What would happen if we ported android 1.0? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yea I was wondering if it would be possible and would it run fast?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

Maybee...because thats about 30 mbs and my rom is about 300 mbs
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App

Yea!
Hmm it would be kind of cool
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

That's an intriguing question. Maybe a developer would like to chime in on this cuz I sure as hell don't know.

Would certainly be interesting. I wonder if there would be some hardware issues that would need fixing based on the old software (similar to XP only recognizing 4gb of ram).
still would be an awesome retro theme!

Ive been around since 1.1(did g1 release with .0? I got it two months late) and let me tell you its not worth the time and effort. Andy was a rough child at first. Also the core frameworks have been optimized so much now thay any speed gains you might gain from lightness of rom, are completely negated.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App

Can someone take my ps3 and turn it into a sega genesis?

Haha
No its just a wonder since it was pretty fast on a 1st gen device.

What is Lag fix?

Hello!
I have a Vibrant and I've been seeing "lag fixes"
What's this? My vibrant doesn't lag? And if I put this lag fix, what does it fix?
Sent from my Archos using XDA App
Some people complain about speed issues when opening apps, opening the market, and other tasks. These lag fixes aim to speed up those I/O issues. If you have no complaints than don't do a lag fix because they all can potentially cause other issues eventually.
Install quadrant standard from market and run it.if your score is above 2000 then u r ok.if not u should look into the lash fix issue.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Sorry I meant lag fix. Thanks to swype.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If you do the quadrant test on your stock vibrant it will never be over 2000. You would be lucky to get over 1000. If your happy with your speed, stick to it. Wait until you install a bunch of apps or something and your lag is apparent.

Will it slow my phone down in any way if I apply it?

LOL, Sorry but that's just hilarious.
If you are happy with your phone, do NOT install a lag fix because it can possibly cause corruption which can dork up some apps. Android 2.2 should be out soon which will be a nice speed improvement.
well some apps lags so lagfix can fix it ^_^ it could jack you up if you dont know how to use it so be cautious always make a nandroid backup before doing anything
Are you the little troll who claimed to have a perfect sense rom and insulted a boatload of devs?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Well it's almost perfect and yea but I got a vibrant and no I'm not gonna troll anyone.

It's better to wait a little. Froyo is coming soon which will address a lot of carp !

Which is faster? Latest bionix or latest axura?

I tried both but I can't really decipher which is faster and snappier. Just wanna here others opinions
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
C, non of the above, the correct answer is the latest trigger.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Since they both those roms are based on the same (or at least similar) FROYO leak, I would expect performance to be pretty similar.
Bionix
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I never tried trigger. I stuck with bionix or axura because I felt they were most stable. Is trigger just as stable as well as fast?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Try the trigger if you want a out of the box fast. But who really cares anymore all are so fast it is just bragging rights at this point
It's fast, try them all and stock with your favorite. They are all good.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
But is trigger also as stable
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes, been using it since it came out, no issues.

So I been running trigger now for about a day so far and it seems about the same in stability and performance as bionix and axura. Maybe others would disagree though

No,no,no! Please don't ban me! I apologize for my ignorance.
Diversity is nice though.
what makes trigger so great? i've used both bionix and axura...i just feel like its just different themes...performance wise i've yet to notice much if any difference at all.
IMO, all roms run very similarly with voodoo enabled and are all based on the Touchwiz source except for CM7 or MIUI. Truly, we only really NEED 2-3 very good roms for others to base them on, but diversity is always great.
Now I am on the latest axura and for right now it seems a bit snappier than both bionix and trigger

Q: Gingerbread 2.3 or 2.4?

Was there any word about whether we're getting version 2.3 or 2.4? I came from a Nexus S and there were nice refinements in that version which I hope we do get in this phone.
Gingerbread really did solve the issue of not needing a Task Killer... EVER!
I'm going with 2.3 for now. Maybe something newer down the line, but, one step at a time
I'd imagine either should be sufficient; the only reason they're using 2.4 is to separate it from the 2.3 developer builds, no?
Just found this, Q2!!!

Thats awesome!!!! I wish we were getting 2.4 just to say we have a higher number
It'd be a nice icing on the cake if we could get the new Sense that the newly announced EVO 3D has got

Has anyone used boot manager for dual booting roms

I don't think its officially supported yet for the 3d but after the last update it tries to let me setup zoos but keeps saying insufficient memory I have 2.3 gb free so not sure how much it needs if anyone else has had any luck can you please explain how u set it up
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
I also have an app called dualromX2 I think it was made for the dinc it uses emmc to dual boot was wondering if I post it if it could be ported to the 3d
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
yeah i second that. I figured people would be all over that dualromx for the 3dvo. I'm surprised that this is not talked about more. I'd imagine once we have AOSP it will be more in demand. But i want it now if anyone can give info on why it hasn't been talked about or if its not gonna be possible please share. thanks
Dual bout manager will work, as long as youre rooted.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Yea id much rather see dualromX work on the 3d
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
It's being worked on. There are several issues with this at the moment. I started the dual boot project last year, but lost motivation. I am actively working on it when I get a chance and also looking into using the extra free space on the emmc that we currently don't have access to. Conap refuses to work with me for some unknown reason, even though a lot of what he uses came from me. Don't worry though, it'll happen. And when it dies there will be some other big things coming out for it, that we've only dreamed of.

Nice unCoRrUpTeD I have been following your project for a year or longer glad to see you haven't gave up I would love for you to get yours going

InItToWinIt has a dual boot.app works with up to 5 roms. Been using it flawlessly for two weeks
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Yea that's the one I was talking about originally it just takes way too much space IMO like 3-4x the rim size and that's crazy with these 400 MB+ sense roms

[Q]psx4droid for O1?

I was looking for some useful apps when I stumbled something about this emulator for PS1 games. Does anyone here tried it on LG p500? I saw some tutorials but the phones they were using are mostly on the high-end bracket..would just like to know if anyone had made it work or if its possible to run it on our phone at the first place
It probably doesn't work with our hardware configuration

Did you try or you just give a guess about that?
Educated guess lol

It works, although badly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO2ie6d-9sc
Keep in mind that the video is stock froyo, so it would be slower than a custom rom
Use FPSE instead. Its way faster. And by fast I mean around 2-3 times. Besides PS1 emulators runs on our phones.
