[Q] Modem Settings in OSX - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I plug my phone into my Mac via USB I get a "Modem detected" message come up and an item appear in my Network Settings panel. Does anyone know the number, account name and password I need to connect via o2?

Will get on my mac pro later and check, think that will do it for you. Will change this later if I'm wrong

Great thanks mate

No that doesn't work. Just tries to connect then fails. If I put the phone in USB tether mode the network device disappears from the Network Panel.

You using correct user and pass? o2web and password I think

Fixed IP?

Is there any way to assign a fixed ip instead of getting it by dhcp? I looked into wireless/advanced like in galaxy s2 but no luck.
Thank you

Yes there is but its almost hidden. You have to touch and hold which ever wifi network you want to access. A menu will popup with the option to Modify network config.
If you tell us the make and model of your router I'm sure someone will walk you through the process. I have my tab on a fixed IP as well.

Thank you, it was holding the wifi network.
I wanted to set it in my tablet, not via router. I already know how to assign it with router. Thank you anyway.

There is an option under help i think that is called check driver or similar. Only if every driver is installed it works. If not make sure that you installed the driver from the driver dir. Also unpack the three archives, cause there are the hsusb driver.
Next time use the right section!

USB doesnt work

Why my phone doesnt show any notification when i connect usb.
I cant connect my sd card storage to pc, because there maybe a phone problem.
Sent from my MT15i using XDA Premium App
Since when?
In MTP mode or MSC mode?
Since i reflashed custom system files, but i reflashed to stock again, but it doesnt work.
Maybe something in system?
Phone showing that he chargeing, but usb promt doesnt showing in statusbar.

Oh, sorry for bad english.

When I plug the USB cable into the XPERIA NEO phone and then into the PC the Mount option in
the notifications never shows up. The usb cable
is fine because it does charge and the drive icon
shows up in the PC, however, when I click on
the drive it says please connect the drive. If I
pull down the notification bar it isn't recognizing
the usb as being plugged in / doesn't provide the
option to mount / unmount the device. If I go
into application settings and then development i
can select the usb debugging and when i
connect there it brings up the popup that asks if
you want to allow or not, if I select yes it does
say usb debugging connected, but again,
nothing shows up in the notification bar to
actually mount the device to the computer. The
phone was reset to "factory settings" already
and there's nothing on it apart from what came
with it right now. How do I get to mount it to
the PC and get the mount notification back in
the notifications drop down??
settings->Sony Ericsson->Connectivity:
check what is set under "USB connection mode", and if it's set "Mass storage mode(MSC)" check if you marked "Auto connect on MSC"
Hm, but even then you should get a message in notification bar
Nothing helps..
My sd card working in other phone, in same usb port with same usb wire.

Managed to fix it ??
Keep trying to use FlastTool
Required me to try like 25-30 time :O
Try different Data cables :/
Or do a factory Reset in CWM, it will get rid of the ububtu apps and drivers
Ok, all story
I installed custom zip, who broke my phone.
Reflashed phone to 2.3.3 with flashtool
Connected usb to pc, sd card working great.
I restored my backup 2.3.4 via cwm.
And thats all, usb doesnt work.
That cwm backup i made long time ago.

Clear everything (factory reset) and reflash "properly"... backing up or restoring an OS or ROM is not a great idea, integrity wise.
Agreed, since your USB working now, flash a clean firmware
Ok, i try this

Archos 70 xenon

Hi. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I have an Archos 70 xenon tablet (uk) It's an ex display model and the demo mode is on there.
I've tried holding volume up and power and I can get to recovery. But im unable to select anything while in recovery.
Tried to connect it to laptop but my pic can't see it obviously. I also tried downloading the firmware from archos website and putting it on a micro sd. But this also does nothing as it's on demo mode.
Any help/advice please?
Nobody?

usually this is resolved by an OTA update. Have you tried that?

if you can access the settings, go to security, and look if Demo is checked on, on administators.
Dont know if it would work but try to open the phone app and dial *#7780#*#* and see what happens. Its Supposed to factory reset the phone.
