[Q] 2.3 lock screen animation on 2.2 or 2.2.1 ROM? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway to get the lock screen animation from CM7 to any ROM say...bionix frost?

no, the CRT animation is in the 2.3 video driver inside the 2.3 kernel. there is no way to port it.

Wasnt there a bootanimation.zip of this by Tonicaid I think? I searched but can't find it. Can someone post the link or a .zip download on the post for this.
Thanks

That's the TV-On, for when your phone turns on, not sure where the shutdown one is.
Note: I haven't tested this, it was in a thread by Tonicacid.

Was there a boot animation in there to begin with? Do you have a kernel that supports it?
The OP in that thread noted at the bottom that if you're having issues getting a boot ani to work, you can PM him. Have you tried this?

Ok just wanted to know if I had to wipe before flashing. But I don't think I have the proper bootloader since it was changed for cm7. Anyone have input on this?
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
what do you mean you do not have the correct bootloader? full wipe is required in order to flash this
Sent from my T-Mobile MTG3GS W HoneyComb using XDA Premium App
nvm i think a full wipe will be ok. will flash/test after screenies
here are some screenies of my rom with the theme on. here are the links for the screenieshttp://yfrog.com/hsgxcp http://yfrog.com/h8zsrpp http://yfrog.com/h0g42lp http://yfrog.com/h4aobap
Ok, just flashed it. Love the splash screen and animation! But is there an option to change the font of the text? it's kinda hard to read when you want to take a quick glance and go XD
txdeathray yes you can download an android font changer on the market for free called android custom font changer i know the name is long for an app but thats what you can use for the font choose from alot of fonts thanks for the good feedback as well message me on gmail if you have any requests or questions.
awesome, thanks man!
D'oh, it requires S-Off and I lost mine due to the recent official update. Can you tell me which file in the zip is related to font? I can try to switch it with another ROM's and see how it works.
no problem galad you like the rom and one more thing flash rom first then theme and after that you can extract the cmparts from a cyanogenmod rom and install the apks to make your clock a different color and stuff .
Sent from my T-Mobile MTG3GS W HoneyComb using XDA Premium App
Alright, will give it a try when I have time.
Wait... shouldn't it be copy/paste files first then flash? Or you can do it only with adb push and pull? Sorry, just started to learn all these things XD
flash the rom and theme from recovery. make sure you put the files on the root directory of your sd card and after that enjoy
Sent from my T-Mobile MTG3GS W HoneyComb using XDA Premium App
ok, just to clarify, i can install apks and fonts alike by putting the things i want in the root of my sd card. then find it and choose install, right?
yes

Boot animation /boot logo changing.

How to make a boot animation/boot image? Like replace the LG logo, and the Rom animation. A point to a guide or tut would be appreciated. Thank you
Sent from my VM670 using XDA App
To change the lg stuff is going to be pretty tough i link. Thats not part of the rom and might have to be done with like cdma tools or something.
But changing the goot animation is easy, just download the animation you want (make sure the resolution on its not to big) and paste it in the system/media folder on your phone with root explorer or something.
here is a link to the guide cyanogenmod wiki points to.
good luck with your project!

p.s. a forum search here will lead you to a lot more info on boot animations and some samples.

Even easier to place it to /data/local without any root required.
I wonder about this too. The bootanimation.zip is just that, the boot animation and doesn't even require root access to change. however, the manufacturer animation that comes before it I would like to change. I am running CM7 and would like to change the static red LG logo for the 'electron beam' animated one used in virtually every other rom, including the stock firmware. Wonder if anyone could just make a flashable zip to do this. I'm looking at wiki article and while I feel confident I could do it, it looks like a brick waiting to happen!
Thanks guys I got a new boot another and just replaced the obedience. Data /local and it plays just fine:3
Sent from my VM670 using XDA App
the ROM animation is easy you can either get a existing animation zip and rename and replace the bootanimation.zip with root explorer depending on where it is stored in your ROM if you want to make your own the animation is not a video it is a series of png files so you can make one yourself im not sure about the order just take a existing bootanimation.zip and unzip it and take a look

This is my first crack at a bootanimation, but I like how it turned out so far. Can't get the sound to work for some reason. If anyone has any insight on this please let me know.

That does suck because where I could help I can't like the "Developers Forum" also the link posting. Really blows for us.
What does it look like?
It's from the teaser trailer. It's light cycles.
Id like to try this, but when ever I try to flash a bootanimation or copy and paste one to system/media/ it doesn't work and the bootanimation it plays is "android" with silver flashing across it. Any help?

Are you making sure that you rename the file bootanimation.zip?
Yeah. It happens when I try other bootanimations too. I checked data/local too to make sure another bootanimation wasn't there.

That's quite odd. I've never encountered that problem. It should at least be using the original bootanimation or have a black screen.

Ill reflash Eclipse and try it again. I want to see this boot animation one way or another! Haha

Got it! Reflashed Eclipse and got it working! Nice boot animation! I like how its full screen too!
I think I'm going to stick with no splash screen and tron boot animation. Looks sick, great job!
Once I get on a comp, ill click thanks!

Thank you! It's great to hear that someone other than myself likes it.
Links are up!
If you download boot animation changer off the market you can just choose import animations after you download one and then just apply it ...it makes it easier for me then moving files all around

[APP] MIUI Lockscreens for all 2.3 ROMs

Just saw this over in the Captivate section and thought I'd share it. This apk will allow you to use MIUI lockscreens on all GB ROMs.
Get it here.
Does this replace the stock one or is it like widget locker?
Sent from Tapatalk using my Samsung GT-I9100
It's kind of like GoLocker or WidgetLocker. It's an alternative lockscreen app.
It's nice. Any way to get it in English? It uses all chinese language stuff.
