Okay, I'm not sure if you're the reseller. I am VERY interested on this one if there's any truth with this advertising.
May I ask one question:
It's indicated in the website that it's "unlocked". Is this just "Software Unlocked" where the phone's firmware and branding remains the same but is unlocked for you to be able to use any GSM sim card? Like a Sprint EVO 3D "Software Unlocked" for example. You can use any other sim but it carries the Sprint network name and the firmware is noticeably Sprint!
Or is it really "Factory Unlocked" like any other world wide version out there, came straight from HTC with HTC Stock firmware, no logos, no bull**** and stuff?
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks!

Yeah, you keep on saying that. We'll see pretty soon.

i like the launcher better on the GSM version, thats whats up though

GSM versions are always priced significantly higher than CDMA versions, even ones that aren't subsidized.
By the way, the EVO 3D is no longer on that website

Global EVO 3D version

I went to the HTC event in Vancouver this week and I noticed an employee was holding an HTC phone with a dual camera on the back. I asked her what it was, and I got a VERY BRIEF view of a global GSM version of the EVO 3D and saw the glasses-free 3D effect. There was no Sprint or other carrier logo on it, and there was a numeric tag on the phone, and she confirmed it's the global version. She told me she wasn't allowed to show me anything else.
But there we go. Exciting isn't it?
Man I wish Sprint got the global version :\ I'd love to pop one of my own SIM cards in there while I'm traveling.
~ Jake
did you get to hold it or anything?!
I highly doubt Sprint would allow a GSM version to be released in the US, atleast not right away. Probably will be on bands not compatible in the states.
Vodafone. They are getting the global version.

The gsm version is easy to spot. Go to HTC and look at the Evo 3D and notice on the phones back cover. The ring around the camera is gold, not the American red color.
From my soon to be Evo 3D

No its european

Yeah she gave me no indication as to whether a Canadian release was likely, but typically we see versions of European HTC phones arriving here a few months later on Telus or Bell. It usually alternates.
Bell just got the Incredible S and soon Wildfire S. Telus is rumored to get the Flyer. My guess is, Telus gets the Evo 3D if Canada gets it at all. Maybe rebranded as the Desire 3D, since they got the original Desire and the HD. Bell got the Desire Z and the HD7 though.
Or if Bell gets the E3D, then Telus will get an 850/1900 version of the Sensation as a consolation prize.
And I think it's pretty safe to say Rogers won't get any of the above. Their former relationship with HTC appears to be severely broken.

A little off topic, but how was the 3D effect? I'm really keen to see how it is in person but I'd like to know what other people think of it.
Here's to hoping the Evo 3D makes its way to Australia

The only glimpse I got was from the phone being held in camera mode, and the display was showing a 3D rendition of what it was filming. I definitely saw the 3D effect but I wasn't in the optimal viewing position. It still wowed me.

Everything you need to know about the gsm evo selling:

On this page there are 5 links, they all sell the evo 3d gsm version, just for the price, or with a contract, you can choose. But a contract won't be wise, as it's from Holland.
Probably one of them will ship worldwide, but you will have to find that out for yourself by trial and error!
GSM Coming to US This Week?!
Negri Electronics announced on Twitter that the GSM version (900/AWS/2100) may be in stock this week. I think they have it at $650 or something like that.
I think I'll wait for it.

Don't buy the "Google Edition" - here's why

For the life of me, I cannot understand why the Google version is the same as the AT&T Version - missing the 1700 band. This makes no sense.
I know, T-Mobile is "refarming" (we love that word) their network to use 1900 or whatever, but fact is, the 1700 band is a necessary thing for the distant future.
The T-Mobile version is the only Pentaband One available. Carrier unlock it for $10, then flash the AOSP build and you are good to go. If the rumors of HTC letting all One owners put AOSP on their One, this even sweetens the deal since you don't have to deal with unlocking bootloaders and flashing stuff. I'd assume if they announce an AOSP option for the One, there will be a straightforward way to flash safely for the average Joe.
Paying $599 for a non-Pentaband One is a silly idea. Get the true Pentaband version - the T-Mobile hardware. It's so strange that Google didn't opt to utilize the T-Mobile hardware for it's Play/One offering. Very strange, IMO.
Yeah pretty much most of us will just unlock the bootloader and flash the asop rom

The other, perhaps equally as good reason, is that the T-Mobile version only costs $579.99.

I just noticed the unlocked version is now $599.99 when it was originally $574.99.
I wish I had read this post before I bought my Google Play edition of the one.
I've spent a couple hours on the phone the other day with t-mobile support and Google support trying to figure out why my new one couldn't connect to anything better than the edge network. Neither of those companies new the right answer. It took me reading these forums before I figured out it was because the Google Play edition didn't have the right antennas inside. The next day I went to T Mobile and bought the T Mobile version and I am now in the process of returning the Google Play edition.

I almost sprung for the GEOne, but ultimately chose to go through T-Mobile so I could spread out the cost of the phone and it's 20 bucks cheaper.
Didn't even think to check the supported bands, glad I made the decision I did.
Though, I kind of wish the GEOne was pentaband and I would have bought it, because I like the idea of the Google Edition flagship phones... If the program doesn't sell many phones I'm not so sure Google will continue it.

Glad I helped others. In all actuality, the T-Mo One isn't "Pentaband" (missing 900 mHz I believe) but it has the necessary bands for the US. If you live in Europe, it may not have the correct bands, but I use ATT/TMo on mine just fine.
Sorry for a noob question.
I have the T-Mobile HTC One fully stock. Would love to go to the Google Edition ROM. Could someone point me to the direction of how I go about doing that?
Do I need to unlock the bootloader and root to flash the rom?
Thanks
Thank you for this thread. I've been reading for a few days now, and this was the final straw on me deciding where to purchase. See you guys in a few weeks.
The Cincinnati Bell version is also the same as the Tmobile version minus bloatware and branding.
This also goes for the Dev Edition.
I ended up selling my Dev Edition 64GB on Swappa for 520 and then bought a TMobile one off of Craigslist for 420.
On the Dev version my phone jumped from Edge to LTE and LTE being rare around here and on this TMobile one I get 4G because of the missing band.

I agree. This is terrible for consumers, and mystifying why Google would do it. It would be bad anyway, but many (perhaps most) people wouldn't even realize it from looking at Google's page about the phone. It blithely glosses over the issue with statements like "Freedom of choice....Unlocked means world travel is easy....Compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile in the US." I had looked at the page and didn't realize it had this limitation until I saw it mentioned elsewhere on the internet. I'd be pissed if I bought one of these and then found out it's handicapped like this.

just wondering but I was looking at the specs and the tmo version is missing the HSPA 900 MHz band so how would it be a pentaband phone? unless if im reading it wrong
This is absolutely true.
Why anybody would buy the Google edition is beyond me.
The T-Mobile HTC One is the best version with all the bands and you can FULLY CONVERT IT to be either a Developers edition or Google Edition.
I converted my T-Mobile HTC One to both Dev edition and Google Edition just to see if it was possible, and yes it is.

Probably mostly because they don't know better. I didn't when I started looking at the phone. The Google Play page certainly doesn't say anything in plain English about the issue, and implies that it is a good choice for T-Mobile. It's a huge WTF that they would sell an unlocked phone missing a major component of functionality on one of two major US GSM carriers, when there's a version of the phone that includes that component. You'd have to be pretty well informed about the technology to be able to recognize the problem from that page, and you'd have to scrutinize the relevant specs to notice it.
