Tango update in market - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

Update is now in the market fyi.

have you tested this? does it work?

The Tango update fixes the crashing issues. You can video chat now!

It works. If you read the changed in this version it added support for atrix zoom and streak.

that means somehow the developer was able to manage the atrix's quirks regarding voip and microphone use, so other apps like skype might do it too. I wonder who will cave first, skype or motorola?

Ohh yeah, it works very good. first app i m able to use both on iphone and android (atrix) without any problems

Have been waiting for this thanks for the info.

anyone have audio issues? I can hear the other person, but he can't hear me...

I tested it out with an iPhone 4 after the update and it does work.

i was unable to call out to an Evo but was able to recieve the Evo's call.. i was never able to see their picture or them see mine.. then it was disconnected due to poor reception but we both had full bars and was 1ft away

Thanks 4 alerting us that Tango us ready for the Atrix, I been wanting this since Feb. 22.

I've been able to chat with the wife on her iPhone using wifi and or 3g and whatever we get on the Atrix lol

Friend with iphone 4 called me and I was able to talk to him over 3G, though there was an occasional pause due to the slow network. After about 10 minutes it froze up and lost its connection, but was still better than nothing. I'll be using this feature quite often to speak to my best friend who lives 1,500 miles away,

I just tried to use Tango but when I try to call someone it says "initializing" then "calling" but it never calls or anything...
A-A-A-Atrix!

Tango works fine for me. Used it today with an iPhone user, both of us were on WiFi.

Just tried tango with my friend on her iPhone4. The video quality was OK but the voice was horrendous. We both had to mute our speakers as we couldn't even make out a word the other person was saying. There was so much static and distortion that we sounded like aliens submerged underwater. I have the Bell Atrix. Is anyone else experiencing this?

i used it to speak to people. it worked. However it doesnt actually make a RINGING sound. it just stays silent. Not perfect. Also Tango shows you asll contacts in your contacts that have Tango (dont know how they did this). you cant yet have a favorites list, like skype.

Has anyone else had the issue with the mic not working? I am able to view my friend's video feed and hear them and they can see me, but not hear me whatsoever. Any ideas? Is the mic just not activating when the app launches?
Also I can only receive calls but not make them? Any ideas?
Thanks..

[Q] Camcorder recording very muffled sound

I have noticed that when I record video with the Thunderbolt that the picture quality is out of this world but the sound quality is terrible at best. I can barely hear my TV playing just 6 or 7 feet away from me. Anyone else have this problem?
I am running Infected ROM but have had this problem since it came out of the box.
Also, I was wondering, if I called VErizon support on this, could they tell that I had my phone rooted just by being on the phone with them?
This issue has been discussed on xda as well as a few other forums (htcs own community as well). I havent found an explanation or anything that fixes it unfortunately. I'm kinda upset about this since I'm constantly taking videos on my phone.

They don't know you're rooted. I exchanged my Moto droid 4 times, it was rooted each time. I often called them and they would just send me another. The buttons kept going bad on my phones. Bad luck I guess.
It uses the mic at the bottom of the phone (same one for phone calls) so make sure you're not covering that up. And it seems that unless whatever you're recording is close, you'll have issues. There was a post somewhere from someone who contacted HTC and was told it was due to the noise cancelling software
Well at least if its software related maybe it can be fixed in the first update. It's a shame to have such great video quality with such horrendous sound.

Skype voice problem

Hi
I'm on froyo 2.2 orange Uk and facing problem with Skype audio. The issue is that I can't hear the other party's voice however if I switch on the speaker the issue goes away. Looks like the problem is with the proximity sensor which blocks out the incoming voice (no problem with the mic). Also, there is no problem if I use earphones. Orange has replaced one handset because of this but not willing to support anymore. They are saying Skype is third party application.
Can someone help me please in fixing this issue.

I would contact Skype Support if I were you, possibly you should update to Gingerbread, that may help.
Rumor has it that Photon users had that issue at one point, but we are working fine on Skype.
I am a Photon User, and the Atrix is the Photon's cousin basically.
Thanks deedscreen for your reply.
I can't update to gingerbread as it is not released yet on orange Uk. Will contact Skype support and see their response. I don't expect much support for Uk customers, though.

Hello All.
I was just wondering, can i make the razr microphone amplify my sound more loudly or make it somehow to "catch" my voice better?
because mostly on calls in my house where i love being quite i hear people saying they can bearly hear me (and my voice is not that weak its a fine taking, not quite like hell),but outside they hear me pretty well.

Maybe you can find a friend with a RAZR to compare? In general I find I have to speak pretty loudly into all modern cell phones - they have all been that way since about 1999 when they started using heavy data compression. Before that a few Qualcomm cell phones actually sounded much better than landlines.
The Motorola Defy actually has microphone settings that let me bump trebel for outgoing voice, making it the most intelligible modern cell phone made in the past few years, but with the locked bootloader, it's stuck on 2.2 forever.
I have seen two reports on the Web of RAZRs with defective microphones though, maybe you are number three. The RAZR has the best outgoing voice quality of the latest generation of phones so you really need to find another to compare & make sure yours isn't defect report #3.
Ill try to test it out, thanks for the replay.
More opinions?
Perhaps you are covering one of the two microphone pinholes when holding the phone next to your ear?
Check out if your provider supports HD Voice, it makes huge difference in call quality. However, there are a lot of restrictions in place, such as that both parties must use phones supporting HD Voice, usually be on the same network etc.

