[Q] Help - Phone stuck on boot - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had been using superclean 2.6 voodoo since a week or so and recently moved to AhmgskMod TrulyFascinating rom. It was working fine but while cleaning junk files on my sd card I deleted "Voodoo" folder by mistake. I rebooted my phone and now its stuck on Samsung logo..
I am thinking getting to recovery mode and flashing superclean 2.6 again would fix it but I cannot get into recovery using power + vol up button method.
hope I have not bricked my phone.. Please someone suggest a fix?
EDIT: Was able to get into recovery after lot of tries and fix it.
PS: Mod delete the thread if you want.

[Q] Newby Needs Help Flashing

New Vibrant owner, here and need help flashing Nero V3. Here's my problem:
Rooted fine. Got Superuser and all. Loaded ROM Manager, Clockwork without a problem as well.
Downloaded Nero v3 voodoo.zip file, mounted my phone and copied to the SD card.
Went back to ROM Manager, clicked Reboot into Recovery. Phone reboots into Android system recovery screen (top is blue), with no option to select Nero V3. All I have is reboot system now, reinstall packages, delete all user data and delete cache data. The bottom half of the screen is yellow text and it ends with "Installing Muti-Csc."
Any ideas on what I'm missing?
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Ken
you need to reinstall packages twice to load clockwork mod recovery.
Wrong place for your question Buddie
And as far as your answer is concerned your phone is not rooted yet
after you reboot being rooted click on reinstall packages and it would reboot into cwm reboot which is green color screen
Thanks. That worked. Appreciate it and sorry for posting in the wrong place. :-0

[Q] Axura then restore using CWM recovery- bricked?

I am extremely new at all of this but have been reading this forum for a while. I am unable to find the answer that will fix my problem so any and all of your help will be appreciated.
I flashed the latest version of Axura on my stock + rooted vibrant using CWM. I had used titanium back up prior to flashing. After Axura was installed I used titanium back up to restore all apps and system data and found that my phone had become very slow and wasnt getting email, text notifications. I decided it would be best to go back to stock. I did so by going into CWM recovery (volume up +down + power) and did restore to what I thought was the ROM that was backed up before I flashed. The recovery screen showed that it was recovering various components (took about 10 minutes) and the phone re booted on its own but now it will not go past a black locked screen. THe date and time are shown correctly but the phone keeps flashing the same screen every 30 seconds and with vibration. I did go back into cwm recovery and disabled vodoo lag fix, but that did not help it either.
Is my only option to flash stock thru ODIN? Or can I use something in the CWM recovery screen to bring my phone back to life? Please help.

[Q] Stuck boot on CyanogenMod7

My phone is an Optimus T P509.
I instaled CyanogenMod7 and the phone stuck at cyanogenmod7 boot logo.
How can I get out off this and restore my nandroid backup?
How to load amon_ra_recovery custom recovery at boot?
Thank s
Remove battery .... then insert it and boot into recovery using power + home + volume down ... u r good to go ...
By the way, u posted in the wrong section
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
I had this issue once and I just reflashed CM7 things got right.
Just be patient when first booting the ROM, it'll take more time due to configuration.
You may try to flash /system zip from mik_os thread.
This happens a lot for me, I haven't tried cyanogen but when I was using KDZ to downgrade to 2.2 for rooting purposes my phone got stuck at the android boot animation and after waiting for 5-10 minutes I just removed the battery and powered it back on and I was able to get it working. When I've flashed some other custom roms the same thing happens but it doesn't seem to happen when I flash the same rom over itself, it's able to get past the boot animation with no problems in that situation for me.

First boot into recovery switch off Home + vol down+ Power
now flash the bootloop zip provided in mik thread
wipe cache/dalvic cache/system/sd card
mount sd card
copy the rom zip to sd card
unmount sd card
choose flash zip from sd card
finallly

BEST OF LUCK
Yeah, I just flashed for the first time last weekend.
I got the same thing, and after doing the "wipe" and reflashing the ROM, it worked fine.
Good luck!

