How do you push or install an apk with Astro or Root Exp.

I flashed the new 2.2 obidian last night and I find I need to flash or push or install an apk for the calendar so it will sync. I have placed the apk on the root of the internal sd and have tried to install etc with astro and with Root explorer to no avail it just said not installed. Is there a way to move it or copy it to systems/apps? I know nothing about adb and am confused by what I have read about it. In the thread for Obedian it was mentioned using astro or root explorer to push it to systems/apps but did not say how it could be done. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Q] cant find busybox in terminal emulator?

hi guys,
new to all this and have rooted my x10 mini mainly in order to remove excess apps that came with the phone (and i'm sure i'll start using root access for other things too!)
having a bit of a problem though...
what i've done so far:
updated from OEM 1.6 to 2.1 via sony webste
used SuperOneClick to gain root access
added SuperUser
added titanium backup and used that to download busybox
installed terminal emulator
in terminal emulator i enter su - and this gives me access fine.
however when i type in busybox it says not found. i've rebooted after every app installation etc.
i gathered (probably incorrectly) that this may be because busybox isn't in a path or something, so i would need to navigate to the busybox folder first? however i cant find anything called busybox on my SD card!!
help please!!
cheers, Adam
well i still cand find busybox, BUT.....
didn't realise I can browse root with ES File Explorer that I already had - gunna delete apps now
cheers!!
<edit>
scrap that, says i'm not allowed lol.

Look for it in the market. That one works, i had the same problem. Titanium seems to install an old version of this one, and sometimes it fails.

[Q] Root access on rooted 2.3.3 device

Hello
I have had this same problem on doomlords (With z's working xrec) and wolfbreaks rooted 2.3.3 roms
1. Root explorer always FC
2. Other explorers show the folder /data/data is empty
3. adb cannot push files to /data/data
'copy failed permission denied'4. When in recovery if I mount system and data manully then adb push works
Has anyone else had the same problem, or can you give me some advice to help me

But then my root explorer closed and i cant start it up and i cant download apps from the market to. Then i connected my phone to the computer and started sony update service and installed my phone again. Can i root now my phone again and install cwm?

Yes you can, but don't do it manually. You deleted some system folders, instead of just overwriting the necessary files in those folders.
Put this file on your sd-card (direct download, credits to nobodyAtall)
Use flashtool:
Root your phone
Install xRecovery
Reboot into xRecovery
Choose 'Install zip from sd-card' and flash the above zip.
You'll have CWM after a reboot
Or, root your x10 mini (flashtool does an excellent job on this) and then use RecoverX for an easy installation of CWM...

Android on Wetab

hi guys,
i have a wetab, and recently i installed windows 8 on it, and it works so good
since 2 days i liked to try and see how will android be on it but i dont want to format the windows 8
therefor i made an sd card bootable with android 4.0.3 installed on it, it the the project android-x86
in all cases all went well, but i realise that it have superuser.apk , and yes the rom is rooted, BUT
you cant grant access for root, what i mean is
i can open the root explorer, go to system/app delete what ever i want it work, but when i want to change permission
for example i cant it say i must gain root, i open superuser make the response always allow, but no clue, keep denying
everything...and what i saw also in system/app that all the apps permission is set to rwxrwxrwx and it is odexed rom
tried to update superuser...the same story never worked. tried to replace the su and busybox in system/xbin, and superuser.apk in system/app,
and su in system/bin with the latest versions....it didnt boot up lol the android is no longer detected.....and there is noway to go to recovery since it has not.....
so when there is root how i can edit or manage or gain root access ???
and by the way in terminal command
adb shell
root
i got this # so root is available
Lol....no one ?
