Why choose? Theres a phone for every occasion. But since you asked, the HTC incredible cause its mine, the previous generation (cheap!) and covers all the bases...for me anyway.

I got my first and only Android device in May 2010. I love it. I have only learnt how to root the device and install custom ROM's in the last 3 weeks! So I have been out of the loop for sometime. But for me, the HTC Desire is the perfect phone!
My next phone will most likely be the HTC Sensation. Will set be back quite a few pound coins (Still can't believe I took a 24-month contract!) , but it will be worth it!

samsung galaxy s gt i9000!

Evo 3d will rape the sensation. I don't get why allthe hype for.the sensation.

Desire HD

HTC Nexus One (Googles Development device)

Galaxy s for sure

htc glacier aka mytouch 4g version of desire hd, in the US , on tmobile. best smartphone i ever used. continues to amaze me on a daily basis!

Been all over every android phone, from G1 to the Droids, Galaxy S to the G2x, the only two phones to ever impress me, the Nexus One, and the Thunderbolt.
The Thunderbolt should have been the Nexus 3.
Perviously I had turned BB and Apple fan boys into android fan boys with the Nexus One.
Now I have turned moto, galaxy lovers into htc fan boys with the Thunderbolt.
Its absolutely amazing, sans sense of course, theres nothing wrong with sence, I've just always perfered vanilla android.

My two current phones of choice are the Galaxy S and the Nexus One. But I'm gonna get the Galaxy S II, so I think that will become my favourite Android phone when I get that.

I think the soon coming Evo 3D will own.

The phone now I am using is Samsung Vibrant(Galaxy S),satisfy. Yet my favorite one might be Moto Atri 4G.

HTC Desire, aside difficulties to rood and rom it

Android on Windows Phone 7
Would you guys recommend getting a windows phone 7 and loading android on there, or getting an Android phone and loading windows phone 7?

HTC vs Samsung

I don't really like the vs threads but I really want to know. What your opinions are? I own a desire s at the moment and like it , but seems pretty lame if to compare it even to the Galaxy S2 (Or even S1. )
Sent from my epic Desire S running the awesome CM9 using XDA premium.
i have a samsung but i like the sense UI and the case of the HTC devices a lot.
Though i wouldn't buy a htc, because they are always more expensive compared to a samsung device with the same power
biggest selling point for me that made me buy Samsung over HTC was the Super AMOLED screen...
the screen is just beautiful in comparison to the dull looking HTC screen... the colors are much more vibrant and clear on the Samsung devices.
hands down Samsung makes the best screens...even giving the iphones a run for their money on screen clarity.
I currently have a desire HD and I love it to bits but I'm due for an upgrade soon and Im stuck between the SGS II and the Note. I just love the screen on both of them and movies on the note are amazing.
One thing I do love about htc is that their sure easy to root and practically unbrickable (from my experience) due the boot loader and fast boot. One thing I hate is htc sense, never liked it, never will. Also the battery life on HTC isn't to great either without rooting, custom roms, blah....

I have had several samsung phones over the years and always had nothing but problems with them. I just pick up the HTC rezound and it's by far the best phone i have ever owned.
I use to hate htc. Il admit i was a fanboy for samsung. Sammy this sammy that. I scooped me a sensation and its running ics. I came from a nexus s and man i love this phone. The colors are more true on the qhd screen. One of the reasons i loved sammy so much was the samoled screens. Now i realize that i was dumb bc who needs to look at their screen at an angle? Spent 2 years with samsung. Really enjoying my switch to htc and plan on buying their products for some time.

Have too say I had HTC desire now HTC sensation xe.... Carnt fault the HTC range ... Build is good. Screen is more true and not over the top and once rooted to a great Rom battery life is spoton. Sammy has its good points too but the screen is what kills it for me its too vibrant..
If you don't like it, don't do it. Glx II is better.
i don't know about HTC, but i think samsung is great to use and modding android.

Why the S2 over the note?
Anytime I look for comparisons there based on stats and false info. I thought the note was a gs2 with a bigger screen @1.4GHz
Until someone can convince me to either I'll delay my upgrade.......
......or I'll get another HTC

samsung quality > htc

What was your first HTC phone?

