[Q] status/notification LED - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

this surely must have been asked before but can't seem to find any answer.
does the SGS2 have a status/notification LED?

No it does not. But I use No LED from the market. IMO it works great.

i wonder how many of those that have battery problems are using NoLed.

BLN
We need BLN like SGS1.
The notification system is bases on touch buttons lights but for that we need a custom kernel. I hope supercurio or braap will come with one, quickly.

using noled without a battery issue.
I guess a few jumping around pixels on a AMOLED display won't hurt much,

I think battery life is great. Of course if you use large icons and vibration and maybe audio notifications your results may vary.
I just like to be able to walk away and come back to visually see a missed call, e-mail sms ect.

It's called battery status bar or something like that. I tried but uninstalled as it can only show the rounded battery percentage for defy.
sorry i cant find it with your suggestions. Status bar, tatusbar, circle widget, none of them seems to have a notification as stated andy ideas or am I completely wrong?
Hi
I think this is apk "ledefy", available here: ledefy.com
thanks very much, seems like similar to this, not the same, but as great as above.
The App is called Circular Battery Indicator!

Remove vibration on Home, Menu and back keys

Is there any way to remove the home menu and back button haptic feedback, obviously I have turned vibration off in the settings menu and these can't be removed as there is on option there. It really bugs me I guess it eats the battery too why didn't they leave this option to the user.
Does anyone known how to turn them off any other way
Thanks
Vin
I believe the only way you can turn them off is if you have full registry access, which us Nokia peeps don't yet have.

It's very annoying for me, may be someone have to develop special app for customizing vibration. It would prolong precious battery life as well

[Q] tegra_spi.1 is partying hard all night, every night

For some reason, every night when my MB860 is plugged into the charger, the tegra_spi.1 system process goes nuts with CPU usage. With a name like "tegra" I assume it has something to do with the GPU, but a quick google and forum search gave me no answers other than a few people with a Photon having a similar problem, but no one seems to know why. I have no live wallpaper, or any other apps/widgets running that I can think would be using the GPU. Very strange that it only goes nuts when I'm not using the phone.
It isn't terribly important, because it only seems to happen when the phone is charging, so I'm not worried about battery drain. But I am worried about wear and tear; my experience with PCs is that the more you use a component, the shorter its lifespan will be.
Here's a couple screenshots from System Panel:

Anyone know what might be causing this? I am running the latest October build of mmontuori's MROM on an Atrix MB860.

GPS lock

Does anyone else GPS always keep the blue circle around the GPS dot? Seems like mine never fully locks.

Two things:
1) it looks like you're indoors, and thus should expect the lock to be weaker
2) I have yet to see any device ever get such a strong lock that the circle disappears completely
I have personally seen my Thunderbolt reach a 1 meter accuracy lock and if you zoom in as far as you did, there's still a circle around my location dot. So drop all hopes of the circle completely disappearing, it won't. Ever. Not trying to sound harsh but it is just the way it is. Believe me, it bothers me too especially when I'm using Navigation and I can see just how much area it can calculate wrongly.

Ambient Display setting has no effect

Hi,
as per thread's title, I can't see any difference when switching this setting on. Is it just me?
Thanks for any info.

I does work for me.
If the Display is turned off and you receive a message or whatsapp or email and so on, the display activates and is showing the lockscreen.
If this option is turned off and a msg comes in there is no reaction at all, so the display remains dark. (Other than the sound / vibrate / light etc.)
Well, in this case I can confirm it doesn't work for me.
(Mmmh... now it's more than one thing that's not working...)
Any suggestion? The feature looks quite nice.
OK, it works when setting one lock method at least, I.e. swipe to unlock. I had nothing set before.
Not sure it makes sense, but at least it works.
