[Q] Flashing 2.1 to X10 with broken USB ( Currently rooted 1.6 with busy box ) - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay im asking this question for a friend.
He currently has an 1.6 X10 (stock) which i have managed to root.
However the USB port is broken ( a common problem ) so we can't use flash tool or anything requiring USB.
So now we are rooted on 1.6 can we get Xrecovery or some form of recovery on to the the phone ? we have got busy box installed and have tryed to run the newest Xrecovery.apk from this site but its fails at parsing the file.
Any help on this would be great as he would like to get 2.1 on his phone so he can then continue to use official updates ( he doe snot care that he will loose root if he does this )
Regards,

I have the exact same problem. Tried every way of installing xrecovery, still no luck.
Anyone help please?

You can try adb over wifi if u r android version have it see in developers option if there then I can root by adb commands over wifi

[Q] How to update rooted SK17i to stock 2.3.4 with unlocked bootloader?

Hi everyone. I've got this problem which i can't solve (nor find the solution on the net).
I have a rooted mini pro with stock 2.3.3. I've unlocked bootloader through sony ericsson website and verificated my IMEI number there. Then i've rooted my mini pro - and kept stock 2.3.3.
The 2.3.4 update is out now (PC Companion says that too), but windows keeps failing to install the MTP USB drivers when i try to connect in this mode according to guide in PC Companion. I gave up trying to update firmware this way after lots of attempts.
So i decided to try update by SEUS. When i connected in recovery mode, SEUS said that software in my device was changed and thus cannot be updated. I really don't know what to do now. I'm afraid that SE blocked updates to my IMEI number as i unlocked the bootloader, but i'm just guessing.
The question is:
Does someone know how to update my mini pro to stock 2.3.4? Is there any way to lock bootloader back as it was and get SE to know that i'm a nice guy again?
Thank you very very much for any help! I'm starting to be desperate about this.

try with http://www.wotanserver.com or use flash tool or find someone who has setool...

[Q] Rooting android 4.04 allview P5

Hello, i just recently purchased an Allview P5 smartphone, it's really cost efficient but recently i started getting some problems because the phone is not rooted and i was wondering how to root the android 4.04. i tried the superoneclick 2.3.3 and installed adb and something from java, bu when i rung the program superoneclick the program just freezes and it's not responding. any suggestions or guides that i should follow?
best regards
Chris
Try root for HaiPai I9220. For me it works.
Having the same problem here, Superoneclick freezes on step 7 iirc.
HaiPai didn't work for me either
So that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923764
There you will find this: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?othd1gf76pa97zg
It is 100% functional, but need more knowledge and skill.
Ok, I came a lot further this time, but still stuck.
As soon as I let Cygwin `patch` the recovery.img, it does the patching and stuff, but it doesn´t create a new recovery.img for some reason..
If you check page 13 of that PDF manual: I get all the same messages in Cygwin, except for that "Repacking" bit.
Any Idea why it isn't repacking?
Losing my nerves a bit because of Cygwin, what a horrible program to get to work properly. Installation went on beyond 100%, till about 2000% and then just started to count further in negatives >____<
You must have installed 7-zip archive program.
SuperOneClick should work for this device. You may try this:
1) unmount the sd-card, turn ON usb-debugging
2) turn OFF usb-debugging
3) connect device to PC
4) click "Root"
5) when "Waiting for Device" appear turn ON usb-debugging
6) when "Starting ADB Server..." turn OFF usb-debugging
7) then turn it back ON
8) and back OFF
9) repeat this while "Waiting for Device" appears again.
@Stovka: I have 7zip installed, the unpacking/extracting of the recovery.img goes fine in Cygwin, but for some reason it just skips the repack part.
@AndreyETO: As soon as I disable debugging mode, superoneclick stops the procedure, so I didn't get far with that
So sorry, I don't really know what is the problem...
It was all ok for me - the one problem was that I had not installed 7-zip, but after installing it worked exactly according to instructions.
If it were successful: after recording recovery.img to the phone is first necessary to go into CWM mode (no run phone) and install the root file attached. End CWM recovery mode is classically done by clicking on "reboot system now", but after the first time there appears one more option (just I don't know what name), which must be confirmed! Otherwise, when you restart the phone again, then will be loaded the original file and the recovery process must be repeated - upload modified recovery.img and then root file via CWM.

