does anyone know where i can get this?
Sent from my ZTE Blade

I think I might still have it on my server at work, but it's too big to e-mail. Do you have a FTP server or something?

thank you guys for your help, just tried it out and figured that you cant downgrade from froyo to eclair

No, you can't, but if you absolutely want it, you have to make a thing like UrukDroid but with Eclair ^^

Simple Question

I have been trying to do this for weeks.....all I want to do is have either Live Wallpapers on my NEW 2.1 Leak......root the leak (I hear you cant) or install Amon Ra's recovery image.....
Are either of these possible? Am I SOL? Thanks!
in your words .....if you are running leaked you are SOL
Live Wallpapers is possible on leak, if you want to rewrite it.
Thanks ppl...i guess im stuck with a non rooted 2.1 that i cant do stuff with....how about swype? Can I get that?

Gotchya
www . geekword . net / swype-for-android-leaks-out-download-it-here/
Now I installed it as per directions....I was unable to uncheck the android keyboard because it was not in settings>Keyboards
Yet I did check the swype box....still is default keyboard
Long press on any text box and select input method. Then click on swype.

What stuff were you expecting to do? It's your own fault for installing the leak before doing some (any) research, anyway...hopefully OTA will come soon and we can root or hopefully install that. I'm running the second leak for the record.

There is no tutorial, someone needs to do some java work, and I don't have the knowledge to do it. I can point a java dev in the right direction.

stock 2.1 ROM?

is there an OTA stock 2.1 Rom i can just flash, and unroot with?
i know that if i root, i can flash other roms and what not , but then if i need to return my phone to verizon if it breaks, can i just flash the stock OTA 2.1 rom and i will lose root and verizon won't know i was ever rooted?
if i can do that can someone give me a link? i swear i saw one yesterday but i cant find it.
also, would verizon be able to tell if i did the same thing with the v3 leak, flashed a non rooted rom?
...im so confused
edit: if this is in the wrong section, sorry, please move to the correct one
77 views and not 1 single response wow.........
do a search for 2.1 RUU
thats what you need to flash to set your phone back to original factory 2.1 so that verizon could never tell you touched it

you would be surprised at how many people lurk around the forum without even the thought of helping someone.

this will instruct you on where to get the OTA and how to install it as well.

I'm looking for an easy way to unroot my phone without a computer.
Anyone know how to do this?

first time out and rooted what now?

i rooted my device using androot. woohoo simple. Now everyone please tell me what i can do with my dell streak (US version still on 1.6).
PS: i tried the wifi tether but it is not working for me keeps giving error.
after some hassle I got 2.1 on my US Streak, it's well worth it, way more stable than 1.6 was.........Barnacle Wifi works with 1.6 I believe if you don't want to flash custom ROMS. There's lot's to read around here.

Yeah been reading lost of good stuff to get after root. Thanks for the reply, will give barnacle a go.
Not development related, move to general.
adfree is a good reason for using root.

Is there an zip or a link page that would be cool... Any info would help....can I do the qdl tool with djs 2.2 in it?
No qdl will only get u to froyo 308 I believe . Once you get there you can make the jump to Steve's froyo.

wow really is this the easiest way to get to dj Steve 2.2.....im kind of a newb it took me a lil bit just to do the qdl tool on this thing
from what i know yes because that is the only way i know how to do it. the steps are pretty straight forward, which step are you stuck on?
I have never flashed a rom on any phone just used the qdl tool so im kinda scared to do it I already have 2.2 on my streak but keep hearing how much better dj steves is..... Is it worth the time and headaches like I said im a newb at this hole rom thing...
to be honest, im not really sure since this is my first android device and the day i got it i went straight to steves rom so cant tell u if its worth it or not
Dj steves well perform better overall and have minor tweaks. His rom is always constantly updating, so look at his change log to see what exactly it offers. Don't expect any crazy themes though its gonna look like stock 2.2 stage ui, but u also have the option for gingerbread launcher.

cant downgrade back to firmware 2.0.71..please help!

Hello all, even though i am pleased with the archos updates, I have decided to revert back to firmware 2.0.71 as I had no issues with the firmware, no browser crashes etc. Can someone please explain to me how this is done? I hope I do not have to root the device in order to do this...I tried resetting and then reinstalling the old firmware, but i get the error code when doing this. I am only able to install the latest firmware ..whoever helps i will send them a beer
You should just be able to copy the 2.0.71 firmware to the root of your device and as soon as you unplug the USB cable it should say "Do you want to update blah blah" and you click OK.
If it is throwing and error, then perhaps you need to step back from 2.1.8 to 2.1.4 or something first.
P.S. Send me a large bottle of Baltika 9. It costs like $4.00 but it will knock a brother on his ass.
@Explore, lol..thanx man but i tried the prior firmware n got the same error message about the firmware being too old for the device..the only time the update works is when i update with the same firmware that i already have on my device..which i find odd. Do i need to root my device to get this to work?
Well, Archos does not allow you to downgrade the device firmware... but apparently there is a hack which works... haven't done it myself, but give it a shot if you wish... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905053
@Craig ive seen that link but doing this voids ur warranty. There seems to be plenty of members that have downgraded without rooting the device...if someone could tell me how they got around the 212 error message id appreciate it

You never mentioned what device you have.
Oh, I have the Archos 101 8 gig. I am so confused why this is not working?? Thank u all for the assistance
I was able to go between 2.1.4 & 2.0.71 several times, with and without formatting....
Now that I've upgraded to 2.1.8, I can't downgrade.
I guess Archos "fixed" another non problem.....

Nope you can't even downgrade to 2.1.04 I just confirmed it on my A101IT.
Yes Archos again solved a non issue. I wish they stop with that sort of thing.
