I think this would need custom kernel to be present, which in turn needs boot loader to be unlocked.

Thank you , this post show it's possible :
All is not lost!
I was using the LED me know BETA, and if you assign different colours, different combinations of media lights light up. I set it to the unknown option, then realized that that causes the focus LED to flash at the given frequency!
So if someone can write a simple app to emulate this we are done!
PS its very very bright! and orange

But is someone have the name of the app which do that ?

Torch.apk question

Hi, I'd like to use the torch.apk from Cyanogenmod in a Sammy rom. I already extracted it, I'd like to know how to make it work. If that's possible.

Not sure if it is because the led is part of camera controlled hardware which is kernel dependant. The torch app is only CM which would lead me to think it's not possible.
Although the range of torch apps in the market say otherwise and I also have no idea what I'm talking about, and so yeah there's my unhelpful answer

[REQ][SXS] Notification bar like in tablets

Hello please can anyone port the notification bar from this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947189 to xperia S ?
This is about what i'm talking : https://plus.google.com/photos/113526337195824316980/albums/5807427313101725729
That is a Xperia S ROM... Anyway, just change your build.prop DPI from 320 to 192. Know that some apps (mostly Sony ones) won't work properly.
Or else try PA.
"What really matters in this world, anyway?"
my BL is locked i can't install PA :/ (We are talking about Paranormal Android aren't we ? )
and okay, i'll try this, but will i get the notification bar like on the screenshots ?

I don't understand. I use Rom toolbox constantly to change fonts. I even used fonts from toolbox and converted to bold type font.
I'm having this exact same problem so I didn't want to start a new thread. I've tried ROM Toolbox and probably half a dozen other font changing apps and none of them work. They all request (and are granted) su but after rebooting, same stock font. I must be missing something obvious. P769 w/20F rooted.
I believe that it's because LG UI is based off of Sense. If you use the font changer, some browsers font change on Google search. But that's about it.

I didn't know that the LG UI was Sense-based. Even so, I previously owned an HTC Glacier (myTouch 4G) which was definitely Sense-based and I was able to change fonts without a problem.
Do you have any other ideas?

Well then, idk why it doesn't work. As I said, the browser would change the text of Google Search results in *some* browsers, I think it worked on Opera. But the actual system itself? Nope, nothing. You're stuck with what LG gave you aha. It doesn't matter to me though. Roboto looks LEGIT.

Those are how I don't want to do it ahaha! Because the screen is somewhat laggy /;
EDIT: But I really do want to. My camera is like 4 years old, me being a teenager I don't use digital cameras xD My mother has one, so I can check if it does any better picking up the screen. Hers is newer, and maybe there won't be as much glare. I really would like to start and get a nice joint YouTube/G+ profile going.

Well, I do. I believe I can edit some light settings on Sony Vegas 12 (Which I TOTALLY got legally xD) to where the glare on the screen will be.. less dramatic. I'm also considering doing it in a brightly lighted room, so that the glare isn't as dramatic when compared to the dark. I believe it might just work. And I was getting on to ask, after this video, what other content would be useful?
I'm not interested in unlocking my bootloader, so I won't be making a tutorial aha.

Change LED color at boot

So the title says it al, is there any way to change the color of the green led when the phone is booting up? Is that ROM dependent or not? Thanks in advance.

Well you know what they say, nothing's impossible, right? So maybe we could eventually find a way? It'd be pretty cool to change it to blue or some other color, right?
If you are willing to hardware mod your atrix, it can be done, but it will alter all colors. You need to identify which terminal of thr led corresponds to the green color and switch it wit another color. But, as i said, it will change all color schemes of the led...

Well I could ask the same question about other mods. I have not seen anyone else ask about this so you could say this was helpful.
However, hardware modifications are well out of my comfort zone so if that's the only option I won't do it.
Thank you for your kernels by the way!

It seems odd that, with all the other things you can customize, this one would not be possible. Not to question anyone's personal knowledge, but is there a link where I could read a further explanation and verify it?

Seriously, why flash CyanogenMod? Why root at all?
In my case, the reason is I'm trying to change my AT&T "branded" LED -- pulsing green-cyan -- to the color T-Mobile uses. Just a few of these steps and you've renovated the boot animation sequence.

Yes, changing the initial boot logo, the boot animation to include sound, has been something that has been done for quite some time. your link is a bit pointless, for all it is is your request for more help in looking into the changing of the LED color when this has already been addressed in this thread.
Why flash CM at all? To have an option to alternate versions of an official release, to have an option at upgrading to versions of android not released by the manufacturer. Why root at all? Why ask that when there are wikis and many threads explaining what root is and what it is used for.
Per your request, have you tried looking at this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688981

On secont though, I guess flashing an non-att sbf will give you another bootloader, therefore changing the led color at boot. I assume the color is hardcoded into the bootloader, but since we can't modify it (theorethically), that's all you can do. As for the hardware mod, my source is my knowledge, I'm an electronics technician