Need Assistance - Soft Bricked

Hello wonderful people of the S. Vibrant community. I come to you in order to diagnose and hopefully fix a problem with a friends samsung vibrant.
Basically here's the backstory... He wanted to root his Vibrant (2.2 i believe) to ICS so i sent him the AIO Vibrant toolbox and told him explicitly to read the instructions of the tool and any potentials roms he wants to put on his phone. Lo and behold! I proceed to take a 2 hour map and my phone is bombarded with text messages saying that he 'messed up' and the phone is 'looping' upon boot.
I absolutely do not know what the hell he did and he was intentionally vague on what steps he took and what roms he downloaded etc. He mentioned something about reformatting and downloading a new kernal ...
Anyways. As I'm an owner of a Sprint SGS2; i know that sammys are literally the hardest devices to hard brick so i proceeded to search up these forums and odin a stock tar so i can get this thing booted up.
I followed this guide
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/09/how-to-restore-or-recover-your-samsung-vibrant/ and proceeded to odin back the pit and tar and it was a success.
Then it rebooted and bam still a boot loop. I tried a KA6 tar and still the same results. So I'm stuck here on how to get this phone out of the boot loop and am wondering if you guys can direct me to where I can hopefully fix this problem.
Side note. AIO Vibrant toolbox says the phone has USB Debugging mode off... (SMFH!!!!).
Thanks guys!
Download the bionix V fish man ROM. Its froyo, its good and it has an Odin flashable file. It comes with Bali kernel.
May help you on your way.

Even though its boot looping, if you can get into recovery, you may be able to flash about any ROM you want. Wipe data/factory reset, clear cache and dalvik, and flash a good solid ROM. I've gotten out of the situation using both of the options I've listed.
May the force be with you.
I'll try and see if this will work and report back.
Well i odin'd the rom according to instructions and it's on the bali screen now for 5 mins... How long does the first boot take

It does take a while. I'd let it go at least another few minutes. Then update me.

If your still stuck, pull battery and boot into CWM recovery. Find Voodoo lagfix in the options. Disable it and reboot the phone. That's most likely why its hanging on the first start.
After you get it booted the first time you can go later and reenable voodoo lagfix.
tried using adb reboot recovery cmd and still no dice...
I assume froyo bootloader, hold both volume buttons and power until you see Samsung text and let go. May take a couple tries.
there is no samsung text. It goes white screen then Bali screen and repeat... (boot loop i guess.. again)
Update : Flashed the second odin tar and it seems to be somewhat working now... got into recovery mode and wiped data / cache... rebooting now
Excellent. If that doesn't boot all the way go back to recovery and disable voodoo lagfix.
Well i got into samsung recovery and deleted user data & cache data.
It does indeed go white screen then Bali screen for some reason... same.
Boot loop. No option to disable voodoo lagfix. Recovery is not CWM but samsung recovery... ?!!

Hmm. If you have the update.zip on your phone you can click reinstall packages and it will be CWM recovery.

Your internal sd has been destroyed. Your only option is running the entire os off of an external microsd card. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580902
At least it seems like this is the case. I also had this happen to my phone, but eventually it fixed itself after odining about 20times and installing other roms. Good luck. Heres what I did http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665123)
Didn't work for some people, so the fact that mine came back might have just been luck.
le sigh...
I guess i'll try some more tomorrow. Guess he did the unthinkable and 99.9% killed a sammy. Poor galaxy s...
I finally managed to follow your instructiosn and i installed CM9 for the first time and it's now boot looping. Your instructions state to reboot into recovery mod and install it again but I for my life cannot discover how to reboot this thing into recovery mod. What are the steps and buttons again if I may ask?

Pull the battery and replace it, hold vol up, vol down and power until you see screen come on then release. That should take you to recovery.

Anyone know where to find a CWM recovery image for this thing?

So I tried TWRP and have had extremely bad luck. I thought I bricked the phone at first, then it was stuck in a boot loop, THEN TWRP could not read from the internal memory, and to top it off, when I finally got the phone to boot up, I went ahead and bought a sim card and got it hooked up to ATT, and when I inserted the sim card, it automatically rebooted the phone into TWRP and reset everything (deleting all my apps and stuff) and got stuck in a boot loop.
I had an old phone and used clockwork mod recovery without any issue. Does anyone know where to find a CWM recovery image for the z5 compact?
Actually, if anyone has even the STOCK recovery I would be forever grateful. I would rather stock than TWRP at this point. I don't want to risk my phone being reset and having everything deleted again.
Same issue, unable to boot rom, TWRP has no access..

I am experiencing the same issue. I would like any working recovery/rom at this point. My Wife has the identical phone. Can I make a copy of hers to help the OP and my phone out?
I followed the following;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-sony-xperia-z5c-t3339930
and have tried a few times now. As well as other versions of TWRP..
On a side note I wouldn't mind testing new roms/features being implemented by developers. Please let me know where the best place to get involved would be.
Thanks in advance,
David.
found a boot.img and TWRP that worked for me..
So after a lot of flashing I found one that works.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/orig-development/twrp-z5-compact-t3235161
at least I can get twrp working for now..
I still can not get CM installed. Each time I get 'Error executing updater binary in zip'. I will have to do some more reading tomorrow.
