Ya buddy. Visit http://webchat.freenode.net/ and enter "#htc-evo-3d" as the channels. Enter a nickname and enter the reCAPTCHA that you see in the box. Then connect. OR download mIRC and it'll do that same thing but in a program form for your windows pc.

I recommend to check out a client for windows called "x-chat 2" .. its free and i much prefer it to mIRC anyway. Plus i'm used to it from Linux

While I agree in part, if you look at the topic when you enter the room it does give you the information you're looking for.
Imagine sitting in that IRC channel for an hour or so and hearing people ask the same question over and over and over again (even though the information has been posted in the topic)...even you'd get sarcastic and annoyed eventually.

And instead of telling people how to not go about the right way to get a free browser is just stuipd on your part. Log On it's free and enjoy it. I read this web site a lot. So before someone else flames, this is really not the place for a survey. that belongs in the off-topic forum. if you go to the skyfire forums, there is a large part of that forum dedicated to feedback about the program.

easier to know/find bugs/etc..
and if they like wht they see then obviously they will donate
P.S.: even i dont have a Play but i try my best to develop for this device

Like I said, if the guy gives ANY proof, I will gladly admit that I was wrong and apologize (after all, we are all civil here). However, for example, some random guy you never seen before knocks at your door and asks for money in exchange for something amazing in the future, you'd think he's crazy. I'm judging a book by it's cover here, but that's not always wrong. Again, I still don't believe in this guy, but if he proves me wrong, I will gladly and publicly apologize.
And some advice to op. If you want to insult me, please try (try) to use proper english. That way we can have an argument or debate like a couple of adults and not scream at each other like children. Don't say it's not your first language or you don't know it well (I understand those people), because I know. I don't care how you write otherwise, but keep that in mind when you want to argue with me.

in order to discourage development, development has to exist in the first place. What we have seen from this guy is not development, it's bad spelling, baseless accusations and mockery to other users. I'm all for discouraging those things.
I got to thinking that it might be nice to have an IRC channel as a common and easy place to discuss all things Eris. Maybe this will be a complete bust but I set up a channel on freenode if anybody wants to join and hang out. I imagine it will be slow to gain users if anybody comes at all but hoping we can get some use and enjoyment out of it.

You are supposed to boot into fastboot while sd card is removed and install sd card while in hboot i'm assuming. Either way It doesnt seem to be working for others either.

That file is the build.prop with a different name. All it does is tell the phone that there is a smart_io.crd file, but it doesn't have the right information on it. You could name anything smart_io.crd and you'll get the same results.
No linking to his website. He's been banned from xda and we won't allow linking to websites where devs charge for work freely obtainable on xda.

I get that he was banned for stuff but linking to the "think tank forum section" where they are actually working on the s-off process and doing so for free shouldn't be an issue really. no?
Or is it the fact he provides stuff for charge on a completely different and unrelated section of his site that can be done for free?
regardless seems hes messing with the smart_io.zip thing that the devs here rattled around for a long time before we got s-off. So far doesn't look like much more than a bunch of trial going on and somewhat familiar to what it looked like here to start with too.
How does one boot the phone and then be able to get the sd card in? the battery needs to be out for the sd switch?

In all fairness, the_scotsman is correct. Most of you that aren't familiar with the HTC EVO SHIFT rooting drama, don't know the full story behind why he was banned. It's easy to look at one side of the story then just ignore the rest, but probably not very wise. I'm sure plenty of you have read the information/stories on devnull's website, although perhaps you should trust in the moderator's decisions since there is a lot that happened that you guys don't know about.

I was thinking of requesting all members out in the community (at least on XDA) to put a shout out to HTC and/or AT&T for getting us update to Ice Cream Sandwich. Perhaps if we were all to send in an email or something then it may get the point across to them that we want ICS - if not at least some news about their plans. If we all pool in and probably bombard them it may get us some more solid response rather than only 1 or 2 of us trying our luck.
I was thinking that around the 15th of May we would all get to it.

