[Q] Mini HDMI swivel cable/adapter - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

Hello there,
I wonder how the mini-hdmi slot feels like when a cable is plugged in and the tablet is in your hands : the slot is on the right, and it seems like the connection is going to be quite fragile if you try to play an accelerometer based game with this cable leaving the tablet at 90 degrees and having all the weight of the cable until it reaches the floor to get to the tv applying force down on the little connection...
this is why I'm trying to find a robust mini-hdmi to hdmi swivel adapter. Something like this :

}
but mini-hdmi to hdmi.
Does someone have an idea ? Does this exist ? Am I looking for something not necessary ? (I don't have the pad yet as it should come to France by the beginning of May)
Cheers,
Sgspikes

Most mini hdmi to hdmi cables aren't the thickest things in the world. The cable should be able to handle the torsion easily way before the connection. As long as its a camera type hdmi cable and not a bulky thick cable.

You could use that very cable and add a HDMI to Mini (or Micro) HDMI adapter. They're available on amazon for a few dollars

I got one of these and it worls well so far.

Thats bit pricey, these look good with decent reviews and cheaper:

mini-USB male to iPod/iPhone Female?

is there such a product? Many people have an ipod connector in their vehicle (FM transmitter or other) and was wondering if there is such a converter that i can plug into my mini-USB port on my phone that allows an iPod/iPhone connector to plug into it just for audio out. (don't care about charging really but that would be a +).
If their isn't the pin i'm sure the pin outs are readily available. I know they are for the minu-USB/ext-USB for our devices. So would be as simple as dissecting both pieces and then mating the proper wires?
I found this i-Pod female to 3.5mm but it would be too much to carry this around with my mini-USB to 3.5mm
i want something like this but inverted so to speak (iPhone/iPod connector to be female and mini-USB connector to be male)

After refining my search, i found this thread asking about the same thing and this mod where someone created the converter for the G1.
I have finals coming up next week and will probably look more into this in the summer and create my own converter.
Anybody be willing to buy one if i start custom making them? and if there's a great demand, maybe start getting them mass produced.
I'm thinking $15-$25 depending on how difficult it would be to create each one (looks fairly simple) and the material of the casing (maybe a custom carbon-fire?) what do you guys think?

well you can get a long mini usb cable that long and then get the little mini to micro adapter tip for it and it would work just fine!
canadiantire.ca has some interesting usb options.. do a search for usb they have some plug and cable assemblies that could be of interest.
Search Ebay (UK) for leads: USB 2.0 A MALE to MICRO USB B MALE DATA CHARGING CABLE (item 290441711518)
And Mini Car Charger USB Adapter (item 390250810047)
Cost peanuts
there are many usb car chargers that are simply a small cylinder that practically fit into the cigarette lighter hole and have a standard female usb plug on it. you could get one of those and a micro-usb cable separately however long you want. be warned though that some universal chargers do not work with our phones as they sense how they are being charged by resistance over the data pins.

[Q] Does the G-Tab not charge off USB?

It doesn't look like it to me. Is this true? This would be a show-stopper for me. Thanks.
Found the answer: No.

Well that sucks.
If it's any consolation, neither does the Xoom. I think once you hit the larger tablet form factor, you can expect USB charging to go out the window.
Yeah, 5V DC at less than an amp is only supplying around 4.5 watts of charging power. You're looking at 7 hours or thereabouts to charge via USB. If it's any further consolation, the iPad can charge via USB, but only high power USB or when it is asleep. It will still take a long time. Still, it would be nice to have the option even just to keep it topped off while near the computer.

Amen!
Anyway I find the overall battery performance on the G tab pleasing!
What about something like this?
I have this:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
which is powered externally via 5V DC at 3A amps. It has USB ports on the bottom and even comes with a USB-to-DC adapter for the Sony e-Reader.
Since this isn't a regular computer USB port (I guess), could this type of setup theoretically work with the GTab and, if so, is there some type of USB-to-DC cable that would work?

[Q] USB connector

Hi,
I'm a noob HTC Flyer and trying to catch up on this massive information source and have a question that I haven't found any answer to.
I can't remember where I read it but someone said that you could use a standard 5-pin microUSB cable in the 12-pin connector on the Flyer and I wonder if that is true?
I guess I'm to tired after reading thru 100+ pages in LeeDroid thread. It helped to use the right word when searching... sorry!
The answer to my question has indeed been covered before, see this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099169
Any standard Micro-USB cable will work. You just insert it "upside-down" from how you typically would (if screen of Flyer is facing up on table, the spring-loaded teeth on the connector face down) and in the bottom "half" of the port. Do so with a bit of care, I think a guy on here bent some of the pins on the port by not being careful.
Sorry to thread ninja, but....
MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO!!!!!
Gotta give some props to you. I love that movie, the nekobasu, and anything Miyazaki.

Do you really need to insert upside down? I use BlackBerry chargers & USB cords as is....

[Working] HooToo (HT-CT01) Micro USB OTG + 4 port charging hub

In an effort to streamline my adapters & cabling behind my TV, I decided to purchase this hub. What attracted me to this was the combination of OTG + charging/powering capabilities. This hub is perfect for charging/powering usb-connected devices (i.e.-miracast adapter, chromecast, cell phones, tablets, & gaming controllers). Around Christmas time, I picked this up on sale for about $14 with coupon code.
Pros
Charges/powers up to 4 USB devices
OTG works!
Pros
~1ft USB OTG cable
Must use super short provided cable for OTG
Only one port on hub is for OTG
OTG port plugging into the Nexus Player is in the front
My biggest gripe has to be the super short cable provided. When I first purchased it, the cord was too short for my liking (approximately 1 ft). Because of this, I went straight for my micro USB cable I use for my OnePlus. For some reason, that didn't work. I didn't think to try the super short cord. After nearly giving up on it, I gave the short cable a try. Naturally, that cable worked. To make up for the short USB cable, I used an old 3 ft USB extension cord I had lying around. All in all, I am happy with this hub.
