Well, i dont have any links for what i am about to type, but the general consensus from all the mind numbing research and reading we have done regarding this phone, there is some information. The 32 GB version will be released along with the NFC version and with the Tegra2 version. So the first stocks hitting the market will be 16 GB/1.2 Ghz Exynos/Super AMOLED Plus and later stocks can be with Tegra and with NFC.
Hope that helped

whats the differance between the 2 processers?
Is 1 of them better in performance?
I find it strange how they going to sell some with Exynos and then with Tegra,
This will be bad for putting custom roms on them? as they are 2 diff kinds of phones.
Sorry i dont no a great deal about these phones.

Ugh... so if I want AMOLED and Exynos I'm stuck with 16Gb?

No, if you want Galaxy S 2 you're stuck with 16 GB, not only SAmoled+ and Exynos.

Yeah I wasn't very clear. There will be one, but not at the same time than the 16Gb. No release date is known for 32GB.

Samsung Sweden has confirmed that the NFC version coming out later this summer will still sport SuperAMOLED+ and Exynos. However... still no word about whether this version will also have 32Gb or not.
Has anyone else heard anything?

any information about 32gb variant ???
ugh((((

GSMnation is saying mid-May (their 16GB model is shipping around now). It's priced $110 more.

SGS2 + 16GB card = 32GB that i would have difficulty filling .Filling that is just for the sake of filling .

Thank you ....
good news actually ))))

I've spent most of the last week trying to pin down the release date for the 32GB version. I've gotten dates from May 13 to November, with no real consensus. So if there's anyone out there who has an in at Samsung or one of the UK carriers, now's your chance to gain XDA immortality (or at least a few thanks from those of us looking for the 32GB version).
Basically, I'm trying to determine whether to pull the trigger now, or wait for the 32GB version -- if it's coming out before the end of May, I'll wait. Otherwise, I'll place an order around the end of the week.

Just wondering if anybody has heard anything about this 32Gb version being released???
I remember reading somewhere release towards middle/end of May.
Also heard not being released at all...
Dont know what to believe

Hot damn... I have 80GB of mp3s that I actually like a lot... Add a couple gigs of pictures, two or three movies, and don't forget apps... I feel cramped on my class 10 / 32GB microSD card as it is... A total of 64GB would give me some breathing room.
My biggest problem right now is being an american using a CDMA HTC Evo in Japan for months at a stretch. Finding free WiFi is difficult at best after I leave my apartment. No carrier signal that I've seen so I could not stream music with Google's new beta to save room.
Hoping the semi-confirmed SGS2 for Sprint (aka: Within) will have 32GB and Exnos

Just got this from GSM Nation:
"32gb versions have been delayed by Samsung at least till the end of June, Gsm Nation Sales"

80 GB of MP3's and several GB's of pictures to fit into a phone? You could surely be a bit more selective than that.

Bump!
This thread seems to have the best title of the 7 to bump. I've heard the 32GB will be available in Taiwan near the end of July. Is there any country with the 32GB yet? Is there even one in Korea? I've been dying waiting especially because the 16GB is just sitting there laughing at me saying nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah.

Still no Info on 32 GB version for Europe (most vendors cancelled the preorders, at expansys still "on wait for further infos").
Have my SGS II 16GB + 32 GB mSD now crammed full (internal SD with sygic worldwide maps, external with pics, music and movies) and running out of free mem.
Would need it to have my aviation maps stored too later this year.
Crap is, You cant´s move apps and relating data to external_sd but only Internal sd which limits the use as navi when huge map material has to be stored (right now I have to delete and reload maps depending on where I go). No way to delete movies from external_sd and place maps there ..........

Thanks for the Euroupdate, anyone in Asia got intel? I'm assuming anyone in the dying empire will be last to the table thanks to it's plodding carrier intervention.
I went to my most reliable scuttlebutt source, a Samsung store in a nondescript 1mil + city here in Asia. The clerk gave an extremely non-committal July 30 target date. As I've said in other threads I did see an email from the main government owned carrier also touting this date.

Why get a 64gb model?

For those of you that want to get a 64gb model, what do you plan on using it for that justifies the extra cost?

i am a pilot and like to carry approach plates and charts for the entire us. I know i could get a microsd but i already have a nearly full class 10 32gb microSD so its just more space.

