Not meaning to disagree... but even if he did all of those things I am not sure if his question would be answered.
Nobody knows unrevoked plans. At least from what I have heard.
There was a tweet stating they planned to work on the TB but I have not heard one word since then. And there was also some little disagreement between TeamAndIRC and unrevoked I believe... but I think they all acted like adults and moved past that moment.
Honestly though, where else is the OP supposed to pose this question? This would be the proper sub-forum if I am not mistaken.

I hope to see unrevoked for the TB.

I dont see why they would get into it, having unrevoked would only make yhe community grow.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App

I am not knowledgeable of the entire situation... so I will not act like I understand everything and I do not wish to provoke further disagreement. I would like the community to work together and be constructive
The last I heard was that one member of unrevoked did not agree with the root methods being used by TeamAndIRC in their guide. They did not feel they were safe, yet that have been proven otherwise. There are no bricked TBs on record when following TeamAndIRC's root method.
Hopefully the unrevoked team will be able to implement something for the TB like they have in the past for other devices. I know we are all looking forward to it!

I also look forward to an unrevoked rom.

not sure if this was a joke...
unrevoked does not specialize in custom ROMs. they specialize in one-click methods (unrevoked.com)

Why do people keep asking what the status is on the Touch Pro 2? Check the threads!

I am putting this up in favor of the devs. I am not a dev myself, but I certainly respect what they are doing! What I can't stand are the people who keep asking dumb questions, like: when will this be fully working? Or: What is the status of android on touch pro 2? Look at the threads! If you took the time to look, you would know that there is still work to be done. Again, thank you devs!

Noobs will be noobs and there will never be a shortage of them lol, not much you can do about it. That's what I've learned with forums.
Noobs will be Noobs is right. I actually think the status updates have been very frequent and easy to navigate. (even for people like me that haven't been around much lately! :O )

I am willing to add anything if anyone suggests anything that needs adding.

Pretty sure a guide like that should be stickied with the rest of those threads at the top... that would be veryy helpful. I would be very confused too coming into the android threads for the first time.

Maybe at the "download your files here" section, say that the users don't necesarily need to know how those files work and what exactly they do, just that they are needed parts for android to work. Just trying to think if I was a beginner and what might confuse or overwhelm me. Just a suggestion but it probably wouldn't make a difference. Other than that I just wonder who needs to be told in order to get this thing stickied. This is kind of the equivelant of the thread in the WinMo section on flashing ROMs for noobs.

Could this help Devs root?

A team of devs in the HTC Incredible 2 forum found a way unlock the bootloader via an exploit. I just read an article somebody posted in our development forum. I just wanted to make a thread so more people are aware. It could be something for the devs to look into that could possibly lead to our phones being rooted.

I don't see it hurting our chances. If nothing else it may give un an approach and method to try with the E3D.

The hack is done by alpharevx team just google it.
But this didnt help them root they already had temp root through gingerbreak. This gives them full s-off evidently.

What's new? What did I miss?

Like most people I got busy the last few weeks and now I feel like I'm completely lost to what's new. I tried finding websites listing all the new things that have happened but was unable.
I think having a thread listing all the new developments would be appreciated by many and would eliminate a lot of threads.
So since 1.83 I've been able to figure out that ginger bread is now available but you can't do the OTA update if you root, so a post saying ginger bread is out and how to install it would probably help a lot of people.
I know that web2sd is also working now and it allows you to put linux on your sd card.
This would be a good thread to mention the bootloader was cracked.
I haven't learned it all yet but would gladly explain more if I could.
If someone can elaborate on anything it would help.
An explanation on what pudding is would help me and I'm sure a lot of other people.

Listen, the point of these bulletin boards are to post "new developments". We spend our time posting, so the least you could do is read through our posts.
I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just not going to waste my time repeating what has already been posted in multiple threads.
This would also be a good thread to let people know about the hard brick issues with flashing, I still need to figure all that out before I say anything but it seems like you shouldn't preform any OTA updates after flashing to ginger bread?
I just think this thread would save a lot of peoples time instead of going through 30 pages of posts to figure everything out.
I'll explain as much as I can so people can just reference a post in this thread instead of digging through the original post.

That's the idea of this thread, to prevent multiple threads by just explaining it once here, so when someone wants to know what the deal is with something they read one post in here instead of sifting through the original.
I'm not trying to be rude either but you wasted some time posting that. I just thought this would make it easier on people and prevent multiple threads.
You dont have to help or if you already said it somewhere post the link and I'll explain it.
Edit: I think people would agree it's daunting to try and read all the posts in the past month to make sure you do everything in the right order to get the newest updates when you could reference this thread and learn it a lot faster.
Trust me, it would make things easier to read one thread than dozens and I've already read multiple "how to"threads when this one could have answered their question

The S-OFF Thread

I guess, since the thread in the dev section is closed, we need one here where we can discuss, ask, etc. everything regarding the matter, till they open the other one back... Just saw that they have completed testing on Rezound, Vivid, Raider, Sensation, Amaze of course, and 1 or 2 more devices. This is going to be massive!
Hope after they rocked the forum, they would occasionally give us some updates on their progress, so many people are waiting for this...

Check the OP of Fuses and Globaltrons thread... That's where ALL updates will be. Really, the only update needed is "hey, s=off script works safely and is now ready for release." They have given several updates for those that want to read the thread. What else do you really want? I mean, it will be released when it's released, and until then, we don't bug the OP about it, we don't post in their thread, and we just wait patiently. Idk why that's so hard for some people. I mean damn, they had to lock the thread. Smh. It sounds like you already know about the updates, since u just posted that they're waiting on just a couple more devices to work...

