where i can buy a case and keyboard? Thanks! - G Tablet Accessories

Hey~ I just brought a gtablet from woot last week~ it is cool~
1. now I want to buy a case for it? so which case most of you are using now? and where I can buy it?
2. I want to buy a keyboard too...and now I am using the rom TNT Lite 4.4.0~ so which keyboard can be supported by this rom (including the usb keyboard and Bluetooth keyboard)? and where I can buy it?
thank you very much!!!

You can read up on this thread for info about several custom cases for our gTabs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013799
And then go to Steve's web store at http://www.electroniccrap.com and see if he has them in stock to order. I would suggest you get on his mailing list there so you will know when he's got new stock coming in.
As for keyboards, there are several that work. About any usb keyboard will work but certain bluetooth keyboards require extra software sometimes to connect.
Take a moment and use the SEARCH feature of this accessories section and you will find all the information you are wanting for this.
At the moment I am using the CLIP case and love it.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015853
I also did a video review of it.

hey ~ thanks! where you brought it? from ebay?http://cgi.ebay.com/10inch-Case-USB-keyboard-Viewsonic-Gtablet-10-/320670632482?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa9758a22#ht_4875wt_905
???

another question, whether this case can grasp gtablet tightly??? I means that is it easy to slide out of the case?

Do not buy the case in your eBay link. I've had one before and it is a piece of junk. While does work, it looks and feels really cheap and doesn't hold the gTab securely at all and let's it slide around a lot.

If you're asking about the CLIP case I mentioned in my earlier post then the answer is yes. It holds the gTab very securely.
If you're asking about the usb keyboard case in your first post then no. It lets the gTab slide around a lot.

Well, the holding pieces are made of metal. So, you can bend it until it fits your gtab. You don't want it too tight either or you can't take it out. You need to find your happy medium.
You know why it feels really cheap? Because it is really cheap. For some of us, it works just fine. I go back and forth between a lab and my home. I don't need something that looks like a $300 case to impress anyone.
But again, if it doesn't fit your gtab, all you need to do is bend the metal pieces until it fits. Be creative, man. Isn't that the spirit of modding?

If you get lucky and receive the one that has the left tab moved down so it doesn't block the usb port then sure you can bend the metal to make it hold a little bit better but not much better. Most of the people that have ordered this case from eBay or another site get the one that you have to remove the left tab to access the usb port so there's nothing there to tighten up.
I don't need a $300 case either. I'm pretty happy with a $45 case I got from it2steve's web store.

Amazon was selling them (gtab case with keyboard) but ran out. I spent way to much time, but found the Manufacturer in Chine. They have fixed the tab possitions. Now the left tab is about the center of the gtab, and the other one is on top. They sell for $24.95 with free shipping. Note that it may take up to 30 days go get it:
http //witglobal com/goods-2286-10inch+Case+with+integrated+USB+keyboard+for+Viewsonic+Gtablet+10+-+Free+Shipping.html
Sorry, you will have to add a : and a . to the above url to make it work (I can't post links yet).
If you poke around on their site, you will find that they are still selling the ones that have the left tab up high for $14. I figured I could easily move the tab (I've see several posts about doing this), so I was going to order two of the $14 ones until I found that the shipping was not free. So I ended up ordered the one with the corrected tabs. Will see how long it takes to arrive.

Some of them were made for another tablet, so I'll give you that point about the tab not being in the right place. But your original criticism was about the gtab not fitting nice and tight in the case. My post was a response to that point and that point alone. The tabs are made of metal, so instead of throwing your hands up in the air and cry out "o lord o lord why hast thou abandoned me!?" you could have been a little creative and bend the metal tabs to your liking. Again, being creative is exactly what the modding community is about. 5 seconds to bend the metal tabs too long and hard work for you?

Google image something like "android eating apple blood".

thank you! I saw the website which you sent~ and it seem that there are still some problem with the right one(24.99$)~----there is still no tabs in the right edge of the case~ so the gtablet maybe slide out from the right side~~~

My Review of: BookGem stand/Kindle DX case

Posting another review... This time of a BookGem for those still searching for a stable stand for our G/Tablets.
Its very stable and portable (IMHO).
Check the review and let me know what you think of it, or if you also have the bookgem stand.

Thanks S2W for the review. I have a question for you. I also have the bookgem but don't know if mine is defective. When opened the gem sits on the front spring rather then the the two front feet. It seems like there should be a rubber pad on these (to stop it from sliding and holding the gem above the spring hub). Does yours sit this way?

