When I get a text and i either see it or mark it read one of the notifications is still showing I have an unread message. I either
1) mark as read on pure messenger widget on my widgetlocker screen
or
2) click the text icon on my launcer pro dock and then click the new message
but the message still appears in the status bar (top).
The same happeneds when I do the opposite. If i clear all in the status bar, the notification will still show as new in the launcher pro dock
How can I get it so they both are in sync?

I have seen this issue on other phone forums via search, but I seem to be the only one with this happening on a Vibrant. Every time I get message the yellow icon comes up on the notification bar but then the old school white message icon comes up too and the drop down just says I have unread messages.
I tried turning off the notifications in the messaging options but that removes both the yellow envelope icon (I want that) but not the unread messages (white postcard). Even after "read" the messages it stays there until I hit clear notifications then pops back up when I get a new reply.
Anybody have any ideas on how I can fix this? I am rooted running the stock ROM with the recent OTA update.
I also checked the SIM for any stored or saved messages and at one point deleted every text I had.
It sound slike you have another msging app installed - like HandCent or something.

Of course I can always use a widget to show the unread counts, but not to be able to see it on my dock is quite annoying. Besides I find the unread count widget more suitable in my lockscreen.
Hmmm, how would I fix this? I've already ticked the 3 options under dock settings, reboot, and still having the same error.

I ham using the Tall min text icon for my sms. So using folder organiser I have changed my application icon and added the widget on my homescreen.
But the problem is that i cant see the number of unread messages like the actual message shows the number in oval shapei.e. in green colour. How to do the same for the tall min icon.
Download a widget that lets it show the counter on it, there's loads for almost anything in the market.
Not exactly sure if this is the right place for posting this, but is there an app I can get to display an unread sms count on the Handcent icon? My widgetlocker lock screen has a swipe bar that goes to handcent, but I want it to show an unread message count.

A wee annoyance, nothing more, but whenever a new text message is recieved it shows a notification on the lockscreen until I open default app, even though notifications are off so they dont appear in status bar. I use chompsms as default and have no reason to open messaging except to get rid of the notification.
Same thing happens with facebook notifications, I do occasionally use that app at least so no biggy.
Any way to disable the lockscreen notifications for text messages altogether? They serve no purpose when "real" notification is in the status bar and clears itself with the chompsms fine.
