[ROM] Gingerbread turned BlueBread - myTouch 3G Slide Android Development

Hello all, been a while since I've posted. I have been working hard on the sidelines on a completely themed CM7 that feels acceptable to me. This is about as completely themed as it comes for me.
First off, on this copy I did remove many extra .apks I never use including DSP manager, development, wallpapers, the ability to change themes within the ROM, and a few other things I think.
As per previous experience I did leave the browser in (even though I never use it).
I did add a few items over time I have grown to not be able to live without, custom font is one of them. I spent a lot of time converting the ringtones from the MyTouch 4G and made them all compatible with the MyTouch 3G Slide. I have incorporated then into the various ringtones and alarms available to the Slide. I even added a few 'ringtones' to the notification audios so now longer notifications are available to those who want it! In addition I updated most the 'bland' settings icons with more 3D/colored ones.
In the notification bar, you will notice I have added completely custom and high quality color icons which do include some that I customized myself.

I waited so long to post this because I don't plan on doing updates to this ROM, this version of the nightly works flawlessly on my phone and I do not plan on updating for some time now. Though I will post an optional version 2 in a day or so without all the apks deleted for those of you that like to have the entire ROM.

Thank you for your work. This looks good. I may try this. I've found CM7 to be unstable for me so I've still been on Cyanoginger 1.2 (CM6.1.1) which has been the most stable for me. I may wipe extra to try this out. . . . . and use it until the Gingerbread roms with Sense features become stable. I really miss Sense.

looks pretty nifty, i'll give it a spin as soon as i have some time on my hand.

Everything seems to be working pretty good. The theme kinda bothers my eyes, but it still looks pleasant.

i was sold when i saw witchblade...im flashing it now!

how's the GPS working?

I forgot to mention that I flashed this without wiping and everything is working.

Just curious, how does the theme bother your eyes? I only changed icons in it.

Icons are nice, I just think they're kinda big. The font is probably mostly it. Is it Caviar Dreams? I flashed that on a rom myself during the original CR_OTA days. I like it, though. I'd just have the font a tad smaller, too.
I'm diggin' the rom.

Da_G for providing a great kitchen.
jmckeejr for helping me when I was having trouble with some of this.
bluemetalaxe for making some pretty freaking sweet iPhone themed icons.
Well Anyway Hey Everyone!!! Well this is my very first ROM I ever cooked up, based almost entirely of DA_G's Clean ROM, with iPhone-like themed icons and lock slider. I tried my best to make this as bug free as possible. Please let me know what you think, any advice is GREAT for me. Please don't criticize my work with harsh comments and language but criticizism is expected and accepted. Sorry for some icons looking crappy hopefully by the next beta version I'll have better ones.

When Headset Is Connected It Won't Show The Icon On The ToolBar
Not Sure If This Is An Issue But SIM Manager Doesn't Have An iPhone Themed Icon Because I Couldn't Locate It But It Can Be Changed Using "reStart" (Will Be Uploading Icon For It Soon)

First Public Release!
Please Let Me Know If You Think Anything Is Missing or Should Be Changed In This Clean ROM.
Customization May Take A Little Longer Than Any Other ROM Because I Added .cab Files, But Hopefully By Next Beta Release I'll Have The OEM's Instead. (Please Forgive Me If I'm Not Making Any Sense)
To Do's:
Learn To Make OEMs From Cab Files So Customization After Flashing Doesn't Take Too Long. (Testing)
Fix On Screen Keyboard So It Doesn't Have To Be Installed Manually. (Testing)
Replace Live Search With Bing
Create Better Icons (Still Deciding If I Should Keep The iPhone Themed Icons, Just Keep Originals, or Just Make Different Ones.(?hmmmm?)
Install More HTC/TP2 Enhancements (Locating The Ones I Feel Are Best)
Create Better Lock Slider (Fixing Most Important Things First)

[MOD] Segmented Battery Mod Nero

ATTENTION: This was built using Nero v1 as a base and it may work for other versions of Nero but no guarantees. If you want to try this over Nero v2/v3 you do so at your own risk. Please let us know if it works. Thanks.
Flashable via Clockwork Recovery. Make sure you backup you stuff before you flash this. Not responsible for any damage to your phone, person or property, you flash this at your own risk. It works fine on my Vibrant with Nero v1 & v2. Not sure about compatibility with Remix. Give it a try and let us know.

