Arc Software needs certain things that non-lg roms don't have. Therefore you can't install it.

Same, I can get it to sorta work... it just won't do anything (how is that working??) -- lol, it loads up to the Music / Video screen and then refuses to continue.

The ArcSoft package contains the ArcSoft folder from /system/3rd_party and some libs in /system/lib (like libarc???.so). No luck for me too, maybe some more files missing. If anyone could do, I would be really thankful to him

I think there's something in the framework of stock roms it relies on, I can get it to install and load (after some nasty hacks), but it seems unable to actually function (Log just spits out "Application already in focus ignoring..." )
... But don't think I've given up, this is one of the few items on my "wish list" for SwiftDroid

Can you elaborate a bit further? -- It was easy enough to "hack" the apk to allow it to install, and it loads up... just kinda doesn't actually do it's thing. (log is no help here sadly)

It'll have stuff deeply encoded into random libs or something. You know what LG are like. It's like porting the FM radio
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App

I got it try getting the Lib file and the APK
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium

I think the .so files in the lib folder lets you install some apps and games depending on the Install Codes in the .so files, apps and the Games
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium

The arc files are in random Locations and i think you need to get the LG GT540's Package Installer from /system/app/package installer.apk the permissions for the apk are
Owner R/W
Group R
Others R
I hope this helps ;D

It might be that the apk file is corrupted or it is not really an apk file. I have instances where android told me that content is not supported while downloading an apk file as it is in the .bin file format. All I did is just to download and change the fipe type to apk to make it work.

I've had nothing but trouble transferring apk's through any browser on android, bluetooth, or even link in a text message.
But rename the extension to '.jpg' or some other regularly sent extension and it works almost everytime.
Frustrating work around, but a work around none-the-less.

True... but one thing nobody told you, was...
Go to Astro (file Manager), and go to it's preferences (menu > More), there is an option to Enable Browser Downloads.
THIS is what most places recommend, including the latest SwiftKey Beta.
or google download crutch, it will let you download anything on your phone. least it used to on my g1. never had a problem d/l'ing anything on my vibrant.

SPB Mobile Shell 5.0 Android

Hi all
Has anybody got this on their gt540 yet?
Ive been reading about spb shell for a while now but there still doesn't seem to be a release date set as its still in beta.
In the vid it says it doesn't work on all phone but has been tested on the samsung vibrant - check it out here
p.s I cant post links but heres the title for the youtube vid search
SPB Mobile Shell 5.0 for Android Beta Download
So far im having compatability problems, running on 2.3.3 rom but in another vid a guy has it running pretty smooth on the gt540.
Hi, yeah i tried to test it too when i had Froyo 2.2.1 running but with no luck , i just reveiced a pop up message saying that my phone is not compatible ... but i will try to test it again on CM7 v1.5 2.3.3, i will let you know how it goes.

Yes has sence , this phone is not that powerfull for support this launcher
i dont think it to do with how powerfull it is i think the developers have made for a few handsets from low spec to high spec ones to get an idea of what needs done to support all handsets.

I finally got this running after alot of playing and boy does it eat battery,
Only problem now is I still have to reactivate it again after opening certain apps like the browser.
By the time that they fully release this many other launchers would have caught up and the device not supported message would be cracked for most phones so they wont get the asking price they deserve lol

What i did was choose it as the default launcher then rebooted and reactived it again,
I cant upload the apk's as there just over 8mb but you can google for them, theres 2 versions i found (full version) and (cracked version)
The "device not supported" message will always appear so just click ok
maybe someone with more knoledge than me can tweek it to work better but for me but if you dont mind having to reactive it again after you use a system app like the browser it fine
hey its now available on the market, the full finished version not the beta

Like I mentioned in my post(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975239) a few weeks back, the home seems to load in background. It might just be a compatibility check that is preventing installation.
Anybody wants to shell the 15$ and give it a ride before others buy?

How did you try to install it? Did you just "run" the apk from the sdcard?
That won't work. Because of the odex file.
You could de-odex the app and try to install it again.
More infos about de-odexing here: http://code.google.com/p/smali/wiki/DeodexInstructions

[TUTORIAL]How to open flash sites on LG GT540 (ARMv 6)

Hello everybody!
I've found a way to open flash sites, and even flash games!
You can do that by using Puffin Web Browser, but still there's one problem... You can't adjust the zoom level because there are no zoom buttons and our phone doesn't support multi-touch, so you may sometimes experience problems fitting the flash element in the screen... Otherwise it is great!!!!
The browser also supports tab browsing and is a hell lot faster even than the Opera Mini and Opera Mobile! It is definetly worth trying it!
P.S. The old version no longer works. We'll have to wait untill the new one is cracked...
Tried it on o1 and it is the best app for flash contents. Video a little bit laggy but still better than with any other browser
Thanks

Zoom
You can zoom in, sort of, just double-tap on a non-flash zone. It zooms in or out slightly
BTW, THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP! THIS IS GREAT! Now we can all watch flash and play flash games. I'm looking for a way to speed it up.
it works on Android 2.1??
Well, I think it should work but I'm not a 100% sure... You can try it and tell us the results.
Well I try to install but I says problem analyzing the package, so it don't install

MOD EDIT: Please do not distribute warez
Extract and put the files in /sdcard/TitaniumBackup & restore it using TB.
Hmmm, strange... I can't see it in Titanium Backup... The files are extracted on the same directory as mentioned...
Does this help?
Unfortunely, no.
I suppose the app should be cracked to work... Arrrrrrr
Try this....... v1.6.2862
MOD EDIT: Please do not distribute warez
The newest version in market includes zoom buttons for non multi touch devices, but i can't find it cracked anywhere...
ughh...
The moderater has mentioned several times, DO NOT POST/TALK ABOUT WAREZ, 1. It's illegal 2. It breaks forum rules.

well, it never occurred to me an android device would come without Google Apps, and I needed a tab at that point. I was told I need correct libs, anyone knows where to find it?
