Motoblur Twitter - Defy Themes and Apps

Hi,
3 days ago I flashed the Finland version 2.2.1 on my Defy. It's really impressive how my Defy still up, without be connected at the charger, and now it has 40% of battery.
But I miss the twitter widget. Any one, I think that the USA version could have it, can share it? or can I download it from somewhere?
Thanks!

[Q] Battery life

Heres the deal, im not a complete noob to rooting and installing kernals, roms and such however I am not the fore most expert either. I need help with my battery life on my TB! I had my phone off last night and charged it when I got up this morning around 5:30am I turned it on. I have not made any phone calls and only had it on to check my calander and use the calculator twice. I am running Lighting Rom. 3.3.1 and have blue emidemic theme flashed over that. I use launcher pro plus as my launcher and have facebook and twitter widgets open. Since this morning I have deleted the facebook and twitter widets hoping to stop the constant syncing is the background. I have Advanced task kill running as well trying to extend my battery. I have a list of every app i have on my phone typed up as a check list for when I wipe my phone going from rom to rom if you need to see that then PM me your email address and ill send it to you.
Please help I Love my phone but i dont what to have to buy that ugly extended battery. I am open for suggestions however when you send your suggestions please tell me how to do it or where I can get detailed instructions.Thank you in advance.
A lot of us are experiencing phenomenal results with the new RUU running das bamf. I haven't been charging since 8:00 this morning and have only used 10% battery on 3G. Try this Rom out. I could go all day before I need a recharge now.

How is that rom? does everything work with it? I was reading alittle bit about it yesterday but I havent had time to really disect it.
Try another kernel, there are lots to choose from. And see my comments in the imoseyon kernel thread for more battery saving options
About that..does anyone know if their battery is 1400 or 1350 maH? Mine is 1350 and I don't have 1400 and don't know if it is abnormal

I've been using lightning rom 3.3.1. Along with Adrynalyne 4.4.3. I only had one day so far that was killer on my battery life. I downloaded current widget and watch now for any
Anomolies.
I've posted what my battery was like being on airplane mode below.
Sent from Verizon in Phoenix, AZ, running a rooted Thunderbolt, with Lightning Rom v3.3.1 / Adrynalyne 4.4.3
Here's a good chart of my current showing a transition from wifi to 4g. Battery temperature went to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. All I've been doing is cruising the xda forum.
EDIT....
I also maxed out screen brightness during this time because I was outside. I'll post another chart soon when I go back into wifi mode. I'll also maintain the same screen brightness.

Sorry for the back to back post but it's not letting me upload images on edit mode.
These pictures are being back in wifi from 4g and maintaining the same screen brightness. I think what I should do is reduced my oc from 1.5mhz to 1000 mhz while on 4g to reduce such a large current draw. Any ideas?

Hey I'm running Bamf Remix 1.6 and I'm not getting really good battery life... what kernel are you using?? Are you using using any power managers on it???
Does anyone know if anyone checked their battery 1400mah lion that came with the thunderbolt? Mine is 1350, but I don't know if that is normal. When I check the battery widget it says that, But I thought it was 1400.

The Thunderbolt battery life just flat out sucks. I don't know if it's a hardware issue or a software issue related to Sense but it seems strange that the Droid Charge is getting over 2 days on a 1600 mAh battery on a single charge AND it's a 4g-LTE phone. So I don't know what's going on at HTC but that's ridiculous to hear Samsung's numbers.
I have two 1700 mah extended (slim) batteries and an external charger on order from ebay. I'll let everyone know if it helps or not.
I'm going through about 3 full charges a day so maybe at least I wont have to leave it plugged in all day.

I had excellent Battery Life with Frytech's Gingerbread Clone. However, I prefer The Perfect Rom.
I'm getting great battery with bamf

Opinions will vary but do your self a favor and install this rom = Bamf Remix 1.6.2
I use the lightning rom series (all versions) with the blue epedemic theme. Very stable amd I tried just about every kernel with them. However nothing and i mena nothing comes close to the Bamf Roms / kernels.
You also have to consider that its not just the rom or kernel it is also what you leave on or turn off, what you sync, apps that you use and a ton of over things. I am always willing to help out a Noob. So if you neeed some tips on what to do after you flash yuor rom of choice, hit me up on a PM.
Take a look at my screenshot (attached) heavy use all day on 3g only and I got 18hours out of it. Its normally about 24 to 26, but I realy used my phone today (Texts, emails, facebook, browserand of course XDA)

help gb 3.0 stripped

hi i have a couple of issues hoping someone can help me out. i installed the 3.0 bamf stripped gb on my phone and the 2.5 radio. a few issues i'm having are it keeps trying to update or download tango video calling from the market its been doing it for 3 days i cant seem to get it to stop or clear it, also i cant download mms messages anymore, the phone is not recognising the greek font when people write to me on fb anymore, and finally i charged the phone last night when i went to sleep and when i woke up today the phone was shut off even though the battery was full. can anyone help? thank
Well the rom is brand spanking new, so there will be bugs, why don't you just download the app the market keeps trying to download? And also, how can you have a stripped 3.0 sense rom? Random reboots and shutdowns are normal for all of us as well.

i did download it, it still keeps doing it. i got the stripped version from here or rather ac from which the link brought me to this site.