I've been noticing people commenting that they've been a long time HTC user, going back to the hero or even the G1.
Reading these comments makes me feel very old, lol. Just wanted to get an idea of how many generations current HTC users have been through....
My first HTC device was the audiovox XV6600 on Verizon (aka blue angel).
After owning that phone for 2 years jumped to sprint with the 6800 -> 6900 -> diamond -> touch pro -> hero -> EVO and now the 3D.
I may actually pass on upgrading this year for the first time. Not because I have any qualms with the LTE, but because I'm actually satisfied with the 3D.
I don't think some you guys understand how far HTC's build quality has come over the years.
The touch pro was by far the most killer phone at the time on paper, but the phone was put together terribly. I couldn't bare to own most of those phones for more than 6 months let alone a year. The 3D is the first one that has held up physically and still runs lightening fast.
I think we've finally reached the point of diminishing returns.

As far as build quality goes, they have all been relatively the same. Every phone has had its cons and flaws in terms of build quality. They've all certainly had "light-bleed" which is one department HTC can't seem to remedy.
Overall HTC's build quality has always been decent. It's not nearly as spectacular as most people make them out to be, but they are definitely one of the better manufacturers.

first I had the Mogul (6800), then Touch Pro, Hero, Evo 4G and now the 3D.
contemplating moving to Samsung for my next device, it depends on the rootability and dev community around the Evo 4G LTE
I had an HTC Touch Viva: mi first venture into the world of smartphones it was fast for all i nedded, not many games though and i still have it then in one year i bought a used HTC TytnII: omg that phone was awesome it had everything but then android came so i loaded it with android and i instantly loved it. Then to start my jorney into android i bought a Xperia X10a my only choices were that or the sgs or captivate in at&t branding which looked really ugly and i didn't like the camera so i went with the X10 i had a really awesome time with the phone all the issues and stuff but in the end it held up now im using my bros inspire 4g and i like it but im using it until i get to buy another phone wich i think will be sgs3 cause i would have loved the one x but the non expandable memory doesn't cut it for me i also thought of the xperia ion but stupid at&t or sony idk whose fault it is that the phone ain't released yet -_- but by the time that gets here it will be to old and the only redeamimg feature would be the 12mp camera so thats my phone history also all of them still work and i still play with them from time to time ^^ and i think i wrote too much lol

how are you jumping off your 3d so fast?
arent yearly upgrades gone?
---------- Post added at 03:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 AM ----------
1. the first point i would like to ask is how is everyone moving from the evo 3d to the LTE? evo 3d came out a year ago as of april, since this time they removed the option for yearly upgrades....the reason im asking this is i would love to swap over however i still have a year left with my evo3d before upgrade...
anways my first HTC phone was the tmobile wing (and oh boy with winmo 6 a load of fun)
since then ive owned g1 / g2 / mytouch / mytouch 4g / mytouch 4g slide / evo 4g / evo 3d
ive owned a few other phones inbetween but those are the htc phones i remember owning

First android. Love being in control. Want to sell iPad for something a little more privacy concious after three months with Ios!
treo 755 (HTC made) -> Centro (HTC made) -> HTC touch (vogue)-> Mogul (titan) -> Touch Pro (raph)-> Treo pro (HTC made) -> Hero -> Og Evo -> Evo Shift -> Evo 3D
I love Htc, i have ran android since the 1.0 days and love their hardware. I am debating jumping ship though, i hate this locked bootloader BS.

[Q] What was your device before you got an S3?

What I am wondering is whether most people are making a small incremental jump in their phone (such as S2 to S3), or a huge jump.
I'll go first... I currently have an HTC Desire HD. It is nearly 2 years old now and it has done me amazingly. I plan on running a custom rom on the S3, just like I did on my DHD. With that in mind I may not notice as bigger difference as some people, although that all depends on what CM9 has in store for us.
How about you guys?
I got a Galaxy S2 and a iPhone 4S. And soon a Galaxy S3?
I got a S2. I upgrade to get a bigger screen.

Most people are making relatively small upgrades. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that the people on XDA seem to be phone addicts!!!

Same here. Long time HTC fan, coming from an HTC Desire S (1yr old). First Samsung phone for me. Hope it doesn't disappoint. My only concern is if i'll be able to live without sense. But seeing what they've done to Sense 4, I'm not sure i'll be able to live with it anyway... IMHO, Sense 3.5 was the pinnacle of HTC's Sense UI... Sense 4 seems like a downgrade, so I think i'll be fine (fingers crossed)
The original Galaxy S. Looking forward to the S III
At the moment Huawei Ideos X5, HTC Wildfire and Transformer Prime. Huawei being my main phone at the moment. I traded few months ago my SGS2 to Omnia W and then got rid of it pretty quick, because the WP wasnt my thing. Been waiting for SGS3 since then.
Coming off the horrible HTC Touch Cruise i went on and got the first iPhone. That was a revolution! I´ve since had all the iPhones up to my current iPhone 4. Now I feel the time is right to check out the *other* side of The Force.

