I have been searching around trying to find a way to get some of the older Android 2.1 Galaxy S LWP's to work on the Atrix. Particularly the Ocean Waves with the ripple effect.
For some reason these LWP's don't actually manage to load or for that matter get past the "Loading Live Wallpaper" screen.
From a bit of searching around it looks like a few things are wrong or just not optimized for our phone. Either the resolutions are all wrong or the Atrix is missing some library files to make things happen, maybe the "libmnglw-0.8.2.so" and the "liblwfa-0.A.2-mng-p1.so". I'm pretty sure the need to be pushed to the system/lib folder.
I have attached all I have from some searching the web trying to get answers, and was wondering if someone might have the time to look through them and find out why they may not be working on the phone? The library files are in the "Live Wallpapers.zip". I have attached a little test try that i attempted to put together hoping to figure this out "TestOceanWaves.apk". A crude effort at changing the image resolution and some resolutions in the files themselves. The rest is just apk's to pull data from.
I did manage to get the lib files into the correct directors and changed the permissions to match the files in that directory but so far a no go. Hopefully someone might be able to find the time to use software I most likely don't have to play with these and get something working. Fingers crossed. From a little bit of research these might actually be sought after on the Atrix
Thanks for any and all help.

I stumbled across this thread

about a music visualizer similar to milkdrop on the droid x. The OP states that it reacts to any media played. Is this something that could be ported to the Vibrant?
Its prolly just a APK that can be installed or pushed without any porting needed
Test and find out
It appears at least one other person has tried bringing it to another phone (G2), but it sounds like its alot more complicated than a single apk since its embedded into the stock music player.

I guess I'll just wait and see if someone can figure it out.
Seems like trying to port this visulization is dead been a few weeks haven't heard I thing fromanyone and the guy who started the milkdrop project said he isn't working on it anymore. I tried countless times to port it by pushing system files and just ended up temp bricking my phone. I need to find someone who is interested in the project and knows how to open and edit apks.
Hey guys, got a quick question. I am new to the HTC Rezound, but not to Android in general. I am coming over from the D2G, and was wondering if I can use either Ninjamorph, or an app like it, the same way I would use it on the D2G. My goal is to change apk icons, so I can basically create the exact look and feel I want. I have read around that you can do it on a computer, but computer usage is few and far between for me.
So basically what my end goal would be is to find an image, download it to my phone, use some sort of app, and be able to alter the properties of the .apk file I am working with, so that I can change the icon thats displayed in my app drawer. Not sure if that makes sense.
I have tried to look around, and I haven't found anything saying whether this will or will not work on the Rezound, so if this has been posted elsewhere, I apologize, please just link me over.
Thanks for your help in advance!

I am also wondering if Ninjamorph or Metamorph work with the Rezound. I too am coming from a Motorola device, DX. There was another post on here asking about changing notification bar icons and I posted the question at the end of that thread. Hopefully someone has an answer
I had a d2g as well before upgrading to resound. I believe you can use ninjamorph/metamorph. Atleast to decompile/recompile the .apk. I have changed some .pngs in systemui.apk but what I did was extract all with rootexplorer, make my changes, zip it back together then rename the .zip to .apk. it worked like a charm.

Hello. I recently got into making themes a little bit, and wanted to begin making them myself, I was wondering if someone could point me to a guide or shoot me some advice about a few things: first, obviously, the programs I would need and how to set them up. A good place to learn about theming sold, and how to sign them if need be. Also if anyone out there has any information on boot animations, specifically regarding limitations (ie length, fps, amount of jpg files). I'm looking for information on modifying status bar icons and notification icons. I have found that the programs/files I use now are very disorganized and sometimes hard to find. I was hoping another themer out there could help me organize, maybe send screens of how your files are setup. If it matters I was hoping to start device specific (HTC ReZound) for now and once I got the hang of things move in up. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, Ive gotten my feet wet but I'm still a noob. Thanks in advance

I have been around the Android game for quite some time. More of an enthusiast per se. I have reached a point where I want to give back to the community. I have gained a pretty good knowledge of the inner workings of Android and have an advanced understanding of PCs. I am just trying to start of small and advance progressively from there. Looking for someone that doesnt care to answer a few questions I am having.
I want to start by porting themes to my current device, Epic Touch 4G. We haven't received official ICS as of yet but we have quite a few leaks and ports. I figure if I learn enough now, when we receive our official release, I can give back. Now, I know porting a theme isnt considered true dev work but it is a start. If I can gain enough knowledge porting, I hope to physically start making my own themes.
As it stands right now, I have successfully learned how to decompile/recompile apks. And that is where things have gotten tough. I cant seem to implement the ported theme without creating a bootloop. Just not sure what the problem could be. The theme I am trying to port is capable of being flashed to my device and works but when I try to actually take the themed items from the flashable zip and directly implement them into the rom, it bootloops. It may just be something simple I am overlooking but after speaking to a few people, I still havent come to a conclusion.
So far I have tried taking the theme zip and pull the themed apks from it using 7zip, then copying them over into the rom.
Then I tried decompiling the themed apk, decompiling the stock apk and then moving the files from the themed apk over to the stock apk and then recompile.
I even tried just moving the individual pngs from each seperate folder over and then recompiling.
All created the bootloop.
So in closing, I have the ability and learn quickly, just need a push in the right direction. If you are interested in assisting me, it would be much appreciated.
Not sure if this is the right forum but,
Ok, so I have the app. Paid someone to do it, and they have given up I guess on getting the screens to show properly. Basically I am having problems with the displays on RAZR and other large screen phones for my app. everything works fine, just in some screens banner ads overlap info boxes, other screens look perfect, and yet others the centering in all skewed. I just need someone to help get these small glitches worked out, as I know nothing about how or where screen resolution is set. If interested in helping me PM and we can work something out. I am clueless as to what to do.. and of course the boss has the RAZR
