| PLEASE HELP |
i am a nooob in this.

You need to install flashtool and in the directory it creates on your computer is where the firmwares folder is. That's where you put the .ftf files for BBs and FWs. If all you want to change is baseband than you dont need to DL firmware too but you should upgrade to 2.1.A.0.435 FW before you change the BB and if you are going to go to .55 you might as well go .58.

No the firmware folder isnt a actual firmware. .When you flash the basebrand you have to flash it via flashtool which is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10738467
When you download flashtool you need to put the basebrand FTF folder into the "firmwares" folder in the flashtool. Run the flashtool and flash the basebrand and there you go. Theres a guide on how to to it properly if you dont know how. It's simple =)

but bb 58 is for x10i , while mine is x10a, the highest available for this was 55.
thats why i was going for it.. please correct me if im wrong

i have the rom, its good n stable. thankyou all for support and help
though i was BADLY STUCK in btwn , i had installed bb 54 and not the custom rom . and i was crying because i wasnt getting radio or wifi !
then suddenly GOD came to me and said : try installing the rom xD lol
i got the wifi and the radio it works n looks awsome !

There is no difference in using x10i BBs on x10a. Your hardware isnt going to change, it just changes your phone info to x10i. I have an x10a but have used many x10i BBs and there is no difference in phone capabilities or compatibilities.

is there any way i can go back to my stock 2.1 ?
do i have to change my bb back to 46 frm 54 to run that ?
because my stock 2.1 wasnt catching radio signals on bb 54

Use flashtool again and flash the se firmware of the baseband you want.

also, im having problems with opening contacts.
the process infinite.view crashes every time i ty to open a contact :\

another small doubt. if i want to flash Stock se rom , il download n install the zip using xrecovery . but will it also change my bb ? because currently im on 54, my stock bb was 46,
i wasnt getting radio signals with Stock se rom + bb 54 .
then i put custom rom and i got the signals + wifi working
To install and use Stock se rom , do i have to put bb46 back ? or the stock rom will already have the required BB in it ?
sorry for noobness.

BBs can only be flashed, not installed thru recovery.

The first thing you need to do is to upgrade your baseband to the latest firmware possible (Bluespark uses the 2.1.A.0.435). Next is rooting your phone to enable you to install custom ROMS, install xRecovery and you are good to go.

[Q] How to change the firmware/baseband?

Hi there,
Please don't freak out on me for not perusing the posts. I have and unfortunately I couldn't find the post I was originally looking for (I saw it there a few months ago, book marked it, but lost it after an HDD crash - I now know the value of Xmark sync).
A few months ago I flashed my phone to a simple generic 2.1 firmware. Nothing fancy. Since doing so I've had some weird issues where some apps fail to work now, even the Weather Network's widget fails to launch. Weird, frequent random FCCs, etc.
My phone is an X10a, and was upgraded to:
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 2.1.54
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: 2.1.A.0.435
The issue i have is that after the upgrade, it changed my language from English to spanish I think, and it purged all the info regarding the Mobile Network Settings (APN's, Voicemail settings, etc).
Because of these issues, I would like to re-flash my phone with SEUS but to the ENGLISH Generic. If I can't do that I would like to flash it back to the Rogers firmware if possible.
Is there a way for me to do so easily?
I remember that there was a guide on the forum that talked about editing a few files using a program from the Market in order, with root access, in order to change the country code information that the phone is currently using, so that using SEUS will force the phone to download a different firmware. But I have come up empty on my search. Or maybe it was a really weird dream lol
Have you tried the SEUS to get back the original Rogers firmware image? I messed up my phone a few times and the SEUS was always able to restore the default Rogers image.
Use the flashtool to flash global generic .435 FW and select your location and language when you do your initial setup. Search the Dev forum for the Flashtool thread by Androxyde. Flashtool is also how you flash the BB of your choice.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Thats the link to the flashtool. The FW links are in that thread too. If you want a different BB independent of the FW there's a thread with a collection of all available BBs in the Dev forum.

