Thats it, cool, isn't it?
It has ARM support, so i thought we could try it
I read at Microsoft Page that everybody is allowed to develop his own version of Windows Compact 7 (Open-Source)
It has even Usb-Host support!
You can read it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/de-de/products/windowsce/compact7.mspx
I can't do this, i dont be a developer, but i just want to know how you guys thinking about this and maybe a developer could take a look at this..
Greetings,
Lennb

I'm sure this all can be replicated in a home replacement app.

That wasnt my question
I know that this design can be maked in an Launcher but the other features of Windows Compact 7 does look too

What do you want/need from that? (it's not compatible with Windows desktop apps, none of the windows apps could work)

I know, but maybe in the future there's an app market for that
Its a pretty young project, but it got my heart
Joking^^ But its very pretty and Microsoft made (nearly) just good OS's
Edit: Apparently theres an "App Market/Store" (Look at the Picture i've posted)

I started playing with this a few weeks ago. Put together an initial test NK.bin using the SDK for a cortex A8, but could not find anyway to get the archos SDE to boot the nk.bin. if someone knows how to do this I would love to play with this a little more, unfortunately I know a lot about windowsce software, but very little about boot loaders.

Is it possible for us to have those shiny panels on android?
Then we can place icons/shortcut on top of it to make them stand out?
*Note*
I remembered i could do that thing with window mobile phones
Seems like nobody knows the answer to this, please share knowledge if you have an idea
if those are just png files in android then I'm pretty sure you can but you or someone would have to make them look like that as in coloring the old image file from whatever apk those apply to then reload the edited apk back onto your android phone. So I'm saying yes with a more experienced package creator. I myself have been doing my own editing and picture creating, just haven't figured out how to properly compact the apk yet.

Android Creators/developers/etc... look to look into something like this
So we can make the home screen icons look even more stand out with the shade/shiny panels...
The original screen is still cool but it a bit plain to my opinion

Disable Camera, WiFi, and BT

Ok guys I just got tasked with something major.
My shop has been approved to buy tablets to hold our tech data to work on equipment. The only issue is they cannot have camera access, wifi access or bluetooth. This is just to insure that people dont end up bringing them home, loading a bunch of games on it and bringing it back to work. Its strictly going to be for PDF files and Pictures of configuration stuff. I was wondering if there was a Device administrator apk out there where I can just select these options to disable. If not, I am willing to PayPal someone some beer money if they can help me out with this. I know my way around android as with rooting and what not, but when it comes to dev I am completely clueless. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be awesome, thank you.
This may work.
If you can't find it in the Play Store, I can attach an APK for you. But basically this allows you to disable most features of a phone/tablet to prevent kids from using a certain feature, but I'm guessing it can be used here too.

Ubuntu is a complete OS, and NOT Android, so i don't think Unity launcher will work by just copying it. Someone would have to write something that works and looks like Unity Launcher specifically for Android. Maybe you could check the general Android Development section to see if someone is doing something like that.

This simple classic was packed in a new guise.
A game that is absolutely easy to understand and to play.
You but once started it, so you want to stop no longer to play it.
Absolute risk of addiction!
The game was developed using c# as a Windows universal app and is available for Windows 8.1 and Windows phone 8.1.
If necessary, I will develop this game also on Android.
Could a good start be.

Nice relaxing app! It will be well to add more animations.
How you made it? Clean XAML or MonoGame or Unity3D?
simple to relax
Hi,
sorry for the late answer.
I have create that app as an universal runtime app.
It is available on Windows 8.1 to.
The app is really simple.
I try here to work with big classes, so one heart with all his Animation is one class.
The main page creates and manage all hearts.
All that is running in a simple Loop.
I had create the complete app in 2 days.
In short time I create an sacond one, withe Gems.
That one supports all display formats.
Also I try to create an online leader board.

Nice, we are making windows phone apps too, did you use unity3d or other frameworks?
I will download so i can have get some ideas :3
I'm agree. Totally relaxing!
wow, what kind of game is this, i have never see such type of game ever

What do you want to see made first? A package installer or an app launcher?

Poll is at the top of the thread. I've looked at the UWP classes and realised that these two projects are possible. I'm not sure which one I'd like to start first though so I'm leaving it up to you guys to decide. Do you want to see a package installer or app launcher for Windows 10 Mobile first?
P.S. After the app launcher is made, maybe we could replace the start screen completely?
(They will work on Desktops too but these projects make more sense being for phones only).
Poll has been added now. Sorry, forgot to add it earlier. Now you can vote!

Background tasks are still super limited though. Even with restricted/special capabilities being used. Sorry it just wouldn't be as good as the one on Android :'(
Well the majority voted for an app launcher so that's what I'm going to do. I'm also working on an app store if you haven't seen it already: https://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-10-mobile/creating-party-windows-10-store-t3640719
It's pretty much your standard home screen. Nothing super revolutionary, well not yet anyway...

Until Windows 10 Mobile gets cracked open completely, those apps aren't going to be made any time soon.
I actually got it to work!
Here is a GIF of the app launcher in action: https://i.imgur.com/wOEckrK.gifv
Well I've basically finished the App Launcher. (Link to thread about it is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...d-games/uwp-app-launcher-source-code-t3667562).
Next up is the package installer

I appreciate the hustle but please make a new thread about this. What you're saying has nothing to do with the original topic but I'll look into it anyway.