[Q] Galaxy S2 Update to 2.3.4 on a Bell Mobile Phone

Has any one tried to Update to AOS 2.3.4 on a "Non-rooted" Bell Mobile Phone?
Or can it be done after it is rooted?
I just got one and it dose suck the battery down fast... Hopping this will help. Because I heard that 2.3.3 has a battery drain problem, and also doesn't have Google Video Talk.
I have a feeling it will be a long time before we see a Bell supported update seeing as I don't think they will like the added Google Talk App seeing as they have a "pay $5 a month for unlimited video chat" feature, and will want people to pay for that...
If by update you mean installing one of the 2.3.4 roms from the dev section then all you need to flash a kernel with cwm, then go into recovery and install the rom.
Thanks for reply. I assume your answer requires the phone to be rooted? Witch was my second question. First I would like to see if it can be done with out rooting...
there is no official 2.3.4 out yet just leaks. So yes you have to be rooted.
Thanks, looks like I'll have to wait till there is a good root walk though for bell mobil phones to come out before i get started.
Thanks again.

The walk through posted above is quite easy. Literally had myself rooted and running in under 15 minutes after purchasing the phone, and getting back to my office.
What AOS did you end up using? Our can you keep using the same one, only with root? and if you can keep the same AOS, can you update it to 2.3.4 now?
I too am interested in a working 2.3.4 for a rooted bell SGS2. I've read somewhere that a guy did it but lost 3g conectivity
Currently running Cognition 1.31, just flashed the CWM/root using Odin... then nandroid backed up the Original OS (with root, we're stuck until a proper version of the original is released) wiped it, and installed via zip... no fuss, no muss, no loss of radio... However, stock, or updated kernel/radio... my HTC Sensation gets double the speed on the network... I usually hover arough 6-7Mbps on the sensation, and I've yet to break 4Mbps on the Galaxy
Actually, the two of you can help me lol
I did things so fast I didnt write anything down
can you go into the dialer, and type *#1234# and give me the numbers?

You don't need root, you go into download mode, flash the kernel then go directly into recovery mode and install the zip file. All roms from the dev section are rooted.

Would that 2.3.4 work after I rooted CF-Root-SGS2_JP_XSG_KG2-v4.1-CWM4?
Has your battery life gotten any better?
The battery life on this phone i crap! I got a my wife an iphone 4 at the same time i got this and she plays games on it for hours and only uses like 10% of her battery. If i did that it would use at least 50% of my battery 2.3.3 needs to go!
Yeah the battery life could be better. I downloaded these widgets for wifi on/off autosync on/off 3g on/off and they help quite a bit when I'm at work and I don't have time for facebook chat and all that nonsence. Besides the wifi at my work is garbage so the phone breaks a sweat connecting and reconnecting for 8 hours =/
My phone's been on for 11 hours and i'm at 85% battery after sending like 12 texts checking facebook 2 or 3 times and 2 phone calls. Those widgets really help. Autosync and wifi really drain this thing.
I just bought a Bell S2 (had a Euro version before) and I have noticed that the following apps are big culprits in battery drainage.
If you are rooted, install Titanium back up and do the following
Wifi Sharing (freeze this app using Titanium)
Wifi Sharing Manager (freeze this app)
Social Hub, there are two processes (freeze both)
IMEI Tracker (freeze)
GPS Navigation from Bell (uninstall using Titanium)
I'll report back. When I did this for my Euro version it gained me about 5 hours of battery life.

there is no battery problem it depends on ur usage.
turn off samsung apps under settings
turn off fast dormancy *#9900#
freeze wifi sharing apps via titanium backup
under power saving menu choose to go into powersaving mode when battery reaches 50%
in ur email accounts choose to sync manually. in social hub, when u click on an account it it will sync
in gmail account choose to only sync priority inbox
only use Automatic brightness when u r outside. inside the house keep it to minimum
if u dont use wifi turn it off
turn off gps
turn off bluetooth
dont use too many widges ( i only have circle battery and active applications widget running in my launcher.
if u do all above u will get 2 days of normal usage,
If I need to turn off a bunch of things or gimp my phone to get a longer battery life then why did I buy this High end phone again? My wife (and be because I don't want to know) knows nothing about her iPhone all we know is the battery lasts about 3x longer them my phone and we bought them at the same time and the Iphone is like a year+ older... That to me means there is a bug or Samsung messed up. I'm going to go with a bug...
You think they would ever release a car that is the same class with better radio and gadgets it in but it takes x3 more gas then the other brands car from a year ago... NO.
With all that said I have had my phone over a week now and it seems my batter is lasting longer, Quite longer..

