Yes, and yes!
I also think the power key should have been where the vol keys are.
Oh well, nothing we can do about it.

Just want the charger port on the other side so it doesn't interfere when charging and using the kick stand. That was just stupid dumb HTC.

They did so people could use a dock and watch videos at the same time.... Which you can rotate so it doesn't make any sense. So yes, stupid htc.

I kinda like the vol keys on the other side. On the DINC I would hit them all the time and had to use an app volume locker.
I don't hit them any more.

They're on the same side as on my Droid. Feels right to me.
And the charging port should have been on the bottom if you were going to use the kickstand while charging. I wouldn't want it sticking out the top either.

[Q] Problem using TV-Out Function on Vibrant

Hey everyone, I've been having trouble connecting my Samsung Vibrant to my standard definition television, the cable I bought off Amazon was the Amzer 3.5 mm to rca video out cable, and no matter what I do, it doesn't seem to work. I've posted a quick video on youtube explaining my problem, and thanks for any help in advance:
-bobofosho123

GJ on making a vid though

+1 on that,
The cable could just be wired wrong, try changing the one you use for video, leave the audio unplugged until/if you get a picture ....

Like I said, I've tried ALL OF THE combinations already, but I'll leave the audio unplugged and try that.

no dice, i'll probably end up getting a refund on the cable and buying the one directly from samsung's website, even if it is over-priced.
go to radio shack and buy the same cable and try it
I watched this video and see the issue.
You are not pressing the 3.5mm end of the cable.into your vibrant with enough force. You would be unable to do it with one hand.
Press it firmly in, until it clicks. you will need to press with force.
I suppose i can record a video if you feel you are pressing it im.hard enough.

[Q] Has Anyone Been Able to Use Earbuds/Headphones With 3.5mm?

I tried using my earbuds last night. The plug doesn't go in tight (it literally wiggles in the jack) and in no position that I held them, did they work.

mine works without any problems, try another set of headphones, if problem still persist. Contact AT&T to get an exchange.

Hi,
I just purchased this phone about 4 hours ago, I just now plugged in the headphones and mine too was not going in all the way and wiggled, I pushed a little harder than normal and it clicked as if it locked into place and works just fine now.
Good luck

Mine was defective. I took it back to the store where the rep tried it out. He couldn't get it to work either, but neither of us had a prob with the new one.
Wiggling??
Hell, I have to use my upper body strength to pull the headphone plug out of the jack.

Yea I pulled them out and it was a little tougher than I would ever imagine, good thing i don't use them much.
They definitely could have designed the jack better. Shame to have to use brute force to get the headphones in. Thought I was gonna break the interior of it.
yeah, i've been noticing how tight all the ports are (or both ports... whatever). I have to force my charger in so hard and pull it out so hard I'm scared that beautiful glass will crack.... Same on the headphone jack. That, and the millimeters of raised glass above the front bezel, are the only two things about the design i'm not thrilled about.
And here I thought it was just me... I had to force my earbuds in... It scared me, I love my earbuds and I didn't want to hurt them... I feel I have to be careful how I pull them out so that I don't pull the cord right off the end of the jack.

Yeah - using mine were a pain at first also, but with time it "loosened up" I assume. Now I have no problems.

[SOLVED][Q][JB] How to force Xperia P to use Apple Earphones

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to know what app controls headset detection in the Jellybean versions of Xperia P firmware because I've noticed that the new update doesn't let you use other CTIA headsets (like the Apple ones) even though they use the same standard.
In the ICS firmware, you can plug in Apple earphones, a pop up comes up notifying you that the mic and buttons won't work but you get normal output to the earphones. The only thing is that the buttons and microphone don't work, and this is fine for listening to music.
In the JB firmware, you plug in Apple earphones and the same pop up comes up but this time the audio output is still played through the speakers rather than the earphones.
I wanted help on how to force JB to play audio though earphones that we know work with the Xperia P.

I remember reading something ages ago about holding something down while plugging in. Like volume up or down. Just really can't remember now :-S

Just to clarify, are you holding the volume button on the headset or the phone? because you're supposed to hold the headset volume button to make it detect. Tried on stock, it works too

Which kind of Apple earphones are you using? (replacement types, original stock iPod, original stock iPhone etc?)

yes xperia p. ever since i updated to the new firmware it's been like that. there's no problem with it with the initial jelly bean update.
i use apple earpods, replacement ones.

May be an issue with the newest JB then. Will test once a custom version is out for my ROM and report.
I tried my friends original iPhone 5 earpods and they worked with my phone.
In the meanwhile, you could force the earphones to work with your phone by connecting the earphones to a stereo 3.5mm splitter jack and connecting the splitter to the phone.
The phone will detect them since there's no third channel for the mic/buttons. You can easily find them at any large electronics store and I'd suggest you get one with a thin enough connector if your phone is in a protective case.
I plugged the jack in holding the call button. Worked on my P.
But I have to do that all the time I plug the headphone in.
Volume down
I had the same problem with me Beats Solo HD
Holding down the volume down button of the cable helped
I'm Using XGo
I think it'll work for any other device
if volume down doesn't work just plug in the headphones while holding down any other button

[Q]Headphones problem

Guys I have a problem with hardware all'S3
Yesterday trying to insert the headphones into the jack these are not crawled well, in the sense that a fraction (2mm) was left out
I'm used to with the ipod mp4 players, and various that the jack comes around and sometimes also makes a click
Sull's3 does not happen.
Nevertheless I do not worry about this because the phone detects the headset
The problem is that when I launch any application in multimedia audio headset does not feel, I also tried with the microphone but zero.
I then pushed further into the jack, and you see who made contact, well, now the music part.
Only if I do not feel pressure anymore.
Have you also seen this problem?
The first few days with the S3 did not seem to have had these problems ...

My S3 clicks. I guess if it's not clicking, the clip inside the jack is bent out of place.

Power Button Broken - One Side Can Stick Out

Have anyone had the same problem? is replacing the power button a solution? or if it's the front case problem? Thx
all my buttons broke (volume and power button) I bought new ones and fixed them, they are very fragile buttons, horrible on the part of the motorola have put these buttons in the MOTO G4, but anyway, the repair was even simple in my opinion
did you have to open the unit like youtube video or just pull out the old one and insert the new ones? thx
