[Q] help on uninstalling a CM 6.1.3 V054 related zip??? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
yesterday i installed wolfbreak's CM 6.1.3 V054 and really liked the look of it, then i installed a certain zip (not sure which one it was from the wolfbreak CM 6.1.3 V054 thread, but it changed the dialer to the arc style and got rid of the colour icons in the setup menu etc) and dont like the look of it, is there a way i can uninstall the zip or do i have to flash the whole rom again and start from scratch? i installed all of the extras zips on the wolfbreak CM 6.1.3 V054 thread page, so if someone could tell me the name of the zip that changed the look and feel then that would be great!
i would also like to know if there is a way to either change the clear background to white on the blue version of the market, or just revert to the normal green version? the blue version was also installed with a zip file in xrecovery.
thanks in advance,
woopypants

Well first of all if you don't know which zip file and where it is located, unfortunately you have to factory reset, wipe cache partion, wipe dalvik cache and battery status. Then install the Rom then the update and other zip files all from scratch but this won't take long.
Secondly if you don't like the blue market just flash new market and not the new blut transparent one.
Hope this helped

thanks for your reply, i the location of the zip file (its just on the sd card) and am pretty sure i know which zip file i want to 'unzip' so basically i just need to know if its possible to get rid of a certain file (as in unzip it, if there even is such a thing).
thanks for the tip on the market too

actually i realise know which file it must have been- "arc icon and ui.zip". just for future reference i would like to know if there is a way of unzipping a file, or should i just do a backup everytime before i uninstall a zip, so that if i dont like it then i have something to revert back to instead of having to reinstall the rom everytime.

By default, the dialer for wolf's rom has always been the arc dialer...so if you want to get rid of it, the best thing to do would be to flash over a theme like matted blues.

well you can install themes to cover them if you don't like them
eg. X HC theme by SEMPITERNAL

[Q] Theme compactable with Khalpower V4 GalaxyXT ROM

Since I saw some AMAZING themes but I was unable to install'em, I wanna ask if somebony is able to link some themes which are compactable with Khalpower's V4 GalaxtXT ROM, couse I tryed like 20-25 themes and from all only DarkFroyo V2 and 1 more works.
Thanks alot!
The Honeycomb-theme works fine on V4 (except that you need to replace the keyboard with some keyboard from the Market, but that's the only bug there is).

Kahl has this one posted somewhere in one of his threads. It replaces the stock LatinIME.apk & works fine. Just copy the zip to openrecovery/updates boot into Open Recovery, appy the update, wipe the dalvik-cache & cache partitions & reboot.

When i try to apply the galaxyxtv4 theme update, it does not work! i still have the red theme and i dont know what to do anymore. Isnt that how one apply a theme? am i missing something?
I believe others had issues with that update too. If you're running the PersonaRedv4 I think you can just restore the system partition from KP full GalaxyXTv4 (nandroid restore) & wipe the dalvik-cache & cache partition & reboot.
I was wondering... if I install propper theme which works woth this rom but replace apps from other theme (and apps are more - 6 in compactable theme and about 20 in that one that I will replace with), so will it work as it works with bootanimation, couse if I keep the working theme but put difetent bootanimation it still works.
I'd give a guarded yes. If the filenames of the apps you want to replace match EXACTLY (e.g. maps.apk is not the same as Maps.apk) then they will be overwritten. If they don't match your best bet is probably to remove the apps you want to replace before installing the new ones. You will be limited as to the size of the system partition so adding files as system apps could be problematic but replacing one modded app with another should generally be OK. Another thing to note is (I think) not all apps can be installed as system apps. Note that it is always a good idea to do a nandroid backup before you try making the changes so (when) things go wrong (and they will ) you can get back to a functioning device as painlessly as possible.
Hi guys.
I'm looking for a working Gingerbread Theme for the V4XT rom.
Could you please help me?
Thanx in advance.
I was wondering if this one coud work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9784619&postcount=13
I was previously used it on my original 2.1 Rom and it was absolutely perfect.
I have today tried to install many themes with the new khalpower v4.
Result was the follwing: I was able to get a decent outcome. Keyboard bug could be fixed but after a couple of theme flashes things started to get weired. First my gmail app stopped working.
After that I only got jibberish as fonts so that I was unable to change languages or anything else for that matter.
I'd very much appreciate ports for the new v4. Right now I'm using the fix described above. Thanks so much! Worked like a charm

broke down my mini

hi all,
i installed cyanogenmod 7 and this theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896943
then device booted it can not open my phone please help me what can i do ?
At the top of the screen it says:
~ [UPDATED!] Xtreme X10 Mini/Pro theme! ~
(And 2.1 [For Build 2.0.A.0.504 without zip file and 2.0.2.A.0.24 with the zip file])
The writing in blue is telling you which firmware the theme is compatible with. In order for you to have installed CM7 you would have build 2.1.1.A.0.6 loaded on your device. the theme you tried installing isn't compatible with you 2.1 firmware and neither is it with CM7.
To fix this, do a SEUS repair and reinstall CM7 and search the market for CM7 themes (search "CM7") and in future read the firmware requirements before installing anything. In the case of installing CM7 themes, if it doesn't say "CM7 theme" DON'T INSTALL!!!
Good luck