Your welcome... The spring hub is aligned with the 2 front feet of my stand. I did notice that when I closed the rear legs, the spring hub is no longer aligned. Standing the bookgem this way will give you a bit of that teeter-totter action since its meant to stand on an angle. But don't care for it as much in this position since it becomes no longer use as a stand but closed to put away.
Overall, I like the stand. Hopefully you're within your timescale and can return it back if defective. IMO, Its kind of useless to me, if you dont have the front feet stabled and aligned because of the spring hub dropping lower.
We have to trust that our Gtabs are secured. So if your unsure I would return it.
Glad you you caught the video.
Book Gem
I've had my book gem over the weekend and had to make one mod.
just above the book gem sticker there were are two pyramid looking stubs.
I took an excacto knife (a box cutter knife should work as well) to reduce the stubs and filed the remain flat.
Other then that I love my Gtab Gem. With the legs in, it's easier to hold with one hand, imo.

Black leather case delivered
Thank you for your excellent YouTube review. I'm now enjoying the leather case that arrived today. An excellent fit, no problems with port access or power/volume buttons. Definitely adds class to the G-Tab experience. I highly recommend it!
Stand and Case Together
Great videos!
I really like both the case and the stand, but would like to use them together. Is it possible to use the gtab with the stand while it is still in the case? Maybe you could do another video review of both together
Anyone know of a Kindle DX case that folds over into a stand in landscape mode? The only ones I have seen the stand is in portrait mode.
Thanks!
I must thank you. I was going back and forth between getting the Kindle DX case and the Zec case. I was on the fence about the Kindle case, but your video review totally solidified my decision. Got mine in today, and I couldn't be happier.
Thanks, man!
Saw your review of the Kindle case on YouTube. It was instrumental in my decision to order it for every day use. Thank you for taking the time to put it up there.
I had ordered and received one of those cases with the built-in usb keyboard before I made this decision as the keyboard is not silicone and will damage my screen if I decided to use it every day. The other case also didn't really keep my tablet secure at all and I felt it would slip out of it at any given moment.
I stopped carrying my powerhouse laptop with me when I travel on business (with the power adapter it weighs about 20 lbs). Now I just carry my G Tablet and use LogMeIn Ignition for Android to remote in to my laptop I keep at my office. I kept the other case so I can use it when I travel on business and need to type a lot. But I am really looking forward to receiving this Kindle DX cover so I can use it every day.

In the video, it looks like the wings come in contact with the touchscreen itself when placed in portrait. In light of how strong those springs look, I wouldn't want them in contact with the touchscreen at all. Perhaps this case is more for landscape only?

After reading this post I tried to place the gtab on portrait and carefully examine what you stated above... with mines it doesnt touch the screen, I will say that the paddings are close by the border of the touch screen but does not effect it. I can only speak for myself on this.
Hope that helps.

I'm with the gentleman above. I would love to purchase this one but can it adequately be used as a landscape stand? That's really the make or break decision for me. I currently use the cheap carrying case from Sears to hold it so I may opt for the Bookgem or another case.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered one yesterday. They haven't shipped it out yet so I could cancel but I think for $20, I'll take the risk. They do have great return policies.
I know the one with the keyboard is comparable priced but after putting aaron's back cover on mine, I don't really want to stick velcro on the back of it to keep it in place.
I guess I just should have opted for the Book gem and continued to use the Sears carrying case.

I was just coming on to post this because it seems as if this company is selling a different case now. My case doesn't have the same sheen on the outside, nor do I have the larger pockets on the inside like the one in the video. Never the less, it seems to hold the tablet the same, so I'm fine with it. Best option I've seen for the price I paid. ( $18.50 with free shipping.) I should add that I'm fine with the smaller inside pockets, as they don't push on the screen like the one in the video, but I do wish I had the outer cover as it does look like a better quality than the case I have.

just found this in amazon! Case and USB Keyboard

hello guys! As I go through my research on getting a case that is just meant for my g-tab, finally after a long browsing and searching, it is already available in Amazon! (mostly good for U.S. consumers)
Attached are the pics which I uploaded for you guys to see. Also, it looks like it just came out so there's no reviews yet or maybe I'll be the first one who will write the review!
Will give this a try in Amazon.