No, I posted that testing has finished for all mentioned devices + 1 or 2 more, which names I just didnt recall. Also, this thread is for people who want to comment on s-off and everything about it, dont forget that the original s-off thread was closed because people just couldnt stop posting comments despite globatron's request. Thats the whole point here.
p.s. besides, they have the same thread in Rezound's General Forum because the real one in the dev section is closed as well. i dont see a reason why cant we have one here too... its not about patience, its just a forum, dude

What is there to discuss? S-Off will be released when they are ready, and even then, it doesn't mean much for people who aren't devs. Am I missing something here?

Did I say I had nothing to discuss? No one answered me when I asked if I was missing something about S-Off for us non-devs, so is there actually anything to discuss? Am I not letting anyone chat about it in this thread? Last time I checked, I'm not a mod and I didn't lock down this thread.

Are you serious? Why would I even pay attention to your trolling? Perhaps people in the Rezound forum have nothing to discuss either, they just hit 340+ comments in 5 days, cuz just have some time to waste. If the original s-off thread here was opened, Im sure it wouldve had 10 extra pages after globatron's request, but if its a separate thread then "yeah, what's in there to discuss"? Well, Im not a kindergarten teacher and wont explain the same thing over and over...

[Q] Got S-Off. Nothings stoping us now?

So we have S-Off now. Therefore, there are no excuses not to be supported in Cyanogen minus the source code and Offical OTA of the ICS update. Am I correct? Miui, Cyanogen, and AOSP/AOKP . I hope the ball starts rolling because I'm estatic!!! Post in and tell me the truth and your opinion.
The ball has been rolling. S-Off has nothing to do with AOSP/AOKP. DMeadows and I'm sure others has been working on a Cyanogenmod port for some time now. Protekk recently joined the quest as well. Read up in the dev section

s-off doesn't mean AOSP, MIUI, etc.
As stated about a thousand times before the RIL, which is what is holding us back, is not going to be any easier to get with s-off.
EDIT: Damnit, got Ninja'd
why do people keep saying that s-off gets us asop? Who started that rumor lol!
S-Off = Hboot fully unlocked.
Aosp/Aokp = RIL source needed, not S-Off.

I think my question may have been worded incompletely/wrong. What I'm asking is, since we have S-Off, won't people like cyanogen be MORE likely to support us since you wont have to flash hboots and what have you to change roms and radios and such? I understood the whole RIL problem holding AOSP back a long time ago. I'm talking about "Official" support.

By the way... please save all the comments trying to make it seem as though I never read this forum. I do. I'm not a developer and I only understand so much of what it means to achieve things. I'm new to HTC. Motorola was much simplier to flash things, so this dev unlock and s-off stuff is all new to me. Do I get it? yes. Has it taken a while? Yes. Do I understand why the RIL is the bottleneck... only that I know whats needed to fix it is in the offical source that we don't currently have so it can have the right files and commands. So seriously, please stop the *sigh*, "We've covered this one thousand million times", "Omg not this again" comments. I'm a mature adult. I'd like to talk to some who are also.

what do you expect from us when someone with 8 posts, asks a question incorrectly? We can't guess what you intended to say, and we had every right to be annoyed with what you posted as your original post has been asked "about a million times."
I also take personal insult from the fact you are referring to me as immature as you tried to quote me there, when you are the one who can't even articulate a question to ask what you "claim" you intended to say.
Good day!
I don't think the s off is going to bring any devs that wouldn't have taken on the project while it was s on. Most of the devs who walked away from the rezound early on did so because early on the user base was rude, demanding, appreciative, and many were unintelligent and appreciative.
It has improved, there's a lot of really respectful and brilliant rezound users, and there's a lot of great devs among us, but as a whole, maybe due to the marketing of such nice hardware being based on "beats" there's still a lot of drama and unneeded crap being stirred up by a few bad apples.
The aosp ball started rolling last week again with protekk deciding to take on RIL, and others will also contribute to the effort.
S-off is greatly appreciated by me and a huge help to the community as a whole. But it's definitely not what was holding up AOSP in my opinion. I don't know any devs who would be asked to help out on the RIL by a friend of theirs and would say "no way I'm touching that because that phone is s on with an oem unlocked bootloader.

Not to be pessimistic, but do you mean unappreciative?

Seems protekk is hard at work for us according to his twitter.
Nosympathy: Please do not take it as a personal insult. I do appreciate all the devs on here and I know that there are surely some who are not mentioned anywhere on the the forum who deserve praise. My problem is that there is no reason to post if all you're going to do is put down the question. If you have a problem answering the question... just don't answer it. A non constructive answer... is no answer at all. I've read thread after thread where unknowing people ask questions about things that only people who read this forum constantly know. Is the information somewhere in the depths of this forum... yeah I'm sure its tucked away somewhere, but you know what? Sometimes its just easier to ask, so please don't take it personal, just let someone else answer if you don't want to answer it. I'm not referring to any particular person. Quite honestly, I'm tired of seeing threads where 3/4 of the posts are this nonsense bashing people about something already posted somewhere else. Isn't that what the moderators are for? Yeah. I'm not gonna sit here and get flamed for an honest question, and getting your panties in a wad because you don't like me quoting you in response to your reply that didn't help anything at all...
I do appreciate ALL whom have made even the slightest contribution to this phone. However, it doesn't make you mightier than God, nor does it give you a right to blow smoke over everyone.
