[Q] how to get/buy games gameloft. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

there are not very many games available for sgs 2. only few gameloft games are compatible. i am trying to buy games off of gameloft .com but it does not have sgs 2 on its device database.has any one managed to buy games from gameloft.com?

Well, sadly, the only way to get gameloft games is through their site, some games are available through the market though (https://market.android.com/developer?pub=Gameloft)

Best way is to contact them then (if they reply...)
Also note my edit in my first post

You can download the trial versions of Gameloft games from Game Hub, so I'm surprised it's not listed as an option on their website.
You can get them charged on your phone bill though, if you go through Game Hub.

It has no lag
The game feels like black ops.
Get it now!
Oh yeah did i forget it has MULTIPLAYER where u can add friends join them etc.
Edit
Its not in market u have to buy from gamelofts website
try splinter cell nice graphics tooo !
Guys there is a gameloft special right now. Visit their website, while on 3g (not wifi) and you will see their weely special banner at the top of their website. Their special right now is buy 1 get 1 free. I got black pegasus and spiderman for 5 bucks total. I'm debating getting 2 more.
I agree black pegasus is awesome. So awesome in fact that I haven't even tried spiderman. Spiderman has gotten some great reviews so i'm sure its good as well.
Another +1 for MC2 here. I read a review somewhere that said "If you have a Galaxy S phone and have any interest in first person shooters you owe it to yourself to pick up this game."
That was all I needed to hear. Well worth $5.
Dammit... (Do not support Gameloft via gameloft.com- unfair practices)
Now I remember why I don't like gameloft games. Unlike games from the android market it won't run on both of my phones which is okay I suppose. Luckily I downloaded it on my vibrant and not on my DX. Not only that but if you ever reinstall it, the game wont work (titanium may work - will have to test). I am not for piracy at all, however when I buy a game on the xbox, I can use that game on any xbox however many times I want to play it or install it because I now own it. The same unfortunately cannot be said for gameloft games. It's as though they're begging people to pirate their crap.
B.S. I say!

Yeah, basically all of them are cracked already. MC 2 is easily my fav game for phone tho. gameloft surpasses everyone in the quality dept as far as I'm concerned.

Are you guys getting these through the market or do you have to go on their website?
They are purchased through the gameloft site, not the market
However, keep a copy of the downloaded files. I did a factory reset and the web site doesn't list them as part of my downloads. Best to buy games from the market, I guess. Gameloft wants a bit more info than my time is worth, or no doubt I could get it fixed.

Since they don't have an option for AT&T, what carrier do you select when you buy the game from the web site? Or does it matter? thanks
@NFHimself modern combat doesnt work from me, i got a link from the gameloft supoort service, since the game just closes after i skip the video
Bought black pegasus from website. Worked for me. Modern combats in the market now

Also noticed on the website half the time it says my phone not supported and the rest of time list a few games. Im rooted also not sure if that matters at website but needed to sideload the downloads from website.

they send me aother link, that one worked ^^
Modern Combat 2: Black Pegusus works great on my Atrix. Waiting for N.O.V.A. 2 to be released for it.

After messing with me phone a bit, the whole re download part of gameloft is screwy for my purchases, I don't know what firmware I bought what with, and the site detects your phone to determine what games you are allowed to get. Not sure if it's all Gameloft's fault since they had a 2 for 1 sale on 3 games that I used twice, so the site kept telling me to download a free game I already had installed, they them updated the website. Also Nova refuses to download content, support sent me a link for a new download, no diff. I lost let's golf 2 altogether, support ignores me on that one. Annoying, I would stay away from any games that are not from the market if you are into changing firmware/themes/wallpaper/display brightness, OK, maybe not the last 2. And backup whatever you get, however restoring the data doesn't guarantee that the game will use it. It's hit or miss with Gameloft. Makes me want to go to pirate bay to get copies of my purchased games. Not that I have been playing any of them lately, lol.
The NVIDIA pinball game is interesting, paper 3d glasses support.
Cheers!
Ok i am a little confused here. When i got to the site on my phone it says it isnt supported. When i go through the browser, there arent any ATT phones listed ( i assume its because they block sideloading). Can i just choose tmobile, download the apk, sideload it on my phone, and it work? Really wanting dungeon hunter 2. Has anyone had success w/ downloading from the above method?
hi im new here (been creeping as anonymous for a week now lol)
Might anyone have experience with gameloft apk files working on the atrix?
I use sideload wonder machine to install them to my phone
but they all require additional download when i open the app
that usually fails (dungeon hunter 2, eternal legacy, nova)
or it completes and then theres missing pictures all over, like white and the game crashes after a bit.
ive found some files that contains both the apk and a zip folder.
im assuming the zip is for the "additional download" but i have no idea how to install them.
solutions anyone?