Many of you have heard about thenews posted at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651651. We will however still continue with the above plans tomorrow-I.e. 15th May 2012 by contacting HTC by different means. However, a small change. Please add in that give us ICS or release the source code and partition block data so that we can do so if you'll aren't interested.

Do sign, spread the word and join in tomorrow. We shall repeat the exercise on the 1st June again. HTC is liable to answer us so we deserve an answer. Chances are more we will get an answer if we all join in.

we should do that, and also use the public platform - Facebook page, twitter, HTC ics blog (http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/). all with the same massage at the same day..

Agreed. Hope more people will join in. I shall PM as many people with the Jetstream to join in at a later time.

I'm in if it means spamming the blog/twitter/facebook, but I will not participate in email-bombing some poor CSR. That's not going to get anything done, and it'll piss off someone who, presumably, has done nothing wrong.

Would it be a good idea to add in an online petition too? If yes, anyone willing to take that up and get it started as well and share details here?
I am in the process of manually getting hold of the users who have a Jetstream so as to PM them all about the plan and ask for their support too.
Have got only the Development section to check for users who posted in the General, Accessories and Apps sections. Will take a while for sure.

It is my opinion that we shouldn't do this until xda posts an rss news feed about the organized attempt to contact htc and plea for an update, potentially reaching more users to join this bandwagon.

Me too. And contacting AT&T probably won't do much good. It's not like HTC's released ICS for the Jetstream and AT&T is holding it back. If AT&T + Rogers could market this as an ICS tablet, it'd theoretically sell better.

That is also a good idea. Don't mind it either way. I managed to list out those active on the forum and am ready to send them all a pm to invite them to join in-its around 120 or 130 people. But then again we aren't certain how many will join in too.
I don't know how XDA will post the RSS and when. If that is what others feel would be the correct step ahead, then let's do that. Opinions from others? I am willing for either options and will surely contribute the best I can. Basically we need to take an organised step with a lot of the users out here so as to catch HTC'S attention rather than a few of us just getting small "ignorance is bliss cues" from HTC - and for this I do feel more the merrier would be more effective rather than the earlier the better.
On another note, how can we get XDA to issue such a News feed? Do we have to request someone or contact someone or something? Can the forum moderator also please guide us about this?

I feel it would be better to add in our own messages rather than the same hum drum of same messages. And let's add in the HTC USA Facebook page as well to the list.
As seen above, typhoopnikan feels it would be a better idea to wait for XDA to issue an RSS then we take action. I feel its a good idea too. Others please voice your opinion so we can decide. Perhaps if 1 of you could poll in, we will go with the majority (sorry but I don't know how to start a poll here or would have done so myself)
And as far as including HTC Flyer section guys also in, it would certainly catch the attention of HTC more than just us Jetstream guys but it would also take a lot more organising, spreading the word more and getting more to join in which would surely take more time. If someone from the Flyer section can take the responsibility to pool in and coordinate with us, perhaps it could work.

Contacting AT&T and/or Rogers I felt would be a good idea so that we don't leave any page untouched. Personally I don't have either so they will just not reply to any of my queries. I sim unlocked my device around December 2011 - January 2012 and have been using different SIMs with it. Still, I would go with the majority-as the majority say, so we shall do.

1. Via "tip us" page and let them know about this. Though, we may get ignored. http://www.xda-developers.com/suggest-content/
2. Contact those who often publish on XDA about EVO devices. Ones I search for and get consistent results are

These two members have consistently shown interest/posted about EVO Flyer and Jetstream on XDA news feed. I would contact them or alert them of this thread.
I think this is building up to something real.

Cool. If they also show some response and the RSS news feed of xda does click, we may have to postpone the date a bit. Let's see. I shall PM the people whose I'D I have managed to collect in any case. I will add in the details about waiting for an xda RSS feed in order to bring more attention and also about possibility of the guys over at flyer to join us in which case, we may postpone the event to probably something like the 1st of next month in order to gather more momentum.