Funny they are apparently relocating the tab just like everyone has been doing here. So you pay $10 extra to get someone to mess up with your brand new case with an exacto knife and hot glue
Hope they pre-modded some in advance and you guy don't need to wait for them to get it all the way from china do the mod and then pass it your way.
thats true...at least if I'm not satisfied I can return it easily to Amazon.
I also got the skinomi skin protector so if this case will scratch my screen,I'll be able to tell. I also hope it will hold the tablet well enough.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I thought about ordering one from ebay, but Amazon is so much easier to deal with, and Florida is soooo much closer than China!

Wenger case
Bought a protective soft carrying case at Best Buy that fits perfectly - it's a Wenger (has the red cross logo). Just took my G Tab in and experimented till I found the right fit. http://www.wengerna.com/search/results.php
Great for travel, but sounds like the Amazon deal may be better.
Purchased the one on Amazon. Ordered Friday and received Monday. Works as advertised. Tab moved from blocking USB. Patch looks great and well done. USB cable more than long enough. This is a WINNER!!!

This case holds the G-tab well. It has the magnetic snap so it won't fall on you. Got mine today, Im satisified with it. Keyboard works too.
here's a quick review i wrote up for androidforums.
-nice material, well made
-keyboard works flawlessly with VEGAn (i didn't even get a prompt, just plug and play)
-keyboard functions will run android commands (i.e. windows button = android menu button)
-stand holds it at a great angle for viewing (this is a must, especially with our screens)
-does not cover any accessory ports (micro/mini USB, headphones, charger) or buttons (power, volume, etc.)
-DOES cover part of left side speaker and all of right side speaker (although you can still hear them)
-no plastic bracket to hold top of tablet (uses the magnetic closing strap to keep it in while upside down which concerns me slightly, although the magnet is fairly strong)
-included stylus does not work (duh)
all in all, i would certainly recommend this case. i am pretty sure that the only comparable ones out for the g-tab right now are $10-15 more than i paid through amazon, do not include a keyboard, and ship from China.
i have much better pics than the ones on Amazon, but i can't post them yet. [email protected] newbie mode!

Received it today! (17th of January to the 2nd) Looks good, keyboard works, modified for the Gtablet (http://witglobal.com/goods-2286-10i...for+Viewsonic+Gtablet+10+-+Free+Shipping.html) so the tablet slides into case from right to left. The left support covers the mini-USB but the USB port is available. Keypad works fine. Case sits a little too upright but I can deal. For $25 delivered it works pretty well. i also received my suction cup holder (http://witglobal.com/goods-2005-Car...nic+Gtablet+10+Car+holder+-Free+Shipping.html) and it is a little less impressive. Currently suctioned to my desk. The arms cradle the unit securely but stick out about 1 inch beyond the face. I will probably put a little velcro to secure it a little better. Not overly happy about the fit but for $20 I might be able to modify it to work. It does swivel nicely which helps for viewing angles.
These along with the dock I received, I think I have all the accessories with the exception of an HDMI cable.

Is there an apple ipad style case for the G Tab

I ordered my G Tab from Woot as many others did. I really like the thin iPad 1 case and have been searching for one for the GTab but haven't been able to find one. I'm not really looking for a big leather case. I'm looking for something similar to this forum post on the Galaxy site: ht tp:// forum.xda-developers.com/ showthread.php?t=893697 (sorry I can't post links)
The Galaxy case that is sold at hand held items (link to hand held in the above spaced out link) looks very similar to the iPad one too but is better because it's not an "i" product.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to see those custom cases but your link does not work. It looks like this: you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons. Is there something top secret about a case. Tried link for case at link for electronic crap. Same message. WTF
The same thing happens to me . . . permissions error
Seems like I need a couple more posts to access it, thx

Steve's cases look much better than the Case Crown cases. I got one of the CC cases and it stopped "fitting" after a few weeks. Opening and folding the front back behind the tablet caused the bands to stop gripping the tablet and I just stopped using it overall.
I'd highly recommend looking at Steve's store: http://electroniccrap.com/store/ind...cription=1&keyword=viewsonic+g+tablet&x=0&y=0
I'd have gotten one of his, but he was out of stock so I ordered one of the cases with the keyboard built in (came out to be $35). I have to go pick it up at the post office, as it was delivered via registered mail and has to be signed for.
It's a great case but still not as good as a custom case

Thank you. I read that thread and a bunch of other ones on here too...I have seen many different options on here, but not many in the stores. I will look into the CLIP case further. What do people think about the CaseCrown case on Amazon for the G Tab?