Thats it!!!!!!!!!. You will get a warning and you can say continue anyway. I tried almost 20 themes and all worked. And good thing about CM7 is, you will have all the themes installed and you can change any time you want by just selecting a theme and restarting. Not like CM6 wherein you need to flash the theme everytime. This is one of the thing I liked most about CM7.
Also if you want to change only the font, download fontchanger from market (free app), download any font you like (.ttf file) and copy under .fontchanger folder in sdcard, open fontchanger application, select the font and apply it. You need to restart your device (sometimes twice) and thats it!!!!!!!. It is working in my device atleast (I changed almost 15 to 20 times both the themes and font without any problem) and I am really enjoying this ROM. SO much flexibility.
^a little more explanation from raj_k_r on installing themes on CM7
ops to late...

What you must do is switch the phone off, hold in the back button and insert the USB when SEUS is searching for the phone. If its still looping, insert the USB, hold down the power, home (the middle button) and back button together until the phone resets (it with vibrate) then ONLY RELEASE THE POWER AND HOME BUTTON and KEEP the back button pressed until SEUS tells you to release it the it should work.
thanks christophermaisch i tried it and flashing with seus manager thanks again

[Q] Instaling addons - Wolf Experia TW

Please, I need help.
I'm using the Wolf Rom, and everything is going fine, but I want to install the Wallpapers and the keyboard files, I can install the widget file in exrec. but the other two dont work.
Please, how can I install these two files?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16580350&postcount=6114
What version are you on?
Is the problem in xrec (can't install them) or that you can't start the apps?
I'm using the 3.5 version with 3.8.0 update.
I have the widgets extras instaled, and working, via xrec and I tried to install keyboard and wallpapers, the same way, but when I´m going to change the wallpapers, for example, they dont appear. The same thing occurs with the keyboard addon.
In xrec, apparently, they have been installed.
Are you installing from a xrec backup?
OMG, I don't know the diference. The exrec is the version from flashtool 2.8. The files are those from Wolf's Rom thread.
Is this you want to know???

[Q] CyanogenMod - Can I Add Things to the Zip?

Hello!
So I am about to install the CyanogenMod. I've downloaded the zip file and being nosy, had a look at it. A question:
Can I add things to the zip to install like apps and mainly ringtones and such? If so, do I just add these to the zip?
Can I take some of the ringtones away from the zip and it'll install okay?
Can I delete them once installed?
Thanks
Yes you can add things to the zip as long as they are compatible with the ROM (i.e. no HTC Sense stuff in an AOSP ROM) and make sure you put them in the correct place (ringtones with the native ringtones). To do this you must unzip the file first, then zip it back up before installing it. I do this quite a bit when I am using an AOSP ROM without the theme chooser app. Oh yea, I use the program 7-zip to do this.
An ASOP rom?
I thought a ROM was a ROM?
I was planning to install a couple of the HTC apps like the calendar (possible) and news/clock/weather/peep (possible), although I wouldn't say these are part of "sense"?
I see though, Sense widgets won't work on anything but sense.
That's a shame :/ Hmm.

no you can add apps from sense or whatever i believe as long as they are just apps. Also i believe you have to sign the zip as well :/
Rom Kitchen works well for that. But you have to have Mac or Linux.
Cyanogen is what is called an AOSP ROM (android open source project). HTC Sense is basically an overlay on top of the operating system. These overlays include the calendar, clock, weather and other widgets. These widgets cannot be used in an AOSP based ROM. And no, you don't have to sign the zip. Just unzip it, modify it, zip it back up and flash away.

[Q] removing a zip file i flashed to a partition??

so i have flashed cyanogenmod 10.1.3 and the corresponding gapps. when finding the perfect theme i wanted on my phone, i found that i needed to flash a particular zip file to make the theme work. now everytime i try to open the theme chooser it force closes the settings. is there a step i forgot? this is the second time i have done this and each time it takes about an hour for all my apps to download and update and i really dont wana have to do this again.
is there a way to just remove the contradicting zip file that seems to be hindering my theme chooser?
the last time i had cm10.1.3 on my phone with only gapps flashed, theme chooser worked without falter. im 99% positive i just need to remove the added zip file. any help would be greatly appreciated.
oh and i have tried wiping cache/delvik.
