Just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing horrible WiFi speeds under CM7? I all but booted the device once with the stock Rom so I'm not sure how well it worked with that. The market especially is slow and web pages are horribly slow to load. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Tried other places with the same results, so it's not just my router or internet.
Try a different rom. If the speeds are very slow in several roms then its hardware

I was wondering if there is any way to increase the wifi range for the vibrant? I think that wifi rang is horrible!!! My dads 2g Iphone has an infinite better wifi range than this device.
Also, I have very inconsistent data connection. For instance, I am trying to load a webpage and I can see that the phone is trying to upload but doesn't download for a while. My data speed is great so its really annoying that my connection just freezes.
This has been true for all the roms that I have tried from the stock one to the latest obsidian froyo one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I find the wifi range to be about average. It's much better than my iPod touch.
Try flashing a different modem like the ji6. You can find them at team whiskeys website.
since I upgraded through kies mini to froyo 2.2 on my vibrant my data speed went from 200-400 kBps to 10-40 Kbps. huge decrease in data speed. the update gave me ka6 modem. ive tried flashing to ka7 and currently have kb1. anyone know how i can get my data speed back up?

i know others have this issue since ive been reading. i called t mobile yesterday and they said they didnt know anything about this but the rep found many people on their and other sites that have this problem.
no one seems to have a solution. ive done everything from hard reseting, factory resetting, odin and reupdating, trying every modem/kernal i can find, different roms, tweaks, every POSSIBLE thing i can think of or has been recommended.
anyone know how to fix this? this is my second vibrant and it is still happening (its not a 4g, its a 3g).

im positive. i haven't gone above 1.5 gb since this happened. and it still happens after i plan starts over every month
just got the atrix and when i download stuff over wifi its almost the exact same speed as if it was downloading over the network. i turned data off and only used wifi and still its slow as hell. my incredible doesnt do this so i know its not an issue with my router. could i have gotten a bad phone? ive only seen like 1 thread asking about slow wifi download so maybe i did?

My wifi is fast.
What is your carrier, what firmware are you on, and what have you done to your phone (if anything at all).
Att I just signed up 4 days ago. I'm on stock 83 firmware. I'd did root it just so I could sideload apps
I'm guessing it's should get a replacment. The wifi shouldn't be like this
I would simply unroot it and trade it for a new one if I were in your situation at an ATT store.

why dont you do some speed tests with the app to quantify your slow speeds. then compare to speeds from other atrix owners so you can judge based on the numbers.
its def a problem with the phone. my speed test are about 8 mb/s but anything i download from the internet or market its about 250 kb/s. my incredible will download anything on wifi at about 1 mb/s. i even just put greyblur on and changing roms doesn't do anything

4.1.83 and older firmware on teh atrix has a stupid market cap that limits download speed to a few hundred kb/s. the newer gingerbread builds removed this cap. im not sure about the download speed from the internet though, can you watch youtube vids on 720p on your atrix using your wifi without lagging?
yep just loaded up a couple hq videos and they run perfect
1.) Chrome is highly unstable and crashes often even after install/uninstall/reinstall.
2.) My phone is having major issues staying connected to my home WiFi. It connected last night for a while and then won't connect anymore. I've tried rebooting, forgetting and reconnecting to my network but it's not working. I may have to take it back!... grrrr

I like the stock browser, just miss the Chrome browser integration between mobile/PC.
To my knowledge the stock browser won't do this.
I believe Chrome causes crashes for me as well. It could be my keyboard as it happens when I copy and paste with my keyboard. Boat Browser wipes the floor with Chrome on all counts apart from the eye-candy animation.

It seems to be working intermittently now which is better than before.. My GNex and S3 have zero issues staying on wifi so not sure what would be different with this phone.
Chrome performs perfectly for me. No problems on wifi here either.

has anyone tried running Browsermark on both Chrome and the stock browser? it runs pretty decent on Chrome and gets a good score, but becomes hella laggy on the stock browser and gets a horrible score. anyone else see this?
I have to agree with the Chrome issue. Today I was trying to show my sister how much nicer than her S3 my new DNA was and I took both phones to this graphic intense website, mine loaded everything first but hers was scrolling much much better. I couldn't understand why mine was sucking so badly. She was using Chrome on her phone and so was I. Decided to open the same website on the stock browser and it started scrolling very smoothly as well.
I too have the problem now that Stock works better but I really enjoy the way Chrome lets me open my PC bookmarks and lets me open up whatever I have open on my other computers.
I did have a couple of issues today with the phone. While I was visiting my sister I found the phone to have no signal at all a few times. This is not something that ever happens in her house. I would say maybe Verizon was having issues but her Verizon S3 was working fine.
At another point in the day while sitting at the table talking I heard the "DROID" notification go off. I'm the only one with a Droid there so I knew it was my phone. I pick it up, unlock it and there are no notifications at all... This happened 3 times. . . The phone also had a horrible signal at this other house so I figured maybe it had something to do with the bad signal.
I've noticed really slow speeds with my wireless at work. No issues at home though. I can only get about 200kb down/up at work, but normal 15mb down at home. No one else was seeing any speed issues on their phones. Work uses Linksys wireless access points throughout the building. Didn't matter which one I was connected to. Haven't noticed any connectivity issues, it always connects quickly and holds a connection. And as far as vzw signal, this phone is much better than my GS3. Getting 2 bars of 4g at home now, where the GS3 stays on 1 bar of 3g.

Chrome causes many conflicts. such as screen flickering...stock browser is best dont use chrome.....
Try factory reset....for WiFi prob....

To Fix Wifi issue
Just click the name of you're home wifi network and select forget then connect to it back again then re enter your password... It works for me... I noticed at first.... that my Droid DNA somehow hacked to my WiFi routers even it's WPA password protected....It connected at first without requiring a password.....sounds kinda strange but it really happened. After few day's then I started to get the wifi issues..."even it's connected to my router" it won't allow internet access... Just follow the steps...I hope it helps >
I was having a similar issue where wifi was dropping and reconnecting. I read elsewhere that a reboot of the router would help. I tried this yesterday and it seems to be OK since.

My Rezound is S-off and running Newts One XxX Rom. I went to the 3.2.1 release and ran that for a couple of months before going to the 6.0.3 release (most recent as far as I know). It works great but I've ran into one pesky problem: the wifi tether (whether through the wifi tether - yellow icon or the open garden app) seems to exhibit an extremely slow upload speed, to the point where I literally can't browse the net. Now, this is maybe 80 to 90% of the sessions. Once in a while, I would get a tether that works full speed, i.e. 10+ mbps upload. When I have a "good" session like this, the tethering online experience is just like going through my home cable connection.
I've searched for months now everywhere online for a possible cause/solution but so far no luck. Any ideas?
