Font Changer for [ROM][Gingerbread] 2.3.3 | CyanogenMod 7 | SwiftDroid (v2.0 M3) - GT540 Optimus Themes and Apps

Hi,
Does anyone know if I can use the above together, and more importantly I dont suppose there is a tutorial somewhere on how to get it working?! Am quite scared! Would also like to know if it's worth changing the fonts, or would it impact on any further ROM updates / different Roms being loaded? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Yes you can use font changer from the market on SwiftDroid M3
What to do:
Make a Nandroid backup JUST IN CASE
Copy .ttf to /sdcard/fonts
Open font changer
Select your font from list
Press apply
Wait for it to apply
Reboot
It doesn't affect anything, you just need to re-apply after each flash.
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App

why bother with an app do it directly yourself, no need to be scared the change wont affect your phone, so you wont brick it , i've done it for all my soft-moded data2system versions of different ROMs.
Here is how-to:

I've had no problems with "htc_ime_lowres22_experimental.zip" on every Eris ROM I've tried since 2.1; Eclair/Froyo/Gingerbread. I haven't tested it on GSB v1.9, but I am using it on GSB v1.6, and can't recall a single (Eris) ROM that it did not work on.
BTW, I think the "22" in the name is because it was first built for Froyo - I think it is a derivative of jonasl's V26 keyboard.
You can find a flashable version at this XDA post.
If you would prefer to not "flash" that zip, you can instead just unpack the zip file and just manually side-load the two .apk files inside the zip. ( Clicker.apk and HTC_IME_lo22.apk; I think you are supposed to install Clicker.apk first ). Note that you need to enable it after installation in Settings -> Language and keyboard
I don't think it is dangerous at all; but if you want to be safe make a Nandroid backup first.
bftb0
thanks man ill try it out
Check out gimpsta.com
You can design a custom HTC keyboard. I've made a dozen of them. Works really well with gsb1.9
Same kb as already recommended by bftb0, but make your own! (Select color theme). You will still need to add clicker.apk for calibration to work.
Select low res and the default v27 , 1.6+

[Q] Custom Fonts?

Does anyone know how to change the system font to a custom font on the Atrix? There is an app on the market called font changer but I'm not sure if it works. Has anyone tried it yet on the Atrix? If so, please post if it works or not. Thanks!
Gonna be home soon and I'll give font changer a try and post back
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Be careful - I don't know if it was just the font I used, but I tried a few days ago and used Verdana. Did a preview first and it looked good but when I clicked Apply it changed to half chinese characters! You have to uninstall using the app itself to get the system font back and that was a challenge because the app was almost all in chinese. But I got it back.
I'm assuming if you have root access and RootExplorer, you could just rename the font(s) you want to use DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf, and copy them into your /system/fonts folder. Or push them via ADB if you're familiar with the commands.
I used font installer and have had no issues so far.
From Me
Ok, I used font installer and it worked perfectly. I didn't try font changer though.
Type Fresh (in app market) works great if you are rooted!
Root tools by jrummy16 allows you to install fonts, change or even deactivate boot images and TONS of other handy things

Sory but I don't know how to upload a big size file on a thread :/ just download it from here www.mediafire.com/?vkwks6nnmqa3x8k (it tels mee, invalid file :/)
I just want to share to all interested people here in x8 forum for this ROM, i just tested it and I am very satisfied about this ROM!
This ROM is made or modified from a guy named Artoseven, and the best at this Rom is the real good looking framework(light blue and white,Similar like the custom X8), and the font of word's, he did a great job!
It is Android 2.2 miniCM
These ROM have overlocking installed on 710Mhz, and it's realy fast (I used befor ratch's RC2 2.3.3 rom)
everything it's working, camera(3mpx) video recorder(VGA), headphones, just everything
Arc Xperia launcher is set as default launcher, speed fix for accelerating the addition of speed miniCM sdcard, 3D weather widget clock and MIUI music palyer,
quadrant advaced are aplications that you have!
If anyone interested you can download it!
For new people on xda forum:
how to install:
1. after downloading ROMs above, copy it to sdcard / xrecovery / backup (do not change the name 2011-04-08.15.20.27 be another name)
2. x8 must have been installed xrecovery
2. from the menu choose the backup and restore xrecovery
3. choose the restore, then choose the ROM dg 2011-04-08.15.20.27 name
4. wait until the end
5. reboot
sory for my bad english! I hope you will understand me

