[Q] launchers - Optimus One, P500, V General

i dont like the app drawer of launcher pro...is there a way to change it..???..
i want to stick to launcher because of the widgets it has...is there such a launcher with better app drawer and supports folders??

what exactly dont you like? The scroll direction, size of icons, number of rows / colums? all of this is easily tweaked with launcher pro. It would help if you told us exactly what you do not like. I prefer ADW EX personally

Try Go Launcher EX from the market.

Agree! Go Dev Team is making new widgets too!

I'll quote myself from another post:
I've been using Go Launcher Ex for the past weeks and it's great.
It has some good features like a latest used apps' list, apps can be uninstalled by the click of your finger in app browser etc.
However, ADW Launcher / Ex has beautiful themes you can use.
Both ADW and Go launchers are stable on my P500.

different style icons on wife's Moto Droid 1?

Not sure if anyone here can help, but you guys are so helpful I thought I'd give it a shot. My wife likes the style of the icons for the iPhone apps, but definitely doesn't want an iPhone. Any way I can make the icons that show up in her app drawer have the iPhone look, possibly without rooting it?
(disclaimer- if mod's feel the need to delete, do so, just let me know)
I'm not sure how to make it show up in the app drawer, but it's definitely possible to make the icons show up on the home screen. And you can do it without root too.
First, download a launcher from the market called launcher pro. You don't need plus. The free version is fine.
Second, download your icons.
Third, press and hold on the homescreen until a pop up appears. Select shortcuts, then select applications. Choose your app, select custom icon, and then select your icon of choice from the folder your icons are located in when your gallery shows up.
Your app should appear with the custom icon on the homescreen now.
Hope that helps!

Yeah, she's using launcher pro now. I knew I could do that with the dock but didn't realize you could choose a custom icon for the shortcuts and also wasn't sure about the app drawer part. I may see if just changing what she sees on her homescreen will satisfy her. Any suggestions on iphone style icons?

I think that ADW Launcher themes can theme the drawer icons. If she is hesitant about changing Launchers, ADW Ex adds some of the Launcher Pro Features that the free ADW Launcher does not have (and also some that Launcher Pro doesn't have).

He's right and if I remember correctly there is even an ADW theme that changes the icons to look iphonish.
Sweet, I'll have to look into that. Is ADW just as smooth as Launcher Pro?

Currently, I would say that ADW might even be faster than LauncherPro. That wasn't always true. I use LauncherPro Plus, because I like the widgets, but I have been playing with ADW Ex recently and it seems very fast on my phone. The developer of LauncherPro is currently working on rebuilding it from scratch, so it might speed up in the future.

Why do all launchers squish the darn dock icons?

I've used ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro and both these launchers for some reason squish/reduce ALL the damn dock icons [even HD icons] down to ridiculous levels. It makes the dock look like a wack job put together by an 8 year old, it makes the dock look infinitely bad. I'm sick of this stupid n00by ****.
So are there any launchers who do NOT squeeze down the damn dock icons to insignificance? I just need the damn dock icons to LOOK like icons, not stupid friggin bastid icon childs.
How does Sweeter Home perform in this area, people?
Adw launcher has an option to pick how large the launcher icons are. It is in adw settings~ui settings~ main dock settings.

Yeah, I tried those, even then the icons go up only a certain bit and they STILL are way smaller.
Weird i dunno what to tell you it worked for me... mine are huge
I used to use Zeam launcher. I found it to be quite nice.
Not sure if it is available in the market or not. But you can certainly google it and find it.
Try adw ex that has the option to make the icons bigger or remove the dock completely and just use regular icons on its place
I just moved to FreeX10 beta 3 - let me try ADW EX / Zeam and i'll report back.

[Q] ICS Passion v11 App Drawer

How to change app drawer from horizontal pages to vertically oriented, using the default launcher? I used ADW before, but the default ICS launcher looks fine to me... for now
Also, there's how to increase the number of slots for shortcuts and widgets in home - in the default launcher too?

With stock Trebuchet launcher there really isnt a way, if i were you id look into alternate launchers like NOVA or APEX , i personally use apex though i dont see any options for vertical scrolling through the app drawer

How can i add more app button.

How can i add more app shortcuts on ics's quick place which is shown in the picture by red circle
Get a different launcher. I'm pretty sure both Apex Launcher and Nova Laucher support different dock pages.
He's Right

He's Right. In Nova Launcher you can go in settings->dock and change the number of icons like I have in my screen shot below.

Does anyone know how to change icon in go launcher? or is it only available in the go launcher ex version?
what do you guys suggest on a great launcher that can customize the icons that doesnt eat up alot of battery and ram but still can give enough room for customizing the feel and look

I think you are already using GO Launcher EX (which is totally free).
If you are referring to the icons in the dock, then to change the icon, just tap and hold then select "replace icon". You can also download GO Launcher themes and apply them to change the icons look and feel.
I think GO Launcher EX is a quite decent and fully customizable, but if you prefer launchers similar to stock ICS, then try Apex launcher (free).
I wouldn't worry at all about ram or performance, as Galaxy S3 is more than capable for such simple tasks.
I just downloaded a theme. Does anyone know where it is stored so that i can add my custom icons?