lol, i used SWM too. works awesomely.
umm, also had the install freeze glitch. it only freezes when your phone goes into sleep mode or when you try to multitask while its installing.
solution is to go into settings, disable the screen timeout so the screen doesnt turn off (and so your phone doesnt autosleep) and just leave your phone plugged into the wall socket while downloading over wifi. worked for me.
currently trying gt racing. it looks good, but lots of jaggies. antialiasing would be nice, but given our atrix's higher resolution, i dont think it would have enough grunt to run AA (ignoring the fact that tegra 2 doesnt seem to do AA).
sadly, the only way i have found to get any games working is through mobilism (bad word?). i guess if they want my money, they'll open up to att now that the 3rd party sources is open. or is that when official 2.3.4 comes out? idk, it's whatever, the atrix has a very limited amount of gameloft choices anyways. they probably have versions for our phones, but the atrix is kinda unique in it's design. does anybody else know of a non-att, qvga, tegra device? when one does land or maybe when ginger lands officially we'll get versions for our phone made available.
Asphalt 6 runs very well. And dungeon hunter 2 works too. I've bought Nova too once but I gave up the idea of installing it because the gameloft's politic on purchases sucks.
And I much prefer my emulators! I have a bunch of em working smoothly you should try fpse, it's great!

Johansson,
how did you get Asphal 6 to run? When i tried installing the tree's are black. In 3D terms alpha channels in textures aren't rendered correctly. =\
Which version of dungeon hunter did you use?

Gameloft games question

Hello I have an xperia play and bought some games on Gameloft. So just wandering if it's possible to transfer the same games to use on my galaxy, or I have to purchase the games again.? Also its not very clear which games actually work on the galaxy, the game hub only has a phew games that cannot be it surely.?
I'm probably not qualified to answer this, but I'll give it a stab - assuming you brought them through the Android Market, they're associated with your Google account and you can install them on other devices without having to re-purchase them.
Simply add your Google account to the new phone, go to the "My Apps" page and you find them in your list of Purchased but not installed software.

Gameloft are greedy. The games are imei locked and device specific. So you need to wait for sgs2 compatible games, and repurchase them afaik
I don't approve of their business model, so I simply don't buy or use Gameloft games. They could put games on market, but they would only sell it once per person...
I think it's that greed that forces piracy to prosper honestly I don't support piracy but imagine i already paid over 25 £ to Gameloft and they now want me to pay another 25£ imagine. No wander why the iphone itunes model is much better and android is way to fragmented.

I wouldn't necessarily blame this on android fragmentation..
I'd point the finger more towards the greedy companies, like gameloft, for making their games in such a way that it encourages "fragmentation".
I mean half the arguments against Android are actually based on the companies that provide apps and software, not the android platform itself...
Just my two cents.
Back on topic:
But you gotta admit, gameloft games are pretty damn good.. if not a bit overpriced due to the incompatibility issues..

If you e-mail them they will usually just send you the correct version for your new phone, their customer service is usually pretty good, I've never had to buy the same game again for another device, at least not yet.

There are no versions available via the website and GT-i9100 is not listed yet, you can currently only get them via the Games Hub and some of them look like cut down versions of the games, blocky textures and poor draw distance.
Hi
I bought over 15 gameloft games for my Galaxy S1. I have got now S2 and NONE of those I bought work ( I always save original donwloaded .apk) I emailed gameloft saying as well I can't even access their site as I'm getting NOT RECOGNIZED warning so as soon as I got update I will post it here.

It uses a different GPU to the Galaxy S so it's not likely to work, they will have to release versions for the Galaxy S2, once they do they will probably send you the updated apks if you tell them you changed your phone.
It's a shame Samsung didn't choose to go with the latest PowerVR GPU as that would have made things allot easier, Mali 400MP in the Galaxy S2 does not support some texture compression formats some developers are using so that will also cause problems.
Of course if they just stuck to the OpenGL ES 2.0 specs to start with we wouldn't have this problem.
Hi and thanks a lot for explanation. It is real shame and I hope this amazing phone won't be suffering of too many uncompatible games as that would damaged it's great potential. It is fast like a wind and I can't wait for some polished custom roms like last Darky's 10.6 by which I was really impressed on my Galaxy 1

Thanks Miami Vindication seems to work
Can tell you NOVA 2 and Backstab don't work, not that I got a chance to try them, Market won't let me download them, and gameloft them self were fairly unhelpful when I emailed them asking if I can try them anyway.
Got a generic reply first, when I replied saying it wasn't what I meant they refunded me without even asking lol
Surely some driver fiddling would make them work though?
I've seen user modified apks that make the game run on tegra ( if you trust the sources anyway)

It seems that what you need is: Chainfire3D
Also, you need the OpenGL plugins for each platform: Qualcomm, PowerVR
Or you can wait / search for the modified apks.
NOTE: I didn't actually test Chainfire3D app myself with some Gameloft games.
This NOVA 2 works perfect! I instaled it yesterday!

Hi... When I download Gameloft HD games for my Vega, I'm searching for the version for the first version of Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000. I has the same screen resolution as the Vega.

Gameloft Games

I've seen a few videos of gameloft games like Brothers in Arms and nova running on the Galaxy S2, so I figured they should run on here our device no problem. But I tried to go onto the website and am not able to get the games. Does anyone know why or how I can purchase them?
I bought nova 2 on my inspire and when i got my gs2 I couldn't download them again and contacted their customer service and they emailed me the apk for nova 2 but Backstab def doesn't have a apk yet.

All the Gameloft games are compatible with our i777 phones.
I have em all.
You can have them all too by learning about torrrents
and how to use them.
(but this public forum is not the right place to learn about it.)