robotfoodisgood: Using SEUS installs the firmware for what ever region the phone has been coded to use. When I attempt to use SEUS, the language becomes Spanish, and all the settings dealing with Voicemail, APN, and Network get purged. I used Titanium backup prior to performing this flash. When I realized that my settings were gone, I re-downloaded it from the Market and restored my settings. I'm not sure if its an incompatible setting was introduced during the restore process that has caused my phone to act the way it has.
CMoney87: I will give that a shot. Hopefully this will fix the issue. I was originally planing on upgrading to one of the Gingerbread firmwares. After hearing that Sony was going to release a 2.3.3 firmware of their own - however fairly stripped (from what I've read - no live wallpaper, no HD camera, no face tracking, mediascape, etc). If that is the case I don't see the need to wait for a few more months in order to get Gingerbread, there are already better rom's already available for us to use.
Global Generic

Are the Global Generic sin files the same as the Generic ftf files? If not the sin files are no longer available for download it seems. In either case I'm about to try the Global Generic ftf file for my phone. Hopefully this works Fingers and toes crossed! LOL
[EDIT]
Before flashing to the Generic I did a bit more searching and fell apon this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9200597&postcount=22
this allowed me to fully restore it back to the Rogers firmware. After performing the SEUS update my settings are as follows:
Model: X10a
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 2.1.55
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number 2.1.1.A.0.6
I still fully plan on flashing the Generic firmware (probably tomorrow after church and a visit to the in-laws), but was wondering if it would be beneficial to backup the firmware and baseband, and perhaps posting it somewhere for others to use should someone want to restore their phone to that of a Rogers firmware should issues arise?
Before flashing to the Generic Firmware, I'll root the phone and use Titanium Backup to backup the current settings so that should the Generic firmware not retrieve the APN and voicemail setting information from Rogers, that I can restore it easily enough.
Sure, you can always just put the backup on a PC too if you wont be using it for a while and dont have the room on your SD. Just dont rename it.

[Q] - [RESOLVED] - Went from U20a Model to U20i on Build 2.1.1.A.06 with Baseband....

EDIT!!::::
Ok so First of my x10 mini pro was default and its model was U20a, its Build was 2.0.A.0.504 and the baseband was 06...
I then tried bits and peices of things and finally managed to change the model to U20i and have the build change to 2.1.1.A.06 and have the same baseband by using a custom downloaded backup file through xrec...
i couldnt figure out how to get the baseband to XXXXXXX015 so i tested my luck on the flasher that was here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
So after a few tries it works
----
will report bugs and problems soon....

