well u can always flash the kernel (caveman's) with the link i posted above

Does data of phone wipes after flashing with custom kernel?
I've all things done made a custom recovery even. With 1.2 version even.anything else I need to do?

thanks!!!!!

is there any kernel which helps with battery life. I don't necessarily want a custom rom. any kernel which helps with battery life I would be interested. my rooted stock v.10c is running out of juice rather quickly and I am not yet using heavily. I am not too much into gaming or multimedia. 3g has to be on; as in my area 2g signal is worse than 3g.... go figure.
thanks
ash

i recommend u flash der_caveman's kernel and install and setup juice defender from market..I have done the same..Plus a tweaks like low brightness and powersave governor when screen is off(SetCPU) help

Hi all can i try flashing this kernel on my stock rom...This one seems nice..

The kernel with the smartest and cleanest code for any p500. atleast give it a try and u will know the difference xd.
im uploading here the legendary(LOL ) der cavermans v3 kernel.
use this if u got weird problems with any other kernels
Any specs about this kernel? Is this really suited to our O1?

Give me a reason why I should switch from franco's kernel to that
if u got weird camera flickers,

does this kernel also provide better battery life?
better still try this kernel its touchscreen code has been further optimised by sippolo ..wonder where those devs are these days..In the early days this O1 thread was nearly empty but devs were here..this kernel not just has a fix for touchscreen it also takes cares of axis inversion with a workaround ..i have been using this since day 1 no franco for me
can u oc with this kernel or is it a stability rom?

CAN YOU overclock your device with this kernel .. ,, I have the MIK kernel already there on my device now if i want to apply this kernel should i just go to custom recovery and .. straight away ..install this kernel ?? or should i clear the various caches as well ??
Please reply asap ..
go install straight away...u can clear cache and dalvik cache if u want before flashing xd
the kernel posted by Sarfaraz is not good the camera gives an error .. after i take a photo go to gallery and return .. will be trying the Caveman kernel .. now ..
That is why I chose to use caveman kernel in my phazer rom for 509. It is just stable.

how to get the UV mod for Wolf's rom to improve battery

Hi,
Can anyone tell how to get the UV mod for wolf's rom so as to improve the battery ?
I actually want to move back to the original rom but I want to give UV a try and then I will see if it works fine or not.
Will it be possible to remove the UV mod afterwards?
Here is what I did, I was on WB 4.0.3 with the custom kernel, I flashed the Back to Stock kernel fix:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zisvece37mbicec
and then the Undervolt patch:
http://www.mediafire.com/?amq979la9fvie7b
Seems to be working really well, great battery life!
Hope this helps, Just make sure you bakup first!
Hi,
the latest WB rom with custom kernel already has UV included.
Ralf
It may have been included, but the battery life sucked! I find it is much better with Stock kernel and the Undervolt patch

I am now thinking to repair the phone and go to the original software ... anyone know where to get the xloud and bravia addon for stock 2.3.3 ??
Did you go back to the Stock kernel and apply the undervolt patch? It is worth trying!

Best ROM/kernel combo to play games with?

Hi,
I'm looking for the best ROM/kernel combo to play games with right now. As of right now I'm using Oxygen ROM and the franco kernel 4. Most games run pretty smoothly but some games like flick quarterback don't. So does anyone know the best ROM/kernel combo to play games?

Your current combo is actually pretty good for playing games but you should try and install chainfire3D to help gaming performance

Even though its a good kernel, still doesn't beats franco.kernel smoothness, in fact i've never been able to achieve franco level smoothness with any other kernel except franco itself...
With franco i get "iphone" smoothness level on contacts and settings menues, and many apps, statusbar etc..

I was suggested to use ta-gb 1.1 + hotfix kernel (as bug-free and for good battery life) but I cannot find this specific version of the kernel. Could someone give me a link or upload it please so that I could give it a try?
Between the kernel I was suggested to use and the latest, which one do you think is better in terms of battery life and less bugs? And what is the difference between the two latest releases (10/4/2012 and 18/4/2012 <-What is this kernel)?
edit: This was the result after flashing the second one:

I think, t.a gb 1.1+hotfix is based on franco's touch drivers. I have used almost all kernels so far and I think at present Roq XIII with t.a touch drivers are the best in terms of smoothness, stability and battery. Use the conservative at 480/600. Even the t.a 1.1+hotfix is superbly smooth and has superb battery. But it has a bug that when after using gps the battery drains even if the gps is turned off. Franco kernel has multiple issues 1) Frequent reboots during calls 2) Cameranot working after first use...and many other issues.
Roq xIII with t.a touchfix is as smooth as the iphone. Only thing is you have to tweak some settings on the cynogen power menu, spareparts+ and blade buddy I also moved the default launcher (Go Launcher) to my /system/apps to have the smoothness I get now. Smoothnesss cannot come just by installing the kernel. You have to tweak settings...
pradipsoman could you please verify if the kernel that you uploaded here is the 1.1 you are suggesting? The filename is v1.2 but I have to ask because it could just be a typo. What is your experience on the current version of thunder-vn? Do you still think the older 1.1 version of thunder-vn is better than the current one and why? offtopic: One more think, is Roq xIII as good as described on stock 2.3 rom? Or is it one of those kernels made for custom roms?
@ thachtunganh So what happened to my device (stock 2.3)? Are these drivers meant to be used on ics based roms?

It's too soon for your second question to be answered. It's been a few hours since the kernel was released. If you give it a try there will be one more tester to give feedback.

I think you can now use Thundervn Latest Release from TA Have tested it and now it does not have the wifi bug (only bug that t.a 1.1+hotfix had). It is smooth as butter and has excellent battery. Lets experiment further...
I'm testing it too. I'm satisfied by the smoothness too but how did you make a conclusion that soon about the battery life and the lack of gps bug?

Try to use franco kernel conservative or roq kernel with thachtungahn ts drivers
http://www.mioptimusone.com/foros/showthread.php?tid=646
In my opinion, roq kernels are very good!
If you want more performances, try pp kernel
http://perfectpeso.x.gg/
It's quite good too, maybe a bit less battery friendly
Of course, tin order to increase performances, you have to flash some tweaks, you can find them here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529777
I guess u can try something like a modified stock version.
Ex: Resurrection, Optimus1 origins etc,,, which not only give you better battery life but also the feel of a custom ROM. I personally like the Optimus1 Origins 2.1 version as it is quite stable.
Sooner or later, everyone should realize that no rom is perfect as the definition of perfect varies for everyone. With that being said, a stock rom (or a slightly modded one) would be very suitable.

use openoptimus rom by bytecode.Best custom rom based on stock.
Best Rom for Battery Life?
The Talhos Rom GTR is the best so far, anyone think the same?
Tested many kernels......
I have tested many kernels and stock based roms......
I think Dynamite 4.5G and ta-gb 1.2 is the best combination...
Also DjNoxd kernel works well....
Franco kernel gives gr8 battery life.....but has bugs like random boots and storage card not detecting wen exit frm mass storage mode.....(can use if u want battery and have wifi to exchange files)
RoQ kernel is gr8 performance but battery life is not that good....(gr8 for gaming)
I recommend dynamite bcoz it is already tweaked and camera n other stock apps work gr8....

That's why I use Optimus Origins 2.0 version (sorry as I said 2.1 earlier by mistake) The latest update has that force close bug but the 2.0 is pretty smooth. And regarding APN, you just need to send a message to your operator in order to get the apn settings and once you get it, you can back it up for future use.
I use Optimus Origins 2.0 with the ICS theme (created for Dynamite) and I can't ask for more
+1 for Dynamic rom 4.5G. The battery life so good.