thank u sir and nice wall paper there (is that a live wallpaper?)
Love the look, just wish it was in a matching green color.
needs to be green please!
I guess anyone with a desire to do it and a good picture editing program can go edit the files. Any volunteers. I have only MS Paint at my disposal, and I don't think that will cut it.
Where are the pitures in the .apk? I cant seem to find them....
Perfect! Thank you!
res\drawable-hdpi-v4\stat_sys_battery_0.png all the way to stat_sys_battery_100.png as well as stat_sys_battery_charge_anim0.png to stat_sys_battery_charge_anim26.png
Thanks! Did not look hard enough...
No problem, I just had to dig around to find it. There's a LOT of files in there.
Yessir.
No offense to jocelyn over at TW forum, but this is so much better!!! Thank you!
I think some people didn't like the size of this one, hence her mod. Hers also keeps the stock look more. Myself I prefer this one, but more options are definitely a good thing.
Im working on a green version of this now...no promises. This is the first time ive tried something like this...
very nice mod
Thanks! Saved me the time of creating one. Did you have to do anything special to get it to recompile?
Okay, these are what I found.
First, idk if is a bug but after I reboot my phone, Launcher Pro freezes, with the web icon highlighted...weird. (this happened more than once. Another app just started to FC every time but...yeah)
Second, I don't like how the icon flashes between"Full" and charging sign. It distracts me, as I leave my phone charged while using.
Lastly, the icon says "Full", when the phone says it is 96%. I do see that the circle is not all the way filled up but it gives me an inaccurate idea of the battery.
Thanks,
***EDIT: I noticed that the real FULL reads 100%. Then I am confused between "100" and "Full"...

More apps themed
I just added a Droid 2 Global build.
Moderators, if you see this, there was no "Droid 2 Global Themes and Apps" section, that's why I posted here.

You have to install the one that gets pushed to /sdcard/BlackOut. There's probably like 10 Themed apk's in there that you can install just by browsing to that folder in your "Files" file manager. I don't install anything that isn't in the ROM by default, so you have to optionally install those on your own. Also in that folder are themed versions of all three keyboards. Hopefully, that'll help you out. All of this is noted in the main thread in the DX section.
I'm glad you like my work.
Oh, alright. Thanks for the reply!

I've always loved this theme and my phone looks so... archaic when I have to revert back to the stock theme after Fission updates.
Just some constructive criticism: one thing that bothers me about Preview 7 is the new google search widget. I don't remember it being so thick and I rather liked the slimmer version from Preview 6.

I did this so that it would match all of the other widgets in height and they would all meet edge to edge when you go homescreen to homescreen. It's something that bothered me for a while. Unfortunately, I'm probably going to leave it in there for a little bit like this, at least as a test run, but you can always extract the old one from Preview 6 and push it over the new one on your phone after Preview 7 installs.
I got svetius to make the themes and apps directory, he should be moving this there soon

Preview 7.1 posted. Fixes battery indicator issue. Now the numbers should match up to what your battery actually is at.
happy holidays everyone!

AOSP bar buttons for KME (with screenshot)

Hey all, I know some of you are like me and hate the TW buttons in the status bar so I threw together a KME version of SystemUI.apk Just copy the new one into system/app Make sure you backup the original in case. I am running it fine on the Starburst rom.

Good point. That was a late night blurry eyed post, I'll add a screenie in a bit when I get back to my tablet.

there are a few of these out there already. but good one on contributing bro. i loike seeing more people create things around here.
I didn't realize there was an AOSP on available for the KME update, all of the ones I tried just made the whole bar disappear.

Cool! Yeah I want to get the clock looking AOSP as well. Really my main goal is to hack the MiniApp framework to start building our own miniapps, I'd love to have a GTalk miniapp so I can send quick messages without closing out a video.
I've started work on it, but working part time and grad school part time is going to keep that project at low priority.

yeah i know how that goes man. 2 jobs, finishing my degree, and a 5 year old daughter prevents me from spending too much time with this stuff too. mini-tray is on my list of things to kill.

Hello!
I am running an overcome rom.
How can i remove light line above the system bar?
And how can i remove screenshot and miniapps buttons? I want to make AOSP like UX.
Thanks in advance.

Sense setting questions?

Hey so i'm a die hard AOSP/AOKP user. but the roms running for this system are quite hard to get super stable because we don't have the source kernel to tinker with. So i thought i'd start a thread about some things i particularly like about AOSP and see if we can bring them to Sense and then maybe we can get some converters. (like me if we can get this right haha)
1. I like the AOSP lock screen i like the fact that i can have 7 different apps i can unlock to. As well as weather. is there anyway to get the AOSP/AOKP lock screen on. Or atleast be able to change the sense lock screen so the icons are something OTHER than what you have set on your rosie bottom bar.
2. toggle in notification windows. i'm a one handed user. So the quick settings just isnt cutting it. I'd like something that is smaller easier and faster as in on the main screen of the notification bar. Like CM9 or AOKP.
honestly after that i dont really have that many complaints. not sure if anyone has anything we'd like to add so maybe we can make a AOSP/AOKP -esqe Sense rom.
Sorry if this feels like a gripe. I think i'm just slightly tired of waiting for AOSP and hoping that a sense one can take its place with a few mods.

I just joined so I can't post links yet but for your points:
1. Try Widgetlocker out. It's not free but there's always the 15 minute refund window.
2. Widgetsoid allows you to put toggles in your notification tray. There's a free and paid version of this in the Play Store.
For the second request you could also check out "Power Controls".
I find that indispensable.
