[Q] Dalvik cashe/ Full wipe.

Dear forum,
I got an question about full wipe and deleted dalvik cashe.
I am as an lot here playing with 2.2 Roms for the X10.
I read in some threads that there is an solution for the flashing screen after installing an 2.2. rom. It says do an full wipe in Xrecovery and an Dalvic cashe so the screen flashing is history.
When i do an full wipe (after of course do an back-up) does that result in complete disappearing of all my data and aps or can i with restore fixed that?

[Q] Problem with ROM

Hey guys, i wanted to upgrade my x10 mini pro to froyo android, but i have one problem. It seems that all was installed properly, in settings there even stands android version 2.2.1, but the design of the whole phone is like in android 1.6, tried it with 2 versions of ROM, the same problem. Is it something i did? Sorry for my english
thanks for the answer...
try with reflashing your costum rom. but before that wipe dalvik cache, full wipe (factory reset) and install it
i guess stupid question but...what is reflashing? And how to do it?
in xrecovery select factory reset (full wipe)
and then install custom zip (rom that you want)
reflash means that you install rom again

FOrmat System and Wipe Data ofc xD
just to be safe, make a backup in recovery before you do anything. then, wipe data/factory reset, cache, and dalvik cache. after you finish this, you can flash the rom

How to change ROMS from Lite'ning to MIUI

Im using a galaxy s2 with Lite'ning rom (android 4). But i couldnt resist the MIUI UI (android 2) so decided to change to it. I placed my zip files in the internal storage and reboot CWM to install the zip. But to no avail, my phone gets stuck in boot loop twice. so im wondering is it because of the different android version that my phone refuse to boot? How can I overcome it to install MIUI?
Thanks in advanced
Did you do a full wipe?
- Reboot in CWM
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Flash MIUI.zip

I did all of this and it still loops at welcome screen T_T
- Reboot in CWM
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik Cache
- /format system
- Flash MIUI.zip
I would throw /format system at the end.
Its under mounts and storage in your CWM menu

Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware or even your original firmware .
Still fails install old bootloader .

My question about wipe Dalvik cache, wipe cache partition, ect.

Hi everybody, I'm a vietnamese. I never used a android phone before.
I see in StreakMod recovery:
+ Wipe Dalvik cache.
+ Wipe Cache partition.
+ Fix permissions.
+ Wipe data/Factory reset (not sure)
I usually do it (in order) whenever i flash a recovery or install a rom. But i don't know:
1. Must I do that?
2. When should I do that, after or before finishing a "factory reset"?
3. After I do a "factory reset", must I do it again?
Sorry about my bad English.

Usually if you are installing a custom ROM it will tell you whether or not you need to do a wipe of the Dalvik cache. Always Factory reset before installing a new ROM unless otherwise noted. Wiping the Cache and/or a factory reset after installing a ROM can usually fix most FC issues and issues adding accounts on a Streak
