Will WiFi only model require separate ROMS? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I'm planning to get a WiFi only flyer, and was wondering if anyone can hazard a guess based in previous tablets with both 3g and WiFi models as to whether the WiFi only and 3g models will require different ROMS?
Cheers!

I'm only guessing but I imagine not... probably only diff will be one with a 3g chip and one without...?

Rezound gsm on at&t

I've seen speculation but has anyone gotten 3g working on the rezound with an at&t sim? I'm using this as a backup phone and it would be nice to have some form of data other than WiFi.

I dont think it has the correct 3g bands for att
There is a huge thread about using the phone on GSM bands in the Q & A forums.

Yes I think there are atleast two people who have been able to get DATA working on at&t, but am not completly sure just going on what I was told

Question about 4g?

Ok I just posted as another thread in a complete wrong section so I'm sorry if this is also the wrong one. (I've never used the app before). my question is, is the telstra s2 4g the same as the s2 epic 4g touch? And if so where can I find roms and such for it? Thanks

The main difference lies in the model numbers. I'm using the Telstra variant 3G S2, which gives me the model i9100T, where yours is i9210. I don't know the Epic's model, but it will be different again.
I was wondering the same thing about the 4G ROMs, as I got offered one for the same price as it'll cost for repairing this one. So I'm considering the change, but it depends on the availability of ROMs for it.
Maybe look further in this General forum for the Australia thread and see if there is any info in there.

Haha completely agree with the failstra. I it have them because they are the only network with coverage where I live :/... Otherwise Anaheim all the way .... But back to the subject, I have been reading around and from what I can tell the 4g is a completely different phone to the 3g because it has a different chipset.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. The Exynos processor from the Galaxy S II models isn't compatible with LTE networks. Even if it was, you might still have troubles because the networks are different so i wouldn't be surprised if the anntenas weren't different.
I feel sorry fit you because I'm having the same trouble atm with my Galaxy Tab 8.9

[Q] Flashing radio

Hi guys,
I'm new to all this so bear with me...
Is it possible to flash the radio on the dna to make the LTE capability work for the Rogers network?
I bought one a while ago, and I ended up selling it because LTE didn't work, and so some people are saying that it might be possible, is this true? I really love the phone so I hope so...
I'm pretty sure we can't even flash radios without s off
But even if we could, it is a hardware thing, not software. The phones hardware only supports Verizon's LTE bands, no way to change that.

Hey,
As far as i know, verizon and rogers use the same 700 mhz network band, but i believe verizon is using CDMA and rogers SIM, So i guess there is no way to do it?

4g and the international base

I was wondering if 4g lte was functioning correctly on the international base or if the verizon base makes the "LTE" work better?...my reason for asking is LTE is a verizon thing and is suppose to be better than standard 4g... some roms seem to connect better than others but where I live it is strictly 4g and very seldom do I go to 3g...is there a difference in rom bases that would effect the LTE?...or anything else that may make a better 4g connection or difference?

I think it depends more on which radio baseband u r using.....

JRBXX7 is correct, it really depends on what radio you are on. In AOSP there is a difference in the way service show, there are fewer bars as compared to TW, but the service is still the same.
If you have problems try updating to the newest radio and if you have already updated roll back to the radio you were on. Its really best to test each radio and figure out which is best for you, your phone, and your area. Each phone is a little different and that can change a lot of things that will be fine on other peoples.

Thanks...I was wondering since LTE was such a secret if just the verizon base has all the stuff needed to work on LTE properly

Does 4G needs an special antenna?

I have red that i9300 do not support 4G networks. In my country they are deploying them, ao my question is:
Does 4G requires an special antenna not present in hardware or a modem upgrade can somehow make it possible?

an i9300 cannot pick up LTE networks or DC-HSPA. Your "4g" is a little ambigous but whatever they're rolling out, the i9300 wont get it as its hardware dependant.
By '4G' I assume you mean the LTE standard, which is the most common 4G standard I believe. In any case, the i9300 tops out at HSPA+, which is 3.5G as called by some. The support of LTE is entirely dependent on the chip on the phone, and unfortunately the i9300 lacks the 4G support unlike the American variants or the i9305.
