120.2°F hot for a charging phone?? Its burnns.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

120°F degrees is unusually hot. I get up to 105°F while charging and that's on a hot ~95°F day.
Check your task manager to see if there's anything using CPU. That kind of heat can also be caused if you're using data to download stuff while charging.

r u over clocking?
thats probably why, but 120? should never reach THAT high.

Mine reached 140 once... it felt so hot!

Never overclock befor.. idk..bit cooled down to 71°F now..

Mine gets very hot, I've seen 120°F and higher, when using it while charging. If left alone, it does not heat up.

99 Celsius or Fahrenheit?
It would be logial that its in Fahrenheit. 99F = 37C so thats normal. I would be worried if it was around 50C
Here in Brazil we use celsius and he didn't specify what type of measurement was talking about ...
Sorry for the joke,if it offended you.
No it is not to hot, its in normal use a normal temperature, no worries

I got my phone running at 49 Celsius (120 Farenheit), after using it as a GPS-Navigation for about 1 1/2 hours (I was using Google Maps Navigation).
I noticed it really hot when I grabbed it, and that's when I checked and it said it was 49 Celcius. After I turned the navigation off, it went down, but I was concerned that it got that hot.
What can be considered a harmful temp for this phone? I read somewhere that if the phone reaches 50 Celcius it would just turn off... is that true?

So what is the range of temperature consider as normal temperature?
I use OS monitor or via *#*#4636#*#* menu and it show 46 C degree for a long time, even though my phone doesn't feel hot.
I'm a bit concern of it...

How warm should the vibrant get?

I noticed my phone gets a little warm when surfing the web and stuff of that sort. Usually it seems to be around 95-98 degrees. This is normal correct? Just making sure.

yea that's normal. Mine hits 111 degrees when charging. No problems.

Using Phone While Charging

Rom: Euphoria 2.1
Kernel: Kiss 8.2
The problem I'm having is that while charging the phone and using it, the phone gets really hot. My battery temps are 107.6*F I'm assuming this will damage my battery pretty soon. How can I prevent this? Should I just not use the phone while on the charger??

As in, it gets to a certain percentage level and then plateaus? Or does it simply not charge up at all?
It only discharges when am using it while charging it but when am I leave it to charge on its own without using it, it charges very well. Any idea?

Seems to me like whatever you're using or running while it's charging might be negating the charging taking place, due to the amount of battery it's taking to run it.
If you're on WiFi or something while it's charging, I could potentially see how the output/input in terms of voltage could become stagnant or even decrease. Obviously just a theory, but I would say the energy your phone is using to run the task (ex: WiFi) is the same or even less than what it's drawing for energy to charge.. depending on what you're running, of course. Therefore, if you aren't using the phone (thus you're not "pulling" energy), it charges fine.
I don't think anything strange is going on here, but I could certainly be totally wrong - who knows.
I use internet while charging but anyways thanks for that.

phone or battery heat?

How to I check my phone or battery's temperature? Is there an app or option for this?

Well i dont know the thermal threshold on the chip, but I'd say anything above 105ish is pushing it.

System tuner has CPU temps available. 101 celcius is do-able for very short periods of time.. My device scales CPU speed at 80 celcius.

134 degrees? That's pretty hot!
Yeah I actually woke up to that, I felt it so hot on my arm lol, I had a battery too hot charging paused notification(it said something like that I was half asleep) , before I even thought to look at the temp and take a screen shot it was cooling down, so it was definitely a lot hotter than that lol.. I'm Gunna try and catch it right away next time...

So bug? Bad hardware? Different charge cable?
This ppst is worrysome. I just dropped 550 on a note 2 and waiting for it to get here. I am a heavy gamer, that is why I choose this phone. For the raw power.
