really see servers that can accessed from internet.
Update: I have installed dynamic dns server and vnc server and that did the trick.
I assume this is still with WIFI, did you manage to connect to a server in 3g network, i.e., using ip address provided by wireless providers, instead of a wifi ip address.

[Q] VNC Server?

I have a stock ROM rooted Photon.
I used AndroidVNC server, granted it superuser permissions, and started server.
Problem is,
When I attempt to connect through PC server stops!
I tried several VNC viewers, same result.
I know it's my Photon because my friend has a rooted SG2 and it works perfectly.
I also have the latest binary updated.
Please help if you know a solution.
Hmm, doesn your friends work while connecting to your pc? If not, it could be as a result of closed ports on your software firewall and/or hardware firewall. Not sure what ports the viewers youre using uses, but try to find out and ensure that those ports are either already open or set to be forwarded in your firewalls. Easy way to fivure out if this is the issue is to disable all of your pc's security momentarily and try to connect. If it does, you know your problem is on the pc side and not your phone or the app. Good luck.
Does the vnc-server allow you to use a mouse and keyboard from the computer on the phone? or access the webtop/ubuntop?
I think this must be a bug from the vnc server, it most likely crashed during the connection.
Try our vmlite vnc server, it will surely work on your device, as we do have other users using the same device.