[Q] i9000 Android 4.0.3 Exchange Battery

Hey XDA Forum,
First of all, thanks to all of you who are working they're *sses off to give us
all the ROMs. I just flashed my old Galaxy S with ICS RC1, which works perfectly btw. But my battery just got drained in 1 night by Exchange Services, took about 80% of my batterylife total. I dont think this is normal, is there something I can do about this, or is this a known problem. I have it on "Push" now, also tried a 15 Minute interval, this didn't seem to make a difference.
Thank you in Advance,
Vashan
I'm in Nexus S, I don't have this problem. I have 3 Gmail, 1 Hotmail, push email. And have a lot of services like twitter, g+ pushing service. ICS do have poorer battery life, but It don't make any difference for me. I turn on those rotate sensors, light sensor. They are the caused if drainage.

From what I've heard, it's usually improved - BUT some power management bugs that affected stock Gingerbread kernels but were fixed in all custom kernels are still present in ICS, such as the good old fuel_alerted wakelock - so while it's better when working well, it's more prone to breaking.
I'm happy if my battery lasts for a day as i'm always messing with it(one of these days I might use it to make a phone call)! Have you tried putting it on charge at bedtime? I find that helps a lot.

I would try to avoid over-charging it, it's not good for any battery. Once it hits 100% (so long as it's correctly calibrated) unplug and use as normal.

same here i upgraded to ICS xxlpq and have been using it for 3 days, im struggling to get a day out of it ... its exactly the same setup as when i ran XEU (KI4) 2.3.4 unbranded UK. I noticed ram usage has increased as well as the amount of system processes. both times I rooted and removed bloatware. when my contract runs out in 6 months I will be looking at either a pure asop phone or an iphone 5, The galaxy s2 has a great screen but the batterylife if weak no matter what custom rom and custom kernal is running. Also I can get a wifi signal in my bedroom with my laptop and my old iphone 3gs but nothing with the s2.
Also please can anyone advise what the best pure and minimilistic asop rom will be for the galaxy s2 ive read cm9 mite be soon but is there anything thats great for battery life ? ...... thanks for you time in advance :=)

did u manage to fix the problem is "exchange something that can be removed ?
Upgrading to custom ICS roms is usually a great way to enhance your battery life, because they're always containing tweaks and optimizations!
This worked for me
Device: GT-I9100 (Samsung Galaxy S2 international)
Carrier: Smartone
Country / Language: Hong Kong
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable): ICS 4.0.3/IML74K.ZSLPE
I can confirm that I have resolved the battery drain issue after upgrading to ICS on my device. The problem was partial wake locks caused by the exchange service.
One of these measures fixed the problem for me (it might have been any of these, although I have a strong suspicion that the factory reset is the only relevant one):
- factory reset of phone; didn't restore the settings and accounts, but set them up manually
- wiped cache
- did not reinstall ADW launcher
Hope that helps.
The good news is that now the battery life is definitely better than it was on Gingerbread.

This isn't really true. Once it hits 100% it pretty much runs off the charger.
By depleting it all the time you are ruining the battery that way

Leaving your phone on charge longer than is absolutely necessary ie taking it off charge as soon as it gets to 100% will not affect your battery life and there is also no need to manually calibrate the battery. I installed DXLP7 and was getting poor battery life due to a wakelock, I found and dealt with the cause and immediately battery life improved. In my experience battery life on ICS is as good as it was in gingerbread. Better battery stats is your friend.

I had upgraded my sgs2 to ics yesterday. The new version is draining the battery very seriously. In the previous version, my sgs2 could last for about 12 hours from a fully charged state. But now the version can only last for 6 hours, which is really unacceptable.
Is deep sleep? You can check with CPU-Spy. If not, remove the battery a few minutes and then returned.

I had huge battery drain issues from exchange and email waking the device and constantly doing something. Removed the accounts and then set them up again. Like night and day now, better than gb. On LP7 and never wiped.

Keep a look with BetterBatteryStats, and see if there are any apps messing up.
I have better batterylife with ICS by a margin.
And about leaving the charger on during night, these are kind of myths really, you can keep it on without any worries, and also charge it without being totally drained.
Most of these thoughts come from the old Ni-Cd times with memory effect.
I had removed the Exchange Account yesterday and the battery drain problem disappeared. The account was added back after about 10 hours. The battery usage is now back to normal (a little bit better than the situation before the ics upgarde). Thanks for your hint.
Cheers.
SG S2 ICS Battery drain issue
Had upgraded to ICS when it launched in India and literally went berserk due to the battery drain issue. Googled and googled, found a lot of things, tried most of them (except for changing ROMs).
Then, Voila, last 4 days - a complete twist to my sorry tale. I first disabled the phone backup option (to Google), did a factory reset, said No to most of the options that are asked on restart, and didnt install the earlier applications from the Play store en masse (earlier, had a number of games and other 'what I thought was useful' apps). Now, only have the basic apps plus Poweramp, Shazam and NQ Mobile added. And the result - the battery is back to normal. Phew....big relief as I use the phone pretty much for mails, music, phone.
I want yo add some thing very annoying, I discovered today after upgrading to Resurrection ROM.
In fact, even with the device connected to my car power supply and using Copilot for about 1 hour, the battery continued it's discharge instead of charging.
So what to say and what to do?
Cheers
