LG optimus C - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hey there guys I'm new to the forums but I've been using android since the G1 launched. I just got the LG optimus C and I know it's nothing powerful but it does the job and runs netflix pretty well now. Well I have it rooted now with Gingerbreak and was wondering if anyone has gotten a custom rom running on it yet?
I managed to turn swype off (big fingers dont mix with swype on this screen) and I changed the home screen, disabling the LG one. But I would really love
to get CM running on it like devs have managed to get running on the V and other optimus devices.
I apologize if this is in the incorrect area, I knew the phones were similar on a hardware level so it was the closest I knew.
Anyone had any success or suggestions?

selfless bump

Have you found a recovery program that supports it? I don't see it listed at http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/330813-all-one-recovery-thread.html

Someone claims to have gotten one going.I forget the name but it begins with an X. I know the custom optimus roms just need to be tweaked slightly for this device. Unfortunately I suck at custom roms, better at psp coding. If anyone wants to port it i'd be so grateful i'd donate.

I know that drellisdee/getitnowmarketing worked on bringing the Amon-Ra recovery to Optimus T and other Optimus flavors. You might contact him.

[Q] Is Optimus One the same as Optimus S?

If it is, can we somehow include this device, and the Optimus T in the Optimus One section? Maybe you can just take the "One" out of the name and/or not add "All" in it's place?
It's not the same device but it has similar specs.

yeah, when I say the same I mean in terms of running all the same stuff. Like if a ROM works on one, it works on the other. I'm thinking this should be the case; almost certainly for the S and T (just stands for carrier), and I'm thinking for the One also... with exception to the radios. I'd love to see people try that out to see.
I might be getting the Optimus S for my wife if I don't manage to get the Transform on Black Friday. If I do, I'd be willing to guinea pig it.
10 days and no answer? Does anyone at least know of a board that is doing custom roms/root/etc on the Optimus S/T?

andriodcentral forums has a section for the optimus s with root custom recovery and a rom
Thanks! I'll go check it out
optimus s i not like the optimus one p500 its a different device, optimus T is the exact same as optimus one p500.
no optimus s is just different on the outside.. it is nothing but the optimus one in reality
Optimus T & One are the same, S is similar but won't accept the same flashes, etc, because since it's a cdma phone it has the msm 7627 where the T & One have the msm 7227. Happy now?

Optimus One/Optimus T differences?

I searched around the forum and I haven't found a set in stone explanation for this sort of thing... Are the custom ROMs and kernels made for the Optimus One compatible with the Optimus T?
I have a stock 2.2 rom on an LG Optimus T, and I really want to delve into custom recovery, custom roms, and so forth... but I'm afraid of bricking my phone due to compatibility.
Any information regarding the differences between them would be great help, and I'd really appreciate if anyone could point me in the direction of an Optimus T thunderg recovery or a thread of Optimus T related customizations.
I'm really looking forward to this forum, it seems like everyone really knows their stuff, thanks in advance
As far as I can tell, they are exactly the same phone except due to the region and network they are released on, they have a different codes. (Such as O1 is p500, and OT is P509) I have tried to use custom recovery from Optimus T, and I can confirm that they work perfectly fine, whereas when I tried Optimus S, it failed several times. Roms are interchangably, since I have seen the same ROMs available for both phones.
I'm own the Optimus T phone and it runs the devoid rom for the p500. I have had no issues, but then again, I didn't install any of the optional modules. The recovery I'm using came from another site.
Optimus T (p509) is functionally identical to the Optimus One (p500). All roms, recovery, themes, etc meant for the Optimus One will work perfectly on the Optimus T. I have an OT and running void rom for weeks with no problems.
Optimus S isn't compatible with these roms because it uses cdma instead of gsm.
Also, welcome to the forums!
Something's different between the two, because 500 users report reduced battery life with Joseph Mother's 509 roms, and vice versa with 500 roms on a 509. All software will work between the two, however.
Will test OT roms to see battery life for myself. I've always wanted to try out ThundeROM

Could it be the difference in the base Froyo version used by each device?
See links:
pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2655&c=lg_p509_optimus_t
pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2485&c=lg_p500_optimus_one
Either that, or bloatware on the stock ROM could be causing the comparison skew?
W-CDMA 1700 band support on P500 via baseband flash ?
Optimus T P509 (T-Mobile USA) supports W-CDMA 1700 (aka UMTS band IV aka AWS-1)
Is it possible to enable this band on other models such as P500 or P500h ?
What are the differences between P500 P500h P509 in:
- hardware
- nvram settings
- baseband image
- ... ?

[q] [rom question]

Hello i recently bought an lg chic and have been looking for custom roms that support it. Sadly i have only been able to find one, Cyanogen 7.2.0. I flashed it to my device and it works, but the rom is still in beta stages (being ported) so its kinda buggy.
My friend has an optimus one running lunar ics. The optimus chic and optimus one are almost identical phones, so would I be able to flash lunar ics to my phone without bricking it?
In my experience, unless a ROM maker specifically mentions that your phone is supported by their build, you would be very unwise to try it out.
Given the speed with which people are coming out with ICS ROMs, you would probably be best served to wait, or get a different phone.
They are not the same.
Even the slightest difference makes a huge difference.
Don't try it.
alright thanks alot lol, i guess ill just have to wait for the rom to be updated some more

I don't think anyone has done any new fixes for 4.3 conversion, as there's really not much point anymore. Some of the old fixes might still work, but you're probably better off converting back. Is there a particular ROM you want that hasn't been ported? If not, what's your reason to stay converted?