I was one of the early adopters of the CaseCrown case for the Kindle DX for my gTab. It looks pretty classy even though it's not real leather. Good quality construction. Some people were reporting that the elastic tabs at the top were getting lose with time but I've used mine for over three months and didn't notice that on mine. I have to say thought I didn't leave my gTab in the CaseCrown case when I was using it but only really had it in the case for transporting it from home to the office or some other away from home locale. The one thing I will report that is a slight negative about the CaseCrown is that after three months of use I did notice the side of the case that is up against the back of the gTab was getting slightly bent and the felt lining was beginning to bubble up a bit. Even with that slight issue this case I would highly recommend it. If you can part with the cash I would strongly direct you into the direction of one of the custom cases as those are more tailored for out gTabs.
I hope you enjoy your gTab as much as I do mine. I've basically replaced the need to lug around my really heavy beast of a work laptop and now do my off site work from my gTab accessing my laptop remotely via LogMeIn Ignition.
Since I've purchased my CLIP from it2steve I have put away my CaseCrown case. I have no use for it now so if you're interested I'll be happy to unload it on you for next to nothing. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I hope for your sake you didn't get the one that I had before I unloaded it on eBay. It does work but that's where the positive ended for me with that case. The case really looked CHEAP and I was embarrased to take it out in front of other people at work or at a client's site. Also, the keys are hard plastic (not silicone) so I was afraid it would rub against the gTab's screen and do damage since the case also didn't hold the gTab snug but rather let it slide around in there.
This case may be good for students but really is not suitable for a professional environment. It will definitely give the Apple fans something else to snicker at if you work around them.

I'd like to see those custom cases but your link does not work. It looks like this: you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons. Is there something top secret about a case. Tried link for case at link for electronic crap. Same message. WTF

Regardless of how many posts you have on xda you should have no problems accessing Steve's store. Try it again, maybe you had another problem when you tried last?
Here it is again: it2steve's web store.

Hey sjmoreno, this link does work, but the link they were referring to was this link in your first post that leads to another thread in xda:

Now for the good news, there are 7 custom cases in this thread.
I got a CLIP case from fellow xda member it2steve and I will say it is the first Apple quality case I've seen for our gTabs.

I also can't access that link. It may have something to do with the number of posts that we have or something. But that is just my guess. But the link to the actual store works great. So thanks for that!

Just picked it up from the Post Office today, works great but they sent me one with the wrong clip locations, even though I specified Viewsonic Get Tablet as they instructed.
I am going to fix it on my own as others have done because it took 3 weeks to get it.
Overall I'm very happy with it for the price of $35 total.

G Tablet case with USB Keyboard

Greetings all,
I saw this auction, and am honestly surprised I haven't seen anyone bring it up here. I'm honestly curious about it (specifically, how tight it fits), so I'm wondering if anyone is willing to bite? I already bought a different case through the same seller, so I'm strapped to purchase another one, but if someone picks this up and reviews it, I wouldn't mind selling my current one for this bad boy.
Anyone??
When I bought my G-Tablet it came with this case/keyboard combo. Here are some quick thoughts on it:
-its a great combo and does exactly what it needs to do
-build quality of the case is pretty good, materials feel a tad cheap
-stand on the back is VERY useful, held to the case with a magnetic enclosure
-tabs that hold the tablet in place are metal, tablet is held loosely in place on 3 of the four sides, it IS possible that it could slide out if you carry it wrong
-hidden magnet in the "spine" holds the USB plug in place
-keyboard keys are a little small, some keys are tightly crammed into the bottom right hand corner (. , / and shift plus direction arrows)
If anyone has any specific questions, just send me a PM.
Notice the tablet they are showing is not the Gtablet
You can buy these on Amazon for about the same price, if you don't want to mess with an auction.
I ordered one and it was shipped really quickly. It is about worth what you pay for it. It feels a little cheap, but the keyboard seems well-made and sturdy. The keyboard works perfectly fine (Vegan) and it is pretty easy to get it hooked up. The only potential problem I see with it is that there is nothing other than the clasp at the top to hold it in. I certainly wouldn't turn it upside down.