Will your next phone be a "Nexus" device?

Now, before anybody gets the wrong idea, I am in no way unhappy with my phone or wanting to knock or besmirch (GREAT WORD!!!) any of the developers for our phone or any other non-Nexus device (Samsung, Motorola, HTC, LG, etc.). I just am curious, I was up in the air between getting the Galaxy Nexus and the EVO LTE when I was eligible for upgrade last June and I went with the EVO because I prefer the feel and build quality of HTC over the other manufacturers, and because the GNex was almost 6 months old when the EVO LTE was released, and because the EVO LTE has a far superior camera to the GNex. I am also partial to Sense over TouchWiz, Blur, etc, even though we really all know having an overlay over vanilla Android isn't the best Android experience. I have owned the CDMA Hero, EVO 4G, the EVO 3D, and now the EVO LTE and I am an HTC fanboy through and through (and am hoping that in 2014, the Nexus line is manufactured by HTC). I read where Google is trying to bring official AOSP support to non-Nexus devices (I believe Sony is the first one. Please correct me if I'm wrong.). I was just curious if anybody is starting to seriously consider moving to a Nexus phone for their next phone.
That will be my next phone...
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I will only get a nexus device if they start including sd expansion. Since its a development device I don't see it happening anytime soon
It most likely depends on who the manufacturer is of the Nexus device when I'm eligible for an upgrade in 2014.
I had a tough time choosing between the Galaxy Nexus and the EVO LTE this summer. I ultimately went with HTC because I previously had the OG Evo and was very happy with it.
ill wait till the specs come out for it before i decide.
If HTC makes the next nexus then more than likely I will buy it. It would be cool to have some sense roms on it along with aosp

I went with the evo over the nexus because of hardware and build quality. Figured software is changeable, hardware ain't.

I've owned every HTC android device on Sprint since the Hero and I must say, the EVO 4G was the only great experience I've had. I like to hack my phone, custom ROMs, theming, the whole nine yards. The EVO 4G was the best phone I've ever owned but I really can't say one way or another if I'll buy another HTC again as it all depends on what they offer.
I like how Samsung has unified the GS3 and may end up with a GS4 next year but the EVO line is inconsistent and being carrier exclusive can limit the developer following and tends to easily be forgotten. I'm hoping HTC makes one flagship phone for all carriers (think One X on every carrier with a black/red model called "EVO" for Sprint). That way the phones are the same not matter how you look at it... just my two cents.
Hope that makes sense.. really tired on third shift.
They need to make a EVO line accros all carry and make that there flagship phone.. And it needs to be a cutting edge device when they release it. Samsung got it right the g3. I am a fan of HTC but they just don't seem to get it anymore. Yea I know you guys will want the EVO line to stay sprint exclusive but we get screwed. The g3 bei g across all carries they get all the cool accessories and development.

Samsung is a good company and make awesome devices but they a sorta like apple when apple fan thanks about android they thank about g3 and when when we thank about them we thank about iPhone there are so many android phones out there and what I mean about I want some thing that no one has is a good powerful device that no one want like the evo lte mostly every one in my small town has a g2 g3 or a iPhone so I want some different
sprint
Sprint has a lot of android phone but no really big one with development mostly the ones with development are evo late g3 sorta note 2 g2 and the nexus and 4/5 of those devices are Samsung so if the m7 comes out on sprint I might get and put caynogmod on so I like to thank I have a nexus
Both htc and Samsung are making good phones. Everyone has their preference. I recently switched to the gs3 from the evo lte because I wanted something different. I like both phones though.

OK man. I love how the g3 looks but so many people have it. Nexus 4 looks awesome but you can't find it in stores. I'm the one that like to see the phone first before I get it. G3 just has so many users. If the rumoured HTC m7 comes out on sprint I might get but I get the rumoured g4 when it comes out. But the g4 will have a lot out users I am a picky person to my phones
Yea, I wouldn't buy a phone if I couldn't try it out in person either. I'm excited to see what htc has in store for its next release. After using the gs3, it will be a tough decision between the gs4 and the next htc phone.