Same experience on Allview P6 Stony (P6_0201_V1179 software build). This method works for me - similarly I had to run the script (and the reboot cycle) 2x before it had an effect.
As pointers for others, before you try this method you need to make sure you have ADB drivers installed. Trying to install stock google drivers didn't work at all for me, what worked for me was installing latest PdaNet drivers (pdanetZ350.exe) from here: junefabrics.com/android/download.php *
Don't forget to install OTA Rootkeeper app afterwards and run it once - hopefully saves you the hassle of rooting again if the P6 should receive an incremental update.
Enjoy, thanks Flapperbol!
(*= sorry Im not allowed to post links)
Version 18 also works
Just to let you guys know that version 18 of Root_with_restore works. I just the ADB drivers from the PDAnet install (which I cancelled after the drivers were installed) and the phone is now rooted!
Does anybody know how to get rid of those ugly allview icons? I hate those things.

[Q] I need a little help rooting Neo V

I've rooted and installed my old neo V some time back, but now I've been given another terminal with stock firmware and running 4.3.2 android, my using "DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su" as sugested in other posts in this forum, all that happens is the phone reboots and the bat file reports a bunch of errors, mostly "file is only read", on the other hand flashtool doesn't seem to get me very far as clicking root after the program reconizes the phone does nothing.
Will I have to downgrade from 4.3.2 to 4.0.4 to root the phone? I haven't found any documentation on this.
I remember having to pay like 10 bucks of my credit card and using a cable connected to GND to jump a jtag like conexion off the board last time I did this, I'm sorry if I came to you guys with my problem, but I've had this problem all night.
Once rooted the no need to root it again.. it's 4.2.2 not 4.3.2..
It you wanna downgrade use stock ftf flash using flash tool

[Q] Updating X10a from 1.6 original Android

I recently got a Xperia X10a, and I noticed that it has the android 1.6 on it. I know that the newest version of Android is 4.2 so I started searching the internet for an update to android 4.0.4 at least. I discovered that the android 4 for the X10 isn't completed so I went to android 2.3 and found the site freexperia, there you can download the CM7 for X10. I'm a noob, I don't know what a kernel is and what I can cause to the phone by changing it so I need help, because every tutorial explains how to update from 2.1/2.3 to 2.3.3 or something like that. I also tried to update the phone throug SE Pc companion and update service, but I can't pass through the step of pressing back and plugging the phone in again, I do what is said to do but nothing happens and the phone just turns back on. Also i saw something about the baseband and changing it to most recent one, but I don't know how to do it, and I discovered that you can put multitoutch in the X10. How can I update from android 1.6 to 2.3? I need to update the baseband? If yes how and to what version(i'm from brazil, and I don't know if this change from country to country) What are the main differences between CM7 and the official SE 2.3 updates? Through these updates the multitouch will be automatically installed in my device? I also would like to install clock work mod on my device, how can I do that?
PS.: I read the thread about using the flashtool to do many thing to my device, and the tutorial was very clear, so if I can do what I want using tha tutorial as a foundation the process will be much more easy.
Well, I've been trying to update for a while now and I think I discovered the problem. As I need at least the Android 2.1 to start doing what I want with my phone I have to update via PC companion, but when I reach the end of the preparing step I get an error on my PC, after I turning off the device I plug it in holding down the back key and a pop up apears saying that the device had a malfunctionig and is not conect so I get stuck in this step, as the device is not recognized. Can anyone help me?
What i did with mine is rooted the phone while on 1.6 then changed the region code. After connecting via pc comp i got the update to 2.3.