Also some people have found their microphone holes plugged with lint and after carefully removing with pin had improvement. I just remembered 1 report where are a person solved the issue with a hard reset, you could try that if you're bored & have an hour or two to reconstruct your interface to your liking.
Not to mention joining contacts in phone book..

Google Hangout issue

Anyone here use Google Hangouts? My wifes Inc 4G is unusable in that the audio is about 5 seconds delayed, barely audible, and sounds like a robot voice, much like the Droid voice actually. I can hear her fine on my Rezound, and the video is just fine on her phone, it's just the audio that is all borked up. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their Dinc? Or would someone maybe be willing to test theirs real quick to see if they have the same issue? This is happening on both 4G and wifi for what it's worth, and happens when I start/join a hangout from both my phone and my laptop, so the issue is not dependent on the device I'm using, just the Inc itself.

I realize that this is a late response but I just came into possession of a Incredible 4G and am having identical issues with the audio during a hangout. Considering my connection is over 20 mbps down and 15mbps up on 4G, I know it's not a bandwidth issue.
Were you ever able to find a solution to this?

[Q] Video call audio after Kit Kit upgrade

Hey guys,
I upgraded my MK2 S4 to 4.4 NC5 using Surges method.
I have had zero issues since doing it a couple weeks ago. Everything is going great. I travel alot for work and today I jave been trying to call my daughter via Skype and Hangouts and the video quality is good, but they say my audio is garbled and sounds like a Chipmunk.
The wifi connection is good, and I tested my audio playback on the Skype echo test, and sure enough, I sound like a minion from Dispicable Me.
I recorded a video of myself, and the audio sounded fine.
Dont know what cound be causing it to get garbled over wifi calls.
Any ideas what cound be causing this.
Im completely stock except haveing a few apps frozen and wifi tether enabled.
My data is turned off since I don't have a global data plan. So im 100% on wifi.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im away from home out of the country for 3 weeks and wiuld love to talk to my 3 year old.
Thanks

It sucks, but I'm kind of happy I'm not the only one.
Do you know if your NC5 was an OTA, or if it was rooted and forced update? What bootloader are you on? Is ot something related to a mod we've done?
Im really wondering how many people are affected and if its a firmware issue.
I've used hangouts for video back in the states, but my 4g was so good, I never had to use wifi.

Well I'm glad someone's happy.
I assume nc5 was an ota, the guy I got it from didn't seem to bright. I've rooted it, deleted some bloatware, but left everything else alone. My old phone, on the same wifi network, is running a non stock 2.3.4 rom and it seemed to work fine (other than making the s4 sound chipmunk-like).
Now find an answer and make me happy too.

Im not really happy, but if it's a NC5/NC2 issue, then everyone should be affected and we can get VZW on the fix.
But if it's just some of us that rooted and changed something that is affecting the phone, its going to be up us to figure it out. But I don't know anything about development.
What I do know is that this wasn't an issue on MK2, so I may be restoring back if this can't be resolved.
Im really surprised that there aren't a few more people on here who are willing to try it out and verify if it's universal, or an isolated incident.
Hopefully, more people who have read the thread will take 2 mins to test thier phones.
Im happy on NC5, but can't stay here if there is no fix.
Lots of people on this forum
Just asking for 2-3 mins of your time.
PLEASE try this out ao we can isolate if its a hardware issue or a software issue, and where in the software chain is the error occuring.
I know many on here have the same setup.
Stock Rooted NC5, with the MK2 bootloaders. These are the people I'd like to be to test thier audio over wifi.
Turn OFF (very important) your mobile data and video call (skype or Hangouts) someone over wifi. Can the person you're calling hear you clearly?
Then I would venture to ask those of us on NC2 with the MK2 bootloader to try the same.
And possibly those still on MK2 stock to try.
For those of us on the board, it'll only take a couple minutes to try this out and post your findings to verify if it's an NCxx thing.
Thanks.
I've also been having a similar issue with Google Hangouts video calls.
I'm on Dan's GPE 4.4.2 ROM using the Dec NC5 modem, before that I was on stock 4.2.2 on the MDK modem. Once in a while I've had an issue when my wife calls me my voice would sound really slow, but then she'd just call me back and the voice would return back to normal. This was before upgrading to 4.4.2 however since I've upgraded to KitKat almost every video call we'd have to call each other back and forth until we can hear each other.
I've tried rebooting, battery pulls turning off mobile data and only using WiFi and vice versa but still nothing really worked.
Was having the issue also with my Mom and brother, but I noticed once I upgraded them to the latest hangouts it worked fine.
Not really sure whats going on with Hangouts.

I tried with noise reduction off, and tried with voice privacy off, no changes.
Here's the odd thing. I downloaded and have been using "GrooVeIP" to make strictly calls over wifi, and it works perfectly.
So calls over wifi have no issue, just the audio on a video chat over wifi?
So has any of the other 121 people who have read the thread had time to test this?

Didn't work. Same chipmunk voice.
Crazy that i can use grooveIP to make calls over wifi with no problem, but once video /chat is in the mix, it goes to crap.
I finally realized that the chipmunk voice is being caused by the audio being sped up.
So the video chats are speeding up audio over wifi.
Any ideas what would cause this?
Fixed
The problem isn't with Google Now, it's Google Search's new "anytime /any screen" hotword section function..
Go to Google Search, Settings, Voice, Uncheck hotword detection from any screen.
Why this breaks the wifi audio when using a video chat service is a mystery.
I now realize that this wasn't an issue under 4.3, because Hotword detection from any screen is a Kitkat only feature.
I don't know if this a Samsung, possibly or Google Search issue. But I'll submit a ticket to Google under in the play store.
Hopefully, everyone else will too.
