Umm they did...
So what about GingerBreak? Isn't that supposed to be able to root the SGS2? No. GingerBreak was able to root a number of engineering samples of the SGS2, but it does NOT work on retail devices.

Universal Root vs X10 Root.

Hi all, I rooted my X10 with Universal Root and then came across X10 Root. Is there a difference between these two and should I re-root using X10 root?
Thanks Much.

the X10root version i have installed on my phone only has the options to root and exit, which is the reason i switch to universal androot to unroot.

Which version / where did you get your version from. Been looking and can't seem to find one that has the 'unroot' option. A link or something would be great,
Cheers

[Q] [APP] Problem z4root ??? Please help me.

Hello everyone,
this is my first post. I have a galaxy 3 eclair 2.1 Update1. I did the root with z4root and I acquired the privilege to administrator. However, the app and link2sd sd Increasing do not work. The latter says that "can not access the file". I also installed root and check tells me I have the privileged. What's wrong? z4root working properly? Please help me. Thanks.

Reading comprehension grade: not good.
OP was asking for a root method that DOES NOT require a PC. Both of these require a PC.

I have 2.3.4 Firmware.
This link should help. Since you have 2.3.4 you probably have to downgrade but check in the instructions just to make sure. Follow the instructions very carefully and you should be ok. Good luck http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_G2

I don't think that there is a "one click root" for atrix 4g. this thread should point you in the right direction.

Agreed, I've used it, but I didn't think it was called "one click root" as it is for other devices.
Atrix Head
well, basically u have only to connect the phone through usb, and click root. So it's one click and root xD

Pete's Root Tools don't work on 2.3.6.
You could try the motofail method. It can be found HERE. It didn't work for me, but you may get lucky.
The only method that worked for me was the preinstall method. You can find that HERE.