There are plenty of 4.3 ROM available for non converted devices which are non stock, and which yield excellent battery life. I recommend you try some of them before dismissing them.

I saw this and I figured I'd jump in, I'm also converted and I'm wondering about a GPS fix- I've easily applied the fixes for Ext SD, Cap Keys, etc, however GPS seems to aloud me- I can't find a way to make it work in a normal fashion, Maybe if I'd give it like a long time it would work but then what's the point?
So, I was wondering, what was a way that worked for you to make GPS work?
Additionally, I will say that in all my time doing android (hasn't been long, but I've gone through at least 7-8 devices including most of the flagships) I've never seen any version of CM run as smooth and stable as a stock nexus 4, but that's just me- I like roms who work fairly quickly out of the box, not ones where you have to keep putting out fires and fixing stuff.
Anyway, regarding my question- any idea how to "fix" GPS?
Most of the experienced users and developers do not approve of the n4 conversion and a lot of us explicitly refuse to support it. So convert back, you should have just been patient and waited the wee bit of time it took to get aosp roms on here without converting.

Is that so? A developer's website which doesn't support developing? How wonderfully condescending of you!
Couple of things:
First off, I just did this conversion, after having being annoyed with the optimus UI in my optimus g which I procured from ebay at a wonderful price of 170$ for a mint in box price. I figured converting to a nexus 4 would simply grant me a wonderful stock rom to use, much like Galaxy S4 use flash the GPe rom for their own use.
The fact that this very simple process (honestly, just use the tot file provided in LGNPST, god almighty, it's child's play! only ODIN is easier than this!) is not supported in my eyes just goes to show the truly awful state in which we found ourselves in- Instead of exploring new avenues, we fear advancement and change and are told to "stick to our pre-approved roms".
Well sir, perhaps I'm not your idea of an "experienced user" but I will not be kow-towed! I'll just figure this out on my own, as I did with most things I needed to figure out while helping my friends with their android devices for the last couple of years.
Not to bash the devs of course, they offer us choice and we choose to put our heads in the sand.
In any case, have a wonderful day, let me know of anything else you don't approve of so I can immediately remove it from my life-
Electricity? Running Water? Breathing Air?

You're completely missing the point. It wasn't about being condescending at all, but to inform the user that no one with E970s are working on the converted version anymore, as you can run the ASOP perfectly fine "natively". So, since all development is going into working with the latest releases on non-converted E970, why should we recommend N4 converting your E970?? No one will help you should anything go wrong.
That's not being condescending, just a statement of facts. Sorry.
This issue could be avoided if people would just do a bit more reading before jumping into the conversion. I agree there is no real point to convert anymore.

Something is off about you. I informed you of by far the path of least resistance to put 4.3 on your phone. Instead you suggest I am kowtowing you. That doesn't make any sense.

The conversion was a hack released against the wishes of those who discovered it, then left unsupported. Dvhexer released some patches until 4.1 update made the whole thing pointless. If you convert your phone so you can feel like a rebel that's fine, but it will be pointed out how silly it is if support is asked for.

To a certain point it's ok... You just don't want to modify something that will trigger a security error.
What are you wanting to do, as far as mod?
Have you seen the CM9 for locked bootloader?
It's a step towards building a ROM for locked bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684856
He is aware of the limitations of the bootloader guys, he's referring to building a ROM that doesn't conflict with the 2nd-init and such, like the locked CM9 we have from Pollos. He's probably interested in learning how to port CM10/11, I myself wouldn't mind taking a look at that information either.
Not exactly but that gives us an Idea to work towards...since I don't run Ubuntu it will be difficult but the Cyano website does give some info on how to build a "build" for a certain phone....but how to undo lg security error for it is another problem

Well I'm not sure if by "Guys" you are referring to me, But if you read My post... You are basically only reiterating what I have already posted. Although we do appreciate you speaking for the OP on his behalf.
Obviously anyone here with knowledge of the L9 devices are completely aware of the limitations of the locked and encrypted bootloader. It's perfectly clear that he is wanting to build a ROM that doesn't conflict with the 2nd-init, what would the point be otherwise. This is why I mentioned the CM9 for locked and unlocked bootloaders, is a good reference and starting point in attempting to building other ROMs for L9's with locked bootloaders.
It's also no good to assume whether or not someone is familiar with or aware of crucial information... This will undoubtedly get a fellow member into trouble or brick their device.
Another thing that might be worth looking into is trying to intercept the stock kernel's call for the pre-hardware file/chargemon and then have it instead call on the custom rom. optimumpro has already said and is willing to help with this.... Although he needs a CM10 ROM, not 10.1 or higher to begin working on it. If we could build one or maybe use the CM9 to figure out how to achieve this, it maybe worth looking into.