Ok So.
Here is the story, i am trying to get my x10 Mini Pro to run this here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051678
It is the ROM called: [ROM] Cyanogen Froyo - CM6 latest sources (Version 2.1) fast and stable + Dual Touch
Ok so i know i need to get my baseband to end with 015 so here is my information.
Model Number: U20a
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
Kernel Version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
Build Number: 2.0.A.0.504
So i tried using SEUS to get my version to be 2.1.1.A.06 so my baseband would be xxxxx015
BUT when i tried updating it said that there is no available updates and that my x10 mini pro is up to date...
Also i live in Queensland in Australia...
---
So how do i manage to get the ROM to run for me if i can not update/flash to that baseband/build... i have tried to follow this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040149
But i can not get the flasher to be downloaded, it seems the link is broken of the download has been removed...
If anyone could give me something to work with here, even just ideas and or tips i would be happy, atm i am testing to restore using a 2.1.1.A.06 Build Version Backup... Its working so far, havent rebooted yet...
Ok i had that backup finish, and i am at 2.1.1.A.06 now but my baseband is still the same... *beep* (cursing under breath xD)
Cant find a damn sure fire way to flash the correct baseband... maybe i can find a way for a U20i model version since the previous backup which used the 2.1.1.A.06 build....
Going on a search to see if its easier to flash the 015 baseband
Ok cant seem to find anyway to get the correct baseband version flashed over my model is now U20i, the Build is 2.1.1.A.06 but the baseband is still Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
I guess that restoring from a restore save wont change the baseband version maybe... but im not sure... my default is stil u20a and is still 2.0.A.0.504
I hate not knowing what to do lolxD
So I have not had any luck in figuring out what to do about my baseband problem but i was playing around with the restore from the custom backup and i found 2.1.1.A.06 to be faster and more responsive than 2.0.A.0.504...
Just about to fix up a personal save of that custom so i have my default and the custom.
Now to wait for someone to help... All i need is to be able to get the Baseband version:M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 onto my x10 mini pro, instead of its M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006...
So for you guys again, my baseband is M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006 for my 2.0.A.0.504 backup and is also M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006 for the new 2.1.1.A.06 custom backup. For the 2.0.A.0.504 which is my default build number for my default backup, the Model is U20a...
For my custom the Model is shown as U20i.
I have a U20i_2.1.1.A.06_Baseband etc etc file from someone on xda which is as a 7z file and i have no clue what to do now... help plz.......
X10 Mini Pro 2.1 incl. Flashtool
or
[FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies
Ok so i now i have the rom running fine i think on my x10 which was default with the settings firstly stated, i then used a custom back up of 2.1.1.A.06 which gave my phone the U20i model and the needed 2.1.1.A.06 Build
i then found that the baseband could not be implimented properly through a backup and i therefore needed to flash it, my first many attempts failed greatly and i had no clue i then used this guide here and the latest version of the flasher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
i did not think it would work and to my surprise it did
Ok So far i have found that since i am on 3G i have no way to actually utilize the PHONE aspect of it, and i have also had something go wrong with the draw dock type thing... it wont bring up all of the apps now...
so its not that big of a deal, so atm its good, i have the u20i and the correct build and baseband so yay
but anyway, i still have my default backed up, i have the previous version backed up and the CM6 ROM version so i think that this is all good
although i wish i could get a nice rom which is 3G compatible, and oh oh oh! my cousin can get 4G speeds and still cant get 3G xD
Ok so after some tinkering and some searching and ****, i have found that the baseband is now 015 for all my backups... i will have to find baseband and kernel to flash to my device that will return it to 06
If i had the time to learn how i would see about an all in 1 sort of program which holds all basebands and its coupled builds... it would also root and instal xrecovery etc as other options and that will be about all xD but meh xD

How did you get to U20i? I actually have to do the opposite! Can you guide me through going from U20i to U20a??? I have read so much my brain is beginning to melt but I'm just not getting anywhere! :crying:
I need something in U20a to enable options in the baseband so it will work in Canada. I bought the stupid thing on eBay and didn't realize there were 2 versions of this phone.

How to upgrade to 2.3.3??? Plz help

Hi..
I m heaving x10i with t-mobile, how can i upgrade to 2.3.3?
Please help.....m new to xda..
Thanks in advance.....
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
You may be new to XDA but at least you posted your question in the right place. A lot of XDAers who behave and sound like they know what they are doing, don't even follow this rule. So don't worry!
Basically there are 2 ways to upgrade to 2.3.3. One is (1) to upgrade through PC Companion, and the other is (2) to flash pre-rooted version of the ROM.
If you have never used a flashtool or never flashed a ROM before, you should probably go the route (1). All you have to do is to install the PC Companion and connect your X10i to the PC. But you have to wait until an update becomes available for your version of installed 2.1 firmware. Here is something you should take a look at. If you happen to be in the legion where no official 2.3.3 is unavailable now, you may still be able to upgrade anyway if you know how to edit build.prop.
Going through the route (2) is a little more complex than (1) but if you read this or/and this carefully it shouldn't be that difficult.
model no x10i
fw version 2.1-update 1
bb version 2.1.54
kernel version 2.6.29 [email protected]#1
build no 2.1.A.0.435
what should i do to update?
Download the flash tool.
Doiwnload the firmware.
Flash.

How to get back to the original thing

How can I get back to the original x10i ?
What I did was..
1) I flashed my phone to get to 2.3.3
2) I rooted my phone
3) I installed wolf's rom
Need to know how to get back to my original device.. unrooting and installing the original update..
u can either flash the ftf file in the "xperia x10 roll out map" in general section if there isnt then u might have to PM the OP or something
otherwise u can flash 2.1 FW of your operator through flashtool then your phone will see the update if the operator release
i think
cheers
Are there any proper instructions on how to do it ?
I am confused that I will need to unroot also or not ?