I think this is a no brainer really. a 64gb micro SD card is like what $200+, to get 96gb on a 32gb model would be quite expensive, but if you get a 64gb model and then add a 32gb card, it would work out less.
and if you have a lot of full hi-def movies on a tablet, to take full advantage of the hi-res screen, you won't fit many films on a 32gb card.
Gobs of media files - music and pdf manuals largely. While wifi coverage grows daily, I'm not in a major metropolitan area so finding coverage can be a challenge. The cloud is great - if you can get at it.

Why do people buy 32gb?
I ordered the 64GB version because I can, I say it's better with to much space then to little. And I don't want to come in that position that I don't have enough space, don't like when I get limited because of the hardware.
videos and music is the main use. I first thought on to buy the 32GB + MicroSD card, but with MicroSD you are limited to 4GB files and that is not good when most of the movies are bigger then 4GB. (can be wrong about this)
And was there something wrong with this thread?

[Q] Why 64GB?
B/C $100 for double the disk space is a good deal.... and I'm not constrained by my budget... so why wouldn't I get it?
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
If you need to have 96 gb or more its better. It depends on what your using it for. Those who are buying 32gb I think have a very specific use in mind and know how much space they need or are just going to use it as a media consumption device.
Those that are buying the 64gb version probably fit in 3 camps:
1) can afford the space so why not?
2) are using it for work and know/need/want to make sure that they have all of their materials at hand if they have no connectivity (I need geo maps, research papers, my own work, and entertainment on the device.) and don't want to lug or power a portable device.
3) Commuters who want to have access to a large selection of media on the device.
I personally would love to have a 128gb chip or a few of them and dump my bulky external drive. Though I think their price is a little high yet. 1tb would give me wet dreams. (my current ext hd)
Though I do amit that even if I didn't think I had the need for 64gb I would have bought it as you can never add more to the device itself. Say if you buy 32gb and need 128 your spending more than if you bought 64gb and 64gb chip. Barring the fact that you carry a collection of chips.
Cheers!
I'm just trying to think of whether I would be able to make use of the extra space. I don't think "why not?" or "because I can" are good reasons
I feel like maybe there are some useful/cool things I could do with the prime if I had extra space, but I'm still not sure what that is. I only have like ~8 gigs of music. I don't feel like I need a large media library on my device, since I'll know the 1 or 2 things I want to watch at any given time.
Using it as a general storage device might be interesting though.

Sounds like you might be better with a 32gb version then. Just think of all you would want to put on it get an estimated size then how close are you to 32gb if you break it I would buy the 64gb if you don't come close a 32 with an sdhc for expansion would be good I think.
I also think because I can can be a valid reason, think of it like this at the price the difference is not much for double the storage. Personally being a dink(double income no kids) the extra cost is nothing but the cost of not buying what I need can be the difference between having a useful device with no extra work to a useful device that I have to manage what sdhc cards have want info, loaded, and hope I don't loose the other cards. Just dont forget the oppurnity cost of the device.
I don't get why people think $100 extra is a fair deal for the 64GB.
An Samsung 32GB Class 10 card is €30 in Holland, while we pay €100 extra for the 64GB version.
Because I need more than 128gb I think a >=96gb chip is more than 100? And 100$ just is not that much to me.
Well future devices will have up to 128GB of flash storage. It was just released a couple weeks back or so that they finally made it possible.

Do you stream or do you store? Storing music, even if you have a large library, doesn't chew up tons of storage. Video, especially high-profile, does. Plex and PlayOn pretty much eliminate the need to store video locally. I only store stuff when I know I'm going to be on long plane flights without Wi-Fi.
I've got about 2K Rhapsody downloads on my 32GB and a couple of local MKV videos and am using less than half the storage. More is always better and once you buy it you can't go back but it's also kind of stupid to piss money away (no matter how much you claim to have) on something you're not going to use. And it looks like January for the 64GB's so that's something to consider too.
I'm the one who created the other thread. I finally decided for the 64GB for the following reasons:
-I can (i mean, it's not a real effort to pay the extra)
-Now i don't see the real need for the 64Gb, but i don't know if i will need them in the time i have it, as it's my first tablet. Having the 64Gb means if in the future i need the extra storage, i will have it. Having the 32Gb would mean the need to buy extra microSD cards.
-I travel a lot, and sometimes for long time. SD cards are fine, but internal storage means faster reads and less problems (like forgetting the sd or having it lost/broken for any reason)
-I plan on using it for a little gaming too, if the games start to need more space, i will already have it and not depend on the sd card. I hate having to watch which apps I can have or not have due to space in my Nexus One.
-I have a dSLR so i'd like to use it too for pic displaying and very basic editing if needed (with the dock + sd cards). This pics are quite huge (10mb each, ~30mb if shot in raw), so moving a few of them to the internal storage (for using without the dock) would be quite space consuming.
-Having a 32gb microsd card means 96gb instead of 64, which further expands this capabilities.
I can't depend either on music/video streaming. Most music I like isn't in cloud services and Google Music isn't available in Spain. My internet connection is pretty bad, and the router is even worse, with ocasional and random wifi disconnections.
With all this in mind, i just prefer spending a few more € on the 64gb and not fall short in some weeks.
Oh, i forgot the main reason. To stand up in the top of the mountain and laugh at the 32gb people