I mean granted. But they had the other G Tablet case that doesn't have the G Tablet shown in pics, and one of the XDA board members showed it off, and it's a nice, snug fit.
i purchased this case directly from the sellers website. i used it often. it is china-based, so i did wait about 30 days for delivery.
i am completely satisfied with it given the price.
Do not buy
This case looks and feels really cheap. It is made from shiny plastic. You will have to remove the metal tab that is on the left side of this case to access the USB port. It doesn't hold the gTab secure at all, it will slip around a lot. The keyboard is plastic and not silicone so it will constantly rub against the screen.
There's already a thread here that people have been discussing this case for months and it is a piece of junk.
Ordered and returned two of these
Each case with keyboard I ordered was defined as specifically made for the Gtab, but in order to use the usb port, I had to bend the left tab out of the way. Each vendor did issue a refund.
I thought the case was ok, and the keyboard worked fine. But having to adjust the tab was unacceptable.
I' m patiently waiting for the bluetooth keyboard and case to arrive at electroniccrap.com.

i got it . keyboard works very well . But tablet doesn't fit tight and you need an other cable to connect from keyboard's cable to g-tablet's usb ^^ it's not really good
Here is a video review of this case made by moi.
Before you roll on the floor laughing at my Asian accent, damn it I'm trying the best I can.
Ok, here it is.
I recieved mine from Amazon a few days ago. Tablet didn't fit in it at all until I bent the Tabs in to hold it better. And you still have to be careful that it doesn't fall out the end. Turns out I don't think I'll use it that much at all anyway, since I mostly use my tablet on the job site. Unless you REALLY need a keyboard, you're better off spending a couple of bucks and download thumb keyboard.

Bluetooth keyboard support is "iffy", at best. Good luck though.
I have one that I got a few days ago from Amazon.
I am not having any problem with it fitting correctly, so it may be that they are just not very consistent.
You do have to be careful about it sliding out the one side when carrying it around and the one clasp does cover the small USB in port for connecting to a computer.
In my case the USB cable had no problem reaching.
The kick stand is a nice feature.
All in all am find it useful but it does have some short coming, so it would not be for everyone, and there are probably better ones out there, though for the price and am happy with this unit so far.
Case/keyboard on Amazon
Newbie here. Got my gtab a week ago and have been looking at this case/keyboard combo. Am I crazy? I thought these were $30-$35 a few days ago. Now $127.50?????
[I tried to post the link ..... but newbies can't.]
THAT ...... is no bargain.
And a big thank you to all who post the good info here!
I just received mine from an Amazon seller...they said it was the Gtab model...
It doesn't work. I plugged it in...can't figure out how to get it to work.
Anybody have any ideas?
I'm running Corwin's GB CM7 RC4 rom

Did you plug it in before booting up the tablet? It seems to not work sometimes if you plug it in after the tablet is already booted up.
Just got this case. nothing but praise:

That worked...I now have a G-TableTop
I got one of these but it was the one marked for Apad/Epad/Gtab so needless to say it doesnt fit exactly but it wasnt a big deal. I am not having to many problems with the case in any way infact my stylus clips on the band quite nicely. I have noticed that the caps lock doesnt seem to work but thats another issue for another day.
Anybody find another case?
Been checking this thread and I am wondering if anyone has found a good keyboard/case? I would appreciate a link if you have found one. Thanks.

[Q] Medium Trifold Bible Organizer to hold NST plus a few items?

I have been looking for a compact all in one every day carry that would contain the Nook Simple Touch, a notepad, and space for a small book. Plus a few misc like a multitool, hearing aid batteries, pens, ID, and cash. The closest thing I have found is this, http://amzn.com/B007MD4KUY
I'm just wondering if anybody here have anything like this and how it have worked out for them? It seems like the best option is to slide the NST into the slot where the notepad back slides in. I could use a safety pin or two to secure one side of that slot.
Thanks

Found a lifeway christian store nearby. Might swing by to check it out when I visit my dad. Don't have the money to buy it this month but if I find this tri fold bible organizer or something similar there, I may consider getting it next month. If lifeway don't have it, then I'll just order the one from the amazon that I linked to. I was just hoping to see if anybody here had any similar idea and have already tried this out.
I'll let you know and try to share pics
Lost my NST a few days ago. Waiting to see if it turns up at some of the family's places since I was busy helping them move furniture. I also inherited a nice leather bag for pretty much everything I need and it have an absolutely perfect compartment that fit the Nook exactly. So I now have no reason to justify the trifold organizer purchase. Sorry about that. If I get my NST back and do happen to swing by the lifeway store, I'll at least try it out and see if I can grab my wife's phone to snap pics of the setup to give an idea of how it fits. But it might be a little while before I can do that assuming I get my NST back. Sorry. Just wanted to let you know so you won't have to wait for my response anymore.