Changes:
1. gradation color better than ever, so the black color is more concentrated
2. new-setting image
3. google applications more stable than before (depending on network)
4. OC still using 710Mhz because I feel more stable
5. fix speed speed + sd
6. arc launcher
7. Compass works and works well
8. honecomb wallpaper and the rest of the internal memory is around 208mb
9. using honeycomb theme that has been my modif
10. 5 asphalt fully working (although the screen kepotong)
how to install:
1. rename nexus be-x8 v2.zip update.zip
2. copy update.zip to sdcard
3. xrecovery select from the menu and wait until the end update.zip
4. after completion update.zip, select factory reset (full wipe) from xrecovery
5. reboot
6. enjoy ...
I have no wifi at home, you can test if market not work's you must update MarketUpdate.zip(see attachments) via Xercovery to fix it, or fix permision!
and I have upload Camera.apk from MIUI (I think that the look of camera wich we knows from miniCM is horrible)
My objection is that when i try to instal apk biger than 15Mb the phone stuck's and reboot, the sam problem was in Elelinux v2 ROM :/

it is really nice...which languages are included?
So... it's a miniCM port with changed fonts, in-box overclocking and some system apps changed?
I'd be interested in these fonts only, really, and perhaps this blueish UI, but with miniCM default status bar and icons Since I could install fonts myself, if I wasn't such a lazy-good-for-nothing for now I really dig this blue UI, like in the setCPU screenshot... how can I get one?

yes it's a miniCMport with changed fonts, in-box overclocking and some system apps changed status bar is not like the stock android 2.2, I realy don't know how the guy change's the font's (ask other developers to help you)i just install it via xrecovery, it's looking great
As I said, I know how to change fonts, I don't know how to change the UI exclusively. And I have sooo many things already installed on my miniCM that I wouldn't like to install another ROM, that has basically the very same functionality... But that blue icon background in setCPU looks awesome, could you contact the developer so he could tell us how to install such a look on normal, ponanovn's miniCM port?

How to get BLACK Notification Bar for Motorola Defy(Froyo 2.2) in the Simplest way?

How to get BLACK Notification Bar for the Motorola Defy(Official Froyo 2.2) in the Simplest way?
Is it possible to apply the Black bar in the simplest way without installing/using custom roms like CM7 or MIUI or flashing anytheme roms?
i very much want a Black or Best-a "Transparent" Notification Bar(if possible) ,but i dont know how?
is using metamorph & a spl theme the easiest way to install black status/notification bar?...if yes,plz tell me the correct procedure!
i am currently on official Indian Froyo 2.2 from Motorola & am quite happy with everything & dont want to install other roms! (also i find the installation process complicated & risky), except a Black or Best-a "Transparent" Notification Bar!
Can u experts tell me in the simplest way how to do it,(step by step if possible), how to achieve what i'm seeking?
I'm just a common noob!....reply & help me plz!
*btw, my defy is rooted !
TIA!
I think that the only way is to flash a ROM with black bar.
And transparent status bar isn't possible.
I recommend that you flash CM7.
No other replies...some alternative method of achieving Black status bar other than flashing custom roms?....i dont want to flash other roms..i'm happy with froyo 2.2,except the status bar which i want to be black coloured or transparent!
May be not directly answer your question,
but you can use some luancher that can HIDE the notification bar.
So yau can still use official froyo and no notification bar on the top of the screen.
Already doing that!... but i seriously thought black status bar could be at least possible on a froyo defy,w/o flashing any custom roms!...but i'm getting no lead to that!
current h.s w/o Statusbar
can use go launcher. there is an option to hide the bar

I'm not too sure, but I think the black bar is possible only on android 2.3.0 or later. Sure is possible do it on any rom, but you will have to edit the source of the rom, compile it again and flash it, so its more easy you flash a 2.3.x rom than put the black bar on your rom w/o flash it again (to not say impossible).

in cm7 you can use themes which have a black or a transparent Status bar.I think it's not possible to get a different status bar in Stockroms!

