A week or so ago I posted a thread on my phone lagging in and out of the text app. I decided to try go sms. It seemed to be better but not completely gone. Also Ive noticed that when I would go into my contacts and select one the name would pop up but not have any info. I switched to Go contacts and the problem went away. So i thought id give GO launcher a try. WOW is all can say. Id been a LP guy for a long time. This blows it away. My phone actually feels like it got supercharged. if your thinking about trying a new launcher give Go a go!!

I've tried it and got the most part I thought it was nice. The only issues I didn't like was the slower opening transition when using the app drawer and the setup of the app drawer. Other than that, I thought it packed a lot of features.

Hmmm. I thought the opening speed was pretty fast. Plus I like the windmill setting when opening and closing the app drawer.

Hi guys was wondering if there is this app out there that can do the following...
You know when you swipe left or right you go to different windows from the home screen. Is there an app or something that wil allow you to swipe up or down from the homescreen to go to the window to the left x2 or to the right x2. I'm basically trying to find a way to get to my other windows in just 1 swipe as opposed to 2. It might not be much but I would much prefer it that faster if possible.
Anyone know of anything that can do this for me?
I use the "pinch and pick" method. (At least that's what I call it.)
Or hit the Home button twice (or just once if you're already on the Home screen).
That's an interesting idea but I would assume it would have to be built into the launcher you're using. Like home screen replacement Apps have swipe up for this and down for that but I haven't seen them have an option for swipe up for page x.

Swipepad is the shizzle, too! Good find! Swipepad + wave launcher + go launcher = totally covert homescreen! No statusbar, no dockbar, just secret areas to swipe from!

Will that all eat up my battery a lot if I'm running stock everything non-rooted?
I'm really enjoying being non-rooted because surprisingly everything just WORKs. Battery life is great as I can get an entire 12-13 hour day out of it before it goes red.
Also...why Go Launcher? When I use to have it on my old Evo 4g whenever I would press the "home button" it would close Go Launcher and go back to the stock launcher...also...I have to use their own Friend widget (people widget) if you use it right? Or has that changed? When I used Go Launcher before the People widget I use to use from Sense disappears.
I'm completely stock.... Just download Wave Launcher and try it, if you like it then excellent, if you don't then uninstall... It's a free app so you lose nothing trying it. Good luck!

Stock unrooted, too. GO Launcher (like any alternate home app) doesn't allow the use of Sense Widgets but they have an alternative to most of them and the widgets are themeable. Battery usage is no more than usual and if you REALLY wanna squeeze all the juice you can from a charge, check out Juice Defender. And why GO Launcher? It takes the best parts of all the paid launchers (ADW, Launcher Pro, etc), improves on them, adds in even more functionality, offers tons of themes or the ability to create your own, and it's free! I use GO SMS, GO Contacts and GO Dialer, too. The GO Weather is borked though lol dunno why

That sounds really weird. I haven't had any issues with go launcher except that some times i want to go to landscape mode and it won't...but i think that's just my settings...it ain't for everyone, but try uninstalling ,wiping cache/ dalvik before trying to reinstall?

I am rooted and running stock ROM. I performed a factory data reset, removed the battery and all went well. My widgets started loading perfectly. Widget Locker loaded perfectly. It was like nothing was wrong. I know it sounds very simple but it worked for me. Qbking77 pm me back and he said that he experienced some issues with GO Launcher as well.

Go launcher ex sucks. For me. I have the same issue....plus its laggy as he'll from time to time. Especially after unlick the phone from the lock screen.

Been noticing the same issue actually. After unlocking it lags. I am probably gonna uninstall and try wiping and see what happens.

I'm gonna try Launcher Pro and see if I like it better...and as it turns out, there are some trade offs it seems:
1) Max 7 homescreens - You can get 18 in Go Launcher EX (9 screens x 2 sets) I think, but I've never gone past 8
2) Can't uninstall from homescreen - You can do this in Go Launcher
3) Can't change icon/name of app in homescreen - You can do this in Go Launcher
4) Less screen to screen animations available - There are about a dozen in Go Launcher
5) Faster than Go Launcher - Though still laggy straight off of lock/screen off
6) 3D app drawer is a nice touch - I almost prefer the side scrolling pages
7) Doesn't seem glitchy - Widgets and apps sometimes would have to be replaced on homescreen in Go Launcher
8) Can't drop multiple apps onto homescreen - Go Launcher can...
I guess if you're all about customizing, Go Launcher might be the way to go...but performance-wise Launcher Pro seems a bit better.

Wow! I can't believe the problems you're having. I've never experienced any of those. I agree with ktt16 on the universal suggestion. Also delete any widgets created during setup so you start with any empty desktop.

I'm running cybiks CM7 port and I'm using go launcher ex with no problems. I think I did have an issue once while on stock but go launcher got updated and had no problems since. I do know that go launcher had a good update cycle so I wouldn't be surprised if your issue gets fixed in the next app update.

In launcher pro, you can uninstall stuff from the home screen if you hold it over the trash can for a second or two.