It's fantastic that you both have the resources. It's incredibly ostentatious that, for whatever reason, you feel the need to share it with others that may not be in your position. Between this and the post in the BB thread where someone's order got canceled because of a debit card issue and some schmuck posted "I don't need to worry, my credit card has no limit" I'd say there's a lot of people on this forum who need to validate themselves.

That's way out of the reason i posted it. The OP is asking for reasons to get a 64 gb model over a 32gb one. Pricing is one of the possible reasons so I included it in the list just because it was an issue i considered while asking myself the same question, so it might be relevant to the OP. If i were just to try to show how proud i am of the money i have, i would remove the parenthesis (where i state that if getting the 64gb is an effort the OP should consider the 32Gb instead). The last sentence was a joke that someone posted on my the thread i created for this same reason and i liked and copied it here. You can check it if you want at the link someone posted in this thread.
I would buy the 64gb version due to the fact that on Honeycomb you can not move apps to the sd card and maybe this will change with ICS so with games taking up a lot of space the extra memory would be nice.

I do as well, but hell, if I am out 35 bucks I'll just do a chargeback or some such, or just eat the cost. It shows I should expect delivery between the 15th and 28th of March, so we shall see.
My gut feeling says it's counterfeit...but the fact the seller is charging such a low price for it makes it easier to 'take the hit' if it is in fact counterfeit.
It's mainly the fact that it's coming from China...and how they're notorious for selling fake memory cards and other merchandise. On top of that, that particular eBay seller doesn't have much total feedback, compared to other China eBayers who typically have many thousands.
Even though the shipment time interval seems to be between 3-5 weeks, who knows...you might end up receiving it much earlier (like in half that estimated time frame).
Keep us posted when you receive the goods.
I thought SD maxes out at 32gb. Anything larger will be SDXC. Does the note even support SDXC?
I also remember reading that counterfeiters will sell fake flash memory that reports itself as the correct size but is programmed to overwrite itself once it goes over the actual physical amount of space on the card. For example you bought a 64gb card and it's really only 16b once you load up over 16bg it will start overwriting itself.
He's also got a 32 GB card for $14
Too good to be true... either stolen or counterfeit is my guess. But for those who are getting it and gets it to work, Grats!

[POLL] What color and storage model did you order: 32GB, 64GB or the 128GB model?

Alight yall.... so which one did you order?
I went with the 128GB - Black Sapphire, because of my music library collection, HD videos, Movies, and massive amount of pictures..... I actually need all the space that I can get..... let alone all my cloud storage's....
Plus don't we get 115GB FREE CLOUD STORAGE TOO? + 1 Year of NETFLIX FREE....
.
Very interesting so far....
I had a hunch that the 64GB variant would be the most popular. Two TM reps that I've spoke with even said that the 64GB's are flying off the shelves like hot cakes. Makes sense...
This comes to show...aside to the price difference, 64GB is plenty to have on board especially with Cloud Storage's nowadays. Now on the flip side IMO 32GB is too small for most users with a device of this caliber. However, some people just don't need that much space....
Mine should be arriving any moment now!
There's a lot more 128GB's ordered than I thought....nice...

Pretty much this.
I would expect that the eventual spread, overall, will end up with 50-60% of users going with the 64GB variant (Edge or Standard), with the 128GB and 32GB variants splitting the remaining percentage, likely skewed somewhat in the favor of the 32GB variant because plenty of people are going to want the design/new phone smell without the super premium cost of the 128GB variant. Forums like this one though will see similar, though the skew would be in favor of the 128GB variant.