Thanks Friend for trying to help me out, & it would have been perfect solution for me, except that there r lot of problems with it,particularly clock as found by various users,..morever i'm NOT sure if it's for 2.1 or 2.2 ?...i allmost halfbricked my defy by installing a wrong theme under metamorph!
Sorry to say, but if you want a black bar, lose this fear of install a rom or give up from this ideia. All this have risk of brick. You start of play with it will ensure you to solve any problem after. If you install a wrong zip from metamorph on your rom, you will have to install a rom our lose much more. Install the titanium backup. Make the backup of everything and try a new rom.the risk of you brick your phone trying to put the black bar without change your android version is much bigger than just put a cm7, for example. Get the FAQ on dev section of how install the cm7 or ginger with motoblur. Read it well and do exactly how it say. Will be faster and easier than how are you trying.

other than of just the fear of bricking the phone,....i have the fear that Cm7 or miui are still half baked products with bugs here & there...,example.wifi will not work/ cause problem(i have NO data plans & completely dependent upon wifi) or camera will not work properly etc, etc. i still feel that for stability purpose with everything running properly, stock roms r the best!

Seriously you think stock is the best.... well I just flashed for the first time and used CM 7 RC 1 and I was delighted to see an almost 2x increase in my GPRS/Edge 2G speed almost instantaneously. On my stock 2.2.2 Froyo.... it was cr$p
^^ have u any Negative experience with working/using the wifi & also about camera on defy after updating to cm7?...i hear many ppls facing problems on those issues. So,i'm asking u, if u can give me a Honest answer?...also can u tell me ,why it is called Cm7 RC1(Release Candidate1)?...why are not they final yet..if they r just perfect?
I don't have any problems with camera on my green lents defy. I just don't have a way yet to make a video with 720p, and this you don't have with stock too. Out you have a red lent, you can do it. Its not a final version 'cause they still trying a way to put 720p on green yet and others little things. It get a final version just when the group of cm past to support the device (hard without unlocked bootloader).
All that you have on the stock I have on cm7, much faster by the way. And you don't have a clock on demand like us, cannot change your lock screen by free without a ads or a strange bug that I fold when I tried do it on a stock. You cannot change your status bar or what you have on it and even get a transparent effect when slide it. And by the way, none about multitouth by default. And since I have used a custom rom,i had, the luck, of not see anymore a force close windows (much common when I was on 2.1 w/ blur). But is your choose. But with metamorph, you install a zip as you was installing a rom out paths of it. Any wrong file, and your rom can be corrupted. With this, or you do a backup of the rom or lost ask.
Do whatever you choose, but first install the titanium backup a do a backup of whatever you have. With this, whatever problem you have, you will can restore your apps and the data from them.

Thanks for your quick response. Question arose in my mind is, how do i know my font is changed and also, how do i change my system font (like System date, default system fonts when we open settings and find options like wireless and networks, call settings, display and so on...and other things which is reflecting in old font format) using this new font installer....I have already rooted my phone thru superoneclick software.
Can you please tell how to reflash my ROM. I have not installed any Custom ROMs in my handset.
Thanks

To flash a new rom,
1. Download the rom file in.kdz format.
2. Download the kdz software by which you can flash your rom.
AS you are new to flagging rom, this is the easiest way you can go.
If you think the information is helpful to you, don't forget to click thanks.

The font changing is system wide. To really be aware of that, install for testing purposes a more unique font with odd characters and look for yourself that it has changed absolutely everywhere (contacts, phone, settings, messaging, browsers). After that you can install whatever font you want and know that it has already changed everywhere.

You are wrong at this point.
Kdz is only used for changing the default roms(or official roms).
If you want custom roms (modified rom based on official roms) then you must have recovery to flash them.
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Or you install recovery or oficial by the means you want or you just try more fonts because you use stock rom and not all fonts look good on stock but im sure there will be more than one that fits and that you will..
Now you advise a new user to fash a kdz just for have font back lol you are crazy

Just root phone instal rom manager from market install a recovery for p500 from rom manager app then i get you a zip of a oficial stock rom to flash by recovery or you flash one from forum but if you want flash the .kdz be my guest but then dont cry if you brick your phone.
Someone please tell him wich recovery is stable because i don use clockwork just instal a 5.x.x.x not a 6.x.x.x that is unstable.
