[Q] How to remove Tmobile logo from phone? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

im planning to get a new tmobile vibrant but i wonder is there anyway to remove the tmobile logo on the front of the phone? is it underneath the glass or on top has anyone tried this before?

You can't, don't mess up like I did, Just let it be.

The only method I can think of involves a bottle of whiskey and a machete.
Sent from my Vibrant

Why would you want to do that anyway? It aint looking cheap or anything on the contrary actually and anyway, the last thing you wanna do is messing your phone up with THIS.

Sharpie? Lol

Are you embarassed to have a tmpbile phone? You could use electrical tape

If you want not to look at it and not ruin your phone buy a roll of pin-striping tape from a auto paint supply, it is cheap and you can most colors. It come in 1/16" - 1/2" common. ou can use that tape to block out the logo, and it will noy come off easily.

You could always buy a new screen protector and black out the top portion (by applying it to the backside of the screen protector) with something like black nailpolish or hobby paint or something.
This would give it a finished look and be removable in case you miss it.

your so retarded.

If you also plan on protecting your phone with a case, otterbox covers that logo.

Why?
I thought it looks pretty good. I can only think of using toner but I'm not responsible if your phone is disfigured.

use a sand paper.

Here here I always love removing any logos. My chevy truck has them all removed.
With the vib I finely discovered the otterbox case covers the logo with perfectly. No hassle no damage and no more seeing that logo

I'm not 100% sure this will work with our phones, but I know for a fact sugar cubes remove logos from a lot of scrap without scratching the surface.

[Q] Removing light scratches from the battery door

I have the vibrant and it's an amazing phone, etc etc etc.
The only thing is that my dad used it before i got it and he didn't have it in a case so, although the screen is virtually impeccable, the battery cover has some light scratches and scuffs.
What are some tips you guys have to inexpensively rid the battery door of light scratches?
You could maybe give car wax a try if you have any handy

use a mild abrasive like car polish then follow up with a wax if you want a sheen. this normally gets rid of decent scratches on the car from dirt racing so it should work on the back cover. rmr less is more. dont goop it on otherwise you will have a b***h of a time getting it off especially on such a small surface.
im scuffing mine up good in preparation for a paint job im tired of the faux carbon fibre look that just attracts finger prints too much.
you could also do what im doing and take some sand paper scuff it up then use a spray paint to cover it, then a clear coat on top to protect the paint. not sure how thats going to turn out yet tho.
You can buy new battery doors on eBay for like $5 bucks. You can get all different cool patterns and colors (I have a metallic silver one on now), or get the stock Galaxy S/Samsung backs (black and purple).

debadge x2

I saw some threads about this in other phones (like bionic)
Now I know we can't get the verizon off the face of our phone since it is under the glass
but it IS possible to take it off the battery cover by rubbing gently with a penny or a fingernail.
I just scratched it off using my thumbnail and it looks nice without the Verizon in white under the red Droid x2.
Wasn't sure if anyone had done this before. Not a big deal but it does look smooth and nice
Edit:: if anyone knows of a way to get the Verizon off the face of the screen please let me know

I heard if you put a tiny layer of something over the logo and then take a sugar cube and rub off where the logo is it will come off. Haven't tried it myself though.
EDIT: I think it was scotch tape, some sort of tape.

Yeah the Verizon logo on battery cover came right off for me. And it was as simple as scraping it away with my thumbnail.
It came off just like I was scratch a lotto ticket ...very easy for battery cover logo.
Now in the face of the phone is a different story lol
It IS under the glass
That's what I thought.thanks for confirmation.
I wonder if I can get to it by taking the phone apart
. There was a video on youtube that shows how to take it apart and put back together. Not sure if that area will be accessible to alter tho.
maybe ill grab me a broken x2 from ebay and try it out sometime

Use tape to cover the lower screen area, mark out the lower nonscreen area including logo with a sharpie, so you have a black area on the surface to match the lower screen where the logo is/was. And put on a screen protector.
Ahhh. I get it now lol .like painters tape for a straight edge lol
..why did u think I work for AT&T? Cuz I don't want Verizon showing? Haha
Im thinking clearer now can ya tell? Lol

Is there a way to get rid of the Verizon logo?

I really want this phone but can't stand the Verizon logo. Is there any way to get rid of it or cover it up somehow?
The one on the top of the screen? Or the one on the notification shade? Well the one on the phone itself is in there for good , I mean unless you find a case or something that will cover it ... As far as the notification shade , that can probably be done by a developer within a made Rom

Yep I mean the physical one on top of the screen. I did a quick search and saw that on previous phones people have been able to use a penny or sugar cube to scratch off the logo. If that's not the case, do you think it could work to get a very thin sticker to cover it up with? I just can't stand it..

I'm almost certain its in the screen , I mean you could try to scratch it off , but hey it might even be under the screen or in ... A thin sticker would work , but that's on you... Some folks just too much time on their hands.
The logo is printed under the glass. You'd have to tear open the phone, and get a replacement, unbranded screen (I believe the screen and glass are fused together) and rebuild. Aka, it's basically impossible. It's not that ugly, get used to it.

Now, who is brave enough to open our phone and replace that horrible vzw logo??
Just looking at the pictures, it doesn't seem to match and it never says it's an oem part. Also, you might void your warranty by doing this. Depends on how they can tell that you've opened the phone up, if they can.
You can buy stickers to put over the ugly button we have now!

Of course it will void warranty and there's always a covered up screw that samsung/vzw can see if the phone has been tempered with. And yes, I believe these are NOT OEM.

There is a youtube video of someone taking it apart. It will be a PITA and does not seem worth it. Also, by taking it apart, chances are when you put it back together, some areas will be sticking up or out due to the glue and tape not being the same.
Here's a sample: after you take out the back, antenna, and other things to get to the screen, you must use a heat gun to loosen up the glue, then pry the glass from the digitizer just to get to the home button. Good luck getting it back together and looking how it did when you bought it.
Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6CJy71_9Ok

im using the black aluminium button on my white note2 and i like it
It doesn't bother me at all, but since so many people seem bothered by it I decided to see if I could get rid of it. I tried acetone on a qtip and an exacto. Didn't even budge. Ended up leaving a small scratch with what appears to be exposed aluminum. I'm guessing it is an enamel baked on to aluminum, and the White is not on top of black. I have the titanium version.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I really don't mind it. If it's not at the top, it doesn't really affect me. As long as they don't brand it by ghosting it on the stream, no issues with me.
The Verizon Wireless at the bottom of the pull down notification menu is much much worse

I haven't messed with phones, but usually covered screws can be taken out without them knowing if you remove and reset the cover properly. Sometimes devices have something that rips when you open it, and then it's much much harder to open without them knowing.

I think she made a fuss over nothing, she was in a place where hundreds of people coming through were taking a look at the phone, holding it all over the place, of course it's going to get mucky, all you need to do is wipe it clean.
The real question is how the plastic moulding will hold against UV damage and this will take several months if not years to notice.

Mine does receive a blue stain on the back from one of my pair of blue levi jeans. Will wash it with the pockets out next time to really clean the dye out. Otherwise no the phone hasn't stained from anything.

This is a sure way to get rid of the stain on the phone but be careful, rubbing alcohol destroys adhesive. That is why it is real handy at removing stickers off anything Just wondering if this could effect the bonding of the phone.