I would agree...I think in general, within and outside of XDA, that there is a ~50% split between the 32GB and 64GB variants. It's good that people are buying the 128GB too, because that will pretty much confirm the standard going into the future. I think it already is. For any premium phone today to not have 128GB as an option is not very smart. Soon 128GB will be the lowest offered I'd imagine, especially with the new design language and its unibody frame....imagine 512GB of storage option in the future LOL...at some point it'll become overboard, but as our cameras get better, video recording gets better, games get better and bigger..... 512GB is not a stretch by any means.
Very exciting stuff....

Wrong internal memory size

Hi all!
I am a new HAM2 L03 owner, I purchased the phone used on eBay, but I've seen something curious, the internal memory is displaying as it was 8 gb, but this phone is supposed to have 16 gb internal memory, can you guys help me with this issue?
I'm attaching a screen shot of the internal memory.
There was an 8Gb model sold at WalMart for a short period of time. This is probably one of those. I can tell you it cannot be updated to Lollipop, yet. Check your eBay auction and see if it was advertised as 16Gb. It is actually most likely the reason it was sold off. Sorry for the bad news.

I was under the impression that it was the exact same as the 16 gb and the only difference was the 8 gb storage. Not sure, though, as I don't have the 8 Gb.
Thank you two for your help! according to one image on the link that xordos provided, the Mate 2 Slim has a 3740 mAh battery compared to the regular 3900 / 4100 mAh battery that the HAM2 has, I think it's not a very big difference. I've been using the cellphone since thrusday and I coulndn't be happier, I don't think I can go back to another cellphone that wouldn't provide at least the same battery life and doesn't have the same screen size. I payed $120 USD for it, so I won't complain to the seller (I think this is a good price) if someone is reading this and has doubts about the slim version, my opinion is if you get a really good price, go for it!!!
Curious. How much room does that leave you for apps? If you find its not enough. Root plus link2sd app works great.

If I recall correctly, it is 1.9 gb usable for apps. I will need to use link2sd!

128+ GB microSD card working on Z Ultra?

Has anyone tried this I've being reading about the SDcard standard and also saw a picture of a Z Ultra showing in storage - settings - sdcard1 a 128GB card working (Don't know if it's true tough) so has anyone here tried that? is it true?
wanna buy one but wouldn't wanna waste my money...
manual says max 64GB
https://dl.developer.sonymobile.com/documentation/whitepapers/Xperia_Z_Ultra_LTE_C6833_WP_7.pdf
But its confirmed it supports even higher than that:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/04/0...xc-card-works-a-treat-in-sony-xperia-devices/
If in theory sdxc is fully supported then the controller should work with up to 2TB. But its yet to be tested by someone who willing to spend that money. Or someone who has one of these >256GB cards lying around.
That second link is one of the pages I was reading, I think I'll go ahead and buy one 128gb and if it doesn't work I'll sell it, will report how it works when I do.
Can confirm, I've been using a 128GB Sandisk card in my Z Ultra for the past couple of years. No problems at all.

Class10 is old and all cards have this rating. There is even more complicated ratings coming up on new cards being sold.
I'm talking about V30, V40, V50 and so on. C even. Don't know what C stands for. Mostly to help prosumers and pros selecting when doing 4K.
Some facts here:

At the moment I have a samsung pro 64GB U3: http://www.samsung.com/uk/memory-storage/pro-microsd-card-e/MB-MG64EEU/
Its fast but not impressive. I don't think any memory card matters for our old phone.
It was sale two for one so I got one for our new phone and one for mine.
But you should buy the fastest you can afford without breaking the bank by performance for dollar.
If the top performer cost $100 more than the cheaper but no performance boost. You get the idea. Buy the cheaper.
At the moment I am looking at the toshiba 128 U3.
I will buy four of these for my ipod classic making a total of 512GB storage.
Note that there are many new features that is coming up for SD cards. As I said not that they will benefit our old Z ultra.
But you can still buy one that has a new feature as long as the price is right.
These are the ones I will buy. The one that is cheapest at the time of purchase. Download the Aliexpress app..you often get 40~70% off THAT sale price.

Samsung is a safe card. They are a bit expensive for what you get.
Sandisk is probably the best. But they are the most expensive. By performance for dollar.
A-DATA are good. But research if the specific batch is holding up. They tend to have some good and the other year bad and failing products. Same as with hard disks wd and seagate.
Some other exist but they are out of what I can get. They are more common in the us and asia. Like PNY, Transcend etc. So I cant comment on them.
Ol snap, SUPERUSER balling as usual!
That you for the additional info that will be much needed. I was interested in 128gb since the price has dropped over the years but now I see I need to keep my wallet closed until I put on my thinking cap!
Thank you very much friend!