I like go launcher ex the most out of all the launchers. Just works better and has a better interface to me.
I been using Go Launcher for a while now and I'm running trigger final. When I go to my contacts and choose a contact to dial, it takes forever to finally dial the number. I've noticed that if I hit the back button or the home button it helps a little bit. I've tried deleting old text messages as well as clearing my call list, but it's only temporary and not enough to fix my problem. Does anyone else have this issue or found a fix for it? anything would be appreciated.
Try using ex dialer.

ex dialer rocks, but it still doesn't solve my lag issues when dialing a call. The screen still freezes and I have to wait as much as 30 seconds for the call to finally send.
Did you try clearing the cache for Dialer?
System Settings -> Applications -> All -> Dialer -> Clear Cache
I haven't really had lag problems, but that's helped when the dialer force closed when entering a number.
Yeah tried that too. I'm actually really starting to think it's go launcher. I deleted it and it made my phone real zippy and responsive. I'm just not a fan of the stock launcher. But getting rid of my custom launcher seemed to solve it. So I figured, screw it and jumped on zenwich. I can live without GPS.

Go Launcher used to be on of my favorites, but it's getting way too flashy for its own good regarding the Vibrant. Too much going on for the old girl as far as I'm concerned.
If you haven't flashed to ICZen yet I highly suggest the Holo launcher if you're still on Froyo. Ice Cream Sandwhich looks and a good portion of the functionality; absolutely love it. Grab that with something like Ex Dialer and I think you'd be good.
I been running icszen for s while now. Very pleased with it as you said. No more lag with the dialer. It's got a couple bugs, but I'm up for upgrade now.

I really like go sms pro and a few others They make a lot of decent apps, all highly customizable. I used go launcher before I got CM9. As for others? Idk.

I used Go with my Droid X and Liberty and loved it. Since this is my first HTC I've been giving sense a try, but the thing that drives me nuts is the home screen only sits vertical, where as Go works either or.
I never did theme mine, the craziest i got was enabling some of the cool page transition graphics. I'm starting to lean toward Go again, esp if i can get the sense clock/weather 4x1 widget. I have to say i love that thing a lot.

Being only vertical is what drives me nuts about Sense. If there was a way for the homescreen to be auto orientation, then Sense would be all I need.

Same with me, that's a waste of space. Apex launcher doesn't have that black menu bar. Not sure about other launchers.
I used it in the past but found it "choppier" then other options. ADWLauncher EX is my go-to nowadays. never had a problem with it.
I'm trying it right now. It seems to be the only one that I can find that offers a 5 column app drawer and allows resizable widgets for free.
It seems pretty fast, there is choppiness every now and then but that is usually when I'm running other stuff at the same time.
The biggest downside is the Honeycomb menu bar. I emailed the developer about this issue, hopefully they will take care of it since it is a fairly simple fix. If some of you like it too (except for the menu bar), I'd encourage you to email them and complain. The more complaints the higher the chances of a fix. [email protected]

I have spb, its good but uses lots of memory, sometimes, it lags speed to load, and slows down, it only has one theme so you either settle with it or once you get bother you regret spending $15.00 dollars as I did. otherwise its good launcher.

Nova Launcher Prime is an excellent launcher.
Only problem I've been having, I can create a folder and put several apps in it. However, after about three or four apps, when I try to add another app to a folder by dragging the app to the folder, the folder and app simply swap locations! It's absolutely maddening!
I've written to the developers, and they've responded by telling me how to add an app to a folder. I KNOW how to add apps! It isn't WORKING! The app and folder simply change locations!
Other then this one issue (which is kind of a biggy), Nova is bug free and a pleasure to use!
I love nova launcher. Worth every penny. Sbd always ran very smooth for me by lacks features. Kinda like the stock android launcher. What you see is what you get.

I've used Next Launcher it's buttery smooth. They are able to achieve 60 FPS consistently which is very rare for a launcher. Is it worth $15, hell no! Maybe $5 at most but I have used so many of Go's products which are all free so I figured the $15 went to support continued development.

Folders are for noobz. Take advantage of the tabs I have mine set like this. General, Games, Tools, Media, Misc
Seeing as the "General" tab is first I have allocated it to be for any app that I access all the time.
When Eclair and Froyo were around, I used Launcher Pro Plus. Once Gingerbread was released I was on ADW EX until it was destroyed by Go Launcher EX. But then came along ICS and changed the game, I felt like Apex Pro was the best for a long time. Once Nova and Apex both launched "Extra Tabs" I started the tabs on Apex and it SUCKED so I switched to Nova Prime and I feel like it is the best Launcher experience to date.
P.S. I have tried SPB Shell on my SGS 3 and it was slow and buggy. It felt too bloated for me. If you want to try something completely different, I would recommend using widgets and multi picture livewallpaper. You can create some awesome effects.
There is a video on youtube right here going in to detail on how to do some of the stuff (this is over the top for me) but you can play with it. *Note you don't have to use Go Launcher, have a play*

I'm iffy with nova right now...it keeps bringing up double notifications for my texts...it's getting annoying and I can't figure out how to disable the "other"notification might just go back to stock again....we shall see

This error has nothing to do with Nova. It is most likely because you are running a 3rd party Message app or simply a bad mms.apk install. I would clear the cache files or reinstall your messaging app

Probably getting notifications from both stock sms app and 3rd party.
As far as Next Launcher and SPB they are gimmicky crap in my opinion. They might look cool for a day or two but that wears off and you are stuck with a cheap toy-looking launcher that you spent upwards of 15 bucks on. Get ADW EX or Nova or Apex.

Yeah, the 3rd party message app causes the duplicate unless you disable the notification.
I have played with SO many launchers at this point it makes me dizzy. All the 3D stuff/fancy frills are battery kills. I love the stock launcher, but Nova really takes the cake for me.
Yea I did have 3rd party apps but I uninstalled them for that reason cause of the double notifications....still get them though don't knows what's up don't get me wrong I love nova SPB definitely not worth the price and Next was eh I'd rather use nova or EX...still running Nova right now love the gestures to pull up an app!
