I think its safe to say that nobody knows. Supposedly were supposed to be getting Android 2.3 with Sense 2.1 but thats still a rumor

I hope so. After seeing videos of the new Sense on the Evo 3D I can't wait till it comes to the TB! Hopefully they'll be a custom ROM in the future.

Cool thanks for the input, thought I might missed something when hey showcase the new UI

Can't wait to get my hands on this!! Looks like it will be awesome!

I actually prefer sense 2.0 right now. That's what I bought into, not 3.0(which I'd never even seen) My device is running really fast and smooth and who knows how 3.0 will run on the T-Bolt. I'd rather try it thru a custom ROM than have HTC/Verizon do an official update.

It's 2.3 not 3.0.
Its runs smooth on my G2. I think it's a huge improvement over 2.2.1. I agree with the above poster. I'd rather flash a custom port than an OTA.

bleh, my sense seems to hang up when i go into my txt mssgs, like ill click on a txt, and jus sit there, then open up someone elses txt (txtd the wrong person a cpl times, not good if u dnt wanna get caught -_- lol)

SENSE 3.0 is what he's talking about
not Android 3.0
We currently have sense 2.0

Again sorry for he confusion but all this is asking is... Will we get the Sense UI that the new EVO 3D just displayed at CTIA

myTouch 4g Port

Has anyone ever worked on bringing this port to the Vibrant? I really love the Espresso rom, but haven't seen it for the Vibrant.
Please be kind enough to let me know if there is the Espresso port running out in the wild or at least why it hasn't been done? Is there a lack of demand for it or is it a very hard port to do?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It's the same concept as porting HTC sense. Yes it's hard. And technically, illegal to a degree.
Check out the vibrant dev section.... There is in fact a Sense port being developed at this time... In that thread there are youtube videos which the developer barakinflorida has posted showcasing the progress he has made... unfortunately, he seems to be working solo at this point in time but I have a feeling Eugene will jump in at any time... My feeling is Vibrant owners are closer than ever to having a full Sense port..
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
But when you say sense port are you talking about mytouch 4g or stock HTC Sense? Thanks to both of you for the quick response. I ask because it seems like the Nexus One its the only phone with that port. I tried it before on my N1 and it was almost good enough to be a daily driver.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Dude like I said all the answers you need are in that post, in addition I do not believe it is the mytouh4g sense port but the Desire rom version of sense, which I have heard is superior...
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
pffftt...id almost trade my vibrant for a mytouch 4g at this point
Lol! Thank goodness for all the projects with potential going on....

No offense to you, but I clearly stated that I am looking for the myTouch 4g port not HTC Sense. Thanks anyways. I guess we do not have a Dev working on bringing Espresso Sense to our Vibrant.

Lol, and I clearly stated all the answers including what version of sense is being ported can be found in that thread. Also, this may be considered wishful thinking but perhaps once that sense port is fully working this may open the doors to other versions of sense being ported, however this is not an easy task hence the wishful thinking...

seriously, you're requesting yet another sense port, when we still haven't gotten a very functional port yet?
Lol I guess a group of dev should get together and work on it

Might be easier with the newer versions of Sense seeing as how less intrudive it is on an OS level. That said i'm sure its still a PITA.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Yes it is another sense rom.. but i actually think it would be easier since a newer version of it (as said).. looks way nicer as well
Its not likeim demanding it or anything.. just seeing if anybody would be up to it.. even tho the phone IS suppose to he better then the sgs2.. i guess the ROM parr of it doesnt make a difference.. more of other things

No one really knows completely since there have been no real announcements.
I actually think the sense 3.5 we have been seeing is a bliss specific rom kinda like mysense on thr mytouch phones.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
actually what the rumor is its a slimmed down version of 3.0 for lower end HTC phones but still keeps the lockscreen, etc.
sense 3.5 is ugly as hell
I'm sorry but that launcher is hideous. Good god what is HTC thinking? At any rate, Sense 3.5 from a feature standpoint looks to be a mediocre upgrade over 3.0

No, it is relying on the ICS framework.
Is it possible to get this running on OG evo at some point? If I had some dev knowledge i could help but i just have a phone im willing to break. :3
~even though it's in the E3D section we still need some love too. :c

It is possible. No one can promise it'll run at top speed though.
Normally I dont bother overclocking my device but if it would make it run faster, i would rather kill my battery in 20 minutes just for that amount of ics goodness.
No gapps.?
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
I will say I like sense 3.0 however once this becomes a full functional rom in the future i'll definitely be running it. from the videos I've seen and from the stream I saw tonight ICS is gonna be sick. but in the meantime I will continue to run the warm rom
Will this every be the great? I seem to remember that we could never get a good honeycomb ROM when it was a sdk port
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Thanks for this topic. I was just about to post this asking if devs would jump on it. I don't develop ROMs, but can't wait to see what these awesome devs can do with ICS on the HTC Evo 3D. Knowing them, we'll have it before the Galaxy Nexus even comes out lol

Difference Between Sense 3.6 & Sense 4.0

Alot of you have been asking this question. Well they ARE different. If you don't want to take my word. Here you go
----
Link : www.pocket-lint.com/news/45134/htc-sense-3-6-vs-sense-4
----
Take a about 5 minutes or more to read the comparison. This is to end all useless and repetetive posts asking. "How is sense 3.6 different from sense 4.0?"
Leave your feedback. Remember, I DID NOT WRITE THE REVIEW/COMPARISON . Please don't go saying that I'm ripping off somebody's review.
In the bottom you'll see a review
-----By tcy148:
" I got the upgrade on my Sensation XE a few days ago and have been playing around with it since. It is
SO much faster than gingerbread - the screens just glide! Games and browsing is also much faster.
I've done a few benchmark tests on it - Quadrant I'm getting 2800 vs 2200 (gingerbread). Antutu 5300
vs 4800. Nenamark2 40 fps vs 24 fps! Browsermark 88K vs 72K.
Plus, I seem to have more free memory now.
-----
So hopefully we'll get perfomance boosts on our EVO 3D !
--------EDIT:
Seems like the wallpaper won't move during transition like it did in sense 2.x and sense 4.0 .

I was more or less wondering this myself recently after using Newt's Sense 4 ROM. I was curious if there was any benefit of going backwards to 3.6 - this just answered my question. Sense 3.6 looks like a cheap plastic imitation of Sense 4. Terrible!
Thanks for the link, definitely made my mind up.

I think Sense 4.0 looks far more polished than it's predecessors... Plain Vanilla Android has always looked just that, plain. I know plenty of people are more visually attracted to that, but personally I've always thought AOSP ROMs looked like a 'rough draft' of Android. I've run ICS and didn't have it installed for more than an hour. Google obviously doesn't seem to spend a whole lot of time on 'presentation' versus 'performance'. Which is fine with me, as every company puts their own skin on it anyway. I know Google adds cool visual stuff here and there, like transitions and what not, but overall it looks fairly plain. This is just my personal opinion, though. That's the reason I've kept buying HTC is for Sense UI...
They both have ups and downs except for the crayola crayon UI by Sammy lol
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Personally Sense to me has always been my favorite, and in my opinion, Sense has more customization options and more traditional feel for HTC. So you'll never be able to change sense. It's always going to be alike to its predecessors. Unlike stock Android, GB Stock is wayyy different then ICS stock android

I've always liked sense, but since rooting my phone it's been nice to hop around on different ROMs for a while. using meanrom now which is basically sense.
